The problem is Collin, that for grown up guys like us it would be just fine. But it WILL be abused, spammed etc to the point you would just turn it off. Unless they made it really simple and easy to mute only those we are getting sick of. If youre lucky to get good teammates, it would be awesome i agree with that
-
Salty Silver? just kidding, im afraid you are right.
-
But since youll never stop disbelieving me since i had no straight up facts, and i can never have unless i write down every match, lets look at Esa. 12,7% of his deaths is a randomly instakill, and i do think that is too much. that was the whole point of this, if you can just stop focusing on my not-scientific numers

This is what i said "Overall yes, but as i said i mean playing DDs. Detonations in any other ship has not been an issue. Now, i had 720 battles in DDs and 28 detonations (I can honestly not remember being detonated in any other ship, but it might have happened when i was fresh at the game and didnt know what it was, so lets say 25 detonations). Of those 720 battles in DDs, i have been immune to detonations in alot of them. 25ish x 10 = 250ish + all the flags you get from rewards wich i have no clue how many. I got to rank 10 i think before it became boring in ranked etc. But even if we keep all award flags out since i cant even guess how many i have recived, i have detonated 25 times in 470 battles. Lets say i survived roughly half of those matches (i didnt, but to put it simple), i detonated 25 times in the 235 times i sank. Over 10% of the reason i have sank, and it is really ALOT more " You claimed it was 1 %, i still think its over 10%. Edit: actually my number is VERY close to his
-
Yes, you said 1% and was wrong. Its actually over 10% as Esatuunanen confirms. just check it out
-
Ok, evidence enough for the crowd? Ty for confirming, i was 110% sure. Now when you got only dd matches its really easy to let them see for themselves
-
Now that is interesting really. we have same amount of detonations amost, i got 2 more, but i have only (2283) 720 battles in destroyers while you have (3772) 1200 ish. Are you playing with or without flags?
-
i should have made it more clear, i know, but i said gunboats. I should have said it in thread title also
-
Nice post. I dont really want to remove them ( maybe change the way it works), im just adressing the fact that its NOT 1% on Gunboats, wich 95% of the quoters in this thread dont understand. They think its another "removedetonations" topic, come in and autoposts stuff without reading
-
Allright so now you start blaming ME, im the only one even close of mentioning any numbers, while every other person here keep coming with OVERALL numbers in wich i dont care a crapabout. Its DESTROYERS we are discussing for heavens sake. Now, you HONESTLY belive im detonating 1% in my destroyer games? That i wrote this topic just for fun? Lol, i now got 29 detonations btw, do you think ive played 100 games in a few hours?
-
No you dont have about 1400 games, you have 314. Read what i have written, DDs not anything else, just DDs
-
You got to post 4 gj! let me paste post 16 for you: "Overall yes, but as i said i mean playing DDs. Detonations in any other ship has not been an issue. 90 % was to make a point obviously. But read post 16. And yes, i want to play in the highest tiers i can, im not having fun below tier8 for some reason. And you might be playing more DDs than me, but ive "just started rus DDs" if you can say. I have not touched others almost after getting the tier x
-
Example of another one who doesnt get the point. Read post nr 4 and 16 in this thread
-
Is every suggestion / personal opinion a whine thread to you? Now, ALOT of people who have posted here fails to get my point. Point is in short, detonations happen way more often than people tells, not that ive neceserraly want them removed. Ive shown how over 10% of deaths in a gunboat is by detonations, and that i think its a little (or FAR too) much. Dont bring in CA BB detonations, ive not even mentioned them. They are rare so its fine.
-
Yes probably. But i dont get why a good player would want more RNG in witch will hurt him more than an average player. I certainly dont like ithe luck factor of it, but if one could add some elements of skill to it i wouldnt mind. For example som of the suggestions earlier in this topic
-
do you think more than 10% of deaths should be detonations?
-
And, as i said earlier, i know all this perfectly well. It wasnt a history-discussion this was meant to be, but a gameplayfeature. And btw, bradsides has nothing to do with this, im not talking about citadels but detonations
-
No you dont. You either like them OR you find them annoying

Oh really? Around this time, Johnston took three 14 in (360 mm) shell hits from Kongō, followed closely by three 6 in (150 mm) shells—from either a light cruiser or Yamato—which hit the bridge. The hits resulted in the loss of all power to the steering engine and all power to the three 5-inch guns in the aft part of the ship, and rendered the gyrocompass useless. A low-lying squall came up, and Johnston "ducked into it" for a few minutes of rapid repairs and salvage work. The bridge was abandoned and Commander Evans—who had lost two fingers on his left hand—went to the aft steering column to conn the ship. At 07:50, Admiral Sprague ordered destroyers to make a torpedo attack: "small boys attack". Johnston, unable to keep position with her damaged engine, and with her torpedoes already expended, nonetheless moved to provide fire support for the other destroyers. As she emerged from a smoke screen, she nearly collided with fellow destroyer Heermann. At 08:20, Johnston sighted a Kongō-class battleship—only 7,000 yd (6,400 m) away—emerging through the smoke. The destroyer opened fire, scoring multiple hits on the superstructure of the much larger ship. The return fire from the battleship missed clearly. Johnston soon observed Gambier Bay under fire from an enemy cruiser, and engaged the cruiser in an effort to draw her fire away from the carrier. Johnston scored four hits on the heavy cruiser, then broke off as the Japanese destroyer squadron was seen closing rapidly on the American escort carriers. Johnston engaged the lead ship until it quit, then the second until the remaining enemy units broke off to get out of effective gun range before launching torpedoes, all of which missed. Then, Johnston's luck ran out; she came under heavy fire from multiple enemy ships, and right when it was most needed, the damaged remaining engine quit, leaving her dead in the water. Under attack from all sides Some time into the battle, a Japanese battleship, the Kongō, fired two rounds from her main cannons. One round punched through the thin side armor of the Johnston and cut a hole through the engine room. Her speed was cut in half. The enemy ships closed in for an easy kill, pouring fire into the crippled destroyer. Johnston took a hit which knocked out one forward gun and damaged another, and her bridge was rendered untenable by fires and explosions resulting from a hit in her 40 mm ready ammunition locker. Evans—who had shifted his command to Johnston's fantail—was yelling orders through an open hatch to men turning her rudder by hand. Crewmen from the destroyer escort Samuel B. Roberts spotted Evans at the fantail, asking "isn't that their captain", waving to them with what they did not realize was his only good hand. At one of her batteries, a crewman kept calling "More shells! More shells!"[2] Still the destroyer battled to keep the Japanese destroyers and cruisers from reaching the five surviving American carriers: "We were now in a position where all the gallantry and guts in the world couldn't save us, but we figured that help for the carrier must be on the way, and every minute's delay might count.... By 9:30 we were going dead in the water; even the Japanese couldn't miss us. They made a sort of running semicircle around our ship, shooting at us like a bunch of Indians attacking a prairie schooner. Our lone engine and fire room was knocked out; we lost all power, and even the indomitable skipper knew we were finished. At 9:45 he gave the saddest order a captain can give: 'Abandon Ship.'... At 10:10 Johnston rolled over and began to sink. A Japanese destroyer came up to 1,000 yards and pumped a final shot into her to make sure she went down. A survivor saw the Japanese captain salute her as she went down, considering her an honorable enemy. That was the end of Johnston."[2] From Johnston's complement of 327 officers and men, only 141 were saved. Of the 186 men lost, about 50 were killed outright by enemy action; 45 men later died on rafts from wounds; and 92 men—including Cmdr. Evans—got off Johnston before she sank, but were never heard from again.

Please read post number 4 in this discussion, its not 1%....
-
Not a bad idea either, much better than it is now IMO
-
If none of my ideas are implemented, i hugely prefer your solution over the way it is now
-
If only it was possible to implement some sort of skill out of the feature, either for the shooter or the reciever of the shot. Not sure its possible to do it for the shooter in any reasonable way, but for the one who gets hit there might be options. For example some sort of warning that magazines are hit, you need to flood them QUICKLY, or put the fire out in 0,5 sec or something silly like that. Unrealistic yes, but so are many other things in this game.
