What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

It's not Seal Clubbing if it's against bots but damn the Clemson is a strong ship! 3/4 of the enemy team killed, 135k damage yet still only 90k credits, good job I'm credit rich already! -
Option to turn down or even tuen off the new fire & smoke effects?

Too close for the scope when I BB brawl I scrape the enemies hull paint with my own I get so close! -

You Sir, are a The annoying thing is I really like watching other people shoot, be on fire etc as it looks epic, it's just my ship I don't want any effects on, which isn't possible I don't think. -
It is now 07:35 UTC and updater is still down so the 120 minutes estimated is taking longer than expected I guess

Started the new "week 3" RN BB missions - couldn't find any BB's anywhere - took 18 missions to kill 5!!!! -

Hallelujah, finally finished the stupid 150k damage, survive and win bull RN BB mission It took 20+ matches with 80% over 100k damage so it's padded my stats wonderfully but what a pain! Plus I bumped into [SCRUB]Lup3s doing the same missions, only his "kill a DD" mission went much easier than mine, he detonated one with his first salvo Also, I absolutely CAN NOT make the Missouri work for me! Everyone keeps saying it has great guns, well my Tirpitz has better accuracy at under 12km so the RNG gods must hate me and the Missouri combo (look at my recent PvP WTR!) because even with the 11% dispersion Module and at less than 12km I still can't get shells to hit where I aim. At 8km I had a broadside Missouri to shoot at and the rear turret fired two shells infront (miss) and one shell behind (miss) and thats the bull I deal with EVERY SINGLE GAME yet my "shotgun dispersion" Tirpitz one-shots a Nelson for 50k+ health with 4 citadels at 12km and always does great damage every game! -

Which ever WG employee decided to make the 5th RN BB mission 150k damage AND Win AND Survive is a at least my Tirpitz is getting a good work out! So Close....................................... and then to top it off you have your usual group of BBaBBies who are terrified of getting the paint scratched in battle so hide and let a bloody Cruiser do all the work for them! Although fair play there is a Manly BB in the cap with the enemy so someone isn't a complete moron! -
Another example of WG acting only on the Ru Server's complaints. When IFHE and Radio Detection (RPF etc) were announced while every other server talked about RPF being the biggest threat to the game it was only the Ru server that went mental about IFHE and look what happens months later, the nerf bat come out. Exactly the same happened with stealth fire, the Ru server kicked off more loudly about it than any other server when stealth fire was combined with smoke and IFHE and 6 months later, bye bye stealth fire, bye bye IFHE and it's looking like bye bye smoke usage for non-DD's (no concealment in smoke for Cruisers or BB's in ST currently). If you ever want to see what changes (nerfs etc) WG are doing next just look at what the current Ru server rant is because that will be the next thing sorted.

Deliberate Teamkillers STILL not being stopped in-game - Why WG, WHY?
IanH755 posted a topic in General Discussion
So, a few games ago I found a deliberate Teamkiller, who sailed next to me at under 1km, with no enemies within 17km and torped me, then sailed next to a friendly BB and did the same *Edited after which he was still alive (but now pink) and only sank when the single enemy BB left killed him with secondaries! Now what's odd is that he torped me but didn't get TK (pink) immediately, infact it was only after killing his 2nd friendly ship that he went Pink. So I submitted the replay to customer service to show a deliberate TK'er going unpunished so we'll see if anything happens (spoiler - it won't) but why didn't the in-game TK punishment kick in at all????? Why was he alive after his first TK, why was he still alive after his 2nd TK etc. So now I'll watch the players stats for the next few weeks and see if he actually gets punished by WG for being a deliberate TK'er, or if WG fail to do anything (as I suspect) but until then be careful, they're out there deliberate TK'ing without any WG effort to stop them!! PS If you watch the replay be careful as there's a guy called "kingofmetals" which is NOT the guy in the replay, despite a very similar name. I almost reported the wrong guy until I double checked the name! ***EDIT*** - I think the TK system may be broke!!!! I've just watched a Tirpitz put 4 torps into a friendly Bismarck with NO reflected damage done, no pink, no death etc just the pink text in chat only! WG, something is BROKE! -

Blue_Bug - Thanks for the info, sounds plausible but I know from previous painful experiences it doesn't always work like that i.e. Attempted TK knocked off 90+% of my health within the 1st minute, I shot back with HE and, after a single salvo set a fire, I went pink immediately and then died. In port it said I had a 10 match Pink, where as he got nothing. -

There's definitely something strange going on with the "automatic TK punishment" situation - I just watched a video on Reddit of a DD being sank by friendly torps and again, no reflected damage, no pink, no TK'er death etc just a pink chat message despite TK'ing FFS!!!!! @Tuccy - Is this something you can ask about with the dev's, because something just isn't right right now with the whole TK system not working as advertised! -

I think division mates work differently. An old exploit (shown by Notser IIRC) before the captain skill changes was to spec a Shima captain with what is now called AR (back then was a 5 point skill and uber godlike for torp boats), get a division mate to knock you down to 10% health for <80 second torp reloads rather than 100+ and there was never any damage done to the division mate. -
At least with the bot you don't get written in Chat "OMG Noob, why didn't you get out of the way, LTP Moron!" when a 10km away cruiser "accidentally" torps you in the middle of a BB on BB brawl, especially if you've damage con'd and they cause a flood! Because that exact thing happened to me yesterday from a "50 Co-Op game with <900 WTR" player in his T5 Furrytaco as I brawled in my Colorado and he torped me twice - yeap, 2 separate times about 30 secs apart as he swung both sets of torps on his ship around. Apparently that was My Fault!

Tried my first "Operation" and used my "go to" T6 ship the Molotov which, to be blunt, struggles heavily in the BB-heavy meta so it was nice to see it can dish out some pain in a cruiser heavy battle! Plus some seriously fun BB Brawling - around 300 secondary hits etc -
The ship is very good, despite having very RNG guns in my experience, stealthy, fast but not very agile, god-tier AA with good secondaries and, since the Citadel lowering, it's able to tank more now. It prints credits even in a loss (or in co-op) but T9+ gameplay can be absolute garbage so if you're already a T9+ player and like spending 10 minutes 20km sniping followed by a mad yolo rush as your team gets wiped out after only killing 2 ships then yeah, go get her! Credits - With the new economy flags I've made 1 million credits on a loss! (880k-ish after "tax" IIRC)

The definitive proof that BBs are NOT hard capped at 5 per team

Carrying on from my General_Stupid story above, this is what happens if you play the C Cap position on Islands of Ice correctly - but even when you do it doesn't help if your team is fully Potato! When I died (with 5 kills - only 1 of which was a low health kill) I was the only person on my team to sink an enemy ship so far, 7 humans couldn't kill 1 single Bot, and we only won by the skin of our teeth when a <800 WTR (in Co-Op!!!!!!!) player was accidentally rammed by the last bot! Plus Some Belfast Action - yeah, it's not PTW at all and the rewards, even in Co-Op are very nice - -

Derping about in my pair of "Brawler Build" KM BB's nicknamed "The Gruesome Twosome" - Derpitz - Swinehorse - and a great PTS game in the Myoko - Plus I had an chat with a person I'll call General_Tom (not his real name) who has spent the XP gained in his 1000+ co-op Atlanta games to free XP the USN BB line all the way to the Montana. During a game on the Islands of Ice map his Montana spawned in the middle and he told me (Missouri) that unless I followed him north to A we would lose the game. Having played this map vs bots hundreds of times I chose to sail to the big island just north of C instead to shoot at all the broadside cruisers at around 13km range. Mr_Tom could not handle this sort of tactical awareness and spent the next 10 minutes calling me some very unpleasant names while I sank ship after ship in 1 shots before being torped after 3 kills. Moron_Tom then told me that his 43k damage meant more than my 93k+ damage and 3 kills because he was still alive and, if I asked nicely he would teach me his "skills" as he had a 1550 WTR in Co-Op and because that was purple it meant he "was an expert at the game". I wish I had replays enabled to get screenshots because not bursting out laughing in his face is possibly my greatest gaming achievement ever! -
Random Games - Tried again after 3 months away but it still isn't "Fun" for me.
IanH755 replied to IanH755's topic in General Discussion
Winning in PvP is fun, because it's so hard to get a win, but in PvE a win is virtually guaranteed so the "fun" isn't from winning at all (thats a very PvP attitude). Instead the fun is from things like setting yourself targets like, sink 4 ships (1/2 the bots) or more, or get 150k+ damage etc. Or you can just go and have "fun" because everyone ends up within 10km of each other, brawling each other to bits, which is how most Co-Op games are due to the Bots "CHARRRRGE" programming. You should try it, jump in your favourite ship and just charge straight in, no PvP long range tactics just dive straight into a bunch of bots, dodging torps, smashing citadels with secondaries going off everywhere, it's awesome. However once you recognise the bots patterns after a few hundred games it's starts to get a bit bland (hence this post). PS, as a 40 year old ex-military bloke, FIFA just isn't for me Here's some of the fun I had last night/today - 4 Kills within 30 seconds in a Scharn, 2 from torps, 1 guns and a ram - awesome fun! Or doing 170k damage against only 8 ships (not 12 like PvP) Plus, with the new "special flags" the rewards are pretty good (from above Missouri game) - 10K Captain XP etc! -

Hi all, After playing 1300+ PvP games in 6 months I got burned out by the German BB meta which, for me as a cruiser player, wrecked the game, so for pretty much the past year I've played 99% co-op and it's been really, really fun. However I was starting to get a little bored of the same stuff everyday, so for a change I dropped my 19pt Missouri back into Random just to farm a little Captain XP from the first win and just to see if PvP had changed since I'd been away. 5 Games later and the PvP gameplay is still, to me, soul crushingly boring and completely un-"Fun". 5 games and 5 loses where I did everything from poor (35k damage) to quite well (180k+ damage) but in every.........single........game it was a landslide victory for the enemy with 2-3 friendly ships facing 8-10 enemies - EVERY GAME! The Bow On meta is still boring, the edge camping is still boring, the "everyone stay back at max range until someone gets bored and charges, losing the game for that team" is boring, the landslide loses are boring, the toxic chat during a loss is boring etc. I remember when this game was fun, when most matches (50%+) went down to the last 5 ships per side leading to exciting finish where people who were dead actually stayed to watch, when ships brawled and the chat was helpful not rude. So I ask you folks on the forum, what can WG do (if anything) to change the stale boring gameplay which virtually no-one seems to like or enjoy? Or do WG even need to do anything, seen as PvP still remains so popular? PS Here's my crap record for the day - Landslides everywhere! My History, 5 games, 5 poor loses. Loses still make credits though! -
For the average 4-5BB per side matches ditch IFHE, ignore the DD hunting with radar (at least until the end of a match) and instead play it as a "long range module fitted" HE spammer for the first 10 minutes or so until the BB's are down to 1-2. You'll have to accept that RNG/Dispersion means that your 19km salvos will hit 2-3 shells out of 12 most of the time, but you'll be using the increased fire chance to create damage instead. While IFHE is great at shorter ranges (<13km) where you can aim more accurately, at longer ranges the dispersion and lack of fire will kill your damage output. I'd also do the same as the Flamu/Aerroon YT video and equip steering Mod 3 to kite all the return fire you "will" be getting in return.

Fun game in the Kutuzov, all I was interested in was fire damage for Stage 3 of the weekly mission, never noticed the Kill count until the end! Clemson Kraken with some seriously epic "friendly torp" dodging after a Danae and Svetlana decided all DD's must DIE, even their own! Okhotnik is always fun when you're in the mood! -
I'm having fun imagining playing the mission as a single player only mission in the Flint! Def AA, Smoke and lots of fast reload DD guns - Yes please!
