At least he has the excuse of being new to the game. I've seen so many players with 10k+ games and way worse stats - they are the real problem at high tier, because the newbie can learn and improve but these veterans with 40% are hopeless griefer. But the game became so trash in every regard (cvs, subs, op superships, and so on), that these new whales don't matter.

Super Container Loot Thread [ topics merged ]
ThePurpleSmurf replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
EU: 2nd TYL container of the day gave me 15'000 coal. NA: two weeks ago from a More Resources, 50 French Riviera camos (that's one of the weaker camos, like 100% XP / 75% CXP / 50% FXP or something like this) -

Well, you can not complain that Apollo is using clickbait titles. You always know exactly what his threads are about before you click on the link.

Did WG drop the player anniversary gifts/rewards?
ThePurpleSmurf posted a topic in General Discussion
I have cake day today, 6 years of WoWs (not proud of it). All the years in the past after the first 2 games on cake day it was common to get a bunch of these white camos with 50% to everything as well as a coupon (30% IIRC) for the premium shop. Not long ago I had a several months long hiatus so perhaps I missed the news about that WG maybe dropped this tradition?! Update Apparently WG is using a different type of calendar or time measurement, because their days do not start at Midnight but somewhere between 18:00 and 05:00 the next day. I just hopped into Co-op to see if there is news on the anniversary front and look what arrived … -
Did WG drop the player anniversary gifts/rewards?
ThePurpleSmurf replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
As we already speculated above, the start of the anniversary probably takes the time of the registration into account and not just the date. It's prone to cause confusion and probably some unnecessary support tickets (or forum threads line this one), but nothing too troublesome. -
Did WG drop the player anniversary gifts/rewards?
ThePurpleSmurf replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
Yeah I thought the same, but then they should show the exact date with time and not just the date on the profile page. But then again, daily resets are different for daily login reward and e.g. mission reset or Armory reset. Event missions often start sometime a day and not when the "WoWs day" starts and so on. WG just like to randomize everything and confuse people with it. If WG is consistent at one thing then it's being their inconsistency. -

I've updated the first post. The anniversary just started a bit delayed. -
Did WG drop the player anniversary gifts/rewards?
ThePurpleSmurf replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
That's from anniversary year 4 (2020) and year 5 (2021), screenshots have the date of May, 16th I'll contact support tomorrow and see what's going on. Maybe there was a change and I missed it. -
Did WG drop the player anniversary gifts/rewards?
ThePurpleSmurf replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
I played the day I registered. I also have received the rewards in the past years, always on the same day, May 16th and I believe I have even screenshots of some of them. And of course do I know that I have to play games to receive the rewards. That's what I said above, first game of the day awarded the white camos, second game awarded a premium shop coupon. Both with their own popup notification. You know how this works, you received them too, so did anyone else who plays this game for longer than a year. -

You can hover your mouse over your name (or any name of a forum member) on your avatar here in the forum (left side where your profile pic is) and a tooltip will show you when you registered your WG account. However, this is your WG account, not necessarily your WoWs account. That's why you see sometimes people with 2012 as register date, those are usually WoT players. The exact WoWs register date can be seen ingame on your profile/summary page top left corner. Here is a screenshot from my account as example, that I have uploaded to the forum a couple of months ago for my 10k random games thread. -
You are late to the party. Most codes only work for a certain period of time (usually during an official stream) or have a redeem limit (set amount of accounts that can redeem the code).

As mentioned in the egg hunt news, already last week, they check all winners of the physical prices and announce them next Friday (06 May 2022). If you refer to the normal and random rewards, the complete list was published last week as well. All the information can be found in the egg hunt news on the main website.

Mod to see if the players in the battle have karma points?
ThePurpleSmurf replied to Siagor's topic in General Discussion
That's pointless. Reports don't harm or punish anyone, because Karma does nothing. Reports are purely to vent off some steam. -
This information is already on the website. There are 2 sections, one for each week. You have to click the link in the egg hunt news (top of the page, below the counter) for a complete list of winners. The only info that is not available yet are the top price winners.

Who said anything about you can't cheat in this game? It's possible to cheat in any game and exactly this is why they take their time to ensure it didn't happen in this event. As it was said multiple times in this forum. The first week leader is a streamer and known player and he has VOD on his stream that are publicly available. You can go there, watch all of the stream and count along how many tokens he got. There is no speculation, you can verify it yourself. But you don't wanna do this, because you just want to spill some BS over the forum because this is what trolls do.
-
WG said that they will check every winner of the top prizes thoroughly to ensure there was no cheating going on. Now that they do exactly this people get impatient and pressure them - that's pretty childish IMO. But maybe you are just team witch hunt, like this troll who is haunting the forum and doesn't get tired with his accusations, because he can not wrap his head around that people invest more time in the game than he does.

Separating economic bonuses from visual customizations (DB 318)
ThePurpleSmurf replied to YabbaCoe's topic in Development Blog
Yeah but they would be replaced by token/booster. So instead of camos for visuals they would/could hand out XP or credits booster. Of course they could still give out new visuals as e.g. mission rewards. I wouldn't mind to pay 10k or 15k credits for a visual per game but WG being WG, they'll probably exaggerate as usual and slap a 80k or 100k price tag on it. -
Separating economic bonuses from visual customizations (DB 318)
ThePurpleSmurf replied to YabbaCoe's topic in Development Blog
@YabbaCoe From the Dev blog … Does this mean that visuals become expendable camos that we must buy (if so, is a price known yet?) and are consumed per game just like right now or does it mean the visuals are not consumed and they are permanent once we acquired the visuals from a camo? -
New Devblog, nerfs to popular ships, buffs to PA DDs and...
ThePurpleSmurf replied to Jethro_Grey's topic in General Discussion
I don't know, I'm not a history guy. But Gearing is way too fat/wide and handles differently than YY and from what I've heard and read over the years it should have the same ingame hull as YY. WG promised a bazillion times to fix the hull in the past 5 years but never followed through. If they promised it again for this year I believe this just as much as the last 5 years and as much as Pu... said he does not intent to "visit" the Ukraine. After so many years of WoWs I'm at the point where I do not believe a single word of WG anymore, no matter what it is or who from WG said it. -

ThePurpleSmurf replied to Jethro_Grey's topic in General Discussion
It was an amazing DD and was everything what the Gearing should have been. Gearing, to this day, still has the wrong hull. It is supposed to have the exactly same hull as the Yueyang has. -

ThePurpleSmurf replied to Jethro_Grey's topic in General Discussion
This could be interesting. Yueyang is my old main vessel, as you can see at the emblem below my avatar. It replaced Gearing as my main until it got nerfed to sheeet and since then collecting dust and rust in port. It still could need some gun reload buff. -
The main problem with Ranked is, that WG and the playerbase have a different opinion of what Ranked should be. Players: Wohoo, finally a competitive game mode to mess with the best. At last I can show the world how amazing I am at this game. (sorry guys, bragging rights in form of the Jolly Roger flag was removed and no more rare ships as rewards) WG: Alright, let's add another game mode that is essentially Randoms but with less players per team. We also sprinkle in some nice camos, a couple of doubloons and steel as incentive, this will increase the overall activity in the game, which makes us look better. If these fruits think it's a competitive mode even better, this will motivate more players to waste (Ivan, scratch that!) spend time in the game. We set the bar as low as possible that nobody feels left out.

What graphics settings are you using in WoWs and your graphics card [April 2022 Edition] ?
ThePurpleSmurf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I have updated my first post and added a recommendation. To enable AMD FSR makes no sense if you don't scale the image, which you don't according to your Monitor and Resolution settings. Why do sound settings/sound preset change when you change the GFX preset to low or max? Why do they think we want Super ships, CVS and Subs in Randoms? Why do we play this game still on a 20 year old engine? Maybe it's laziness, maybe it's incompetence, maybe they don't care, maybe it's an oversight. Only God and WG knows why. -
What graphics settings are you using in WoWs and your graphics card [April 2022 Edition] ?
ThePurpleSmurf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
To those who run TXAA in combination with MSAA and FXAA: don't do it! TXAA is a budget combination of MSAA plus FXAA. Means you put more stress on your GPU without actually improving the image. MSAA is a real Anti-aliasing while FXAA is a post-processed Anti-Aliasing - actually it just blurs the image without improving anything after the image was rendered. Edges appear less jagged because they are blurred. If you run MSAA you actually don't need FXAA and certainly not TXAA because MSAA is kinda the big brother of TXAA. TXAA was invented for low-end GPUs that are too weak to run MSAA or SSAA. UPDATE Recommended settings Old and weak low-end GPU: TXAA on, MXAA off, FXAA off Good low-end to mid-range GPU: TXAA off, MSAA 2x or 4x, FXAA low or medium Good mid-range to high-end: TXAA off, MSAA 4x or 8x, FXAA off or low FXAA is a post-processing AA that is applied to the image after it got rendered and is sent to the screen. It simply blurs the image to create the illusion to the human eye of a smoother image. The higher the setting the blurrier the outcome. It is personal preference how blurry one likes it. FXAA has virtually no impact on performance or FPS. Again, TXAA is a modern technique that combines a Lidl version of MSAA with embedded FXAA, that's why it makes zero sense to enable them all. No idea why this is possible in WoWs in first place.
