Because I would like to help even more with improving the community?

Well, at least this time it's a 3D girl...

It's a tier 3 BB, who gives a damn? If you absolutely have to have a sealclubber at that tier just get the Albert.

What is wrong with this game....
tenacious_torps replied to barbabarba's topic in General Discussion
Gunboat shima build best shima build. -
Btw, does anybody believe it's entirely coincidental, that you get 11 reports and 11 other players on your team? I'm not convinced they do it for entertainment purposes, but it's these little touches that keep me in this game.

[How to:] Play around RADAR

Can't win a game regardless.

As good an explanation as any I've ever heard -
I tried to play the OP this morning. From what I've seen: bots > players.

So... when will any actually fun ship go on discount?

How Many Battles In A Premium Ship Before It Pays For Itself?
tenacious_torps replied to The_Finnster's topic in General Discussion
This is easy. If you're not absolutely certain you will have a lot more fun in a premium than you would have otherwise, prem time is the better investment, since it will increase your profits across the board. Which is not, for example, depending on changes in the meta or rules of the game, so not only is your investment yielding better results, it will also do so a lot more reliable. If that wasn't convincing, ask yourselves this: do you trust WG's stewardship of the game enough, to be even sure the game's life span is even long enough for breaking even with your premium ship? I have my doubts, considering how prone to complete clusterfornications they are. -
Is it just me and I'm simply having bad luck with the sort of players I encounter today or is the heat making people extremely aggressive and prone to even more than the usual amounts of insults (especially sexually loaded ones) and threats? Unbe-friggin-lievable. I'm not exactly a shy wallflower when it comes to a bit of banter or calling out bad plays, but today has a new quality. At this point I somewhat felt obliged to send in two replays already; after five matches played. It's like people are off their rocker already and we're not even at noon.

[How to:] Play around RADAR
tenacious_torps replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
Only one question remains unanswered: How do I get the daft buggers to actually support me and maybe even more importantly, how do I get those who actually do support to stick to it and not turn and run at the first shot fired in their general direction? A 3 DD division with one capping and the other two herding the team into relevant positions under the threat of torping them clean off the map is still against TOS, is it? -
How to get that teased free week of Premium Account?
tenacious_torps replied to FearsomeFlotsam's topic in General Discussion
Thx for the effort. But it's still no big deal to me. There have been much more fun and enraging things and I'm still here, so... It's too hot anyway, don't break a sweat. -
Is the Game Getting A Bit To Ship Heavy??
tenacious_torps replied to Cyclops_'s topic in General Discussion
Modelling and designing ships is very likely not done by the same people, who design maps. Would I prefer more variety when it comes to battlefields? Hell, yes! But I don't see how this is related to the frequency of new lines/ships being introduced at all. -
How to get that teased free week of Premium Account?
tenacious_torps replied to FearsomeFlotsam's topic in General Discussion
Same here. Fell for the offer, installed WoT, played 10 battles and got 3 days instead of the promised 7. I followed some link, that led to the old-style stand-alone installer though, so didn't download and install via gamecenter. Not really worth raising a fuss about, as far as I am concerned. Sadly, at this point I'm not even surprised any more. WG is inconsistent to incompetent when it comes to communications, to put it very politely. Edit: WoT was a thoroughly unpleasant experience, wouldn't recommend. -
Nah, I thought this might turn out a funny thread? I mean... it's only getting hotter.

1) do not commit to anything whatsoever until you know where enemy radars are. if they aren't spotted after some time, well, on most maps it's pretty obvious where they're camping. 2) learn to bait radars. 3) use F3 early and often. expect your team to be full of daft buggers who need telling what to shoot at. 4) memorize the few ships that have radar range > spotting distance. with regards to 1) these are the most important ones. 5) they're also yet another reason (if you still need more) why RPF is just as much a mandatory pick on DDs as CE I'm very, very much against dumbing down the one class in the game that still requires players to use their brains for more than just to monitor essential life functions while playing WOWS. Instead we need a lot more incentives to promote a much more active playstyle across all classes.

WG started banning people using mods from the forum (From Reddit)
tenacious_torps replied to Aragathor's topic in General Discussion
@Ossy_TK Did you ask for the full data used in that "investigation"? Since it is obvious this has to be personalized data, you're entitled to access and also to detailed information on how said data was processed for what purposes. I highly suspect that things will get quite spicy from there on in, since this is likely done by some sort of AI (more precisely: artificial neuronal network) and they might not even be able to comply technically. Btw, it is my understanding, that whatever it says in the EULA with regards to personal data (including access to your computer's drives), WG these days would be forced to continue providing services, if one were to revoke any permission given when installing the game and creating accounts. Spicy, spicy... somebody with enough time and money on their hands might consider such proceedings entertaining. I guess it's only a question of time until somebody takes WG on about this with the help of professionals. I'm not saying you're the one, Neo. -
Any poll that is done by a company for some other entity has 0 value whatsoever. Zero. Nada. Because it means the manufacture of said poll is subject to market forces, including being done by badly paid employees. Usually this leads to one of the following two scenarios: a) people are paid per conducted interview, in which case they'll just go ahead and make up as many as they can get away with or b) lower level management actively tells people to conduct one interview, but fill multiple forms in the time, because otherwise nobody is getting their bonusses, since the targets were set... highly optimistically. This is not a comment on the poll in question, since I have no idea and can't be bothered anyway.

Ramming or otherwise damaging a friendly is probably key to get this low. I'm not even convinced it is possible to get just the 1 XP, so you have to [edited]up some more to substract some.

Operation Cherry Blossom - what went wrong?
tenacious_torps replied to ajb13's topic in General Discussion
Well, if you're blessed with players on your team whose abilities include pushing the magical see everything button ever so often... Giving away free tier 8s is not and never has been a good idea. Compensation in credits would have been a lot healthier for the game. I've had runs in this operation that made me report my entire team more than once. Unbe-friggin-lievable. And I'm not talking about finer points like leaving the damn airfields in peace until there's nothing left to farm. I'm beginning to see where WG are coming from, when they say they won't touch radar because people will get confused. With some I'm glad when we reach the end of the operation and nobody died IRL, it's so obvious all their higher brain functions needed shutting down to at least ensure continued breathing. -
In hindsight and today's meta I'd probably go range and double rudder instead of concealment on Donskoi, since there are more than enough ships around usually who can do the close up radar job better anyway. Kite and burn, rhinse and repeat. On Moskow though, especially with the recent armour buff, it's reload and probably eventually legendary. Radar upgrade seems wasted on both since it got nerfed.

Wouldn't that just make identifying the questionable players on your team unnecessarily hard?

The match should NOT start unless all ships have loaded
tenacious_torps replied to valoaa's topic in General Discussion
Way too complicated. Just lock out AFK'ers from control over their ship and let a bot take over one minute into the match. No XP rewards, but full costs (and reports, of course).
