It's not about size and force. It's about principle stuff, that i'm not sitting there and take any crap from anyone without standing up for myself. If someone does something wrong i telkl this person, i don't care how he looks and if he wears a dog collar with face tattoos all over the place. But this is beside the point here anyway. Point is, that WG should rather address the serious stuff like griefing and sabotating the team on purpose, because this is what cause frustration way more to other players which then lead to heated chat discussion. The chat is the ONLY way to address this ingame for everyone. If WG would have a working report system then it could and should handle it, but they don't have it and they don't care if people break their rules all the time, but they punish only the chat related stuff.
-
See, this is exactly what i do in RL. If someone act like this i go to him, looking eye to eye and call him an idiot or a...hole. If he wanna try and take a swing at me, go ahead. I''m not someone who take crap from anyone for whatever reason, not in RL, not in game. The reason why people do this crap ingame is, because WG doesn't care and doesn't follow through with their own ToS when it comes to stuff like griefing, sabotating the own team, AFKs and all this. All they do is having a chat filter that scans for certain words and then checks logs to hand out chat bans with an exaggerated length. Obviously they don't do the same for anything else but chat.

What graphics settings are you using in WoWs and your graphics card?
ThePurpleSmurf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
If you guys use an Nvidia card you should never ever use VSync On. If you have tearing problems or in general, add WoWs as game profile in your Nvidia Control Panel and set the Max FPS to the refresh rate of your monitor. Usually 60 FPS is perfectly fine, even if you have a higher Hz monitor. The game is smooth like butter and more FPS is only useful for e-peen and bragging purposes. It does nothing for your game other than burning a lot of power and therefore money for nothing, especially when you are in port. Limiting FPS is always better than using Vsync, because Vsync causes input lag and to minimize this you have to enable triple buffer which has other bad side effects - just don't do it. It's also permanent and you don't have to alter the engine_config or install a mod for it with every game update. Other useful settings are Low Latency Mode set to Ultra if you have a decently fast computer. If you have a very strong GPU and wanna use its power enable Image Sharpening in Nvidia control panel and set it to .30 to .50. This makes the game look sooo much better, everything is nice and crisp, more than .50 is too much IMO, but try it out. Especially useful if you use FXAA (which you shouldn't), which is a post-process filter that blurs the image to add fake Anti-Aliasing. If you have a weaker GPU don't enable image sharpening, because it is very hardware demanding. If you have an old computer, like really weak, the biggest FPS killer are Shadows, Sea Rendering Quality and Additional Reflections. Everything else is not very hardware demanding. In Aslains Mod Pack is a mod called Minimal Waves. This mod boost the FPS on weak machines usually enormous. -
Tutorials, tooltips and streamlining in-game information
ThePurpleSmurf replied to _Teob_'s topic in General Discussion
All intentions to improve the game, gaming experience and help newbies are nice and good, but fact is WG does not care a bit. Leave alone the game for a second. Just look at this forum for instance. There are sticky threads, sticky guides that explain 'new game mechanics' from back version 0.5.5 and how to play CV back from 2015 and stuff like this. Every sub-forum got these way outdated sticky information that are so obsolete that a lot of this stuff is not even part of the game anymore, yet they are sticky which suggest they are very important information. Look at the newcomer/newbie section. This is the forum where newbies go first when they seek for help. There are questions, weeks and months old, unanswered. Browsing briefly through the threads/questions reveal that 95% of them are ignored by WB staff (which include forum Mods), no reply/answer there whatsoever from WG staff. There are newbies with login problems or having problems to connect their steam account to the WG account, ignored, no reply. What kind of impression does this give a new player if his help request is ignored? If he wanna read about the game and mechanics, tips and tricks and reads sticky threads from 2015/16 about game mechanics that were removed from the game? Perhaps WG should start to update the forums, show some willingness to help new players with questions, pin useful and important threads instead outdated trash. This is something everyone can contribute to. Ingame help is in devs hands only and we all know what that means. Just look at tiny and easy to fix things like MM screen and ship roles. There are a million little things that could be fixed so easily, because it's just some damn text, but WG does not care. It does not affect the money so it's classified as whatever, maybe next year. -
Read above. This is no official info (yet), but internal information from WG leaked and hit the public.

I'd welcome it if all LM were nerfed so hard that they are basically useless. Would take off the pressure to have to regrind crappy lines to get crappy tokens for the crappy RB to buy these LM just to not fall behind.

Supercontainers chance in the 3 daily ?
ThePurpleSmurf replied to Ronchabale's topic in General Discussion
The chance is 60% for normal container and 120% for TYL container. If you get less SC than this it's very possible that a gipsy witch cursed you. Better go and buy a wig and instant ramen because i'm sure your hair and teeth will fall out soon too. -
What is your biggest purchase regret! (edited)
ThePurpleSmurf replied to Mad_Dog_Dante's topic in General Discussion
change the title to 'My title was edited by a mod because…' this is a ever bigger clickbait :p On Topic without a doubt Blys as well. I don't really care about the stealth fire nerf, but this ship was powercrept so hard it's not even funny. It still is trash compared to pretty much any other t7 DD. Also kinda unplayable nowadays is Loyang because the gimmick it once had is useless in todays games. -
Premium ships and Special Ships !!
ThePurpleSmurf replied to Triplexmazi's topic in General Discussion
Ships like Georgia, Friesland, Alaska and some others are considered special ships but they are also sold directly in the premium shop. -
10 minutes? That's for beginners ... NA CC, as well as streamer and youtuber Mejash probably holds the record for the fastest tier 10 game, at least i have never seen or read about a faster tier 10 game
-
It's very simple: if you like it and if you want it -> buy it. There is no point in hording something and never use it because 'just in case' or 'one day' could happen.
-
Then try this again post-rework. It happens all the time. People complain about it all the time. You can see it on a daily basis on many streams, live with your own eyes, how streamers get reported just for playing CV. This is not some made up BS, this is what happens. What also happens very often, that streamer know very well, just like the rest of us, that reports do jack except chat reports and this is what they report for when they are not happy with how other players play the game. This in itself is an abuse of the system, but as said before, WG does not care at all about this. This topic was brought up many many times, but for WG this has 'no priority' to be fixed, because it doesn't generate any cash. But it's not only the system in the hands of the players that is abusive, it's also WG employees do it. Just do some research on how flamu got a 3 months chat ban by WG directly for not even sending any chat message ingame.
-
What gets boring is, that the system is abusable but the developer does jack to fix it. On a daily basis players get chat banned just for playing a class others don't like or sinking enemy divisions with torps but this is considered okay. WoWs is the only game i know where the abuser of a system get protected and players who often enough did absolutely nothing wrong get punished for nothing. It's like you get robbed on the street then go to the police and they arrest you for daring to show up and complain. That's WG logic in a nutshell.

Maybe you are doing it wrong? Open water gunboat and actively hunt down enemy DDs, also ambushing light cruiser is a hell of a lot of fun. You can melt a cruiser when giving broadside (which most do because they are arrogant and want all guns on you) like there's no tomorrow. This and that Friesland is also the only DD in the game, next to Halland, who actually laughs at most CV players. Only very good CV player in a T10 can give you trouble, but they are rare.

Hindenburg and Grozovoi.

This. It is rediculous how slow it scrolls. But it also takes 3-4 tries until it loads completely and the ship names stop being spinning circle things. The ship section is much much worse than before and it was already trash. But on the bright side, this is where we would spend resources and doubloons… Also icons are nice and fine, but some text to not play the guessing game would be nice as well. Also absolutely annoying are the 4000 popups to tell me where what is. I know what doubloons are and how to spend them, i don't need a popup sitting there forever until i close it. Same goes for filters, the wallet, literally every other petty thing on the screen. It is very noticable that you -probably rightfully so- think that your customers are not very bright and can figure out this stuff on their own but need a persistent popup.
-
Until WG implements something like this in maybe 8 years from now, but only if the stars align in a perfect triangle, there is a mod that allows to set one primary commander for a ship (e.g. Des Moines) and when you put him on a different ship (e.g. Alaska) you can click a button and the comander returns to his assigned ship (DM). Only works with one commander not multiple, but better than nothing.

Penalty for Ships dying in the first 2-3 minutes

Game crashes, server issues, things like this you know. Things that are REALLY not in my reach. Anything else ingame related is something i can influence. -
Penalty for Ships dying in the first 2-3 minutes
ThePurpleSmurf replied to _Ghostship_'s topic in General Discussion
Nothing to do with stat shaming, just pointing out facts, that 25% survival rate in a DD is nothing to brag about. But this number shows why you argue as you did. -
Penalty for Ships dying in the first 2-3 minutes
ThePurpleSmurf replied to _Ghostship_'s topic in General Discussion
Yes. There is literally no excuse to get detonated anymore since flags are cheap to buy in the arsenal. If someone detonates then because this person is just cheap and doesn't care. You can only get bumrushed if you are out of pisiton or go into position without enough intel of what to expect. Play safe the first 4-5 minutes, caps can be retaken, dead ships can not be revived. And even with 2 CVs in the game you should not die. At latest after the first drop you should smoke up or stay closer to AA support. All these things are just excuses from bad players. See, i'm DD main and i play almost exclusively tier 10. I died mayn times in the first few minutes and know exactly where you are coming from. But know what? At least 90% of the time it was my own fault for misjudging the situation or relying on team mates or pushing into positions with no way out. But people learn, hopefully, and playing it slow the first 5 minutes doesn't harm. The game is not decided in the first 3 minutes, except a DD pushes in and dies like an idiot. Let the enemy DD be that idiot to throw the ship away. Other than that, just make up some excuses for yourself if it makes you feel better, but it doesn't change the fact that 90+% of early death are the result of misplay, overextending or being careless. -
Penalty for Ships dying in the first 2-3 minutes
ThePurpleSmurf replied to _Ghostship_'s topic in General Discussion
And what exactly do you contribute by dying in the first 3 minutes other than donating points to the enemy team and weaken your own team for the rest of the battle? But i totally see where you are coming from. A brief look at your profile shows that you have a survival rate of 25-30% across the board in your high tier DDs. This explains quite a bit about your logic. -
So you spent 5k euros on the game and you think this is fine, but then you qq about a 5k doubloon camo? 5k doubloon is what you easily got for free in all those years from login rewards, loot boxes and other free stuff. If you have really spent 5k EUR on a video game then you have some other serious problem, but for sure not a camo for a pixel boat.
