I picked up 4 captain slots along with 5x Zulu signals and 5x Papa Papa signals in a 'More signals and camo' container today. That will give me a bit of breathing room, as I've never bought any of those. -
On the changes to the 'misbehaviour in chat' reports: does this only apply to players who have not written any text in chat? Do the pre-set Fx messages and map-pinging make a player eligible to be reported? I hope they do, because I use this type of report a lot for players who spam these two features. Also, I noticed on the Asia portal that purchasing premium time will automatically change the port to Hawaii. Please don't implement that, there's really no good reason. If people want Hawaii, they can pick it.

I know what you mean Architekton. I've seen different people report getting exactly the same rewards for picking the same type of crate on the same day (specifically, I saw someone else report exactly the same rewards within a few hours of post 404). I'm convinced that the regular container rewards are pre-determined. I think I might suggest to the container spreadsheet guy that everyone picks the same type of crate each week, to see if this really is the case. -
Tako finally hitting the EU server
300ConfirmedKills replied to silence5's topic in General Discussion
29=512 I can deal with that. -
You can't compliment the complement of your div.

I think they should have doubled rewards for successfully bringing Transylvania to the portal. There's not enough incentive to actually complete the mission in my opinion.

To clarify, what I described took place with my very first torp salvoes, before I'd taken any hits.

Deals for converting elite to free xp?
300ConfirmedKills replied to BruceForce's topic in General Discussion
Play T7 or higher and stack Papa Papa flags with Equal Speed Charlie London, +100% XP camo, daily win and Premium account and you'll have plenty of free XP pretty quickly. -
I think I've experienced this with Benson. I fire one salvo, line up the second and *click* - nothing there. Maybe they both launched the first time? I don't know…

Opened yesterday's supercontainer and found 100 Dragon Flags. Not bad, I'll save these until I have some premium time. -

I've opened 13 'Try your luck' containers and the best I received was 3000 free XP. Aside from one crate of 100 000 credits, the rest were 5x signals. I decided to switch to 'More signals and camo' for the duration of ranked and the first three combined already gave me 1500 free XP. On my second day with 'More signals', the second container was a super container. I'm waiting until to tomorrow to open it. -
I don't really have a problem with the high XP requirement for the third crate. A moderate session will earn two crates easily, which is a worthwhile reward. It's good to have some achievements which require a bit of effort to reach. That said, it's disappointing when you're on course to reach the third crate, but the daily reset is about to happen. It would be nice if some of your unspent XP towards the third crate carried over to the next day - maybe 20% or so.

Does anyone know what happens to upgrades you equip to the event ships after the event ends?

Rendezvous? Did that make it onto the live server? I haven't seen it yet.

0.5.13 Bug: Battles should always start zoomed out, but rarely do
300ConfirmedKills replied to SmartassNoob's topic in Archive
Yes, but in previous updates it was fully zoomed out from the moment you loaded in. It should revert to that behaviour. -
The ships haven't been out for two weeks yet.

Retraining captain; penalties still active in Premium ship.
300ConfirmedKills replied to lup3s's topic in Archive
lup3s, you are correct: the captains should get the benefit of their skills during retraining when assigned to a Premium ship. I think I've seen this bug reported elsewhere with a simple workaround.- 20 replies

Is the Belfast REALLY overpowered?
300ConfirmedKills replied to Drunken_Jedi's topic in General Discussion
If you look at Belfast's end plating, you'll find that it's only 13 mm, which is thin enough to be overmatched by heavy cruisers. Cruisers from all lines except RN get 16 mm - enough to bounce heavy cruisers from the front - from T6. Perhaps not 'very soft', but definitely noticeably softer. -
We all know that the cost of supplying a premium ship comes nowhere close to the price that is charged in the shop, but it's possible to 'suspend our disbelief' when they're not available any other way. Once WG starts handing them out trivially, it's hard not to feel like you've been duped by paying for one. In my case, I feel silly for buying Texas now that they hand it out to anyone who accepts a referral. The solution I'd like to see is a blanket cost reduction in the cost of premiums in the shop, rather than WG toning down their limited generosity. The difference being that you can turn off the ARP ships if you wish, but there is no such option for any other errors. Personally, I'd like to be able to use the ARP ships with the vanilla skin, but if the shiny paintjob is the cost of two free port slots, I'm not complaining.

Is the Belfast REALLY overpowered?
300ConfirmedKills replied to Drunken_Jedi's topic in General Discussion
I think Belfast is OP, but not to the extent some are making it out to be. For me, the hallmark of an OP game mechanic is that a single player can consistently put themselves in a position where only teamwork can defeat them. The only time Belfast approaches that level is for the duration of radar (and to a lesser extent, hydroacoustics) when smoked up. True, she does not need radar or HA to deal damage from smoke, but if someone else is spotting it's really at least a 2v1 engagement, hence it's reasonable for the enemy to be at a disadvantage. If Belfast is not OP, she must have a same-tier counter (that's not to say she's not OP because she has a counter). She does: anything with with 186 mm or larger guns. Belfast's ends have 13 mm plating, which is only enough to bounce light cruisers. With Belfast in smoke, a heavy cruiser with a sensor who rushes has the advantage. Yorck and Indianapolis would both be particularly strong in this engagement. In open water, Myoko and Schors can run Belfast down, provided she has been spotted. Spotting Belfast, is not a given of course, but it's not atypical, considering that she will usually smoke up relatively close to the action and is often spotted when it dissipates. If I was asked to nerf Belfast, I'd probably put radar and hydroacoustics in the same slot and increase her detection radius by up to a kilometre. -
The statements above are incorrect or misleading. I have the Katori (T3) and it makes as much money for me as my Texas or Scharnhorst unless I have Premium time. Granted, I run two premium consumables on the BBs and don't run any on Katori, but it goes to show that lower tier ships can be worthwhile credit earners (Clemson and Izyaslav are two non-prem favourites of mine). For a player trying to maximise returns on real money spent, the right low tier premium could be a good idea. Though for players who buy premium time, the higher tier premium ships are more profitable. There is no relationship between repair cost and ship type. Tier and premium status are the only two factors. Even then, the service costs of Premium and standard ships are the same from T2 to T5. The difference between the two becomes noteworthy only at T8, where it is 22,500 cr - enough for an additional consumable.

I've heard rumours that if you 'try your luck' for your tenth crate, you are guaranteed to receive 100k credits. Can anyone else confirm this? 100k credits is the biggest reward I've received from a 'try your luck' and I've gotten the achievement for ten crates, though I can't recall if I got them at the same time. I wonder what the other crate achievements (open crates 5 days in a row, open 100 crates, open 1000 crates) grant if they do give predetermined rewards.
