    PT 0.10.0 - Commander Skills Update

    Listen.. it's a scam, a simple scam. They are out of ideas and they want you to grind more.... like the research bureau (where everybody is going, f*ck it, i am not going to regrind. It failed so much they are now giving you points to you get close to a getting a ship so you might be tempted to regrind 1 tree to get it). So, they made the most common Captain skills 1 point higher, priority target went from 1 to 2 points, Adrenaline rush from 2-3 and superintendent from 3 to 4. To compensate that they gave you 2 extra points costing you 1.2 Mio captain XP. Then they tried to sugarcoat it in a layer of cool new functionality for captains which is total bullocks cause you can change your captain for multiple roles, but you can't change the equipment of your ship to match it. So what is their gain and your loss? - you have to do the regrind every tier 9 captain you have (I have 60!) and after doing so, you actually have less or equal to what you had before. - I love pushing and secondaries play which now only works if you are really close to get a substantial amount of hits (so close they can ram you...) - people are probably going to spend a lot of doubloons to change and change again their captain skills since everyone needs to learn the skills again $$$ For point 2, they see that German ships are useless, so they are going to buff the guns and now german ships are like all others, lay in the back and blast away. It's the same as the carrier update, the make a bad choice then compensate in other areas to try and mitigate their bad choice. End result will be the same as for the carrier update, they get it working again OK (far from great) but the gameplay suffered and the player base is annoyed. I agree that if you have the manual secondary captain skill, it is weird that your secondaries only fire in 1 direction, but at least they FOCUS fire. And anyone that played more than a 100 battles can explain to you that focus fire is more important than secondaries that go in every direction. And let's be realistic, IF you have your secondaries fire at 4-5 ships at the same time, you are probably dead anyway cause you overextended.

    Don't forget the US BBs that have secondaries, the Massa will now have 10 instead 11.3km (EDIT: I hear premium ships retain their range) and less accurate, it's now depending on its wonderful 18.4km guns. That's a major reason for a refund, 42 euro per Massachusetts. I have been playing 5 years, have 260 ships, 60 captains on tier 19. Most of them have PT, AR and SI. These skills all became 1 skill point more expensive, for a 1.2 mio grind I can earn 2 points compensation. 60 x 1.2 Mio is 72 Mio XP and the result is a lesser ship cause I lack a skill point. Let's call this release a downgrade from now on, calling it an upgrade would be lying.
  7. yeah, and then you play them like the Russians, US, French, Italian ships... and all BB gameplay becomes the same. All we have left is sniping and burning....
  8. it's not only the German BBs, they get some extra range to compensate (which is useless cause in the new meta they can't hit the side of a barn with a shotgun) but what about the premium ship the Massachusetts? Its secondaries are hit 2 x times by this change, they go from 11.3 to 10km and from 60% inc accuracy to 30%. All it has left now are the 18.4 km main guns. The ship is massively f*cked by this change. What count's for the Kurf, Tirp, pomm, Odin also counts for Massa, Georgia, Ohio.... Perhaps we should all call this new release a Downgrade instead of an update?

    Don't forget that secondary built are now dead. They now changed it so it firers on more ships. But if you need your secondaries to fire on more ships, you are basically dead, you used your secondaries to help you beat a more healthier ship, a DD that popped up or when you fight 2 and a cruiser is in the mix so you can peel off a 1000 health per volley. if they made it so that the side of the ship that is firing on the manual selected target was shooting with 60% accuracy that the other side of your ships are firing regeular accuracy (a bit like AA defence) that would promote secondaries!!! But as usual, they missed the plot

    it takes 1.7 mio to get to 19, then 1.2 mio to get to 21 A LOT of ships have Adrenaline rush, super Intendent and priority target, all 3 all moved up 1 skill point. So you get 2 extra points for 1.7 MIO but you actually need 3 to recreate your current built. So for 1.7 mio XP your ship is actually getting less. It's all a grind ploy, do the same over and over again. They do not know what to do anymore to keep people playing. At least for the regrind for the research bureau, you got ships. For captain XP you get a lesser ships..... BRAVO WG!!!!!!!

    PT 0.10.0 - Commander Skills Update

    Changing the Commander skill system will make it more flexible and convenient, and give you a choice between several effective loadout options instead of one ultimate go-to option. This will enable you to customize your ship to more precisely suit your playstyle. I have 250+ ships and 70 captains on 19. You don't use multiple set outs on a ship UNLESS you know in advance who you are going to encounter, otherwise, you create the ship so it functions best according to its stats. Massa is not going to be long-range firestarter and the conquerer is never going to be a brawler. I LOVE my secondary built ships allowing me to finish a DD as my main gun take on a cruiser. The fact my secondary ships are less accurate makes them NON-secondary ships. So my Massa, Tirp, Georgia and GK will be less fun, it's nice it can now focus on multiple ships, but if there are too many ships, you fucked up. The power of the secondaries is that focus and finish/damage 1 ship as you focus on something else with the main guns is what makes them AWEsome and extremely fun to play. Or when you are reloading take care of the pesky DD very well. For me it means: - CV area nuisance, I was against them and you pushed them in (game became less fun) - Spam ships, more and more and more and more of them (again less and less and less fun) and now, you are going to [edited]up my fav. the ship, every day I play my Massa and now you are going to nerv its effectiveness. A ship I bought for its playstyle.... It's like buying a sportcar, the garage does the annuals service, tells me they updated the software so I now have apple play (even though I don't use it) and oh yeah, your HP of the engine went from 250 to 200... so you drive more smoothly. Like I would buy another car there...... WG seriously???

    My Minnesota got a torp on the nose.. right on the point and I got a flooding AND the engine was broken. I don't know how the Russians make their cars, ships and other vehicles, but in the rest of the world, if you have a flooding in the nose of a ship that is 139.1 meters long, the engine stays operational. Ever heard of waterproof doors that are always closed when going into battle (well perhaps not in Russia). If besides being slow as crap on a wall (speed and reload) as a player you also get these kinds of fun surprises paying the Minnesota, this ship is beyond bad and NOT fun to play.

    After the grind, you get the Kansas.... So what do you do with it? You play it once. Then you think is it really that bad? Yup So you do a few more games for the US tokens and then? Then you park it. CHRIST!!! This ship is bad. Speed, reload, dispersion, armour everything is SO bad. I sincerely think that a manoeuvrable DD can kill you with just his main guns. If you really need to grind the last few days to make it, don't. It is SO not worth it. I felt SO bad being in a team with a ship this bad, i went for the remaining damage in coop. WG, the last few dockyards and grinds like this all had shitty ships at the end of the line. Isn't it about time for a ship you actually enjoy playing? PS and at the end of the line there is a camo as ugly non war-type as hell for a ship you don't want to play... Thank you.. so awesome

    The Roosevelt is bloody ridiculous, I had just some bombers circling over my Halland, sector set, AA consumable on and he just circled there for 30-40 seconds as I was killed and I downed 1 plane. Did you see how in Aerroons movie how you can come up parallel to ship (he thinks you are not aiming for him) then make a 90-degree turn and hit him with 6 torps? I think he had 60K damage in 3 minutes. First a German C that can't damage DDs, so you're fcked when he is on your team, now this. A CV on steroids? It's destroying game fun for at least 12 others when you have an enemy with the Roosevelt. If you give both teams a Roosevelt 22 players are having a crap game.

    Just come out of a game, 4 DDs each, I was however with the Richthofen in my team. Since his rockets suck he only hunter the bigger ships. The other CV did hunt and spot our DDs of course. In no time while we were equal in ships they were 2 DDs up. As a consequence, we were outspotted, outtorped and they won... I have the feeling again they introduced something that made the game worse instead of better..

    I was in my Massa... running secondary build, not anti-fire. Even with the quick heals, I was gone faaaaaast!!! Trying to run (turn) gives broadside and you will be shelled more effectively by other ships so it is just a matter of taking it and die...

    Yes, and the Smolensk shoots 4 x 4 with 8,5% fire chance (one volley:16 x 8.5 = 136%). And that every 3.6 seconds. Add the damage HE does on the superstructure and the conclusion is that a Smolensk can melt a tier 8 BB in no time.

    I have never been hit by a CV by torps... chances are small I think... it's more luck or incompetence of the DD driver than anything else
