    Developer Bulletin: Update 0.9.4

Yeah i kind of think so too. The only issue is that if they come out from DDs (at Tier 6 as we already know the tier), the Tech-trees will be somewhat confusing. They kind of screwed it up a bit when they changed the Carriers from the BB side to the DD side and i think it should still be the old way around, not from a gameplay standpoint, but for a sense of "hierarchy" which i'll put right below, that goes: - Aircraft Carriers - Battleships - Crusiers - Destroyers - Submarines which can be expanded in: - Aircraft Carriers (CV) - Escort Carriers (CVE) - Battleships (BB) - Battlecruisers (CB) - "Pocket Battleships" (i.e. Deutschland class) - Heavy Cruisers (CA) - Light cruisers (CL) - Scout Cruisers (Example: Atlanta Class; technically they can still be considered light crusiers) - Destroyers (DD) - Destroyer Escorts (DE) - Sumbarine Aircraft Carriers (I-400 class) - Submarines (SS) - Coastal Submarines - Midget Submarines I think that the tech tree should be following this (the first "simpler" one: CV - BB - CA - DD - SS) "hierarchy" to be more straightforward; i mean, if they add subs without putting CVs back to the other side, something like the USN tech-tree is going to be a bit of a mess.

I assume it won't change anything that you have already on.

I think it will maybe get them later, while the cruisers in the article might be just for initial testing.

    Developer Bulletin: Update 0.9.4

I have a small question (i don't know if it has been already aswered, in which case i forgot, or it wasn't) From which class will the Submarines' branch come out form the tech-tree? P.S. I suspect it will be either DDs or CVs

So, today i took out the Fuso after a while for a spin. It made me remember why i love/loved her (that being citadelling stuff left, right and center). I did 91k dmg and also, 1.6 milion potential dmg. However, my teams these days are just completely potato (this team had 8 people with less than 50% WR and 6 people had less than 1k battles). I just couldn't save the game.

ST - German aircraft carriers renaming

Also, i'd like to add that at the current speed (25 knots) Tier 7 ish and higher BBs (and some Tier 6 BBs with speed flag) can just outrun those torpedoes in a straight line.

ST - German aircraft carriers renaming

@CptBarney and @Sunleader they could do something like the EU DDs; they could buff the speed making the torps faster, at least faster than originally planned by WG, as @CptBarney just said and then they could nerf the damage, making them "balanced". (between air quotes 'cause you know, they are CVs).

    Unexpected achievement

So... today i logged in and i get this achievement. I don't really know why i got it; it says that it's for having completed a mission from a stream, I assume it's for the one of the European containers as in fact i did completed one of those missions, but that was some time ago and this achievement is a bit... late. Am i right about it?

    Submarines: How to Play

Sure and that's what i think too. They could; in fact, as far as i know, at least some aerial torpedos could be trimmed to curve a bit to the left or to the right and the "torp" sights on something like a B5N or a SM.79 Sparviero could be aggusted for than, below the cockpit of the B5N

    Submarines: How to Play

Well... about homing torpedoes ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acoustic_torpedo ) The first passive acoustic torpedoes were developed nearly simultaneously by the United States Navy and the Germans during World War II. The Germans developed the G7e/T4 Falke, which was first deployed by the submarines U-603 , U-758 and U-221 in March 1943. Few acoustic torpedoes were actually used and quickly phased out of service in favor of the T4's successor, the G7es T5 Zaunkönig torpedo in August 1943. The T5 first saw widespread use in September 1943 against North Atlantic escort vessels and merchant ships in convoys. On the Allied side, the US Navy developed the Mark 24 mine, and was actually an aircraft launched, anti-submarine passive acoustic homing torpedo. The first production Mk. 24s were delivered to the U.S. Navy in March 1943, and it scored its first verified combat kills in May 1943. About 204 torpedoes were launched against submarine targets, with 37 Axis submarines being sunk and a further 18 damaged. Since its introduction, the acoustic torpedo has proven to be an effective weapon against surface ships as well as serving as an anti-submarine weapon. Today, acoustic torpedoes are mostly used against submarines.

Today i reached Tier 4 (HMS Wakeful) in my Royal Navy DD grind; so far so good. I have expirienced some games with CVs (mostly double CV games) but it wasn't as bad as i thought, i mean, they are still carriers and they are completely broken, but i honestly thought it was way worse; maybe it's because i've already faced at higher tiers, so i kind of know how to "deal" with them, more or less.

    Naval History in Photos: April

@Crysantos I have a small issue with the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Yamato pictures, the ship shown is the Yamato, but in 1944 during the Battle of the Sibuyan Sea as the ship misses the 25mm AA mounts of the sides, which were installed later. Plus, on Wikipedia, there is literally the same picture, but with the right ligend, see this link Also, in the spoiler there's the same picture, again, taken from another site, with, however, the right legend this is the "right" picture, and as you can see, all those 25mm mounts are there. (highlighted in the spoiler)

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

So, as you guys already know, i'm grinding the Royal Navy, Russian, Pan-Asian and American DDs to get better at Destroyers. I just had this match in the Valkyrie, i'm focusing a bit on RN DDs for now, where basically i took out 2/3 of the enemy team (8 kills), basicaly my highest ammount of kills ever (outside of Operations).

    Any new coal ships coming?

That's in fact the first thing i thought when they said it. We in fact discussed it a bit on Flamu's Discord. I really hope it's not and that it's something else, because, besides for the looks, Odin is just complete crap. The only things that are in theory still good about it are the concealment and the armour, just because they weren't nerfed. As i said before, Odin lost any interest from me since the HP nerf. I mean, at the current state, why would anyone get Odin, when he can get either Scharnhorst or Tirpitz (of course not for coal) and get a way better ship? Every coal ship, from Tier 5 upwards, is from decent to basically OP, depending on the ship, but Odin is just bad, not worth it.

    Any new coal ships coming?

So... all we know is that the next coal ship will be a German BB as said in a KoTS stream a few days ago. Also, we of course know that Moskva will become a coal ship, but since you already have it (and WG said that you'll keep it), it kinda doesn't count.

    ST - free Premium consumables

thx. Also, now i do see and kind of agree with your point. I actually remembered Tony Stark's quote from Spiderman:Homecoming, when he says to Peter:"... if you're nothing without this suit, then you shouldn't have it". link I think that for now it's best to wait and see what WG does; on April 15th (it's a Wednesday) WG should pubblish the Dev. bulletin of 0.9.4, as they usually pubblished the dev. bulletin the first wednesday after the current patch got released, and we might get some more info there.

But, why do you do it tho? If they are runnig away they are not a threat, but chasing them is a mistake and a mistake that Flamu sees quite a lot, with players chasing down evemy ships into their spawn, and in doing this, isolating themselves from the battle and not helping their team, while the rest of the enemy team just erases yours. While i kind of agree that WoWS doesn't have a simple learning curve and i'd like to add that id also depends of the class, with BBs having the "easiest" learning curve, Cruisers being in the middle and DDs having the "hardest" (i don't even want to talk about CVs). I also agree on the fact that CCs play a huge part into "training players"; in fact, about 90% of what i've learned, i've learned it from Flamu, even the captain builds are almost copies his builds (+ or - a couple of skills sometimes). However, i have to say that, from personal experience, if a player knows what he's doing and what he needs to do, doesn't need premium consumables at all; in fact, I only use premium consumables only when i play with someone else, but in solo, i don't use them. The reason is that, when i first started playing, i didn't used them because of credit issues; which is kind of understandable, but later and right now (after i've learned more), i don't use them simply because i don't really need them; my playstyle has adapted to not having them, but, at least stats wise, i'm good regardless. I don't have any problems with not having them. For example, i grinded all the way from Amagi to Izumo without premium consumables. Also, here is one of my first battles with the Amagi, see spoiler

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

So... to have something to do in these "pre-patch" days, where there are no directives or missions (beisdes the daily ones). I decided to start grinding those lines that i still didn't, those being beiscally the RN, Russian and Pan-asian DD lines. I also wanted to get better at DDs and i think it's better to start back from the beginning, i.e. Tier 2. I don't think it's sealclubbing, 'cause i mean, if you start a new line, you start from the lowest tier. Plus i just use a 3 points cpt (Priority target and Last stand). I actually feel pretty okay in DDs so far. This was my third and last battle in the Medea, when i got my first Kraken in a while. The proof that i'm just grinding a new line and not sealclubbing

    ST - free Premium consumables

Agreed. In fact, this change evens out the table, giving more importance to the skills and knowledge on the players. Also, i'd like to remind to everyone that the game started without premium consumables.
