You're still missing the main point. For the stated purpose the game center is simply bloatware, as in way more complex than needed. By forcing this upon the masses a monoculture is created, which makes this a valid target for attacks. Now, do you trust WG to have competence to prevent that at all times? Again, we're talking about a company that can't even fix something as simple as a user interface and is known to generally not give a rat's furry crack about customer complaints. It may not be WG who's mining coins or using your computer for whatever shady purpose, but they're certainly doing their level best to increase the possibility somebody else might. Out of incompetence or malice is entirely irrelevant here, the result is the same.

I don't allow steam to run in the background, it's only used to validate, then straight to offline mode and I wasn't even aware twitch comes with any app, all I ever use is the site through the browser of my choice. Because 90% of that 200MB is used to push stuff on my system that I do not want there, because it's a glaringly obvious security issue. Do you really trust WG to maintain a browser? We're talking about a company, that has obviously very fishy ethics - see torture boat debate for one of the more glaringly obvious examples - and is apparently lacking the competence to even fix something as comparatively simple as the damn GUI. Why on earth would you allow such a company to run anything as a background service on your system? Of course, there's always the possibility to keep a separate OS installation just for WG products, but even that isn't quite foolproof in the day and age of microcode vulnerabilities baked right into the silicon of your CPU.

200mb for what is essentially a desktop-link and a rather simple app that checks for new updates. Alright, there's also a minimal torrent client in it, but that's already the start of the reasons to become grumpy with WG yet again. They charge hefty premiums for their premium offers, why can't they afford to run a decent download server? Anyway, all of the above is easily done with 20mb and that's being very generous about it. What do the other 180mb do then?

I'm amused that any of you expected anything else from WG. Their greed is very consistent, quite in contrary to their communications or basically everything else. So what the hell gave you the idea there would be anything actually worthwhile on sale? Especially after you've just experienced the unprecedented generosity show called summer sale?

What do you expect? You're playing a game, where people sail around under the flags of... democratically challenged nations all day long, that is made by a company who apparently has no issues with putting ships involved in the torture of civilians in their game to top it of. Did you seriously expect to enter a realm of enlightenment? Respect is no part of this game and for the most part not of its community neither. Sad, but true and I don't see how having illusions about it is going to help.

I don't get why you all apparently take this incident so lightly. Are you really fine with this sort of bullying? I'm not talking about toxic chat - it's the internet and people immediately seem to loose what little manners they had to start with anyway - but somebody going so far as to use his guns to force others to do his bidding? Nah, sorry, but if WG tolerate this sort of crap, the game's dead before the end of the year. Send in the replay to support, if you have them enabled (if not, this should be the next thing you do before starting the game again), otherwise the screenshots will have to do. This is ban-worthy and even if support decides what you got isn't sufficient evidence, the player in question will end up on their watchlist. It seems very likely that other complaints will be raised very shortly and lead to the desirable result of having one completely unpleasant person less in the game. I think somebody should look into this, no matter what. @MrConway

Stop trying to get the OPs hopes up, when the reality of the game is that most players don't give a flying fornication if they're winning or loosing, think tactics is a breathmint and don't learn even a single iota while dying their way from tier 1 to 10. Play random battles only if and when you cannot find a better way to live out your masochistic tendencies, that would be a lot more sound advice.

It's not as bad as the first days, but you still get teams nobody can carry to 5 stars. Only advice I can give is to go in with a decent div, problem solved, let the farming commence.

I'd have preferred better torp angles over more range. Or to put it another way: more ability to make a play when needed, instead of another means of dealing damage over time.

Single-launch torps are absolutely awesome. No more BB-sized gaps, unless you create them yourself. Best thing ever.

helmut kohl did a quite good guide on how to play dd with lots of radar in the match right here on this forum. recommended read, if you haven't already. I'd also recommend to watch some streams of competitive dd play, clan battles and tournaments.

From this thread I somehow get the impression that most of you simply don't want to help improve the community.

^^ Something along the lines of reports = karma + compliments given, with infinite compliments allowed. And also: fix the in-port notifications, so people actually see they got reported. Each and every time, not maybe on some occasion, if the moon is just in the right position, air pressure is favourably and somebody sacrificed a goat for the devs to bbq. Thank you very much for improving the community.

In a game where positioning is all about getting better angles than the enemies, there is simply no scenario where the lemming train is even remotely smart. You are ALWAYS better off and more useful, if you refrain from joining the team.
