[Co-Op] - The new 25% off Ships coupon came live today and I feel filthy after using that awesome smoke so well that I didn't have 1 single enemy shell hit me -
Knocking off Snowflakes - Co-Op is just sooooo bad right now!

Hmmmm, fairly sure that advice from someone much worse in Cruisers than I am is worthless (my cruiser PR in PvP is almost 50% higher than yours), but thanks for your post anyway, made me chuckle. Happy Christmas! -

It's amazing how little some people take away from a discussion but if thats the limit of your ability then that'll have to do I suppose. -
Replays are now automatically stored in the installation folder so look in "your game drive"/World_of_Warships_EU/replays - there should be the last 30 games in there. Just double click on a replay and it'll play and you can see the citadel and see the damage not increase.

Knocking off Snowflakes - Co-Op is just sooooo bad right now!

Hi Alfa_Tau, I think a lot of people may have misinterpreted the point of the OP which is probably down to my bad description but just to try and clear it up a little, my issue isn't so much with the PvP players themselves (apart from the sometimes toxic chat), as they are doing what they feel is best due to the limitation of the event. It's more about this event making PvP players feel "forced" into playing Co-Op (a mode they don't enjoy) due to time constraints (just a month instead of 2-3) and that the ".........and win" requirement feels like it has given most an attitude of "must play faster to get coal/steel faster", again forcing them to use Co-Op (a mode they don'y enjoy). So rather than simply playing their game normally and enjoying the game mode they play whilst still knocking off snowflakes, WG's event seems to have forced players into a game mode they don't enjoy, making the game generally less fun for everyone. So essentially, I'm having less fun, because of the influx of PvP players who are also having much less fun and all because of the design of WG's event. Skill Improvement - You can't improve your skill by purely playing bots, they're not a "challenge" enough to sink and can't even begin to approximate human behaviour so anyone who only plays Bots will not be as good in PvP as someone with mostly PvP experience but then I don't believe that Co-Op is being used by people wishing to improve their PvP skills. It's more for those who, and this term is used a lot, "just want to have fun" and can then do so away from the competitive world of PvP and without ruining the game for PvP players. For myself, I took 1300 PvP games before deciding that I didn't want to play PvP any more. My issue was the release of the German BB's and the change of MM to 4-5+ BB, 1-2 Cruisers and 4-5 DD's, which as a Cruiser main really wasn't fun. The salt got high, the gameplay style I'd enjoyed before (brawling - even in a cruiser) changed to a more static and campy nature and I felt that, while I enjoyed the game itself, I just didn't enjoy PvP any more. I mean I did OK in PvP (52% WR and "Good" PR so not a huge potato) but I just didn't feel like it was "fun" any more for me hence the swap. It still took a while to get used to the way the bots moved, spawned, their routes etc and it soon became too "easy" so I started setting myself challenges instead - can I sink 5 ships, can I do 200K damage, can I down 50 planes etc and it was those self-set challenges that made Co-Op fun and interesting for me and by setting those challenges my Co-Op "skill" has increased dramatically along with my enjoyment. You too and a great New Year! -
Awwwwwwwwww Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Just ticked over the 1M mark a few minutes ago and nearly finished the PEF Steel Missions. I'm pretty excited about the T9 Alaska but as a huge Atlanta fan I'm most excited about the Flint TBH and I almost can't wait til the 25th when the 25% discount voucher hits and I can get it. However, as truly excited as I am part of me can't help but feel that "reward" ships like the Flint shouldn't really be available to "buy" as I haven't "earned" any of the Steel I've got (via being a Whale with a PEF), which makes me feel bad for those who have worked hard in Ranked/Clan Wars for long enough that they have genuinely earned this ship so I';m torn between the two camps - I want the ship but don't think I should be able to "buy" it. What do you guys think? Should "reward" ships be left as just that, ships earned for performances or are WG right in allowing them to be bought by folks like me (never played Clan Wars/Ranked etc)?
-
When I've finished the P.E.F Combat Missions and collect my 2019 Steel I will NEVER touch this ship again and thats purely down to the BB vs BB AP Pen being so bad. I like the guns accuracy under 10km and it'll citadel Cruisers all day long but put it up against any other T6+ BB and it's just better off ramming rather than shooting! However, I feels that it's probably one of the more "balanced" premium ships we've had in a while, i.e. not too strong and not too weak which kind of makes my thoughts about the AP Pen confusing, as better AP pen might make it less "balanced".
-
I had the same in a Yamato vs a Republique and that French spaced armour really doesn't help with the "Zero damage pens" people see so many of all due to the mechanic you mentioned but I though WG had implemented a work-around to avoid seeing them anymore?

Hi All, From the WGEU website - https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/sales-and-deals/december-missions-2018/#dreadnought-marathon Yet I have no missions in my Port, no challenges, no marathons etc which, considering the Marathon is already 1/4 of the way through, has got me wondering if I've missed a "participate now" button or have WG got the info on their site wrong etc? Has anyone actually started this marathon yet?

Please quote my post where either I have been judged or that I have judged others, I'd be interested to see how the words on the screen can be interpreted differently to what I see when I wrote them. Hmmmm, it's interesting that you deliberately ignored the highlighted part of my post in your reply, why is that? -

The challenge is getting as far away from people with attitudes like that as possible. Co-Op isn't about "winning" because it's a 97%+ guarantee that you will, instead its about having the most fun YOU can have, to play the game exactly how YOU find it most fun without effecting the gameplay of other people. So when you're sick of the hiding, camping, toxic chat, passive/boring gameplay (which is how I see PvP after 1300+ games) and you leave PvP behind and move to Co-Op you are then free to play however makes YOU happy - Want to Brawl every match, even in a DD - Yeap, no problem - you want to try and get 5 kills and 200K damage in an Atlanta - well lets give a go by charging straight in and smashing everything - and you can do all this because it's Co-Op and you're going to win anyway so why not just go nuts and have a blast. However, now PvP players who can't achieve missions in Random because of a lack of skill or just bad luck, are opening up Co-Op and now that mode, which was a nice place where people could just go and have fun, is now filled with PvP players with attitudes like those quoted above who are only playing Co-Op "because I get my steel/coal faster", not because they enjoy the game and want to have fun, but because they want those free things faster than if they played a mode they actually enjoy - can't you see just how wrong that attitude is? You've turned the game from something that is supposed to be fun into a conveyor belt of "must play faster to get steel/coal faster" when you've got a month to claim these free things.- 75 replies

See, I told you someone would!!!!!! It's not "hurting" but just making the game less fun. For example, imagine random being flooded with 30% WR players for a few weeks all doing a mission, it just isn't fun to play that way. -
Mine just popped up for 100+- NICE!!!

The bundles are here! "THE MIGHT OF STEEL" COMBAT MISSION question.

However, they pay the WG staff wages, server costs etc though so they're necessary really. -
The bundles are here! "THE MIGHT OF STEEL" COMBAT MISSION question.
IanH755 replied to Blixies's topic in General Discussion
Yeap, here's a breakdown of the "Value for Money" on the top £91 bundle - 150 x 5 Signals - £17 Ship - £22 9000 Doubloons - £28 Steel Prinz Campaign - £43 Which comes to £110, plus there's the "non-shop available" items like 9M credits, missions, Steel, Coal etc on top so you do get a lot for your cold hard cash. However, whether that makes it "Value for Money" is up to each individual person to judge. -
Those IJ N ships always seem like huge fire starters to me, probably due to the 203mm shells they all throw. However, I know that also used to run the fire signals too after the AI captain skill's were added to scenarios, although I don't know if thats still the case.

Woooah, are you CRAZY???? You can't post that you actually did well out of these lootboxes because the "Gambling is Evil" folks will get their burning pitchforks out! Joking aside, I'm in exactly the same boat, bought 1 set more than I really needed to but easily got back more than I spent.

[Official] Wargaming Response to Steel Concerns

Wow, I'm in the 0.4% bracket of players, I feel so spechul -
Racism noun: racism prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior or the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races. When you casually throw around a word like "racism" so incorrectly it takes away the power the word 'should' have, leaving you looking like the little boy who cries Wolf. So when a genuinely racist person posts, your cries of "racism" will be ignored as just another 'Jaunx' episode by the majority who see you post it's incorrect use so often and allowing that racist behaviour to go unpunished.

What is your estimate for earning of "Steel" & "Coal" in upcoming "Snowflakes" event?

Watched a guy in a ARP Myoko on the North Map sail to the Old "D" cap (no longer there) to hide whilst my bot DD and my Tirpitz took the C cap from 2 DD's, a Cruiser, a Tirpitz and a Musashi yet, as he got 1 plane kill from a CV he still got 150-ish Base XP when he literally did NOTHING, so WG will reward even the lowest IQ players! I looked up their Stats and, sadly, was not surprised - 42% WR after 8K games, a PR of 211 and lines and lines and even more lines of red ships on WoWS Stats/Numbers.
-
I KNEW I wasn't going crazy, this has only started happening to since 0.7.11.X (one of the micro updates) but I wasn't sure if it was just me "missing" the ESC button which I clicked but I paid more attention and now see that it takes an extra 1 second to become selectable (the colour changes from dark grey to light grey) and then ANOTHER second before it registers a click!

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
IanH755 replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
[Co-Op] - Started off with 3 really fun back to back games and then two games where having a Full AA spec makes a huge difference - and then to finish everything off, the stupidest game I've played in a long time. The right side of the Shatter map is bloody stupid for Co-Op as the bot routes mean that 90% of the time the Bots at C will all charge to B instead and then get stuck on islands so no-one can shoot them for the first 5 minutes. Anyway, after that 5 minutes of gameplay I'd missed a few salvoes against ships 20+ km away (the only ships I could shoot at due to the bad map design) and only had a single over-pen on a DD to my name so I was abusing WG in the chat, raging about this being a terrible map when two Montana's popped out infront of me at 10km-ish fully broadside and 2 salvoes later I had 8 citadels and 2 dead Montana's....................thanks WG I guess????
