A case for reducing airspeed of all carrier bomber planes
Grumpy_Shark replied to Mad_Dog_Dante's topic in General Discussion
If the speed is reduced noone will play CVs as they won't be able to make any bomb drops since their planes will be torn apart by AA. In fact that is why people prefer japanese CVs in general, and when they play american CVs they avoid the bomb drops like the plague. The planes that drop bombs are slow that are worthless. They do nothing. They are only a waste of time. Their attack takes ages to complete and quite often you don't even make the drop because your planes are dead before that and even if you do the damage is pathetic 5k or quite often a miss. -
I tell you the real reason this"hotfix" happens now... I don't think they care about balancing and such nonsense. It's a much more cynical reason. The reason is that this new CV update became overpopular. It became so popular that people started inflating game with too many CVs. If people hadn't embraced the new CVs so much by now not only nerfs wouldn't arrive but we d have buffs instead! Oh yes. And "balancing" is only their lame excuse. So what WG wants is that people would play CVs much more than before, but they became even more popular than they would hope for. They became more popular than the game can afford. So they nerf them now in order the population that plays them diminishes! And they will keep nerfing them regardless of "balance" or "what is rightful". Untill the people playing them will reach the ideal per WG number. So that each match has one CV per team for the 70% of matches and the rest of 30% hasn't. (now on this i am not certain perhaps they want 80% of the matches to have 1 cv on each team. Perhaps they want that number at 90%) Now if after this change people keep playing CVs with the same enthusiasm even more nerfs will arrive. If instead tomorrow many people abandon them and become as unpopular as before they will buff them again! There you have it. The bitter cynical truth.

After patch most premium ships AA is pathetic. Especialy Arizona's is almost non existend. At least make it equal to New Mexico. De Grasse too has non existend AA. Before patch it wasn't so bad. So please fix.

Please FIX the Arizona and DeGrasse AA
Grumpy_Shark replied to Grumpy_Shark's topic in General Discussion
I don't know. My initial impression after patch was as if those ships they forgot to update them or something. Example with De Grasse i always had AA consumable and it was doing okish, and on Arizona i had points to spare for Advanced Firing Training since the captain was from my Montana. In Arizona although having weak AA i never had any particular problem with CV's of similar tier and on De Grasse with the AA consumable i could survive most attacks or at least make the enemy CV think twice about attacking me again. Now it feels as if i am completely defencless. Bah in any case i don't care so much i have other ships to play. It just feels now as money gone down the drain although Arizona has given me great moments and is very pretty and i wouldn't exchange it for doublons even now. -
*UPDATED* So the idea is that although the CV player will be able to see and interact with all ships, bomb them rocket them etc their teammates won't be able to target them, just able to "mark" their location on the map. Just as happens with typhoons when one player is in proximity of a target and he is actually able to target and shoot the enemy ship but his teammates although they "see" his location on their mini-maps they can't target or actually see that enemy ship in game's window. But make torps able to be spotted by planes. (since removing the spotting ability from CV's planes would affect the teamplay capability of CV's) This way we would take them the spotting but give them something back aka torpedo spotting. This will solve any concealment problems the people are complaining about that the CV's spotting is ruining their plays. PS: Spotting planes and fighter planes launched by non-CV ships should keep working as it is now so these should be able to spot ships in their proximity.

MAKE CV's able to only PARTIALY SPOT enemy ships!
Grumpy_Shark replied to Grumpy_Shark's topic in General Discussion
Yes i know all about that "mod" . I think it should be prohibited. I don't think WG when designed the game wanted this to exist. Yeah most people don't do it. You don't see why... Well it feels lame that is why. And i had the mod i think the modstation mod pack has it among it's mods. I used it in a couple of occasions. I never had citadels scored. Some scarce damage here and there. Maybe unlucky. Maybe not skilled enough. But i don't like it. It felt horrible. So i never used it again. I just tried a few times "for the lols" as they say. But all in all is a lame techique. It is like that other "mod" that is thankfully prohibited that completely tells you were to shoot marks the exact spot with a marker. I saw it on youtube somewhere... All in all anything that helps your targetting with something visualy not into the original game should be prohibited imo. Cause it gives you an unfair advantage. Now as of CV's spotting or not, i have played all these years with CV's spotting stuff. And the old CVs were even worse in that thing as they could spot in 3 differend locations at the same time! At least the new ones can spot only in one part of the map. Is just that since as of late i notice people complain a lot about CV spotting them , especialy DDs , and noticing a DD shortage in game as of now i thought to propose this idea as a possible way to somewhat remediate this problem. That's all. -
MAKE CV's able to only PARTIALY SPOT enemy ships!
Grumpy_Shark replied to Grumpy_Shark's topic in General Discussion
In any case. Only a few can do that. Congratulations. You seem to have achieved a level of play that 99,99% will never achieve. This would need though lots of luck in the equation which you waste into this game instead of go play some lucky numbers and win the lottery. Now, jokes apart the 99,99% of the rest of players can't so this.So the solution i propose will improve people's plays ruined because of CV spotting against the 99,99% of possible enemies seems a solution good enough for me. PS and that minimap "mod" that shows in minimap where you are pointing your crosshair is a lame thing and i think it should be abolished from game cause it helps people cheese other people like this. -
MAKE CV's able to only PARTIALY SPOT enemy ships!
Grumpy_Shark replied to Grumpy_Shark's topic in General Discussion
Just luck and some generic idea where the ship could be. Only a few would try this though. I rarely see that happen. When it does it is lame. But in what sense you disagree with me? I don't get your point. From what i understand you say : "leave CV plane's spotting as it is because some crazy lucky player might on occasion shoot blind for citadels anyway" ? And what that proves? I know how the spotting mechanic works. If shooting blind didn't reveal you could be because you and enemy ships were not in direct visibility circumstances. So the other people might have been behind cover. Next time you play the ocean map do the same and you will be spotted if enemy ships are within proximity of your max shooting distance. You ll see -
MAKE CV's able to only PARTIALY SPOT enemy ships!
Grumpy_Shark replied to Grumpy_Shark's topic in General Discussion
The friendly CVs fighter planes "that the CV can put over you to help" are not doing much. The fighter plane consumable is the same as the one the other ships launch and is not doing much. So it doesn't "help" so much. Also you have 3 uses per plane-type per match. As of the torpedo spoting via planes (as it used to be before patch it was a secondary thought of mine) Do you disagree with my main idea and why? -
MAKE CV's able to only PARTIALY SPOT enemy ships!
Grumpy_Shark replied to Grumpy_Shark's topic in General Discussion
It may happen occasionaly and it is lame. Needs a lot of luck too. Especialy vs a DD. On the other hand shooting blind will certainly spot YOU to the enemy (unless behind cover towards the possible enemy spotter) and that spotting will be real spotting not partial so be my guest. But the solution i propose is good cause it gives functionality to CV's without ruining the life of opponent too much. Cause i see people being furious about it. And i do not understand where were those people before... I had the same problem also with the old CVs. This solution should have been implemented also to the old CVs. They were even "worse" in that department as they could spot several areas of the map simultaneously. At least now with the new CVs only 1 area is spotted the one the CV player has his active planes on + the occasional fighter consumable area but that lasts only for 60sec covers small area and can be shot down easily. -
Please FIX the Arizona and DeGrasse AA
Grumpy_Shark replied to Grumpy_Shark's topic in General Discussion
Arizona was slightly weaker than New Mexico and De Grasse was like Furutaka but after the changes seem much worse on AA department. They were never good in AA but now they got even worse. On the other hand take a look at Queen Elizabeth that after the update is an absolute AA monster now... Doesn't make sense. I didn't say make Arizona a champ of AA defense. Just fix them as they were before. -
MAKE CV's able to only PARTIALY SPOT enemy ships!
Grumpy_Shark replied to Grumpy_Shark's topic in General Discussion
I like the new CV change in general. I understand though why people and especialy players of DDs feel annoyed. But then again wasn't that happening before already with the old CV's ? Why noone hadn't any problem before? So the solution is quite simple. Make CV's unable to spot ships in general. Only able to make them visible in mini map of fellow players. And since this would remove a teamplay ability of CV's we could have planes able to spot torps (as it used to be) to give some teamplay functionality back to CV's -
Ok then. Solution is: MAKE CV's able to only PARTIALY SPOT enemy ships! So the idea is that although the CV player will be able to see and interact with all ships, bomb them rockjet them etc their teammates won't be able to target them, just able to "mark" their location on map. Just as happens with typhoons when one player is in proximity of a target but his teammates although they see his location on their mini maps they can't target them or "see" them in actual game window. But make torps able to be spotted by planes. Problem solved. :)

I think tier 4 CVs are a joke cause they do nothing, they are very underpowered but it doesn't last much I think tier 6 CVs are THE BEST WELL BALANCED TIER (as long as are played against tier 6 or 7) I think tier 8 CVs are a joke , they are very underpowered, they get shreded by AA s and their damage is low. In general the AA at tier 8 and after shreds you to pieces I think tier 10 CVs are ok as damage but the AA is too strong. That flak makes you lose entire squadrons in seconds, it would be better if the AA was more normalized maybe do damage over time but not extreminating entire squadrons in seconds. Also the fighter plane consumable needs fixing as it does nothing as of now But all in all i prefer the rework :) Maybe it just needs some fine tuning here and there but it seems better than before. Before especially at tier 10 you had no chance. So thanks for the change WG :)

The New Aircraft Carriers: How Best to Use Them? - Discussion Thread
Grumpy_Shark replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Some commends for the upcoming changes: 1) Now the game will be even more dd dependend. Practicaly when a team loses it's dds the other team will win since having 1 dd vs none will be a huge advantage! Since no way to spot torps via plane. This will lead to a torp fiesta with no countermeasures. And don't mention hydroacoustics... Nooone gonna take hydro with so many cvs around. Eventually this will lead as i said to a torp fiesta initially and then in even more passive play. So please reconsider. Also removing torp spoting from the carrier removes a nice cooperative factor between the cv and the fleet. 2) I think this side concentrated AA is garbage. Fast ships can't be changing AA sides all the time. Especialy dds. AA must work at all sides all the time. -
It is happening again. Last 3 days or so. Server overloaded with 27706 players online. Probably WG needs a bigger server or a second server for the EU. Probably the game has got more players hence the overload issues.

Please reconsider your choice to change the behavior of the bullets fired against various ship anglings. It will dump game down. It will make the game uninteresting and boring potato fiesta. Follow the link to watch this and see for yourselves. IT WILL BE TERRIBLE. Watch this part of video of flamu's twitch. It shows just what a DISASTEROUS CHANGE THIS WILL BE (watch after 1hours:42minutes:00seconds) -
As the title says , i checked on my combat missions and there i have 3 quests to get Gerfalcon , Killer Whale and Zipper The thing is i got already Gerfalcon and Zipper without doing anything. Just logged in game today they were there i even played the mission and got 5 stars. Killer Whale i don't have. But Gerfalcon and Zipper i already have. I even got Sealowe. So what are those combat missions about then? Are they going to give me those submarines with 19point captains permanently? I just don't understand.

How to disable space camos in port? Where is that option?

How to disable space camos in port? Where is that option?
Grumpy_Shark posted a topic in General Discussion
Hi, how to disable space camos in port? Some people have bought space camos and use them for random battles. And they have an unfair advantage as you can't understand what speed they are traveling because the space camo smoke is static and always on at a certain way so those players are very hard to hit .I have read somewhere that you can disable them in port. But i can't find where. Is it under graphics? Under controls tab? Where is that option to see those ships without the space effects on? -

Charles Martel is OP ! Dont quit the grind !
Grumpy_Shark replied to albinbino's topic in General Discussion
Charles Martel is terrible. Even with rudder upgrade feels too heavy in turns aa is crap, range is nothing special actually is worse than Alferie but most terrible feature is the guns. The guns are TERRIBLE gun arcs feel somewhat slow but also have strange trajectory and tend to spray enemies without hiting them as if dispression is over 250, and somehow when they hit they do crap damage like 500 or 1000 at most as if something is buggy with the 203mm cause they feel more like 180mm. That was my 2 cent about it. Never seen such disappointing ship. Totally sucks
