Why i belive this - torpedo, and dive planes never run out of range of fighters that engage them, hence if fighter is moving slower then torp/dive bombers also have to move slower. #wg_send_help -

I use it for fighter planes on cruisers for DD hunting, and torp spotting. I belive it`s worth the single cap point, because if your plane gets shot down (and even DD`s can shoot down spotter/fighter planes quite reliably) you still have one in the air. Also it`s kinda useful for slowing down incoming planes - i belive that since dual planes are slower, they slow down squadrons they`re engaging even more than normal. -
Just checked achivements, and guess what i found: Gotta research -30 ships now.

Actually only on Atago, becuase it`s too damn long, and turns worse than some BBs. Vigiliance is useless against DWT, and borderline useless against F3 spam (Shima, Zao, Yugumo). -

Longjiang is the same but better, because your smokes are actually useful. I`ll admit i have 17 point cap`s on both v-25, and longjiang for seal clubbing purposes -
Posted b4 but i`ll bump: Warn player, and/or block entering battle for e.g. 10 seconds if you ran out of camo paint, or flags, and can`t resupply for any reason.

Because DDs, and CVs need more nerfs. Airspotting is way more effective way to deal with DD`s than even radar because you can stay comfortably outside torpedobeat zone and daka-daka. Hell no. 1 CV per game is enough.

Yugumo. Smokes are for "less brave players" though. If you know what you CAN`T do, and act accordingly Yugumo will be an unstoppable force. Your torps are great, and can fire from outside radar range, also you get a massive gun upgrade over kagero which allows you to outgun US DD quite eaisly assuming you don`t knife fight, and maintain distance. Last but not least you are way smaller than Shima, so you`re less of a target to shoot at. DDs get eaisly rekt by any competent carrier though. (Shut it Kidd) -

You are a destroyer. Only bigger. And with eaisly exploitable citadel. Therefore play as you would play a destroyer, but don`t rush into BB line of fire. Also i don`t recommend sitting still, full broadside in your smoke. I don`t even mean that radar will kill you - it`s just really easy to hit smoked up ship using spotting plane`s angle of view ( and i belive this is the sole purpose of taking the spotter plane on a BB in the first place ). You`ll also present less of a target to any incoming torpedos. Optimally you should sit as angled as it`s allowed by firing arcs, and/or behind an island.

-> First let your DD`s recognize which enemy DD`s arrived in your neighbourhood. -> Don`t open fire as soon as the first enemy is spotted. Close distance as much as possible in regards to enemy DD lineup (general, or specific if your DDs already spotted whatever DD enemy sent on your side), or open fire when broadside cruisers are spotted (usually spotted after battleships) -> Prioritize enemy DDs unless there is full-hp broadside Yamato 5km infront of you. Blap DDs each and every time they are spotted. -> First consider how you are going to get out, then how to get in, so you don`t have to suddenly do a 360-full-broadside-turn. -> Keep in mind that you are an XP pinata for DDs, and they do track your movement. -

So this happened. Tank basicly entire enemy team (minus three ships), while your team of jolly potatoes manages to get rekt by single minotaur, shima, and yamato. 4m potential though... -

For BBs that push in Asashio wll be no different than PA DD Again one anti-DD DD is enough to spell game over for Asashio - or actually any DD with RPF, since even Kagero outguns this ship. Also any sort of teamwork will eaisly defeat Asashio since in this particular case you can use any CA or DD as torpedo screen between you and general position of the enemy. You really have to screw up for this to happen. -

Then what about the whole PA DD line? And they also have guns to defend themself, aswell as an option to mount radar, in place of a US-DD class smokes with literally 0 cooldown if set up right (November Foxtrot, Jack of all trades, and premium smoke give you 2 second smoke downtime IIRC). Oh and they can also torp cruisers. -

Nor does it have an ability to counter any other torps, that can be fired outside of spotting range. Yes, however the further your BBs are pushed back the closer (to caps) enemy CAs can get thus making your DDs irrelevant, and therefore losing the game for you. And i still belive that going further back is absolutely useless for countering Asashio since with even 16km range he can get you even at 10th line, and if you get there you might aswell be dead since you won`t be of any use to your team anyway. -

It`s not, but Asashio is a ->dedicated<- BB counter, he does that one thing exceptionally well, but can`t do anything else. IJN DD line in general takes a huge dump on any BB within torpedo range (maybe except USS Free-XP, but it`s not the point), but they are (usually) far more balanced in their power so they can for example contest caps against other DDs, which Asashio simply can`t do. If you really want to know what i mean get yourself a Mutsuki, and try to contest caps against other DDs - it`s balance of power is almost the same as Asashio`s, but at least you can torp enemy DDs. -

Again, Asashio is borderline useless at anything beside countering BB`s, therefore it`s no really suited for people attempting to grind through techtree. It`s a specialist ship, and it has no place in the techtree. -

IMHO Asashio + Akizuki/Loyang division will be very VERY strong. Or actually a division of Asashio + any hard DD counter. The point is that if you manage to survive in Asashio until all enemy DD`s are dead (and game isn`t over by that point) then it`s basicly G&G. I belive that Asashio is meant to alleviate the battleship cancer that plagues WoWs atm. And boy he does that pretty well. However as it was mentioned before it`s borderline useless in any other role outside of scouting, thus the important question is whether caps are more important than kills (that you may or may not get). Also Asashio isn`t overpowered by any means. If enemy bb`s are using WASD hack properly, there is very little chance of scoring multiple hits - even with F3 fishes (currently fastest in game). The 0.7km (or 0.9km) is also useless if you have any competent DD screening the area infront of your bb`s. -

Atago is actually straight-up better than Mogami, because of smaller citadel, way better deck armor (better kiting), and heal. Still though 155mm Mogami is painful to deal with. -

And what about those straight-up garbage premiums, like Huanghe, Perth, Graf Spee, etc.? There are actually very few examples of premiums that are straight up better than their f2p counterpart. Most are gimmicky, and/or situational ships that gain no real advantage because of being a premium ship. Atago, and Loyang should be nerfed though. -
DD Player Forced to Play BB's to Get Citadels

Meh... Not long ago i got like 10 citadels on an enemy Neptune. With Yugumo. It can be done, but after all it`s not THAT hard to play battleships (surprising?) - just don`t go full broadside, and you`re going to be fine.
