    Thinking of getting a premium

As somebody who was wrongly diagnosed with that crapI take some offence. Nah, not really, not personally, but nevertheless it's not exactly good manners. It's a [edited]serious condition, a lot of people end up killing themselves because of it.

    Ship relative angle, mod.

Basically all but purely graphical mods should be banned. This game has enough balancing issues without people introducing more with hardly any control over it. That's that, I really don't see how more reasoning is required.

    Reported for what?

Thx, let's see if my commendable chat behavior reaped rewards. Err... They do realize that they basically gave trolls something to measure their success by, do they?
  4. Close enough for the second, first looks more like little Nürnberger, which do not count, because you can't put them on a proper grill. They'd just fall through. Sorry, but no detectable sense of humor whatsoever and least of all when it comes to Wurst.
  5. That's not even close to the original Bratwurst. Needs to be charred - you know, on account of being properly burned from dripping fat over charcoal - a lot more and at no point comes something outlandish as salad even near it. And where the friggin fornication is the mustard? Pft.

Ok, potato question right here then, but where do I even see my karma?

    People acusing me of cheating

Mock them in chat, then proceed to offer helpful advice once they're sufficiently raging. Basically I'm aiming for an annoyrism. Gotta have goals in life. Funny thing is I'm really mediocre at best, still happens just about any decent game I have. What's wrong with those people? Last time it was a Kiev captain who just couldn't accept the black magic of aiming for his muzzle flashes in smoke. Detonated him, which was a pity. He was sitting there motionless, I intended to try to ram him in my manly Fuso. You know, highly honourable and that. He was so obviously stuck in zoom, I was sure he'd a) forget about his torps, b) even if not, aim badly and c) was sitting nose on to an island anyway. The only way he could have been more efficient at getting himself sunk would have been by handing out power drills to his crew. Two minutes into the game and he went on a rage spree for the next ten. Highly enjoyable, your wife is a big hippo! By the end of the match everyone was just laughing their backsides of in chat, should have taken screenshots really. Long may it continue, in other words. The game can be annoying enough at times, but cheat accusations are among the things that keep the flaws bearable.

every game lost, think of giving up already

That would be really nice to have, yes. Not for bragging - although it will undoubtedly deteriorate into that, but who cares - but for better self-assessment. I mean... win or loss, but I'm always among the top three of my team, except for the games I got one-shot in a cruiser right at the start, lost the very first DD knife-fight or was suddenly attacked by an island in my BB and got focused down three minutes into the game.... err... all of which I thankfully tend to forget rather quickly, while the games I carried so hard I was about to give birth to my colon stay pretty lively in my mind for quite some time.

Destroyer vs Radar + planes in every battle 90% uptime

In general it's not a problem, since there isn't even one US/RU cruiser in lots of matches. The mechanic would be more interesting and beneficial to more teamwork, if it couldn't see through islands, but... well, most probably wouldn't bother. They rarely do.

    New coordinator reporting for duty

Who cares about battle count? What everybody wants to see sky-rocketing is the little number right below your avatar pic... There's the challenge, let's see you not back down, alright? Bring us as much info as you can get your hands on, take as much constructive criticism as you can from the forums and get some feedback on it and everybody will be happy. Sometimes even for minutes at a time. Good luck.

Bismarck insane, or is it just how this game will work now?

The Bismarck is certainly OP. She kind of forces BB players to actually do their job and then the miracle of that actually leading to better results somehow happens, without anybody ever intending things to turn out that way. The BB infestation is real, but the Bismarck (and the Gneisenau to a lesser extend, but not ranked, so apparently insignificant for now) is the one ship one really shouldn't complain about. She's a delightful blessing. (May my fingers fall off for typing that about a friggin Nazi ship.)

    crying battleships want everything nerfed

Actually I did it exactly like that. I started out with playing DDs more or less exclusively (and badly, since all I was really interested in was yoloing), discovered some cruisers get torps too (and more hp to allow for even more mindless yoloing at tiers where people can't hit cits reliably) and only started to even touch BBs quite late into the game. I found cruisers, once past the early tiers, quite demanding, certainly needed to adjust my style a lot to become even mediocre in them (and an infinitely better DD player as a bonus), while BBs are just a breeze. All you need to do is learn not to repair every single fire, keep varying your course and point your nose early enough in the direction of approaching planes. Alright, protect your citadel also, but after getting deleted often enough in cruisers that comes quite naturally. All in all: BBs are by far the easiest class to play, the problem simply is, that for exactly that reason they are also the hardest class to learn anything in. WG cannot really block access to the entire class, nor should they, but maybe BBs should become a test case for a new mechanic: requirements not only in XP earned on the ship, but also some ship specific mandatory achievements. For one obvious case: To advance from the Gneisenau to the MS OP-plz-nerf that could be a certain number of matches with a certain high amount of potential damage. In other words: proof you understand that you got what the role of the ship is. Start with that at tier 5, that seems to be the moment players are thrown head-first into cold waters anyway. Award some badge or other, seems to motivate people, so maybe it wouldn't even be perceived that much as a restriction. Hey, BBs get these cool missions other classes don't have. Told you they're the real deal... *ggg* Whatever works...

Ranked Battles S5 [all rank battle topics merged]

I'm saying this as somebody who is more likely found in a DD myself: BBs do not have a problem to deal with DDs, it's just a bit harder than cit'ing cruisers from safe distance and requires a different approach. Get an Ishizuchi, brilliant ship for learning how to deal with DDs in a BB. Really rekindled my interest in that ship, not all that trollish, when you play it as a DD hunter (often enough there aren't enough cruisers these days even at low tiers and even if, they seem to have become more passive - wonder why...). You can push, where cruisers can't and DDs usually do not expect it, so you can catch them out often enough. Got four in my last match in that ship before the focus fire from three BBs finally managed to sink the mighty Zucchini. Acceptable and given the current economy that was quite a nice credits boost. I didn't even fire a single salvo back at those BBs btw, I had more enjoyable targets in the form of confused DDs. Give it a try, it's fun. That and the irony of BB players complaining about a lack of cruisers after they made them a lot less viable by their sheer numbers is... delicious.

    Battleships Everywhere!

Like your sig. There are three variants of totalitarianism, fascist, stalinist and market. Little known, but obvious fact. The quote on the other hand... some anime thing again? Tedious, but the free ships are still nice.

    Battleships Everywhere!

Found the Shchors to be a chore, but actually enjoy taking out all that free East-German nightclubs, err Kongos now. True enough, you end up in tier 7 battles 8 out of 10 these days, but that's exactly the fun part. Unforgiving enough that I finally bothered to learn how to BB properly. Even took the Fuso to ranked, but... well, horrible mode, quickly lost interest. Nevertheless, I think the only way to actually stop the infestation is to join. Only when there are simply no other classes left in the game will WG finally think again.

Smoke from fires on your ship and torpedo lead indicator.

Counts as realism. When your ship's on fire you can't really expect your crew to function as efficiently, can you? Mistakes are bound to happen, when the aiming is done by guys with pants on fire.

  19. This. Tiers 5 and 6 used to be somewhat the sweet spot of the game, where overall balance felt right, no ship (maybe with the exception of the Mutsuki and the Ognewoi before turret HP buff) was just horrible and the population big enough to get decent MM any time of the day. Screwed up for no good reason, since the apparent objective of making life for new players easier turns out to be one of the biggest fails ever. Yes, tier 4 is a bit easier probably, but that's more than offset for the culture shock of tier 5 that follows very, very soon. After all you really don't need that many battles to make it past tier 4 and then our beloved newbie is dropped headfirst right into a quite unforgiving environment, where he quickly learns that his shiny new tier 5 ship is the equivalent of a donkey among race horses most of the time. Just think of maps a New York has trouble even crossing during a match or the number of cruiser citadelled with ease from any angle by at the very least half of the BBs they encounter. Total screw up, certainly not going to grow the player base.

    Russian Destroyer Nerf

Well, there are different ways to nerf a ship than just picking one strong point and obliterate it. A couple of minor nerfs across the board will achieve just the same - making the ship a bit less easy - but will keep more options open. Little bit of range, little bit of space, little longer till the spotting penalty goes away, in short a combination of factors, that'll weaken the ship across the board a bit. Yes, they didn't just nerf the range, but that just makes this attempt just even more over the top. Also I'd go about it differently. Why have public test servers and just test one change to a ship? I'd use those to offer ppl a whole choice of ship varieties (different nerfs in this case, let's say three to five), see which ones are popular, how they perform, what builds people come up with and take that as the base for deciding what will make it into the live system. Maybe slightly more effort - slightly, this is just tweaking numbers, not new models - but you get more meaningful results from players actually playing the ship. As it is the process as a whole is broken, the game is constantly stuck in Beta. Btw, this patch is horrible just alone for the reason that it tries to do too much in one go. Should have been either about ship balance or economy not both in one go and talking of the economy... well, that didn't even see any test at all on a broader basis. Why? Because ppl on the PTS had to be showered in silver and gold to allow them to test high tier balance. See what I mean? It was clearly one or the other, you really couldn't get it both done properly. It's neither instead.

    Russian Destroyer Nerf

Wasn't talking about making credits, was I? The worrying thing is that the higher you go in the tiers, the more you're pretty much pressed into certain builds. Why even bother to offer options, if only one or two are really viable? The new Khaba is just the most striking example. Imo that's covering up bad balancing to begin with (well balanced ship does not become that OP when maxed out in the first place) by even worse balancing, since now you're left with just the one way to make it even work. Why bother? That's boring in the extreme. Shabby job, WG.

    New map - Shards

Both teams have to deal with that, so the better attempt at communication is rewarded. Don't see that much wrong with that, truth be told. Anyway, I accept losses, when my team is full of campers. Basically I really don't think they deserve to win, so I'll just concentrate on trying to get some kills and/or medals out of the game. Why should I bother to carry and play the objectives? In the end that's just enabling them to carry on with counter-productive styles of play. No, bad tactics should result in losses. Just smile at them from the top of the team results... you're usually not the one taking the economic hit there, right? From my perspective this is actually a strong point about the map: corner huggers are rendered quite insignificant. I'd hope there's an educational element right there. *g*
  23. tenacious_torps

    Russian Destroyer Nerf

What I dislike about the nerf is basically, that there's no even a small chance to make a non-standard build work now. There should be room for variety, since it's fun to try to make something not quite so obvious work. Then again, fun and tier X seem by all accounts not go together all that well, if I go by what I read and see. If WG carry on like this we'll end up with little incentive for sane persons to even grind past tier 4.
  24. tenacious_torps

    New map - Shards

Disagree, mainly because it's more than one narrow passage. A higher number of high risk, high possible reward situations can cancel each other out and make for good variation in battles. When there's only one it's just a way of deciding the game early. Let's see how this plays out, I think the map has potential.
  25. tenacious_torps

    Economy

There certainly are some inconsistencies and it's not entirely clear doing what will net you what. Maybe consider running test servers with actual economy instead of showering people in silver and gold, so you can test some by comparison marginal balance issues. Surely a change to the whole economy would have warranted a bit more preparation and care. That being said, on average I seem to be profiting from recent changes, so no complaints as far as net income is concerned, but the process... well, it just stinks.
