  1. I believe it was the WGEU team which complained that Ranked was giving people too many flags, which is why they nerfed the rewards for the last few seasons. This was because WGEU believe having a large number of combat flags is bad for gameplay for those who haven't yet earned them, yet they'll happily sell Bundles in the shop, making their own comment about "too many flags is bad" sound a bit stupid. I think that "too many flags" mentality is what is stopping WGEU from selling single flag bundles, despite it making them more money, which a very odd business decision.

De-stressing from the new T8 Halloween mode on the PTS which, when it goes live, will cause raging like you've never known as it requires something called "teamwork", something WG are removed from the game, leaving only "I do what I want and screw the rest of you" players! Anyway, had a blast in my Derpitz - and my Kutuzov - before nearly rage quitting co-op because a player "Torry............" (rest of name left blank, there a few of them so it's not name/shame) in his shiny new Tirpitz hid behind an island frantically asking for help against a 1/2 health LEANDER whilst I brawled a Scharn, Tirpitz & Algerie in my Scharn before dying (sank all 3) and then Caps Lock shouted me in chat for not helping him when the T6 paper thin cruiser sank him with tops and secondary fires, the !!!!!!!!!!!!

    Halloween Event

    OK, now I'm getting sick of this and it's going to be bloody when it goes live! Why??? Because it requires teamwork, a concept WG have removed from the normal gameplay, so when this goes live with all the Randoms joining it it'll be a nightmare! Already on the PTS, a place where people really should know better, the event is filled with people all doing their own thing and losing badly. I've now got 3 wins from 16 games, that's gameplay and should that stay as bad (or get worse) when this hits Live I can see lots of people playing once and then ditching it rapidly.

    Halloween Event

    9 games before I finally got a win (got two 4* wins now). Anyway, it's a great mode but I feel it's just a bit too "manic" right now, you literally don't have a single second to think, plan or communicate to team mates once the game kicks off, you're just reacting to the 10+ ships which are spawning right next to you (3x CA's and 2x BB's did that to me). Now while the "arcadey" nature of the mode is supposed to be fun it's just a little to hectic at the moment for my tastes. One issue with the DD, there's a consumable which prevents "main gun" damage but you still get shredded by the Bot BB secondaries if you play like you're supposed to with your 6km torps/guns. Once you get closer you die fairly quickly, especially once the bots start spawning all over the map rather than fro inside the Filth/Taint.
  5. Had an interesting game on the PTS in the new T8 Halloween mode, Finally got a win after 9 games, check the secondary hits although it helps that the secondaries have almost the same range as the main guns (8km) in this mode - Also, my first game - is that a new damage record???

    It used to be a "repair" cost but, since the economy change, it's better to think of it as an "entry cost" for allowing you to play instead.

    The orginal T3 version is quite simple, now we know how to play it but the new T8 version is bloody hard, very..............bloody.............hard!
  8. Haven't played on my account in about 2 weeks due to poor internet and the PTS so it's always nice to return with a blast - Love my LOLanta Got into an epic brawl with 4 BB's on Neighbours with my Berserker spec Scharnhorst and it's still the best DD in the game, 11 torp hits
  9. Having fun on the PTS - Nice damage total for a co-op game with only 8 targets! plus a MegaZAO game (aka Conqueror) - Just look at the damage caused to a broadside Neptune at 7km with HE! Look at all the damaged/destroyed modules etc from just 7 hits!

    Or the old Shima torpedo with a range of 20km but a "minimum arming distance" of 12km so anyone closer than 12km is safe, the torp stays deep and won't be armed or seen but then at 12km to 20km it "pops up" from deep water and becomes a live Torp. Like Gun Ammo you can change the type of torp fired (normal or long range) as you sail so you are not limited in battle to only 1 type of torp.

A huge KM BB brawl in my Scharn against the Bot Scharn, a Bismarck and 2 Graf Spee's whilst the "1000+ games played" Kutuzov on my team stayed at 15km+ range in smoke whilst shouting in chat about how "I wasn't listening to his tips on how to play against bots and I would die soon!" The team scoreboard was me top with 650+ XP (great for co-op) and him bottom with 130-ish XP - Some People So to repay the favour I played in my Kutuzov and did pretty well. I faced a "crazy even for bots" mass charge by the bots (2x Leander & a Yorck) who each took a single torp from my single 5 torp spread whilst a Derpitz took another couple from the other side whilst being kept on fire constantly. and finally an "odd" Edinburgh game where I didn't "feel" like I'd done much TBH, until I looked at the damage, shell hits and T8 planes shot down and realised a "good" game had sneaked in

    Sell surplus of Oil.

    You have to be in a clan if you want cheaper T5-6 ships and 3% savings on battle costs, earned by collecting Oil. If you are a solo player you get nothing. I think that is the "discrimination" he is referring to. My preference is solo play, due to poor/intermittent internet connection, lack of my availability to play (go weeks without playing due to work), not wanting to play competitively, a few Clan attitudes, mainly playing co-op now etc so playing solo is a choice I'm happy with but WG have decided that, as a solo player, I do not earn the right to earn a "discount". Now this has obviously been worked around with "oil only" clans appearing which is very good to see (although I don't know who these clans are) but I wonder what will happen when the "discounts" (or rewards) start getting bigger/better, because the only way to access them currently is for someone to spend real money on doubloons to open a clan, making this a "pay money to get better stuff" situation where, if the rewards get big enough, I can see clans asking for "gifts" of doubloons from new members, making Clans Pay to Join (i.e. 250 doubloon to join a big clan is better/cheaper than 2500 to start your own etc) and with "Clan Only" rewards I really do see the game heading that way!
  13. @Aragathor - If you get what I consider to be a "good" game however the XP/FreeXP/CaptainXP can be quite large for co-op! so those bonuses, especially the 1st win one really help out!
  14. All the "Special" Flags + economy Flags + Victory Salute Camo + 200% first win + Premium. My average base XP is only 500-ish in co-op so you can see how everything else adds up quickly with the list above. Also my captain XP is around 7000-14000xp per game so I've just hit my 3rd 19 pointer with another 2-3 on 17 just looking for all that Elite XP to use. Here's a below average "meh" game for me in the Blywska - 391 Base XP, 3rd in the team, not really happy with it TBH, should have played much better - but once all the extras are added it's still a nice score -
  15. Had some fun in my P2W fleet Now this game was nothing special damage/score wise but holy hell that AA kill number! I was busy on "anti-ship" duty and just popped my Def AA when ever I remembered but thats 58 out of 72 T7 planes (Hiryu capacity) that I didn't even notice I'd downed until the last close ship died, giving me time to check the scores!
  16. Met @Torb0b in a co-op game on the North map which had 3 low IQ mouth-breathers in German BB's who very nearly lost the game for us! A Tirpitz and FdG went to D (never go D on North) and were out of the game for 90% of it and the last Tirpitz was too busy trying to kill me with torps fired from 4km behind me at a bot FdG 8km+ away from him. After getting 3 kills I'd had enough of the attempted TK'ing which stopped me avoiding the FdG so I just ended up ramming it just to get out of the game and away from people with an IQ lower than their show size!

    Ocean Map

    I loved the map when I first started playing 15+ months ago because it was a high skill map with no island cover to conceal bad positional play, no "detected" warning unless you spent a captain skill point so you never knew if you were seen by the enemy and no cruiser smoke should you need to escape in a hurry meaning you really had to play smart. I remember my first Atlanta game about a year ago and the first map I played with 11.1km range was Ocean yet I could still do well more times than not. However back then 2-3 BB's, 1-3 DD's and 6+ cruisers per match was normal, so as a cruiser player you could use smart positioning/concealment range/stealth fire etc to ensure you were safer against the BB's. Now with 5+ BB's, 5+ DD's, 1-2 cruisers per match and no way of hiding from all 5 BB's once you fire a single shot, it's a nightmare!

I remember her before the global Turret Armour buff a year+ ago, if you finished a game with more than 3 turrets left you were doing it wrong It's definitely a hell of a lot more powerful now than it was originally, what with IFHE, Radar and Turret Armour etc so I think, based on how it is today, it's in a good place. It's still situational to be fair and "bad" maps can really screw you over but thats the chance you take when you buy a Super DD.
  19. Slightly above average. I'm a Cruiser player who virtually stopped PvP after the KM BB line was released. I love getting within 5-10km and brawling the living crap out of my ship (even the Atlanta as shown above) which just isn't possible in most PvP games now due to the "everyone sit at max range until someone gets bored, yolo's in, dies and leads to a roll-over" meta that exists now, so I get my fun from brawling someone who is just as aggressive as me and, sadly, thats the AI. My PvP stats BTW, I still pop in occasionally (Missouri) but don't enjoy the gameplay and don't do that well accordingly. Just to boast a little, in PvE I'm in the top 25 EU players based on WTR so I'd like to think the results I post aren't typical of most PvE players, hence why I think they're great achievements, such as this one a few minutes ago.

  21. A nice high damage game in my berserker build Scharnhorst, which proved to be the best DD in the game in a 3 BB & 5 DD Co-Op match. I kept torping and keeping fires on the 3 BB's while my secondaries chewed up the DD's! Then the strangest Co-Op game I've played in a while! I did really well and hwas lucky enough to have all 3 DD's come straight at me for 3 easy kills, although TBH I kind of expect that against bots - but just how badly the rest of the human players did when a BOT comes second in the team with 2x the XP of the next human (who reached rank 12) and even the Hood on the BOT team did better, if you add the 50% extra for a win that Hood would have nearly 300XP!
  22. The Derpitz can be so much fun when it's played as it should be, under 10km Brawler with secondaries and torps flying everywhere! Then a good match in the Best DD, the Atlanta - Torped a Yorck from behind an island (got a detonation on 1st torp to hit), burnt a Bayern down, burnt & torped another Bayern then saved an ally by ambushing the Atlanta chasing him with an AP broadside for 8 citadels, all the while my AA was clearing the skies allowing the BB's push (as best they could). Took on a Kutuzov and Yamato virtually single handed so low ship kills but high damage with 6-8k HE salvos on the Yamato every 8 seconds moving my point of aim around to get maximum damage all over the ship inc 4 fires before my torps finished him.

Hi all, I've had this a few times since the new patch dropped, basically when you get into brawling range (under 3km) if your ship is on fire then the new smoke & fire effects block your vision whilst in 3rd person mode, just like the crappy ARP fire/smoke effects did way back 2 years ago and people complained about the same thing then (glad to see WG still don't listen). Is there anyway to switch off or reduce the thick black smoke effect when you're on fire?

Indycar/MTM - *Edited Someone asks for help yet, because the OP wasn't worded in a way which you like, you decide to give me crap about it. *Edited Here is my settings (which I've changed with no difference to JUST the smoke) - and this is the effect I get with the black smoke obscuring the target, although this was done in the training room at 3km but I usually pass by at 0.5km which is much worse.
