Nothing. WG had taken them away whilst they try to get any useful data from an absolutely disastrous testing phase before decided what to do next. I would suggest it'll need at least another 2 maybe 3 testing phases before they were fit for purpose but I have a horrible feeling WG will just dump them into the game "as they are" sometime in September, which is the 5th Anniversary of WOWS. Why was testing disastrous - Because WG management are stupid, to be blunt. They wanted people to test these new Subs out but made it so very "negative" to do so that hardly anyone did. So things like you couldn't do daily missions in that game-mode, they had Ranked during the test so people played that instead, there was no worthwhile "reward" for playing the test mode etc - all of which meant that by testing day 5 (out of 40-ish) there was 10-12 humans per match at most out of 24 players with the rest being WG bots, which invalidated the vast majority of testing because there was very little "human vs human" testing so it was far too easy for human Submarines to run riot through the bots.

The best mode ever and I'm so gutted that WG have said they won't do it again. Originally it was different, IIRC it was WOT tanks (or turrets) on moveable islands and, at the last second WG scrapped it and left a few 3D models to look at, and if you DID look at the Sub it bricked your game and forced a reboot - LOL!

It's not a "cheat" as such, all bots have an AI version of the RPF captain skill baked into their code. WG said that this was done to prevent Co-Op games dragging on too long if the last human decided to hide rather than fight. This way the bots always knew the rough direction to sail to find the human. Again, it's a skill you can use to your advantage by forcing bots to sail towards you in a known, predictable pattern making island ambushes very effective.

New T4 German CV.

Their basic programmed targetting list is this - shoot CV's first, then DD's, then Cruisers then BB's - and they'll target which ever ship they can see as the highest priority on that list. There's slight adjustments like remaining target health, distance to bot and ship tier which can alter that list but it's pretty reliable i.e. a cruiser seeing a DD at 14km won't retarget that DD if there's a 2km away BB the bot is already shooting at, but if both enemy ships are at the same range from the bot, it will target the DD first etc. The human DD vs Bot BB interaction makes it interesting as Bot BB's won't fire AP at DD's, so they'll reload HE (taking time) as soon as they target a DD which gives you 25-30 seconds of "safe" time and the second the DD disappears they'll reload AP again, taking even more time, and they'll keep swapping every time they retarget you. So you can use that "Ammo Reload logic" to completely stop a BB firing at anyone for a few minutes, if done right, as you pop into/out of cover.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

Not me as such but I saw @T0byJug in a Daring during Flambasses latest video, where Flambass kills a ship then dies quite quickly into that game and, when he goes back to the results a few minutes later, his team were utterly wiped out 1 kill (by Flambass) to 7 enemy kills with Flambass top of the losing side by 300XP! Games like that could easy break someone's spirit -
Luckily that sort of "collapse" is still very rare. Usually it's the steam-roller is the opposite direction with the humans killing every bot within 4 minutes, with everyone getting 1 kill and being left disappointed by yet another very low XP, short duration game.

I think the downvote came from someone who might not understand how a SSD works. As you mentioned, SSD's should never be "defragmented" using the built-in windows tool, they should only have a TRIM run which is the SSD version of the HDD "defrag". This is because the individual memory locations of an SSD have a finite number of "writes", so wasting a number of writes for a "defrag" (which moves data around so that it is next to each other to help speed-up mechanical drives) shortens the lifespan of SSD's. Windows 7 & 8 were intelligent enough to know when it it has a SSD attached and would automatically run a TRIM command on those in the background without the user having to do anything. However they will still allow you to do a HDD style "defrag" on them but Win10 changed the way defrag works so now, if you click "optimise" (the new name for a defrag) on a SSD, it would only run a TRIM command rather than a defrag. Here's just a tiny selection of the "Don't defrag SSD's" articles on the web, incase people (understandably) don't want to believe some random dude on a forum https://www.electronicsweekly.com/noticeboard/general-noticeboard/why-you-shouldnt-defragment-a-solid-state-hard-drive-2011-11/ https://helpdeskgeek.com/help-desk/should-you-defrag-an-ssd/ https://datarecovery.com/rd/defragmenting-solid-state-drive-cause-data-loss/ https://www.bnmc.net/blog/don-t-defrag-your-ssd-hard-drives https://www.promax.com/blog/nvme-vs-ssd-speed-storage-mistakes-to-avoid https://www.thewindowsclub.com/defragmentation-of-ssd-windows/ https://www.howtogeek.com/165472/6-things-you-shouldnt-do-with-solid-state-drives/ https://www.zdnet.com/article/windows-10-tip-defrag-secrets-for-hard-disks-and-ssds/ https://www.diskpart.com/ssd-management/ssd-defrag-0528.html https://www.dailycamera.com/2020/01/11/dave-taylor-no-need-to-defrag-your-ssd-drives/ etc etc etc etc

Again - DO NOT SET YOUR UPLOAD TO UNLIMITED!
-
It's an odd "straw that broke the camels back" for most I understand but for me I'm 'ing livid! The Art and 3D modelling dept were the very last things holding this sinking ship of game together, and now even they've been forced to piss the customers off as well, and all because the WG management actively HATE the customers and deliberately do things ONLY to annoy us, the absolute 's.
-
It's NOT only the download speed that is the problem, it's the "Upload" speed being too high that is the problem in the vast majority of cases as WGC default sets it to "Unlimited" which is a horrible choice as, when the Upload is using 100% of your internet's Upload speed, it throttles the download speed no matter what you have it set to. if you change the upload speed to a "lower" speed like 128kb etc, or switch off Uploads completely with the tick box, your download speed will jump up to the maximum you have set -

Once this ship hits the Live server I'm guessing German Hydro ships will be the counter. I mean even if there is 120 torps fired by a triple division, at 57kts they are so slow that German Hydro picking them up at "just" 4.5km will give everyone plenty of time to get out of the way. I'm very interested in the mechanic WG will use to reduce team-kill damage from these as their post hints at a fix but doesn't give any details yet.

I've wanted the Kitakami to return for a long time as i just missed it when I started this game over 4 years ago but blimey, I wasn't expecting this! I think it should have been a "special event" ship like Halloween, Aprils Fools etc rather than a PvP ship and certainly not a T10 ship, but I suppose WG are doing what WG do best, ignoring everyone and coming up with terrible ideas which just infuriate the playerbase.

Hi All, As per the title I've done some whaling so that other people, who may decide to have a go, a fully aware of just how bad the gambling odds are at getting a ship so consider this a public gambling warning. I already have all the ships that it is possible to win in this gambling event so, for me, this was more just to see if I could get my doubloons back in Compensation and, unsurprisingly, I didn't get a single ship. I spent 30,000 doubloons (£83) and got the following - So no ships, just camos and signals so if you were tempted in any way shape or form just be fully aware that the unpublished odds of winning this gambling game and getting a ship are tiny, so be warned! EDIT - Just for the Maths fans - It would take £550 to buy enough doubloons to guarantee every ship - LOL!

As a fairly large whale it's still a hard pass from me. As LWM says (and I 100% agree with) Ships needs a Unique Selling Point, either be OP (fairly rare considering the number of premium ships) or be interesting and this ship is neither as it's USP is the very strong AA, which means absolutely sod-all since the CV-Rework destroyed AA/Plane interaction. So, thanks for a historical ship but shame it's so bland, although I'm sure I'll be getting her in a Xmas crate I suppose so she can rust away in Port.

Loot boxes to be classed as gambling in the UK...

The thing is, it would be an "easy" win for the Government, a bit of good PR at a time when they need some, but I bet they still drag their heals about it! -
WG..................SUPPORT......................GOOD? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.................................

I was baited by the thread title, I thought you were talking about the opposite "phenomenon" where the last salvo you YOU fire to kill a ship always seems to have a Citadel in it if you fire AP no matter where your shells hit, usually when the enemy has around 1k health left.

Also, just seen this - WarGaming say DO NOT USE latest Nvidia drivers if you have a Laptop - As you're having issues, whether you're using a laptop or not, I'd revert to an older set of drivers anyway. From what I've seen the most reliable driver version so far (as tested on Nvidia sub-Reddit etc) for your GTX1060 is 442.59 with all later ones have a few issues. You can get 442.59 from here - https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/158181/

Yeap, definitely a graphics issue. Probably a setting in-game for "Full Screen" but because Win10 has gone wibble it's causing issues. The only way into the game now, so that you can untick Full Screen", might be to try "Launch Game with Settings Reset" which starts the game in windowed mode and a default resolution. Click the Arrow on the right edge of the Play button and select it as shown.

Coordinated boycott of CB from EU and NA clans

The only trouble is that there are only a few really "competitive" ships, so if people took different ships for a greater rewards there's a higher chance that they would lose, so people would just stick to the same "competitive" ships no matter what because winning with a lower reward is more important than the increased risk of losing with a higher reward. -
Most cursed ship I think I've ever had...
IanH755 replied to DrMechano's topic in General Discussion
Controversial choice for me - the Mikhail Kutuzov - I played 69 PvP games in it with a 50% WR but I was massively carried by my team as my average damage was just 32k and a WOWS-Numbers PR of just 830 - Even my T3 Nassau has a better average damage at 43k over 15 games and, incase that inflated by low game numbers, my T5 Kirov has 34k average damage over 123 games! I just could not hit the side of a bloody barn from the inside with thing. I spent far too long at 19km sat in a smoke screen doing bugger all, but I bought it 4 years ago when I was still a new wallet warrior, my skills have "slightly" increased since then even just by playing Co-Op -

I'll keep saying this til it changes but I just can not understand why WG are happy with upto 22 players games being ruined just so that 2 can play World Of WarPlanes. There is NO way in the current system of balanced a ship class that was so OP in real life that a single ship class changed absolutely everything about naval combat. They have no place in a "surface fleet" based combat game but WG will never ever accept that and the game is is spoiled for many because of that.
