    COOP

I remember lots of posts complaining that a single part of the Bots new behaviour (they ran away) meant that game were less enjoyable but I don't remember any threads complaining about the rest of the bots new behaviour, like changing direction/speed, DD's actually using smoke etc, which were all fairly well received on the EU side I thought but I didn't realise that the NA forums had a much bigger out-cry against the bot update.
  2. As someone with zero steel already and no chance, after the end of the snowflake/steel-campaigns, to earn anymore via CW (I don't play CW), do we think there will be much benefit from keeping the steel earned, rather than converting it to Coal, just incase another Steel campaign/event happens? I'm guessing the amount of steel earned would be so low that you couldn't earn a ship (the Flint is the cheapest) just from these Xmas events and would need to play CW to "top-up" any steel earned.
  3. But Co-Op is 98%+ guaranteed a win, regardless of how you play, which is why you can go completely and utterly nuts and still win and, for me personally, that ability to "go nuts" is what Co-Op is for, as you won't do those crazy things (which would negatively effect your team) in a PvP situation. So I don't "play to win" as such because it's virtually guaranteed, instead I play to do the crazy stuff However I realise everyone plays their own game. Thats my personal favourite part of WoWS, getting into a 2-3 ship mega-brawl
  4. You're playing it "wrong" - It's not a PvP mode and winning doesn't matter - all that matters is having fun by playing exactly how YOU want to play regardless of others. Whether that means brawling against 2-3 ships with secondaries flying everywhere or just practising in your CV, the idea of Co-Op is just to relax and have a blast and forget about WR's and team-mates etc.

    Newport scenario after changes

A well played DD can massively help the team with smoke for cover, spotting and acting as a magnet for the bots, giving all you allies broadside shots at the bots. A badly played DD is a waste to the team and can easily cost the team stars or even a win. In my 150+ Op games I've seen the vast majority of DD's being badly played and probably less than 10% being well played.
  6. Ah another Co-Op convert Isn't the game so much more fun when you can play like you did, I love a good brawl in my Derpitz!!!

    Newport scenario after changes

True, and that is the random part, where WG throw 7 strangers in a battle without worrying about the skill levels on those 7. I datamined a bunch of Scenario loses I had a while back and made a post of my findings and found that, in games with 4 or more players with less than 45% WR you were virtually guaranteed to lose regardless of the the rest of the team, while if you had just three 50%+ players and less than three 45%players on the same team you were almost guaranteed a 4-5 star win. This is down to the simple fact that "good" players can only carry so much and 4 or more "bad" players just can't be carried. Of course there were a few outliers but that breakdown was true for 95+% of my loses.

    Newport scenario after changes

Same here too, with the added bonus that these ops can take the whole 20 mins yet still "reward" you with very low XP compared to the time spent unless you get a 4-5 star win, which is getting harder to get everyday! I find that Co-Op can be more rewarding as it's a consistent amount earned for the time spent in-game where I'm currently getting at least 3k-4k XP per 5-6 min match.

    Suggestions for OP Hermes

The issue is that the multiple DD's and Cruisers targeting you can all pen your armour with HE regardless of which Cruiser you choose, so when you have 4x DD's all shooting at you (8-16 shells every 4secs is like an Atlanta shooting you) your health pool takes a bit hit and that happens twice after you leave the heal point until the finish and doesn't include all the cruiser fire too. I've now got all 3 French BB's allowed in the OP so I might try those next-time alongside the Boise.
  10. Haida is Middle of the pack, average, OK, not good but not bad, 7th out of 14 DD's in Win Rate, Damage etc - that is the EU server stats so while you or others may think it's "great" for everyone, the stats show otherwise. Stats aside, I do like the ship, I'm not saying that "it's bad" which is why it needs a buff at all, I'm asking why the exact same torps on one ship reload in 60 seconds yet on another they're 90 seconds and, for the fairly small buff it provides (seen as it's mainly a gunboat and the T8 ship hasn't seen a big increase in performance), couldn't the Haida also get the 60 sec reload?
  11. Yeap it was one of things I found better and I was quite surprised top see just how good the arcs were the first time I used it.
  12. I genuinely don't know if you're being deliberately untruthful or just horrifically mistaken but the evidence which shows you the truth is posted as a JPG in the OP - They are the same torps as the Cossack (Mk IXM Torps) but have less range, more detection and a longer reload making them much worse than the identical ones fitted to the Cossack, which is why I was asking about a reload buff, with the worse range and worse detection remaining for balance. And it still is a gun boat, just with slightly faster reloading torps - Sorry but have you actually read the OP as it looks like you haven't to me and you're ranting about some very odd things.
  13. 1. Who WG have absolutely no responsibility for, so the minority who can't be trusted to be adults cause the happy majority to "lose" the option as the choice is artificially removed from people. 2. I'd be happy with that but I don't think WG's accountants would be As a separate comment (not aimed at ForlornSailor), these xmas boxes and the monthly crates WG have been around for 3 years now without much complaint yet suddenly the "trendy social media" complaint this year is Loot Boxes. As an adult it would be nice to be able to choose whether to buy something or not without feeling put down by people hand-wringing about something that 6 months ago they didn't care about and, in 6 months time, will all be forgotten due to the next social media outcry.
  14. Ah, not reading the OP again, thanks for posting! You're only looking at Win Rate - Look at all the others like damage, frags, XP earned etc thats where Cossack comes in the Middle.

Boost your RNG in XMAS Boxes with this trick

The memories are so short for some This was the infamous "play the Flamu opening Xmas crates video from 2016 in the background while opening your own Xmas crates and you get better RNG" spoof video from Xmas 2016 which flooded the forums, Reddit etc for a whole month - It was worse than the "Poi" invasion of 2015!!!!!!
  16. However, as usual on this forum, it's rapidly gone away from the OP which was "Can the Haida get the Torp reload speed of the Cossack which uses the same torps?" and instead, again as usual, descended into "I can/can't play the ship well so yes/no" or talk about the guns which, (god I;'m getting bored of saying this) was again not part of the OP and was in fact expressly mentioned as "not talking about turrets" in the OP. We're not talking about the balance between the two ships but the balance of each individual ship in it's own separate tier. Both ships are middle table in their tier, yet one has just had a torp buff and the other hasn't and I'm asking that, if both are performing similar in their own tier, should BOTH have got the torp reload buff rather than just the Cossack? So again, not comparing the two ships to each other, but to the other DD's in their Tier.
  17. I was putting forward why I, as an Adult, should be allowed to Gamble (something you seem to dislike which is your right) if I wish to do so and if it is legal in my country, I was not ignoring why Belgium has banned them but discussed the two reasons countries, including Belgium, give in their decision.
  18. .................. a different reload time too, Haida is 50% worse, which was my point (that you don't see?) Ah, didn't bother to read the OP I see where I asked for the same reload speed only.
  19. [Co-Op] - Had to get 20 plane kills for the RN mission so out comes "old faithful" for a really fun game where an island blocked my shells which would have made 5 kills (DD stuck on the far side of an island). and then more frustration when, due to WG's stupid "enemy team hit 0 points" rule being used in Co-Op, I spent just 3 minutes in-game leaving 2 virtually full health BB's alive and giving everyone a really crap base XP score!
  20. Alcohol has a much wider negative effect yet Belgium hasn't banned it, maybe we should start a campaign for Belgium to ban alcohol because of its horrendous effects in society, which are much worse than lootboxes. I mean if Alcohol is cancer and the general public (=consumers) are unwilling to vote against it with their wallets (ie, stop buying it), I'd be very glad if the government starts talking steps and making that bs illegal. Nicotine in cigarettes etc also has a much wider negative effect (public health), yet Belgium hasn't banned it, maybe we should start a campaign for Belgium to ban Nicotine because of its horrendous effects in society, which are much worse than lootboxes. I mean as Nictotine actually causes cancer and the general public (=consumers) are unwilling to vote against it with their wallets (ie, stop buying it), I'd be very glad if the government starts talking steps and making that bs illegal. The pollution pumped out by Motor vehicles also has a much wider negative effect (planets health), yet Belgium hasn't banned it, maybe we should start a campaign for Belgium to ban the Internal Combustion Engine because of its horrendous effects to the planet, which are much worse than lootboxes. I mean if Pollution is cancer and the general public (=consumers) are unwilling to vote against it with their wallets (ie, stop buying vehicles), I'd be very glad if the government starts talking steps and making that bs illegal. Sarcasm aside, the problems always break down into 2 arguments, as provided by the Belgian Government too - Protection of Kids and "vulnerable" people - 1 - Kids can't buy lootboxes as they can't own any of the payment methods required for an on-line purchase outside of pre-paid cards controlled by a parent. Any child who has been able to buy a lootbox has bad parents and allowing your child to "gamble" because you're a bad parent who doesn't want to supervise your child should be considered just as bad as physical abuse. 2 - Adults who can own a payment requirement need to be adults and accept personal responsibility for ALL of their actions, including not paying any attention to their child and allowing them to gamble. However "vulnerable" adults i.e. those with a mental disability should absolutely be protected and that is not the responsibility of a company.
  21. Hi all, I'm a Co-Op player and the normal discussions about "which is best in PvP" etc don't really apply so I thought I'd ask this. I have enough Coal for the Musashi which is soon to be leaving the Arsenal, however I already have the Yamato (which I absolutely love) making the Musashi feel a bit redundant but I have no other IJN Premium BB for captain training which makes the Musashi feel useful to me. On the other hand I could also continue to save more Coal to get the Jean Bart instead which would be my first Premium French BB so a good captain trainer for my 16 point Alsace & 14 point Lyon captains. So I could use both ships well as Captain trainers, both seem to be capable against bow on charging bots (Musashi's overmatching guns and Jean Bart's speed and reload consumable) so both would feel equally useful to me but I'm just having trouble making the decision of which would best suit my needs. If the Musashi wasn't leaving soon I'd get the Jean Bart first as I think I could get the 750K Free XP for Musashi in a few months instead but the Musashi removal in update 0.8.0 (mid -Jan?) has skewed my thinking. Has anyone used either in Co-Op and can give an opinion? Cheers....................................................Ian
  22. Ah, so it's normal "daily Grind" missions, I was expecting to see "Marathon" missions but it's there in the screenshot
  23. Well first Musashi game - 170K+ damage with 6 Citadels combined on a Musashi (4 for 70k inc pens) and Yamato (2 for 27k inc pens) all at around 8-10km and the "worse" sigma of the Musashi felt no worse than the Yamato at Co-Op ranges. Then I broke and got the Jean Bart for Coal - 3 Kills (all Cruisers), 70k damage, forgot about the MRB and died to an Atago torp wall when I could have killed it if I'd reloaded quicker - Doh! Both very strong ships so far and I'm happy I now have both but, as a silly xmas present to myself, I used the Free XP I'd been saving for the Musashi to get a Nelson instead and I bloody love it!!!!!!!

    How to use Santa's gift

However, it genuinely made me more aware of friendlies positions when it costs real money to say sorry!

    How to use Santa's gift

I accidentally torped a friendly Tirpitz (first time in 6+ months) so I sent him a Christmas Box as an apology.
