Are carriers underpowered?
WarburtonLee replied to anonym_B6gPRti0Pvn7's topic in General Discussion
I am not really playing CVs, i have played the low tier ones and did fine i guess, and i agree they are very powerful if used correctly. However i do think the monster AA on battleships is really stupid, if AA cruisers is supposed to have a role. Now, i whenever i bring the Kutuzov out i hope for CVs in the game, to make me actually have a purpose compared to normal HE spamming games. But whats the point really, when North Carolinas on my team shoots down everything by themselves? I would say make BBs VERY voulnerable to CVs, and then AA cruisers would be much more important. -
Not as bad as some posts in this thread

Umm, ok i dont fully agree about the gun arcs though, i think they are great. Well, russian DDs then? good guns and fast, he will improve the aim quite quickly if he pays any attention to were the shell lands. Kutuzov was the game-learner for me btw, i jumped straight into it from having all lines at tier 5 or so, and my game improved immediately after getting into tier8+. 650-700 battles in it will tell you how much i like that ship
-
OP: I agree with most of what you said (exept no randomness in CS ) But i think AA cruisers should be amazing at shooting down planes somehow, but i dont see why BBs needs AA ratings up to 100. It should IMO be the CA/CL players job to guard against planes.
-
Well, there is a reason why i like russian DDs most. I feel personally that they play more similar to other ships (atleast i am, im detected 95% of the match, and i dont bother with consealment). They play like i feel all DDs should have been (visible, hard to hit)

I dont look at the karma much, but i must have pleased someone i guess Last i looked it was 12 or something, now its 38 (!?)

He has the Kutuzov, good learning ship. OT: Dont accuse people of cheating, its one of the worst things i know, almost as lame as MM-whining. A little tip for you might be to try and record a few of your battles, and then watch them later. Im sure you will be amazed to see your own mistakes, i do myself even in awesome games.

That is a strange statement tbh. "If you arent skilled in your CV you shouldnt play ranked". Ranked is, as far as i know, for everyone, and no special skills required. Ranked is a challenge to see how high you can get, and less skilled players have equal rights to participate.

Deep Sea Tournament - how do TX teambattles actually work out?
WarburtonLee replied to Crysantos's topic in General Discussion
I know what you mean, but competetive play in almost all games are "unrealistic". I have a very good strategy game i play alot. When i want immersion, rpg and "realistic play" i play it singleplayer with some good mods. But i often play it multiplayer for "competition" even though the game itself becomes quite a different experience since people play to win etc. Point is, competetive play may seem boring and unrealistic until you get into it, then you will simply forget the "realism" aspect and see it as a competition. -

Yes i agree on your point, but i would actually take it further. How about a mode were one team is defenders, one team is attackers, and the goal for the attackers is for example to bring one pre-defined ship into one of the caps and stay there for 1 minute? Now, for this to be possible, the defenders should start closer to the caps to prepare and position themselves, or else they would be overun. Defenders will have to guard both caps, and attackers can rush one cap with all ships, or split up to confuse the enemy, even send all ships exept the VIP on a cap etc etc. This opens up alot of strategies. If time runs out, defenders wins. This was just an example not very thought-trough, and there can be many more gamemodes. -

Yes, everyone who think it would be different in tier 6 is wrong. Remeber this is TEAMS where they make calls to eachother etc, it wont ever be like tier 6 random battles. Or, it might be, but the team who does that will simply loose. You cant in a competetive match vs a dedicated team run off like you can in random battles. Thats why a newbie who watches some professional matches in Counter-Strike will think they are all campers and bad players. They are not, but they take it slow to gather info on the enemy team, use preplanned strats etc. But when the rush IS coming, it will be a much harder, well coordinated push than you will ever see in a random battle. BUT, competetive play in this game seems to still be in a very early stage IMO, and will ofcourse develop alot. -

Very interessting to watch. I agree with you that the teams with the most map control won, since they can faster react to different strategies the enemies might have. In the first match, we saw Maiden Tea Party using one or 2 "lurkers" as we call it in Counter-Strike, to provide information + they kept resetting with the help of radar. As i know from playing on competetive lvls of CS, one can not afford to be "pinned down" like that, taking fire from all angles. Sometimes, you rush one spot yes, but then you have to follow through. Various strategies will soon become common knowledge as/if the game grows and attract competetive play, and the best teams will have to come up with knew ones continually. This was actually the first match ive watched were i have seen some "advanced" strategy in this game, and it was very refreshing Also, good commentary and awereness of whats happening -

CV should have to make speed to launch/recover aircraft
WarburtonLee replied to Martinborgen's topic in Aircraft Carriers
CVs are unpopular as it is, lets not make it worse for them. For the top players, it will just be easy to do but annoying, and for the rest it will be even more multitasking and annoyance. -
The higher the tier, the more boring the game is
WarburtonLee replied to valrond's topic in General Discussion
I completely disagree. After getting my first premium tier 8 a week or so after starting the game, i never looked back. I only occationally play lower tiers to get some exp to uppgrade the ships to higher tiers. But its so boring, that i am afraid i will never get all those lines to tier X since i got the Khabarovsk, and find it a lot more fun to play than anything in the lower tiers -
Why is firirng with battleships feels like playing lottery?
WarburtonLee replied to redraven's topic in Battleships
Cruisers are NOT 400% more accurate. The Moskva, wich is considered being very accurate, have a dispersion of 167m at 19.4km, while the Yamato has a dispersion of 276m at 26.6km. Now, wich ones of those are most impressive? -

Another quick question sice you guys knows it all, do i meet people around the same rank as myself? I mean, is there a +- system like in MM? -
Any tips about Tier 7+ IJN destroyers?
WarburtonLee replied to FenixWing's topic in General Discussion
As many others above have said, you got good guns, use them. I can remember MANY times this last week were an IJN DD would have sunk me if he werent afraid of using his guns. I rush towards them with my Khabarovsk with 2000 hp, and still wins the fight becouse they try to run and wont fire back. ( LOL at trying to run from me btw ) -

Ok, so its not stuck at T7? Does that flag you get at rank 5 means you open up T9-TX? Then perphaps i would reconsider, as i like T8-X much better overall -

ok, 2500 doubloons i see. But thats what it costs me already to retrain the captain to use him for this, as i cant go a day without some Khabarovsk action -

Yes those flags i know of etc, but reaching the highest rank, is there any point besides right to brag? -

Just a quick question, is there any rewards or anything for doing well in ranked? I have played a few battles some days ago, but i find it less fun than randaom battles atm -
The night has been going very well for me

I just had one also, think you were in it perphaps? like 10 minutes ago?

Whats the point in a forum if one cant have suggestions? YOUR post is the ones who is filling forums with spam mr, not the OP. Your post is very close to fanboy-ism and i suggest you to "just stop. Please stop, just stop". OT: I like the map, so no thx
