  1. Yeah, thats why WG wouldn't do it, I didn't even think about devious (still not sure thats the right word) people doing stuff like that. Ah well, guess I'll have to keep all my spare captains doing sod all but wasting space for now then! I've got about 5-6 but the point was more based upon - I have X useless captain that I want to get rid of, wouldn't it be nice if I could get something back if I did - only it turns out that people would game the system so much that WG would never even consider it.
  2. [Co-Op] - My highest ever damage game! I fired only fired 8 salvos during the whole game and got some stunning RNG from the last 4 salvos in the ship which trolls me the hardest! After firing 4 fairly Meh long range salvos at the start against the FdG and Mogami I managed, using island positioning, to fire 2 salvos at the Missouri and 2 at the Musashi (both broadside at 11km) and got 11 citadels with some very tight groupings before ramming an almost full health Montana to death. And another good Giulio Cesear game - For a T5 BB it's seems to be perfect, the shells rarely overpen, it's very manoeuvrable, quick and has some decent armour.
  3. Good points, I hadn't thought about people being dishonest (not sure thats the right word TBF) enough to "game" the system like that. Although the -25% (or even -50%) penalty would help stop that I think that, due to the nature of people trying to "game" the system, while it's a nice Idea WG probably won't go for it. However it's interesting to see how many posters think it's a bad idea, I'd have thought virtually everyone would have liked some Elite XP, obviously not! One point - the Player has earned the XP, the captain doesn't select battle and sail itself, so the players earns it but the Captain gets awarded it - a subtle difference.
  4. Hi all, I've around 2500 Co-Op games played and I don't think I've ever seen so many T9-T10 ships in the queue over the past few weeks. I played a game earlier with seven T10 ships and a T9 CV which, to me, is unheard of, I mean there was always a few T9-T10 ships in the queue but they were pretty rare to see. So is there some random mission/campaign etc currently on causing this spike or do we think the old "Co-Op Meta" (mainly T8 as highest tier as T9-T10 loses too much money) has changed permanently and we'll now see much more T9-T10 action in Co-Op? If it is a Meta change what do you think has caused it, better economy due to signals/camos meaning less money lost, more Co-Op players reaching T9-T10 and wanting to try it etc? As an owner of five T10's it'd be good to see more being played at these high tiers as having 5-6 bots on your side is a nightmare for short "ramming only" low fun level games but it makes T8 MM (which used to be awesome) very difficult now as there's a very high chance that, instead of being top tier for 9/10 games you'll now find yourself bottom tier in 3-4/10 games which will take a bit of getting used to but the extra XP is nice. Has anyone else noticed this change or has it always been like this and I've just been avoiding it somehow?
  5. Which would explain the steady level of ships at T9-T10 that we had before but there seems to be a very noticeable increase which doesn't seem like the "usual" level of people retaining, modules etc when you consider the loss of credits in most T9-T10 games. I don't know but if you were pink why would you play money losing T9-T10 games? Wouldn't you drop to T5-8 where you still make a little money? At least thats what I'd have thought.
  6. @RAHJAILARI - Thanks for the info!
  7. Some Co-Op fun! Had an "average" game in the Atlanta yet got a stupidly large amount of Base XP for doing nothing really spectacular??? Also, BB AP vs DD is totally fine OK, TOTALLY FINE!!!!!
  8. Had some weird "Personal missions" pop-up to win the T5-6-7 French BB's - Already did those missions over a month ago and then some other "odd" missions turned up (not personal ones) which all disappeared after about 30 mins?

What has happend to the Missouri?

L2P means you are doing something wrong and need to learn "how" to play the game. RNG however is server side and as such there is no way you can learn "how" to play it. At best you just have to accept that RNG can and does negate virtually any attempt at skillful play, making the game seem more based on gambling than a serious attempt at a skill-based game like, for example, CS:GO etc. Still "fun" to play once you remember that RNG is unbiased, so for every missed perfectly aimed broadside there will be a badly aimed salvo with a single wide shell which citadels the enemy!

What has happend to the Missouri?

More like "Learn to Love RNG" issue! If you catch a broadside side ship in an ambush at 10km, aim at the correct point along the waterline and then watch 7 out 9 BB shells fly high/low/wide missing the target and only 2 shells hit, one for an overpen and one into a turret for zero damage, thats not a "L2P" issue, thats RNG proving why the game will never be an E-Sport!

    Monaghan get T8 torpedoes

Thanks you for saving my eyesight! Which ever WG person decided that a dark theme with dark text was a good idea needs their head checking!
  12. Hi all, Have you ever finished a battle and looked at the Team score page and wondered "How did that person get such a high XP?" etc? Wouldn't it be nice to be able to see other peoples "Detailed" damage screen (only that screen) so that you can see what they did to do so well? Maybe it would help people learn the game more if they could what others were doing to earn high XP or maybe it's just people like to be nosy etc but I think it'd be a good idea to add this to the Team Score page where you click the persons name (same as giving them Karma feedback) and one of the options is to see their Detailed damage screen. It works well in WoT from what I've seen there on Jingle replays etc. What do you folks think, good, bad, Meh?
  13. @LiKwId - That's the sort of info I'd be after, not so much "How much damage" but more like how much spotting, how much potential damage, how many caps etc with the XP break-down for each so you can see "why" someone with, for example, no kills, got so much XP (because they tanked lots or spotted lots etc). @Mandalorianer - I don't see much "stat shaming" whilst in-game or the Port, it tends to be done on forums in my experience rather than via messages in port.
  14. Hi all, I've been playing quite a lot of scenarios/operations recently and, for the most part, these tend to come down to a DPM-fest where speedy, fast firing Cruisers rule as you fight fleets of other Cruisers and DD's who spawn all over the place. Yet it seems that Battleships, with their slow speed (unable to react to spawning ships), low DPM against bow on ships (most bots), low AA (lots of CV's) and slow reload are at a big disadvantage in the current style of missions as they struggle to top the leaderboard in any of the 40+ scenarios I played recently (most are 1/2 way at best) which can't be much fun for those players. Despite these fairly large limitations, BB's still seem to be quite heavily played in most of the games with usually 2-3 per scenario (1/3 of the team) so, in the future, I was wondering whether a "Jutland" style BB operation on a map like Ocean might be a way forward to make a few of these scenarios more enjoyable for BB players, where BB vs BB combat is at the fore-front of the scenarios design? PS Also had my first Zero star win in the Newport mission, because people are unable to look at a map, shoot and breathe all at the same time!

    World of Spacecraft ?

Which gives you NO information about the game mode, just the rewards Do people even read my post or just reply without thinking? How do people not understand that the term "In-Game" means "IN-BLOODY-GAME", not "well click a link and then visit a website" etc. I tell you what, I genuinely can't be bothered to reply to anyone else about this again, people are clearly too simple to understand two English words and it's getting annoying trying to reduce my IQ to their level.
  16. Sadly that doesn't tend to be the case for most potatoes. I have never seen such an incorrect post before in my life, please let me know who your dealer is because your smoking some seriously hardcore stuff to believe that

    World of Spacecraft ?

You know that 60 second wait you get before the start of a match where you can read the Mission etc - Mine, both times I played, was 5 seconds then immediately into the game, so there was no opportunity to read the notes and understand them sadly.

    World of Spacecraft ?

I shouldn't have to exit the game, load up the website, search through their pages until I find "patch notes" and then watch a bloody Youtube video just to read up on how a mode works, it should be in-game and simple to read/understand.
  19. I agree about CL's over CA's all day long but I guess we just have different opinions of BB play in scenarios. In a BB I like to get "stuck in" at 8-10km range and maintain that distance so that all the Bot HE cruisers are shooting at me (repairable damage) instead of at my cruisers and I'm still able to dodge torps from DD's. This means I'm tanking for my team and I find playing "passively" (staying at 14km+ away) means I can't tank for my team (bots shoot at my Cruisers instead) and my dispersion is worse, all of which I don't personally find that fun.

    World of Spacecraft ?

Just played the new SPace Mode - What a Load of Garbage - It suffers from the same crap problems that most WG stuff does - NO EXPLANATIONS - WTF is "Psyc disruption, WTF is that Volcano's prupose, why can't I spot someone who is within my spotting range if they're inside that grey moving circle, WTF is that grey circle, what does it do why is it there, why have I got blue flame crap along the sides of my screeen, why can't I use a heal (red cross through it) etc Just bloody once WG get a bloody grip and TELL PEOPLE WHAT TO DO IN A NEW MODE NEVER PLAYED BEFORE YOU WAZZOCKS!!!!! Anyway, removed all the space garbage from the carousel now, never touching it again! BRING BACK BATH-TUB MODE!!!!!!!!!!
  21. @_ramrus_ - The trouble is that, while You obviously know how to play BB's to their best in Ops and do extremely well, the vast majority of BB's captains (I'd say over 90%) don't know how to make the most of their ships and play the Ops as they would a Random game, sitting too far back, being too static and not getting "stuck in" to a fight etc. Even the ones that have played the Op before (and told me so in chat) still make the same fairly basic positioning errors which leave them unable to adequately influence the game as much as a BB should do. It happens to a lesser extent with Cruiser/DD captains too but I would think that anyone playing the same Op time and time again would, just by osmosis, get better at it yet time and time again I'm proven wrong
  22. Co-Op chat - Two Brothers is awful in Co-Op unless you are in an extremely fast ship for the reasons mentioned above. Lower Tier map Solomon Islands looks to be a "similar" map yet it doesn't suffer from a "similar" issue as 90% of the bots will go down/up middle (B Cap) which allows BB's to at least get some shots in. However this leads into another issue where, at lower tiers (say upto T5-6 when Hydro is available) especially, well played DD's can wreak havoc on Bot teams, reducing the fun for the rest of the human team who only get 2-3 ships to kill while the single DD mops up the rest.
  23. I found that Bot logic decides to shoot at cruisers first (if no DD/CV around) before they'll shoot at a BB, even if the BB is closer (say 2km closer) until the BB gets so close to the Bot (vs the human cruiser) that it is forced to change targets, yet very few BB's get so close to a cruiser for fear of torps etc so it's difficult to get BB's to "tank" most of the time, as can be seen by the large health pools most BB's have at the end of the Ops vs any Cruisers left alive. As to BB's that work, well New Mexico, Fuso, QE2 and Bayern are unsuited as all have pretty poor RNG based (aka shotgun) accuracy at the 10km+ ranges most (not all) human BB captains will play at (and some even use HE!) but I've not seen how the Normandie does to give an opinion. @havaduck- "current" operations, not the T7 Op with the best "per tier" ship in the game aka the Scharnhorst
  24. 7 in both Random, which I don't think is that amazing TBH, and also Co-Op, which I think is much harder due to only 8 bots being available to sink and how easy they are for a team to kill before you can get them all.
  25. Hi All, As I liked reading funny/heart-rending stories in the previous topic on "Killer Whale" I thought I'd start one for Raptor Rescue with my own story - Despite doing a fantastic job in the T6 Premium Molotov (check those Citadels out baby!), which was mainly due to so many broadside IJN cruisers, and carrying my team so hard my back still aches, we lost out on a 5 star win by 1 second as our Leander, which stuck next to the Raptor through-out the game, despite being told to speed up at least 3-4 times AND SAYING WILCO, decided too late to try and accelerate past the Raptor in the last 1km-ish and failed, allowing the Raptor to cross into the exit zone barely 1 second before him. 2nd game - I did absolute garbage, I got torped by the very 1st DD (idiot Ian), friendly torped by 2 different friendly ships (no damage but very distracting) and got 15K and 1 kill - Still came 5th in a complete loss -what a bloody team!!!!! 3rd game - did "OK" in a Buddy, waiting for my Molotov to come off cool down. 4th game - Molotov's Back BABY!!! A very good team performance and I didn't feel like I'd had to carry this one, despite hitting a better XP than the 1st game, really enjoyed this game. The mission felt extremely easy compared to Killer Whale (which means I'll be playing more of it) which I think was mainly due to the lack of bot DD's I'd guess (only 4-6? in the whole mission) and the general lack of enemy ships to sink (ran out of Bots by the end a few times) so I think this could do with a slight tweak with the "last" attack (2x BB and 2x Cruiser) having another 2-3 T4-6 cruisers added.
