In terms of performance, both are quite average with strengths and weaknesses, but also very different from each other. As for which one to choose: Roma all the way. Two reasons: was actually built and is way prettier. Just remember to deactivate the Kobayashi camo in the camo filter menu if you want to get it. So you can enjoy the economics bonus without having to look at the bloody thing.

Which is the reason why I was worried, since normally I play ranked until I get the flag. Luckily, this time the flag is not interesting to me (probably because it also has to do with subs), so I don't even get the feeling of missing out. And I can avoid the classic ranked toxicity. And, best for last: no subs!

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance

Cruisers having "fun", being outnumbered by battleships 3:1. -
I actually prefer this cover version. More intensity and the band name seems kinda fitting as well...

PSA: Recent community incidents and our actions

That is not an apology and to me it just says "CCs are gone, good riddance, let's carry on as before." So, exactly as expected. -
LittleWhiteMouse leaves the CC program

That would be every single player these days (e.g. subs)... -
I know the flag is controversial for some because of history (not sure I agree with that sentiment, especially since it is even the CURRENT flag of the Japanese Navy, but that is another matter). Would be nice if you could offer two versions of the mod at some point in the future, one with and one without the flag. Anway, thanks for your work and your consideration!

@TheKingOfUmGreat mod, adds to immersion which I value highly. After getting rid of all those ugly camos, now I can also have flags you can actually look at without being sick. Thanks! One question though: I have used a mod to change the Japanese flag into the Rising Sun flag for a while now and that mod and this one overwrite each other's dds file, so I can only have one or the other. Is there any way to use both at once?

Update 0.10.7: Submarines in Ranked Battles
BruceRKF replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
The US dreadnoughts retain a higher percentage of their maximum speed while turning, so there's that (not sure if it's only the tech tree ships though). They are still awfully slow, but it's something. -
Update 0.10.7: Submarines in Ranked Battles
BruceRKF replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
How about the missing textures on Lazo? The bug has been there since 10.5 and still no fix? -
Congress could have been interesting if it wasn't just a completely lack effort in her (model) construction. Alaska minus two barrels - done. If they had actually modelled one of the preliminary designs for Alaska with seven guns (slightly smaller, guns 2x2 fore, 1x3 aft), now that might have been worthwhile. As it is - big fat nope.

Does anyone have a friend called RON for sale?
BruceRKF replied to Profilus's topic in General Discussion
For me it's Danish Krone. Since I'm not buying anything anyway ever again, it doesn't matter, apart from being amusing. -
I wonder why not actually bring an Oregon City class cruiser at tier 9. The old tier 9 Baltimore worked just fine, so there would not be much of a problem. I imagine the guns will be the Des Moines auto loading guns, but why give her an ahistorical gun makeover in the first place? Gibraltar: I guess a UK high tier super-cruiser(-ish) ship was inevitable. Probably UK light cruiser-like AP, but on big guns. Could be interesting, but could also be broken (one way or another). We shall see. It looks kinda wrong though, even more so than Goliath. Not a fan of this WG fantasy. As for Bearn: don't care about CVs, but at least she's a real ship.

Time to reconsicer Mogami with 152mm guns?
BruceRKF replied to Todger_Fairmile's topic in General Discussion
155 mm Mogami is actually one of the very few ships that has not been screwed over by the skill rework. Her fire-starting potential is not stellar, but she has amazing HE DPM and can pen 38 mm. Slow turrets, yes, but you can always take the module and the skill and bring it down enough. She is fine with those guns. If anything, the 203 mm version needs help. -
Hi everyone! I am thinking about making a kind of catalogue of my whole fleet with screenshots in various camos and from various angles for every ship. I would like the screenshots for the individual ships to be from the same angles. The "standard" angle will just be the view you get when clicking on the camouflage tab, no problem there. However, if I want to take shots from different angles, I have to rotate the camera with the mouse and will never get the exact same angle due to inaccuracy of my hand movement. Zooming in and out works perfectly fine in equal steps via mouse wheel or Page Up/Down. So, the big question: Does anybody know of a way to get something similar for camera rotation left/right, so that you can move the view point in equal steps? I know I am being a tad OCD here, but it can't hurt to ask
-
Yeah, I tried that, but whether you go port, exterior or signals/flags, you only get the same side of the ship to look at in all cases. So you kind of get various perspectives, but ultimately still only from the starboard side.

Worth a try, thanks!

The return and economic nerf of Missouri.
BruceRKF replied to Miscommunication_dept's topic in General Discussion
Good enough. I haven't read all posts in this thread, but a good part of them and a lot of the discussions seem to be about how people think that even with the missions, the credit income wil be nerfed (for existing Missouris) and for newer players there is no reason to buy her because of the reduced credit income (despite her being a historical and beautiful ship). Turns out, many people did not actually want Missouri, but a credit-printing machine. -
The return and economic nerf of Missouri.
BruceRKF replied to Miscommunication_dept's topic in General Discussion
Are people really that desperate for credits that they criticise WG for bringing Missouri back without the absurd credit income? Tier 8 and 9 premiums are decent credit earners anyway, you don't need an extra bonus on top. The ship itself isn't particularly strong either. Yes, you have the radar, but it is a circumstancial tool. Iowa, on the other hand gets a plane and improved heal. I would argue that Iowa is the stronger ship in most situations. Bringing a historical (and gorgeous) ship back for people who don't have her is a good thing. Of course, she will be far too expensive, like most premiums, but that's another case. -
Developer Bulletin for Update 0.10.7
BruceRKF replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
The end of my playing days are drawing closer. Subs in ranked, next will be subs in random and that's quits for me. Well, I guess I could play Narai exclusively after that, since there are no tier 7 subs (as of yet)... -
Eendracht und Celebes: Kreuzer für Kampfaufträge in 0.10.6
BruceRKF replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News und Ankündigungen
Soviets still can't afford to finish painting Lazo's funnel...

Her increased DPM is exclusively based on the tier 9 module however, without it is identical to Cleveland. Bit more health (plus the heal), slightly better AA plus half a knot of speed is all the advantage she has over Cleveland. Cleveland is stealthier, more maneuverable, has better firing angles, faster turrets and is a smaller target. If you were to give Cleveland a heal and the tier 9 module, I think I would prefer her over Seattle. In fact, a Fargo class ship at tier 9 would be quite nice, now that I think about it.
