Just because a BB is pointing away doesn't mean the guns are not aimed at the enemy. Don't forget these ships have turrets unlike ships of the line. So if you're one one of those players who starts furiously clicking the map when they see a BB doing this, please go and look up things like angling the range of torpedoes the range of HE spamming cruisers It's pretty standard pattern - run in, turn away to the corner, that way you're angled against both the flank you're on and the opposite flank while still using those swivelly guns to shoot at the enemy, have forward speed and can therefore manouvre a bit, and don't get so close that you are immediately overwhelmed by the enemy's fire starting fire. Which is nice The tricky bit is knowing when to turn back in and not get blapped in the process

Ah ok I think I've got in now I'll get 10 containers = 28% chance of not getting then i'll get another 10 = 56% total chance of not getting but I won't open 4 of them therefore saving 60% so 28 +28 -60 = -4% chance of not getting a ship - winner! Is that right ?

So if i've understood you correctly , if you buy 10 containers 4 times the chances of you not getting a ship are 28 x 4 = 112% i.e. a dead cert. Therefore the fewer containers you buy the more likely you'll get a ship. On this basis i'll buy no containers and look forward to getting all the ships

Many would say that deciding it's a lost cause right at the start and spreading bad sentiment among your team is as bad as anything else. I'm certainly not going to try that hard when some cretin is spamming negative vibes in the chat. I have had MM running for a while for interest's sake. It's amazing how low the average win rate is on teams. It's also amazing how many games don't go to form.

It's true that having a big impact on the result is a lot harder in these types of cruiser than the other classes as they lack the knock out punch and/or are difficult to get into a position where they can deliver a knock out punch without getting destroyed.

Well I used to think that having had all sorts of horrors grinding up to Minotaur, but lately have had quite a bit of success (relatively) with Surrey, Albermarle and Schorrs of all things using the strategy given. None of these have any apparent benefit to angling. Even the mighty Celebes (so OP that it doesn't get any ASW weaponry at all) has kinda worked. The main thing is: don't get hit.

Well at least this has motivated me to continue the fun with the New Mexico. I'm nearly there in that tub of excitement and, oh boy, can I not wait to get stuck into the Colorado as that looks even more thrilling.

I think you're confusing positioning with angling. Correct positioning is a position where you can shoot at the enemy and is either: 1) Behind some granite armour 2) Where the enemy can't see you or failing either of those 3) Where the enemy isn't aiming Do please keep showing flat broadside to me if that's what you think is going to work. My aim is not the best and it makes life considerably easier for me.

I've had plenty of games where the division was a complete hindrance as it just meant there were 2/3 ships sailing around being useless together.

So in addition to Islands torping us they now push us around? Brings a new aspect to PvE i suppose.
