Nope, Kaiser, König and Bayern are missing as well. All I can see are some weird fantasy ships that for some reason happen to have the same names.

As if I needed even less incentive to go past tier 7. Nevermind the armour, but what the hell you mean "406 mm"? There were no plans whatsoever to arm any of those battlecruisers with 406 mm guns. Should be 420 mm guns on all three high tier ships. There is not even any overmatch advantage compared to 406s, so why make them even more unhistorical? Come on, you can soft-stat balance them all you want, but at least get the calibre right! Also, Brandenburg, simple question: why?
-
It seems they have not yet posted it here in the dev blog section, but there the stats for the new German battlecruisers as well as some other ships are now available. https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/176 Edit: Nevermind, date just got f***ed up.

Austro-Hungarian possible "short" tech tree
BruceRKF replied to capt_and's topic in General Discussion
I absolutely agree with the sentiment of having less prominent navies getting limited tech trees that only go up to mid tiers(-ish). However, unfortunately WG can't be bothered to model tech trees that do not go all the way up to 10. Since almost all their content is suited to high tiers, lower tier ships are just not profitable enough. WG have brought that on themselves of course with their pampering almost exclusively to high tiers. -

I hope they at least change the pennant number on Groningen to D813... -
No need to buy special signals and Free XP as no FXP ships any more

Any information what Napoli will be for? It seems she might come with the next update. -
Indeed, and I think that is why it's a poorly designed skill. It benefits those with faster turrets more (which don't need it as much) than ships with slower turrets which really need it. Should either be a decrease in turret rotation time instead of an increase of turn rate or as it was before the same gain in turn rate for every ship, imo. Sorry for off-topic (kinda).

I haven't played Lazo in a while which is why I did not notice earlier, but it seems there are textures missing on her forward funnel. At first I thought it might have to do with mods, but I uninstalled all of them and it's still the same. Screenshots are from an unmodded game. Anyone else having that bug?

[12.6] Simply Grey Paint + Historical camouflage v.1
BruceRKF replied to Lutjens41's topic in Visual Mods
Btw, I just bought Vermont because I have too many credits anyway, so why not. You need help with anything related to her? -
[12.6] Simply Grey Paint + Historical camouflage v.1
BruceRKF replied to Lutjens41's topic in Visual Mods
I only have Iron cross camouflages for Z-31 and Maerker, but on them they get replaced by the standard Premium camo indeed. Couldn't be bothered to buy Vermont yet, despite having finished the grind, sorry. -
New German battlecruiser tech tree line coming next.
BruceRKF replied to koliber_1984's topic in General Discussion
I agree with you from a gameplay point of view. My argument is from a historical pov, since we would have far less paper and fantasy ships, if we had more lower tier ships. However, that ship has long sailed. -

- by the time Scharnhorst was commissioned, navies had mostly stopped differentiating between battleships and battlecruisers, since the technology was advanced enough to get both speed and protection at once. Capital ships from then onwards were pretty much all fast battleships. With a bit of goodwill, you can classify some of the German battlecruisers as fast battleships as well. Even Hood could already be classified as a such, since her armour was vastly improved over previous RN battlecruisers. So, Scharnhorst is indeed a full-on battleship that just happens to have smaller guns (although there were plans to rearm her class with 380 mm guns, as we see in the game with Gneisenau). There are some borderline cases, like the Dunkerque class, but even so. - I have to agree with WG here. It is better to at least use actual blueprints as the basis instead of completely making something up. You have to remember that Germany was defeated in WW2, so no more planning ships. The Soviets could dream up more stuff in the 40s and 50s despite having few chances to get anything built. - The alternative US battleship line also consists of designs from the 1910s and 20s (South Dakota class 1920 and the Tillmann battleship proposals reaching from the the early 1910s to the mid 20s). The advantage WG have with the US BBs is of course that there were heavy modernisations made for many of the old US dreadoughts in real life, so they could orient themselves there for how the ships might look modernised. The Germans obviously never had the opportunity to modernise any of their WW1 BBs, so WG had to make stuff up. Imo, they have done quite badly with Kaiser, König and Bayern in this respect and the new high tiers BCs are not exactly beauties either (especially that tier 8, wtf). At least they mostly left the historical lower tier ships alone this time. As for the armour scheme, all German BBs from WW2 had the same kind of distributed armour (including the turtleback) as the WW1 ships, since Germany couldn't develop anything new during the Versailles treaty era and was therefore not up to date with other navies which mostly used all-or-nothing armour. - I agree that branching only the lower tiers and bringing them together at tier 7 with the Gneisenau (not 8, imo) would be preferable, but WG has set their sights on only introducing tech trees that go all the way up to 10. They would only leave out lower tiers rather than the other way round. Which is sad. - The blueprints "suddenly" having bigger guns comes from the realisations of the war. They had already noticed that bigger guns might be needed and therefore built the Bayern class, as well as designing the Ersatz Yorck class, but wanted to go even bigger. Hope I could help! -

BruceRKF replied to koliber_1984's topic in General Discussion
The tier 7 (Ersatz Yorck class battlecruiser) was under construction (laid down in 1915) and the tiers 8 to 10 were designs considered for construction in 1918, but ultimately deemed too large for German infrastructure to handle, nevermind the shortage of resources because of the war. I'm pretty sure in the context of WoWs they are considered to have been built in the late 1910s. -

Indeed. Ms. Wibowo sure has some serious talent. That cake looks fantastic! In any case, this seems like a great event for Belfast visitors/WoWs fans. -

BruceRKF replied to koliber_1984's topic in General Discussion
Well, they are based on 1910s designs, so that would explain the casemates. You are still kinda right to feel irked though, since by the time of WW2 it is likely the caesmates would have been removed. Edit: On the other hand, Warspite for example retained some of her casemates after her refit, so it's not out of the question. -
Update 0.10.7, dockyard, "Dutch cruisers. Part 2" event.

Nice comparison, maybe add Odin into the mix, since she was also tier 8? -
I just like having screenshots of memorable games, but no worries, at least I got the xp for it and I remember it was about 200k damage. Not being able to compliment my teammates was the real bummer, since it doesn't happen too often that you get really good teamplay and being able to hand out compliments instead of reports for toxic chat is much more pleasing ;) Anyway, thanks for the answer!

Saw this thread only now. Had the issue three times this update as well, just posted my most recent one in the bug section. Could have done without, since it seems they are on it already.

How dare you speaking sensibly? That's not something we do around here! -
Just had a pretty good great game. Unfortuantely, I don't know how good exactly, since the game would not let me see the end result screens. Couldn't compliment some of my teammates who played very well either because of that. It's the third time this happened this update.

BruceRKF replied to koliber_1984's topic in General Discussion
We have been waiting for 6 years for the Imperial German flag. I still don't see why the Russians get different flags for Imperial and Soviet navies, but the Germans don't get an alternative for their Imperial navy. Would indeed be a nice opportunity to change that. -

So out of those, it should be 4531 or 4532 then? Anyway, thanks for the source. Still doesn't justify that catastrophic superstructure on the t8. From a first glance my theory for the t9 is L20e alpha-ish. Do you concur or have any idea what else it could be? Maybe also one of those on your source? -

Well, they gave her an Atlantic bow, unfortunately, but I can let that slide, I guess. Edit: Could the tier 9 be some kind of WG version of the L 20e α (which of course is a battleship, not a battlecruiser)? -
