The only "infinite" is your arrogance and ignorance. Now go try CVs yourself to witness the real facts about "infinite planes" so to stop ridicule yourself even further.

From the Scharnhorst to the Gneisenau
Grumpy_Shark replied to Saltface's topic in General Discussion
Remove last two lines and take instead basics of suvivability and fire prevention because you will be burned a lot. And also install the module that adds another 15% less burn duration (you have that already) and also mount the flag that adds up an extra 20% on diminished fire duration. Also consider removing secondaries from upgrades and add the anti air thingy. Although probably soon you won't be needing that since CV's will vanish once more. Also consider put there a more trained captain and also take torpedo detection from line 3 (better if the special german captain) and if you can spare the points you could also add the 10% reduced repairs cooldown (first from second line) + the skill next to it that diminishes it even further (by 10% with special german captain) Consider also adrenaline rush as an option for a less defensice style of play -
In generaly agreed but eliminate the "planes pass out of border" cheats and the strafe thing that is actually is a secret thing since ii never saw it being described as a higher tier CV "feature" by WG. In fact i still don't even know which was the button that was making that attack happen. I only learnt about that option from WoWs contributors via twitch And since there is so much complain with CVs spotting dds i would say "remove CV spotting but make it partial spotting" (aka able to show enemy ship's location in minimap) Now if all these would be adressed perhaps then it would be a good idea to bring the old model back.

Cv rework poll - keeping dementia at bay
Grumpy_Shark replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
After the hotfix that poll is actually irrelevant. So erase this and make a new one describing also the game's version at the time of posting this time. -
With the recent hotfix introduced yesterday the CV numbers in games will soon drop radicaly and within a month noone will play them. You will be seeing even less of them in matches compaired to before. So heads up! :)

I am kinda same boat but i don't believe in petitions. Any time you invest real money in digital products you should be ready to accept that those products might not be up to expectation or their quality to change dramaticly all of a sudden if their maker decides so. It's also into EULA. Now i didn't say that what they did was "nice" or "professional" but if life is the sum-up of experiences think of what happened as just another one that costed you an X sum of money that wasn't so important to you anyway otherwise you would have spend it elsewhere to cover real life needs. And all in all perhaps what happened is for the best. Cause since people won't be playing CVs after this nerf the game will get back to what it was these past few months which imo was a very healthy state where all had fun. Now if the objective is to make the game fun for us at least with the disappearence of CVs it will be fun again. Guaranteed. :)

new upgrade Can we get WoW to undo this last awfull upgrade before it stops people playing???
Grumpy_Shark replied to W1ttbarr5's topic in General Discussion
You can manage your speed manualy but you have to abandon plane view and recall planes to do that. But it would be far simpler if you would get Langley and do your testing in coop to see for yourself what a cv can do and can't do. But with the recent hotfix the spotting problem is likely to increase since now that CVs are unable to deal damage guess what they will be doing now. They will try to act as spotting tools for their team and perhaps hope to do some damage by the end of the match. So the recent hotfix actually created more problems than it solved. Although i believe the over time and as weeks will be passing you will see CVs less and less and eventually they will disappear completely cause as they are now they are boring so i excpect people to massive abandon them. -
CVs are crap now.WG normaly you would owe me 38k dbs
Grumpy_Shark replied to Grumpy_Shark's topic in General Discussion
At least something good might still come out of all that: The total disappearence of CVs from now and on. Which was my "plan b" of sorts ^_^ 150euros. Since i paid 99euros to get the (30k doublons) package initially in order to bypass the terrible Shokaku with free xp and then i realized that with Hakuryu costing 28million credits i lacked most of the credits to get it so i got that (15k doublons + 25million credits) package which costed another 50euros. Had also to get the camo for Hakuryu so 5k doublons gone there. And of that i have remained with around 7k doublons for future use so perhaps my initial post is wrong on that part and i will be editing it. So i got like 30k+15k doublons in total i have 7k left and used the rest to get Hakuryu+camo(5k) and unlock half the Lexington too. All in all seemed like a fair deal. Ofc now it is nerfed but i don't feel as being bambouzeled since after all noone is gonna play CVs now and i am ok with this outcome as well. :) Could have been worse. Imagine if someone would have payed to travel first class with Titanic and then...well we know what happened next... I only lost 150euros not so big deal but explored CVs totally and felt for once that omnipotent feeling. Now if these money hadn't been spent on Hakuryu they might have been spent for RN CV line for pretty much similar outcome. Cause , and now i might seem quite supersticious it gives me the feeling that this nerf bat arrived only because it was I that had fun for once with CVs! Now i can't reverse time and go back and not do it in order to see if something different would happen... certain times that old saying about "even one butterfly that moves from one place to another might create change to some other distand part somewhere else in the world" Was I that butterfly? Or it would happen anyway. We cannot be completely sure. Lets try to be logical, it probably would all the same but one can't be sure about something 100%. Reminds me back in the days i was playing world of warcraft and Death Knight class was out but i just didn't want to go and make one cause it was so op back then but i just didn't want to follow the stream... And quite some times passed (that was back in 2008) and at the end i decided to make a Death Knight myself and also got into a guild that was doing raids and eventually got into heroic raids and we needed to drop the Lich King on heroic mode so to get the achievment "Bane of Lich King" ("Kingslayer" was another achievement, you were getting it for defeating all bosses on normal raid mode) And was only us and another guild on that server that we had done it. So i was doing the heroic raid with my DK and we were on final boss and as we were getting close to down him try after try... and i was playing tank in that you know what happened? Blizzard decided to nerf the aggro of that class to the ground so i could no longer maintain aggro so we didn't manage to down it as we hoped and fail after fail (i was to blame for failing to keep aggor cause DK had been just nerfed) and eventually the guild fell apart cause of quarels and "bad climate". I mean it is as if your fate sometimes comes to backstab you at worst possible moment! Now again this. So... All this time CVs had these issues old had them too and multiplied but noone ever cared to fix them. And it was even worse before because the old CVs could "spot" on 3 different locations at the same time. These new ones could do this spotting thing only at 1 spot (or at 2 with the fighter consumable which gets easily shot down and doesn't last long-has limited uses so...) yet people wend mad and this time WG immediately reacted. So why this didn't happen before with the old CVs? Because I wasn't playing them! Yes i know it is not logical what i am saying, i am not so important factor into the equation but it certainly "feels" like that sometimes... you know? It's a bit like when you are in front of the cashier in the supermarket and you have that feeling that that machines that makes the receipts is out of paper only when it is YOUR turn to pay... And usually the girl working on that has no idea how to change it and needs to call some specialist of the shop to do it for her and you end up losing 10minutes standing there... Isn't it ironic? Don't you think? :P -

The "youngster" had nothing to do with your age that i could not possibly know but with your World of Warships game experience. You come here talk so big with so few matches... hence compaired to me you are youngster in World of Warships. As i am a youngster compaired to you in WoT if you have 20k matches as you claim to have. Now , World of Tanks experience means jackshit for World of Warships. World of Warships is a quite different game that has nothing to do with WoT and it's pay to win rules with the golden bullets and the ultra expencive tanks the ultra slow to train crews and the premium consumables that need to be paid in gold to get (and recently they made them able to fit also with credits but if you do that you will be making marginal profits from the matches so its actually a non option). So you have made a forum account with just 250 matches + the supposed 1000 that are still very few to mean anything at all. You know nothing John Snow.Get first to 5000k matches and then come and talk about grinding. And friendly advice... you will get to learn more about this game by playing instead of trolling in forums -

Well "youngster" you obviously don't know what your are talking aboutI or you are just trolling me. I have many tier 10 ships already and those i grinded the hard way and had to grind through very bad ships. I have 9500 matches 7000+ of which in randoms is under my avatar that is connected to my account so i can't lie and you have just 250 matches. And you have the nerve to come and talk to me about grinding. HA! And yeah after all this grinding all these ship lines why not get immediately to tier 10 CV if i can afford it? After all i am as noob as all the others playing the ship today cause CVs changed totally and even experts in the old style know jackshit on the new. Got it now? -

I ask you this simple question consisting of 2 parts and i will answer it myself since it is mostly retorical If noone would free XP their way to tier 10 CVs how do you explain the presence of tier 10 cvs from day 1 on tier 10 matches? Simple. Many people owned those tier 10 CVs at their former RTS state so after the change, of course, they had them from day 1 in their hangars. And now on the second part of the question. So why those people are more eligible to play those tier 10 CVs from day 1 compaired to me that i admitably have free xped my way to them? After all in this new setting we are all equally ignorant. Those who had the ship they have it cause they grinded for it normally on it's RTS form but that doesn't make them any more eligible to play it compaired to me that i free xped it. Do you get it now why your frawn upon me is a misjudgment on your part? -

Perhaps "suffering" was too severe word to use but you probably remember how tedious it was to grind for Kurfurst through Fredrich der grosse. Let's face it. The game is built like this. To experience some good ships you have to get to them by grinding other not so enjoyable ones. So in that case it's time lost and in an unfun way not only because some ships grant you more losses than others but also because in general even on victories you end up below middle. Now ofc victories give the most fun but also losses where you had glorious matches of 150k+ damage etc are also sweet. Ofc some people can do that even on not so good ships (Flamu and the like) but the rest of us plebs usually don't do so well. Of course playing games is time lost from other stuff but if it gives you much fun it doesn't matter. Cetain ships though don't give so much fun so if one wants to avoid them it shouldn't be such a big deal now. Should it? As for the game i like most of it. I don't like only epicenter and matches with CVs and Ocean. Yes. That is pretty much. But apart that i like this game and i like the ship models and the sea... well... the sea after i saw the sea at Assassin's Creed Odyssey got to say that the sea on this game could get a tad better well not like AC Odyssey perhaps but more towards that but all in all this is a very enjoyable game. And yeah i admit i fell for that but then again it is because of people like me that perhaps spend too much and fall more easy than others that this game will keep on and perhaps even be totally free to play for so many others. So in the big picture i am actually aiding you all in an indirect manner. And of course you are right there at the end saying that "I have a strong ship but others have it too so in the end it doesn't help me" It is true. But i wanted to taste it you know... That power over the game. I never had the chance to play a CV in the past at high tier with relativly equal terms to the opponent. And now i had finally the chance and ofc i know the other guy on the other team had a similar ship to mine. So all in all i was not cheating or something. I had the big bad Haku but also my opponent had a similar one. I just prefer to play with good reliable ships i guess. And that is why i generaly prefer high tiers to lows. And if i play low tier it will be with a few selected ships i prefer over others. No harm done, just like you said. :) -

Mostly to express perhaps in an unusual and rather provocative manner that even this nerf that one would think that ruined me has infact made me even happier because as much as i liked CVs new playstyle and as much as i enjoyed the new Hakuryu so far (before the "hotfix") i never forget that always and above all the rest i just never really liked CVs presence in my matches and i was always thinking they affect the game in a negative way so i posted this thread to say that at least now with this "hotfix" i may have lost my Hakuryu that was giving me fun, even if for just one day, but with this nerf i gained all the other ships i may now play once more since with the nerf CVs now are close to useless so their numbers will go back to where they were and even less perhaps. So yeah i may have "wasted all these funds" in a sense but on the other hand my true dream came true and that was to see CVs vanish from the game or at least from most of matches. So i may "lose" in the sense that yeah Haku got nerfed and all the rest together with it but now that are crap people will abandon them and even if they don't they won't be affecting the game so much to make their presence relevant so we can go back and continue playing as before. And i think all these last months with CVs appearing only rarely the game had a chieved a nice balanced and enjoyable state by all. So i am happy we ll get back to that. That's all :) -

I like gaming you like caressing money. All happy :D -

Well it's all about TIME at the end of the day. My time is too precious to waste it on useless grinds with no real results. 150euros as exchange for so many lost hours of suffering are really not so big deal. Hell, i can make much more by working instead of waste all these hours grinding. So at the end of the day i actually make a profit from this move despite buying something that got immediately nerfed. Now what would happen if i hadn't free xped the Hakuryu... and the nerf had come previous to that move: well i d still get it all the same out of curiosity and also because i would think "hey people might be complaining in the forums that now it sucks but they might be exagerating... Yeah that must be it. It can't be tier 10 and suck! Probably they don't know any better" So i d probably get it all the same and then i would realize it sucks. At least as things went i managed to at least taste it's sweetness at least for 1 day :) As for the people that look down upon me because i free xped Hakuryu cause in their tiny minds think "he doesn't deserve it" i answer this: Why is it deserved to be owned by people that had it already before the change in it's new form? The new Hakuryu has nothing to do with the old Hakuryu before 0.8 . Yet that didn't stop people that already played CVs at the old RTS setting set foor immediately at tier 10 matches with the new Hakuryu with 0 prior experience. Why i don't deserve to do the same by your standards? Because i am a noob on CVs? Well and all those great players of old CVs are the same as me on the new patch as i was. Why they deserve to play Hakuryu from day 1 and the rest aren't? So your arguments do not stand up. Also i don't get your agenda about low tier matches and people playing them are ok for experimenting and tier 10 are not. Why? It's people that play those in both cases. They all deserve a good playing experience. As long as one has no right to ruin a tier 10 match he hasn't the right to ruin a tier 4. Cause all people should have equal rights to fun regardless of the tier they play. Let alone even at low tiers you rarely see new people anyway. Low tier matches are in vast majority played by people that are able to play tier 10s but they just go to play lesser tiers for a change. So even by your standards these people deserve to have fun just like people playing tier 10s . So playing lesser tier doesn't mean , and shouldn't mean that those people should be regarded as inferior or with lesser rights. -

Yes because i know how things work in such cases. You aim for a ship and you get to grind the shity ships to be able to finally enjoy the good ship but when you finally get there the "good" ship might not be so good any more due to nerfbat. And you are left with all these lost hours of tedious grinding and losses or generally bad performances that you submitted yourself for nothing! I still prefer what i did to what i just described you. Now i have some experience in this game and i could immediately figure that having to grind the terrible Shokaku in order to get someday to Hakuryu was unacceptable path to proceed. So why not get to the honey immediately without have my winratio suffer even more? I am quite unlucky anyway as it is. Now THIS was my first match with the Hakuryu on tier10 and i don't see why i should have grinded Shokaku previous to this... After all Shokaku and Hakuryu were as relative together as is salt with sugar. Watch the video and see for yourself that after all i didn't suck so bad so my choice didn't ruin my teamates at least. And that is always the goal isn't it? -

You never know some things... Stalingrad could have suffered the same fate as could Black. I really don't think the problem of WG was to "balance" things. After all absolute balance is no fun. The "fun" actually comes from imbalanced ships that placed on one and on the opposite team might still create an overall balance. Even if this balance is the result of individual imbalances. I think the problem of WG was that CVs suddently became too popular at the expense of other ship classes that people started not playing and this created matchmaking imbalance when you had quite often 2 cvs on each team or even 3! So i think the nerf came not because of what you think but in order to make CVs less popular. And now it will depend how it proceeds from now and on. If people keep playing them with the same enthusiasm as till now then more nerfs will arrive. If people stop playing them then they will be buffed again. Until the ideal number of people (for wargaming) will be playing the ships. -

People tend to complain all the time about pretty much everything and being ignored. Why this time would be any different. And despite the critisism from contributors beta testers and the like the company WG decided that the product was ready for release with all the authority they have so am i to be blamed for taking their word for granted that the product was ready for release? And as i said i had played other games with inferior tier CVs and lots of coop previous to that and lots of training room before even that. And i also saved the video of my play to see how i fared in my first match on tier 10 random. Not so bad for a "noob" right? -

Yes i did cause i wanted to get my hands on Hakuryu NOW and not after a few months that would get nerfed (or so i thought) and moreover in order to skip the terrible Shokaku that for granted would charge me and my teams with defeats and bad experiences since it sucks. Skipping it was a good thing both for me and the teams i relieved from my presence in Shokaku. At the end of the day you think it like this: "would the grief of the grinding be more tedious than spending 150euros and get the juicy stuff RIGHT NOW? " Well in my case the answer was obvious hence i don't feel sorry for my move. At the time it was taken it seemed like the most logical approach :) -

I was so CURIOUS to see what is like to play Hakuryu , i had watched others play it and was jealous ^_^ And also i did it to GET TO THE HONEY FROM START! (cause with old CVs i hadn't that chance, i started the game some months after release and even more months passed before i even take a first shot with old CVs. In the meantime the people that were playing them a;ready and many of them from beta testing were much better than me and i really couldn't stand to have my team suffer lost matches due to my incompetence and my "learning curve" exactly because i am a responsible kind of person. When new CVs arrived i thought that this time i won't leave even a day go wasted. I am gonna try and master CVs with equal chances to the others. That's why. Also i really didn't excpect a nerf bat so soon. This project had been worked for months and i thought that since they decided to release it after all this time they have tested thoroughly and it is a finalized "product". Ofc in an online game everything is prone to change at any time i just didn't thought they change it so soon. The past expeirence with WG had showed me that they change things rather slowly. So that immediate "hotfix" was not anticipated. -

Grumpy_Shark replied to Mad_Dog_Dante's topic in General Discussion
Oh i didn't just step into t10 match without any experience. I had played lots of tier 6 and some tier 4. Tier 10 is not so different don't try to impress me with "tier10" It's just that i saw some videos and couldn't wait the long grind let alone even if i had Haku already as some do because they played the old CVs they also have similar experience to mine in the new style CVs so your argument about experience "having aquired lots of experience in playing CVs before stepping into tier10 match" goes to dustbin. All in all 2 wins 2 losses one of which due to disconnect a malfunction on WGs part but as my name suggests luck was never on my side) Also that way i skiped the terrible Shokaku so i didn't have to grind it at all. Imagine if i had actually grinded Shokaku only to get to Haku only for it to get nerfed soon after. Now THEN I d be really pissed. 150euros are not so big deal for me. I had my fun even for 1 day. It is what it is... -

Well as of now you got what you wished for. Now the CVs and especialy Hakuryu are nerfed to the ground. So now they will be played even less than before. And to be completely honest i don't give a f... either cause in fact even if i had much fun for a week with the CVs and tried also Hakuryu gameplay and i liked it as it was, i always prefered if noone would play CVs at all. So now my old wish has come to be. Ofc noone is going to refund me the 45k doublons i gave to convert xp to free xp in order to speed research japanese CV line cause i was really curious to see how i would do in Hakuryu after all the stories i had heard and got to say i had much fun for 1 day cause as soon as i got it WG announced the upcoming nerf (yep my luck once more) But at least no more CVs now. They will be gone for good. So i may have lost all these doublons but at least i will worry about CVs no more because after this nerf noone is going to play them and even if some do they will be too crap to affect the outcome of battles. -
CVs about to get nerfed to the ground (yay, rejoice all CV haters)
Grumpy_Shark replied to valrond's topic in General Discussion
I tell you the real reason this"hotfix" happens now... I don't think they care about balancing and such nonsense. It's a much more cynical reason. The reason is that this new CV update became overpopular. It became so popular that people started inflating game with too many CVs. If people hadn't embraced the new CVs so much by now not only nerfs wouldn't arrive but we d have buffs instead! Oh yes. And "balancing" is only their lame excuse. So what WG wants is that people would play CVs much more than before, but they became even more popular than they would hope for. They became more popular than the game can afford. So they nerf them now in order the population that plays them diminishes! And they will keep nerfing them regardless of "balance" or "what is rightful". Untill the people playing them will reach the ideal per WG number. So that each match has one CV per team for the 70% of matches and the rest of 30% hasn't. (now on this i am not certain perhaps they want 80% of the matches to have 1 cv on each team. Perhaps they want that number at 90%) Now if after this change people keep playing CVs with the same enthusiasm even more nerfs will arrive. If instead tomorrow many people abandon them and become as unpopular as before they will buff them again! There you have it. The bitter cynical truth.
