Actually what WG did require quite some balls, to admit publicly that they screwed up the line and they gonna rework it, so we get a ship line to enjoy. I know dozens of companies in the industry that would have released the broken line and then tried to fix it afterwards over the course of weeks and month, just because there was some kind of expected release date by the players. To be honest, i have no idea why so many wows player [edited]about WG and that they do not care or that they are only after your money. I have played a lot of games in my life and i am a gamer since more than 20+ years and i can honestly say, that in my opinion WG does a damn good job by listening to the players, taken their feedback serious, implementing suggestions and ideas and in addition everyone of us get a shitload of free stuff all the time. For some it might be "only" Flags and Camos or other stuff, but this is what everyone of us need and like to put on our ships, so it is not some useless junk, but actually useful stuff. And think about how much of this stuff you get all the time from missions and events and the Dragon Flags are around the corner. They are damn amazing and you get a lot of them. With these flags it actually will be fun to grind commander xp to get a couple of 15+ point commanders. So give WG the benefit of doubt and let's see how the new ship line will turn out. Who knows, maybe it will be even more amazing than you expected the old line would be. -

As far as i know is this modpack around for a while now and it is on the russian main page. It used to have an installer in english too but the developer discontinued it because there are so many modpacks for the english speaking user already. It's possible or maybe likely, that the modpack developer will offer an english version again once the demand is there. But you have to agree, that it makes little sense to offer an english installer if 95%+ of the modpack user are russians. ^^ [EDIT] It should also be noted that in the WG modpack is some mod (i believe it is related to plane names iirc) that change your client and ingame voiceover to russian. This should be fixed asap by the developer.

Hola! Why does everyone use Aiming Systems Modification 1 on Fletcher and Gearing and consider it a no-brainer? The +5% secondary firing range and -5% secondary dispersion do nothing, because there are no secondaries this upgrade could buff. The +20% faster torpedo tube traverse speed reduce the time from 7.2 seconds to 6 seconds on a 180 degree traverse, this is nothing and not noticable at all in a battle. -7% dispersion sound nice, but we talk here about +6 meter dispersion on maximum range. It's well known that you don't hit much on max range, these 6 meter will not change it and the dispersion is pure RNG, so it does not really matter with this high firing rate anyway. So why does everyone use this upgrade as a no-brainer and every guidemaker and content contributor recommends to use this upgrade? I switched to the AA Guns Modification 2 and oh boy, it's golden to shoot down these pesky spotter planes over mountains from BBs and even more golden in CV games, especially combined with Defensive AA Fire consumable. Maybe it's a relict from very early game versions, pretty much like the rudder shift upgrade while the propulsion mod is so much better for most DDs?! Do people just pick it out of habbit and don't even test the other upgrade mods?

I play pretty much only DDs and i know what you talk about. The problem here is, a DD is what, 6-10km maybe 12km away and in reach of radar and torps, but if cruiser and BBs sit at perhaps 17km+ i wanna see what torps and radar will hit them. It would be a heck of a challenge to get so close to them to be in torp range and then happen what? Right, enemy cruiser pop radar and you have made a couple of new friends, when a e.g. Des Moines and a Minotaur with a ROF like a Fletcher hammer HE shells at you. And even you are not spotted by radar, it will take a good amount of minutes to try to sneak all the way around the map to torp their smoke. Naah, i really do not like what i've seen. But Babykim posted something interesting and i really hope they cancel the smoke for the RN line entirely. Less HE spam is fine too, because as a DD i wanna be the only one who spams HE. -

As i said, one of these achievs does not give you flags but 1 million credits (see the first post for the rewards!). So this is 1 million credits if you do the 'Big Roll' achievement and then, when enough people on the server also got this achiev it will turn from silver to golden (check the main website status!) and everyone who got this achiev prior to this moment, will get 1 bonus million credits. And people talk about the once or twice, because you get this 1 million (or these rewards in general) as soon as you completed the achievement and leave the battle to port BUT it seems that you do not get the bonus million right away when the achiev turns gold, but after a little wile. A wild guess, WG runs a script that checks maybe once every few hours who got the achiev and then award the bonus reward and so there is a delay between achievement turns gold and reward is assigned. -
Support this, maybe we have luck and WG listen.

Once you meet the conditions of an achiev you get this achiev and the reward for it = silver Once enough people on EU have made the same achiev, it will turn gold = you get the same reward as for silver again as bonus You can see the status of the achievs and silver/gold on the main website on the top right, not in the forums. Silver has nothing to do with credits and gold has nothing to do with doubloons, it's just the color of the achiev medal on the website. [EDIT] And what you get per achiev is listed in the first post of this thread. Basically 25 flags of a certain type per achiev plus 25 of the same flags when it get gold. -
Hola! Detonations are the most frustrating mechanic in the game because it can cause high credit loss or lost battles purely the hands of RNG. Flags are nice, but you get them after the damage is already done. However, there is currently a way to get protection against detonations, at least to a certain point and this is the 'Magazine Modification 1' (-70% chance to detonate) upgrade in slot 1. Unfortunately the other options in this slot are way too important and valuable, especially for DD and Cruiser, that the MM1 is no real option. However, Slot 4 has already all kind of protection upgrades and MM1 would fit in here perfectly and players could actually make use of the MM1 upgrade. WG, please move Magazine Modification 1 to Slot 4 and end this detonation frustration. Thank you!

Then why did you detonate twice today? There are flags for that The question is NOT if there are flags for that (which you get AFTER you died to detonation). The point is, there is already a very good solution implemented in the game by WG, so they know about the detonation problem, but they just put the upgrade into the wrong slot. If you do not like it, don't use it, simple as that. But this "there are flags" is not helpful at all, especially since you seem to not even follow your own advice and detonated twice today!

I think 25 Zulu Hotel is not so bad. To me this is the most valuable flag and i hope it stacks with the dragon flag. There was no price awarded yet for the 'Big Roll' achiev that also turned gold. -

Not in all cases. I for example play more or less only DDs and to buy a CV i have to research at least the CV before i can buy it. I have to use Free XP to do so, since i don't wanna grind a BB to get the XP to research the CV. Too bad that i would have to spend 8400 Free XP to get the 5000 Free XP achiev, eh ;) I freaking hate CV and BB gameplay so i cba to grind for this, especially that it is not even 100% certain that you need the 9 achievs to get the 10th as well. So the event is over for me too and i hope once the achievs turn gold i do not miss out some great stuff because i simply dislike to play some types of ships. -
If the common opinion about the current cruiser lines is Russian > Japanese > German > American, where does the RN will fit in?

So i have 8 achievements but 'Run! Admiral, Run!' will be impossible for me to get, because i hate CV and as a more or less DD-only player i'm not willing to buy Cruiser, BBs and finally a CV just to derp around in co-op. So there is no way for me to get 'King of the Party' achievement? -
And they did an excellent job. If they only would do the same with the propulsion.

How to shoot into smoke without detection.

This! It is often very easy to guess where the enemy DD is, especially US DD because of the high rate of fire. You zoom in and watch for a couple of seconds where exactly the shots come from and then you fire at this exact spot. Same goes for torping smoke screens, i usually don't lauch torps blindly into a smoke but look for a while where the enemy DD is and if he is stationary. -
Please find a way to discourage the [edited] of lemming trains!

The flaw here is, lemmings don't fight. They are highly motivated to push one side and as soon as they see one DD or even one single torp coming into their direction, the panic reflex is triggered and the lemmings start to run around like chicken without head and try to hide behind each other so they get shot last. The worst thing is, that the higher the tier the worse the lemmings get. -
Hola! I did some research and it seems that TA is considered a good or at least viable commander skill on the Gearing, which reduces the torpedo range from 16.5km to 13.2km and accelerate the torpedoes from 66 knots to 71 knots. I use this on my Gearing too, but i'm not really sure if it's worth to use this perk over Vigilance or Superintendent on a 15 point commander. According to the given formula in the WoWs Wiki to calculate the reaction time for torpedoes it seems like TA is a very tiny improvement. The reaction time (the time from the moment the torps are detected to reach a stationary target, which is 1.4km on Gearing) of the normal 66 knots torps is 8.15 seconds, while the reaction time of the 71 knots accelerated torps is 7.58 seconds. This is only a difference of 0.57 seconds. Of course this time varies depending of the direction of the target moving. What is your opinion on TA? Is it worth on a 15 point commander or did you skill TA later as second 3rd row skill on your 18 point commander?

Does anyone know if there is a list/sheet with the required ship research XP per nation and ship line? Like for example, how much XP are required from Erie I to Des Moines X, but for all lines. Similar to the Commander XP in the Wiki. Thanks! -

Kinda, like the low tier map with this big zone in which you have to be in but maybe 33% smaller zone, that get active after 60 seconds. if you push out all enemies and cap you won -or- by killing all enemies -or- more %-damage done. Anything is better than this 2 cap zones and camping the rest of the match. -
Hola! If i look at Benson, Fletcher, Khabarovsk and so on, they all look quite decent with Type 1 and Type 5 Camo. Actually Fletcher looks amazing with Type 5 Camo. The Gearing on the other hand looks like a rusty washed-up and worn out piece of trash. Shouldn't the flagship of a line look amazing or at least kinda good so it's a joy to look at her and take her out for some kills? In fact, Gearing is so ugly, that it's the only ship that make me use mods to remove her camo and slap a skin on it. WG, would you PLEASE polish up this nice ship and give her the looks she deserve? You did it with Fletcher, why not with Gearing?

Oh btw, the Gearing has one HUGE downside -> http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/60657-why-is-the-gearing-so-fugly/ EDIT My biggest concern about the Gearing was the broken guns you hear so much about. I have now played about 200 games in the Gearing and i have not once lost a gun completely and i get shot a lot due to my very aggressive playstyle.
