I lost a lot of stars on ranks 8-5.... but from rank 5-1 i consistently managed to keep my star even when losing(prolly because i take 1 dd and half of the other 1 down with me 90% of the time)

Well, im a scrub i know, i usually knifefight other dds, smoke for my fleet, and spot for them, send torpedoes to critical spots to deny space. But well, im hardcarried i guess.

Benson is a must have ship, its very good. Great guns to knife fight other dds, decent torpedoes with decent range, good concealment, good maneurability + good speed, long duration smokes(2minutes), and even able to mount AA consumable with Chull so u can fear no cvs(well but u need to get close to allied ships when ur aa is on cooldown xd).

U need 1 radar cruiser placed stratedically, and no dd will dare to get close to caps, if they get close they die very fast due to focusfire and radar. Also, a good cruiser with a good placed salvo on a dd, can decide wich side dds win.

I think its all about getting the right teams, even if its weekend, in ranked it does not matter that much imo. Me and 2 other guys got rank 1 tonight, and there are few others that are really close, a good day for us i think, even if weekend started

This works on randoms. But not on ranked if u meet a shokaku equally skilled as ursellf, he will shut down any of ur strike attempts from ur "strike lexi"

I used to spot a lot on my cv, but seeing my team just ignoring the spotted dds.... im better using my planes to kill them myself, instead of spotting them.(Well sometimes i still leave a divebomber on a dd spotting him if i think that if i let him go dark he can deal critical damage to my team) Well, from rank 10-5 full strike lexi wont work 90% of the time. From ranks that are above 10, u can run whatever u want on ur cv if ure good, and it will work almost always xd....

Well, before/while sitting in smoke i think about alot of variables: -Where are their dds? have they already launched torps? -Are there any cruiser with long range torps nearby?(ijn cruisers mostly), Have they done a maneuver that looks like they sent torps my way? -Are there any radar cruiser near? -Any German hydro ship near? -Do i have a escape route? -Where is my team positioned? If u think about all those variables and some more, and play it properly, u wont eat torps/being radared in smoke and die. When i talk about random torps, i mean torps that are almost mindlessly shoot out just to try luck, or torps aimed at other allied ships, but ure unlucky enough to cross paths with them(since ure a DD, and u usually are in the first line).

Maybe, someone should create an channel for ranked, and then people could see if there are enough people online for ranked at those ranks.

Being pink means nothing, maybe they are decent players that killed a friendly by accident. And by them griefing and etc.... well ranked can bring out the worst of anyone.. ..

I believe im Below Average... just because of the sheer number of random torps i eat with my benson.....

Go strike, u can still spot with strike setup, and u can also do damage. Its a win/win choice.

Welp. After 105 games i finally managed to reach rank 5... but not enough players to play at rank 5 atm... so ill have to wait a bit i guess :<

Because in random battles, 80% of the people have no idea of how they should play when theres cv in the match. thats the reason i can farm them. Any ship is OP with a skillfull captain

Im one of those *new cv players* and i can tell you that imo cvs are the most underpowered class ingame atm, so easily countered if u have a brain.

Do what this guy says. If u fail to land a single on a bb only 4 km away, then u are doing something wrong.

dropsiq OP plz nerf I needed like 73 battles for rank VIII.... i think im done with kutuzov in ranked xd... even if i do fine i tend to lose a lot xd.... back to benson/shokaku i guess..

GG wp, u were really good playing cv, i tend to remember the names of the cvs that knows their stuff(Im not very good cv player, but i can tell if a cv player is good just by playing against him/her). Btw, with ur skill at cv, u can easily make it to rank 10 very fast imo xD, but at rank 10 u better switch to other class because the queue waiting times for cv are really long atm. Once u reach rank 10, that ends(at least atm) only decent cvs have made it into 10(if some of those lexis/non15points makes it into 10, they will just be food and deranked)

Ranked is not that much about skill(ofc skill is part of it), its just determination to grind it..... If an awfull player like me is scaling in the ranks, u all can do it, do not fall into depair. Just try to have fun playing, if u win then good, if u lose...well it doesnt matter, just let it go and move onto next game.

Even without being AA specced, most of the ships used in ranked have very good AA. Ships are really grouped together in ranked.(play some cv and u will know what means for a cv having ships grouped xd). U can always go for the dds tho...

My first game this season was a 12 dd, 2 bb game.... And since that i've had few 10 dds games. Kutuzov(if u dont have it)- U have range( u may need it), Smoke, and the gun arcs are amazing.

Theres not really need for fighters to protect the fleet(unless very low tier CV battles like T4-T5). To counter a CV, ur ships just have to sail in packs of 4-6 and the AA will be enough to make them laugh at any plane coming to them. U dont really use fighters to spot, better use empty dive bombers(they are faster once they drop their load).
