    Player status in a clan

I don't know about the official policy but apparently we don't bother with it. You're either in one of the executive roles or you're midshipman and Bob's your uncle.

Yes and no. Definitely better than the Minos. You also have more plating than the Worcester which is a double edged sword: On the one hand you can bounce 381mm guns and most DD caliber HE, on the other hand you're less likely to get away with just overpenetrations if a BB catches you broadside since the ship has better armor and is a big fatter than a Worcester. So don't try to catch BB AP k ? ^^

Education works fine too. Though that is more conducive to existential despair, depends on the person. ^^ WAKE UP SHEEPLE! Reality is fake news perpetrated by elitist unicorns and liberal forumites under the direction of George Soros and the UN! How about an experiment ? There are plenty of WoWS-streamers, CC or not. Take as many as you want that don't hide their stats and for a particular day note their nr of battles, winrate and avg dmg. Then look for all their post-battle screens in the stream recording and note down the dmg numbers, and win or loss. Now you have some numbers to check the validity of the stats WG puts out and weather they diverge from 50% too much. You can also watch the complete recording and clip out the times where they do the magic woo-woo that rigs the MM for them to show it to all of us. If you know what to look for and there is no such thing as a unicum either your stats will prove they have "normal numbers", are rigging stuff or you will be able to show us the magic trick. If you're really sure of yourself and tired of us forumites calling your "facts" BS the 1-2 hrs per streamer should be worth it right ?

When is the next clan battle season?

Probably in 8.6 or 8.7 so in ~1.5-3 months.

    USS Helena Build.

As long as she gets PT, IFHE and CE a Helena will perform when played well. The rest of the recommended skills aren't strictly required and just make her even better (no AR on her is a crime though and you sir deserve to go to a federal penitentiary for it. ^^)

How do you get the Azur Lane girls?!?!

Completionist is the word you're looking for.

    Des Moines... help please!!!!!

DM isn't that much about dmg-farming (though it does this exceptionally well) Especially in ranked, cb and competitive it's an area-denial and control ship. In any case gl, with this much time left and your performance you'll rank out without any problems :)

    A Replay - Have a look....

This is not something the gearing can cheat on even if he wants to (unless he's literally hacking the servers or real-time manipulating the exchanges between the server and your client). The torp to the nose would have saturated it (bow+hull hp = 0) and almost all of your shots seem to have landed on the superstructure, which has very few hp on it's own. Given that your first salvo does decent dmg and the subsequent hit on the mid-hull does dmg too i suspect you managed to completely drain the hp of the superstructure here with your first 1-1 1/2 salvos. The only thing I'm not sure about is the one salvo landing a bit futher to the rear, i suspect it's a mix of hits on the superstructure and aa/rear-turret/launcher (didn't see exactly where it hit). Btw you shouldn't have smoked up in that situation to kill the Yama, especially not with 2 dds last spotted that close-by. A (imo) better option would have been to hunt down the gearing and then use your smoke to disengage.
  9. I don't think this could have been any more clutch than this. ^^ Btw anyone notices the oddity on the ship ? ^^

    Good aa change on pts

At least there's a reason for that. ^^
  12. If i'm not low hp already that sounds like DD-christmas to me ^^
  13. Shoot the water actually. If you aim directly at the waterline (maybe even a bit into the water) your shells can arm in the ocean, penetrate the citadel and detonate there. Works best at close ranges when your dispersion is decent.

    USS Helena Build.

While it is true that they CAN be helpful their extremely limited range (anything you can hit with secondaries is well within in your hydro range and can't go stealth anyways), small number and horrible accuracy basically means that at most they will finish off a very low health DD that is either yoloing you (very rare) or that you have managed to bum-rush in his smoke (rare) and that (let's be honest here) your next salvo with the main battery would have finished off anyways. Chances are even if he's yoloing you either he's gonna get his torps off or he dies before that regardless of your secondaries. Just to give you a comparison: The Scharn/Gneisenau is where some people argue you can run a full secondary spec that actually makes the secondaries useful. Many think otherwise so it's debatable with those ships. Check out the number and base-range of their secondaries, and compare them to the Helenas while keeping in mind that a) Those guys are spending at least 8 skill points + an upgrade slot (all of which boost secondary accuracy and range) on the secondaries alone, b) those are the brawliest and (i'd say tied with the Sinop) most tanky BBs at that tier so they like getting in close and personal and can weather taking the fire to do so (if done correctly) So either pick BFT for the extra AA, which i wouldn't recommend since your base AA isn't that great. (It's not at a Cleveland-level yet and your fighters are more powerful as a deterrent) or don't pick it at all. Cruiser secondaries are a "nice to have". Sometimes they are helpful, 95% of the time they are performing at most as AA guns. Especially with squishy, cover-focused flamethrowers like the Helena.
  15. Mopping up isolated ships: How not to do it.

    USS Helena Build.

Note that the Boise gets a super-heal and thus in contrast to the Helena benefits massively from SI. And yes, BFT is only good if you're a gunboat with caliber < 140mm or if you're speccing into AA (and either don't have points for ManualAA or already have it) or fully into secondaries.

AP bombs from CV. How to counter?

The problem with BBs that have large citadels (cruisers) is that as long as the CV has a bit of time to line up his drop well you're gonna take massive dmg. This is both due to the relative size of the citadel and the fact that those ships tend to be on the lower end of the maneuverability spectrum (you need DD levels to actually do any meaningful dodging if the CV is any good) So how do you counter that ? The only way is to make sure the CV does NOT have that time. I.e. sail with high-aa ships. use fighter consumables if you have them. Make sure the CV has to stay in your AA as long as possible before he can drop and can't just approach using a mountain as cover from your AA (this is more for ships like DM, Worchester or HIV)
  18. rnat

    USS Helena Build.

I'd say either PM or direction center, depending on your preferences and how often CVs want to eat you. EL is another option if you find yourself ambushing cruisers or farming broadside BBs at under 12km frequently.
  19. rnat

    USS Helena Build.

You misinterpreted that (the wiki is poorly worded in this regard). The spotting range (not detectability range) referenced for the upgrade refers to you maximum viewing (i.e. render-) range (think the length/size of your viewing cone on the minimap).

    USS Helena Build.

I wouldn't pick SI unless you plan to use the captain for the higher tier ships (extra radar and heals), you tend to have enough fighters, hydro and DefAA to last you a match imo. If that captain is meant to go on the Worchester in the end don't use EM (i don't really consider it too useful on any of the CLs but it's certainly an option), i'd recommend JAT instead if you plant to pick DE.
  21. Fair comparison: base exp in case of a win/loss for both of you (rounded): him: 2.250 base exp (win) ~ 1500 base exp (loss) you: 1500 base exp (win) ~ 1000 base exp (loss) Yes you would have had about the same base exp than him that match if your team won. Than means he would have gotten as much base exp on a LOSS as you would on a win in this case.
  22. Don't be ridiculous! Water does not cling to the sides of a cylinder. Inside OR outside. It's science! The earth is a bowl carried by 4 elephants on the back of a giant turtle floating through space. It's the only model that makes sense. I mean i even found pictures of it online (not the ones faked by NASA and WGs sentient MM) Btw is anyone else unable to read Beastofwars comments in anything but a Trump-voice ?
  23. there, fify It would be so nice if they chanced the accuracy from determining the interval between dmg-output to influencing how likely your ship is to deal the next chunk to a low-health plane. That would make AA actually effective imo (with some additional tweaking of the numbers) instead of having a decent chance to not loose anything to the actual flak if you bail on time.

    Newbie says 'Thanks'

That would make sense. They changed it so that you can only get detonated at 75% HP or below. Alternatively the armor on T1s is flimsy enough that you might have just citadelled him through the bow (Black Swan AP overmatches T1s) and rekt him that way. There's no more AP at T1 and all T1s had their cit removed relatively recently iirc so neither option is open to you anymore at that tier. If you want a similar experience shoot at the lower part of the bow of an Omaha from the front with a Fiji, Myoko, Pepsi ect.
