Wargaming: What is the average winrate of all players not games?

Damn, you're right.. I gotta admit, I had some brainlag there, but I see now where my misconception/miscalculation was. Thanks for pointing that out. -
Wargaming: What is the average winrate of all players not games?
comcode3 replied to TheNubination's topic in General Discussion
To be honest, I don't understand what exactly you are trying to achieve with this thread. But I am not a mathematician/statistician, so that probably just exceeds my knowledge that of. However, I think you might be overthinking your initial question a bit - "what is the average winrate of players?". You might be thinking, that the average winrate of all players being less than 50% is a result from more "bad" players with more battles dragging down the stats of less "good" players with less battles - which is kinda right, but probably not because of the reasons you think. You can't just disconnect the average of all players' stats from the stats/results of all the battles that were played, since one is a result from the other. Let's look at one single battle as an example: 12 vs 12 players* One team wins, the other team loses. i.e. one team has 100% winrate, the other has 0% winrate. Since both teams have the same number of players, it averages out at exactly 50%. So, over any number of battles the average winrate of all the players fighting in those battles would always be at EXACTLY 50% - if it wasn't for matches that end in a draw, which could be counted as a defeat for both teams. It is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to get an average winrate among all players that is higher than 50% - because if one player wins, another player must lose. Considering the draws, it even is impossible to reach the 50% mark and the average HAS TO be a bit less than that - depending on how many matches ended in draws. Also, this is regardless of players hiding their individual statistics. So the average winrate of all battles of all players is a bit less than 50% and the exact value is only dependant on how many battles ended in draws - regardless of the "good" or "bad" winrates that some individual players might have or how many battles they had played. - strike that As for your linked thread in the Steam forums regarding the discrepancy between proships.ru and wows-numbers.com, you should probably take a look into how their "categories of players" and colorcoding are calculated/evaluated, rather than digging into the players' stats themselves. *) Sometimes there might be less players in a battle, but starting from T5 there is always the same number of players in each team (on lower tiers, empty slots would be filled up with bots and the number of players per team might differ, but I will neglect that for now) -
Bad Advice behind the scenes Collection
comcode3 replied to Anthoniusii's topic in General Discussion
The code from 2020 is "THERISEOFCAP" - as stated above - and AFAIK, it is still active. It doesn't matter if the code of this very stream would have been a different one. Both codes would unlock the collection and it can be completed by subscription via daily containers. -
WG: Why are the actual values for "Guaranteed Drops" removed form the official article where all container types are listed?

WG: Why are the actual values for "Guaranteed Drops" removed form the official article where all container types are listed?
comcode3 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't recall the info with the exact values ever being present on the Container Contents and Drop Chances page - only the general information on how the mechanic works. It would probably also make the article pretty cluttered, as the info would have to be added for pretty much every individual container. I had only seen it as additional info in the armory or premium shop before. However, I would definitely welcome it, if it was added to the overview page, to have all the relevant information in one spot. -
I had the honor to meet a similar player.. 4 times.. 4 tickets.. Support - as usual - never shared any further information about the exact consequences. However, apparently no permaban. One day a contributor had that guy in his match in a stream. I contacted him, sent him my tickets/replays and he forwarded them to the community managers. Tracking the player's stats, he hadn't played any battles since then - so he's probably permabanned now. So apparently, it's the player support who won't take hard action. My guess is that they just have their default answers and actions and will only exceed that for unusual exceptions.

Game keeps freezing when i try to go to Dockyard
comcode3 replied to Headless75's question in Q&A Section
Try changing the option "Game browser hardware acceleration" in the graphics settings. That usually helps with this type of issue in the dockyard, armory, etc. Otherwise, you can still reach it in a regular browser via the already proposed link: https://dockyard.worldofwarships.eu/ -
Armory: Ship + commander + port slot for 19.300 Doubloons (63,49€) Premium Shop: Ship + port slot for 63,49€ - same price as in Armory In special bundles like the admiral pack for Álvaro de Bazán, Rio de Janeiro or Hampshire there is actually a commander mentioned that is included in the package in the premium shop. As far as I remember, there are usually 3pt commanders included when purchasing a premium ship from the premium shop. Can anyone maybe confirm whether or not there is a captain included when purchasing a ship from the premium shop at the moment? Is this just a displaying issue (which would be my guess) or is there actually no commander included (which - I would guess - is probably a bug, since the price is still the same as in the Armory and - as far as I remember - commanders had been included before)?

Premium shop: commanders included or not?
comcode3 replied to comcode3's topic in General Discussion
Guess my memory was tricking me there I don't disagree with you. However, I find it strange that there appear to be different offers for exactly the same price depending on which platform you use. -

Devblog for Update 0.11.8 (04.08.2022) "In Update 0.11.8, there will no longer be an operation of the week. When playing with a matchmaker-selected team, the Operation scenario itself will be randomly selected. It will, however, still be possible to independently choose which scenario you play when entering as part of a division." Devblog for Update 0.11.9 (01.09.2022) "Operation "Saving Transylvania" will be available as Operation of the Week in the first week of the update, "Sunray in the Darkness" – in the second week. Throughout version 0.11.9, they will be available for completion in divisions." Soooo, the "operation of the week" will only be disabled during update 0.11.8 and return in update 0.11.9? Or are there maybe different teams working on the individual updates and didn't agree on this change? Or will the change just temporarily be reverted for the Halloween event (so that the missions can be played specifically by solo players) and then be implemented again after that? Not that it's of utmost importance, but can someone maybe clarify?

That's what I had in mind. A bit strange though to introduce this change just to implement an exception to the rule in the subsequent patch

Sevastopol is announced to be added to the research bureau. When and if that will actually happen - considering the current situation regarding Russia - ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ST 0.10.11, NEW SHIPS (Devblog from 07.11.2021, including information & stats from Sevastopol) METHODS OF DISTRIBUTION OF NEW SHIPS (Devblog from 21.12.2021, confirming Sevastopol being planned to be added to the research bureau)

The x2 Bonus is only available once every 3 months, though. So stacking those bonuses would take some time or you would have to put up with the x1 bonus.

More resource container droprates are wonky
comcode3 replied to Fesvil's topic in General Discussion
Also got a spreadsheet here, can confirm. That's what I did. I can't make any claims about how many of the collected containers had 1, 2 or 3 slots filled with coal as I opened all of them at once (except for the last opening), but I can tell you the average amount of coal per container: 27.02.2021: 504 coal per container on average (I think there were two other containers of a different type that slipped through) 06.06.2021: 504 coal per container on average 08.08.2021: 484 coal per container on average 18.10.2021: 508 coal per container on average 26.12.2021: 492 coal per container on average 24.03.2022: 520 coal per container on average (I opened these containers separately, 2 of them had all three slots filled with coal drops; by coincidence the distribution of the drops in this opening exactly reperensented the drop chances as stated on the wiki and on the article about container contents and drop chances) [EDIT]: 02.07.2022: 488 coal per container on average (two containers had all 3 slots filled with coal) [EDIT]: 20.09.2022: 504 coal per container on average (no containers with all 3 slots filled with coal) -
Soo, since you found your way here, you have probably already heard of Aslain's Modpack, which is - next to the Modstation - widely used to install various modifications for World of Warships. If not - now you have. Aslain was so thoughtful and added a feature to install custom mods, that are not represented in any of these modpacks. Those can be either some mods downloaded from other sources like the forum, or - if you like messing around with the game yourself - your own creations. This feature can be very helpful, since all mods need to be re-installed after every update of the game, which can sometimes be a pain in the bum. I don't know if there is already any documentation of that feature, but I thought it might be helpful to some, so I decided to post it here. It is also possible - but not necessary - to install any other mods from the modpack. This guide also works with any mods, that were previously installed using the Modstation first - however, make sure that after choosing your mods in Aslain's Modpack (or not choosing any mods here at all) and clicking on "continue", the box with the option "Remove all previous mods from the game (strongly advised) - Attention: wipes out everything in res_mods folder!" is NOT checked! It won't work with installing your custom mods first and using the Modstation afterwards, as the Modstation always clears the "res_mods" folder and thus your previously installed mods. Once you have installed Aslain's Modpack, there should now be a dedicated folder for custom mods in your game's installation directory. The default path would be "C:/Games/World_of_Warships/Aslain_Modpack/Custom_mods" - or wherever you have your game installed on your harddrive. In this folder you can place any mods you want to automatically install - either together with any other mods from the modpack, or just on their own. However, keep in mind that you have to follow a certain structure in the directory, to ensure that the mods are installed correctly: In "Custom_mods" you have to put *.zip folders, that contain your mods - including their installation path starting from the "res_mods" directory. Sounds confusing? Maybe I can't think of the proper words to explain. Here's a demonstration using the Comic Sans MS mod that I made: The mod itself consists of two files that should be placed in the "fonts" folder of the game. So you go to the "Custom_mods" folder and create some folders forming the path "Custom_mods/res_mods/gui/fonts", where you put your mod-files. Now right-click on the "res_mods" folder -> Send to -> ZIP-compressed folder. Now you have a *.zip folder inside "Custom_mods" that you can rename however you want, which also contains the path to where the mod should be installed. The remaining "res_mods" folder and its content can now be deleted. Starting the installer of the Modpack again, any mods placed in the "Custom_mods" folder will now automatically be installed regardless of selecting any other mods in the Modpack.

[HowTo] Change the font of texts in the game
comcode3 posted a topic in Modding Tutorials, Guides and Tools (English)
Haven't you always wished you could change the font in the game? No? damn.. But wait no more! Here's a handy guide just for that! I'll demonstrate the installation using the one and only true font to be used for such an endeavor - of course I'm talking about Comic Sans MS - thanks for the inspiration, MeetTheHeavy [NA] Step 1.) Go to "C:\Windows\Fonts" and copy "Comic Sans MS" into the mod folder of your game's installation directory. The default path would be "C:\Games\World_of_Warships\bin\[temporaryNumber]\res_mods\gui\fonts" - if the directory doesn't exist, you can just create it. Also, if you have multiple random numbers in your \bin folder, the highest number is the one you're looking for that contains the current version of the game. Step 2.) There should now be 4 files in your fonts folder. You can get rid of "comici.ttf" and "comicz.ttf" - they are not needed as they contain the italic and bold+italic versions of the font, which are not used in the game. Step 3.) The easiest way to activate the font for the game now is to rename it to the font that is used by default. So rename "comic.ttf" to "Warhelios_Regular.ttf" and "comicbd.ttf" to "Warhelios_Bold.ttf" There we go! That's it! I don't know why you would do that or why I am writing this, but here we are now. Now do it! Disclaimer: Unfortunately, you would have to redo that process after every game update, since the temporary number in the path changes and thus the directory. Also, it doesn't work for every page in the game (e.g. Armory), since those are run by a separate browser. -
We are currently experiencing the third collaboration with Arpeggio of Blue Steel. Let me brake down the history a bit (please correct me, if I made any mistakes. I only know the first collab from tales and stories and I am not that much into anime and collabs) 1st collaboration: You got combat missions for all the ships and commanders that were added: ARP Kongo, ARP Kirishima, ARP Haruna, ARP Hiei, ARP Myoko, ARP Ashigara, ARP Haguro, ARP Nachi, ARP Takao 2nd collaboration: You got combat missions for the following ships and commanders: ARP Kongo, ARP Kirishima, ARP Haruna, ARP Hiei, ARP Myoko Alternatvely you could buy them (or the others) on the premium shop. Also there was a new camouflage for ARP Takao, which you could only get by purchasing the whole ship a second time together with the camouflage (you got a compansation in doubloons, thoug). 3rd collaboration: You got a combat mission for the commander of ARP Kirishima. The following packages are available in the armory: ARP Yamato, ARP Maya, an ARP camouflage for Musashi or a package with all of them. All ARP content (except ARP Yamato, ARP Maya and the ARP camouflage for Musashi) can be purchased on the premium shop. I'm NOT (just) complaining about not getting something for free! BUT I'm complaining about the content being only available for purchase - especially without any further requirements or experience (on higher tiers). There are two types of people: Arpeggio fans, and people that hate/don't care about anime. They can be divided into 2 groups: Those who are willing to purchase the bundles and those who aren't. Anime fan - not willing to purchase (probably because it's too expensive; very sad and disappointing) Anime fan - willing to purchase (great) Non-fan - not willing to purchase (fine) Non-fan - willing to purchase (why should they? Oh right, you can get a T10 ship without having to do or grind anything) We already experienced Puerto Rico in the dockyard. It was not just the announcement, that it *is* possible to get her for free that set up people. It was also that it is possible to get her for doubloons without having to do ANYTHING. Just lay out your credit card and you are good to go. ARP Yamato and Puerto Rico are T10 ships that are sold for money. There isn't even a combat mission that could be purchased for Yamato, maybe only available for T8+ ships (would still be bad, but much better than what we have now) Also there was a bundle on the premium shop once, where you could purchase New Orleans (a T7 Tech Tree cruiser?!) and an XP-Booster plus a permanent camouflage for Des Moines. I really hated to see that, but it didn't upset me enough to stand up. This here is too much now. You can skip the grind with money, but then there is stuff like the research bureau to get some kind of long term goal.. Kinda contradictory, innit? Besides, with Yamato WG picked a ship that overmatches 32mm of armor which reduces the required amount of skill and experience. I really love the game, but I am very dissatisfied and dissappointed by WarGamings sales policy.
