    Bad teams: what do you do about them?

    Things is, even when things start off (seemingly) bad, like e.g. a full blown lemming train, you can't assume it's an automatic loss. Always find it funny when someone declares the battlle lost before we hit the 5 min mark or within the first 1 min even - and then we win anyway because the opposing team does something equally derpy - or just because everybody carries their weight and play together, lemmin train or not. Generally I find that most people do their best and some of the worst players are often those that e.g. assumes that the DDs don'e know what they are doing if they do not yolo cap (but actually play tactically) or just calls everybody idi**ts and think that'll motivate the team to do their bidding.... Well, anyway, I find that I myself play much better if I do not let myself get agitated by "Bad Teams" and instead focus on doing the best I can under any given circumstances, if just a few players does that, it can turn a "Bad Team" into a winning team. That said, somethimes it is really hard not to get salty but but asking/directing people nicely (without sarcasm) just have a better effect - so most of the time I succeed in either not saying a piip or formulating myself with a measure of good manners. Point being, if I do not let myself get carried away with irritation over (seemingly) derpy actions by other players, I play better myself thus adding more to the chances og winning - and enjoying myself more. And, yes, then there are just those day's when nothing works and where your better off turning of the computer and going for a walk instead.

    It's gonna be the year of the CV . Totalley enough for a full year . On a more serious note. I don't think there's been a preview video lilke that for 2018, but I might be wrong.

    I get your point, but don't think you can compare work with playing a game. So on this I agree that; we diagree and it's fine by me.

    He, he using reverse logic do not make me understand your logic any better, on the contrary . Devoting time, mental health (?) etc is a choice you make because you want to play the game, hopefully because you think it's fun and voila there's you ROI (return on investment). "Free" is in my mind when you do not have to pay real money for something and you do not have to do that to get rewards from e.g. missions ergo it's "free".

    How is #3 not free?? Nobody is forcing you to play grindy missions. You can choose not to. I think it's okay that some mission you can't really take if you have chosen not to play a particular line/ship class. If you should guarantee that all got the rewards, no mission neccesary just hand out the goodies... Sure there are some braindead missions in there leading to pretty funny team setup's but other tham that it's nice to have supoplementary goals to go for (I think) with potential rewards at the end, if you choose to take the challange. If you feel compelled to play all missions, I think the issue is elsewhere.

    I think you should shelve your expectations on historical accuracy, for your own peace of mind, as there's little historical accuracy on all counts. Consider this as an arcadey game inspired by IRL ships...

    ? Hopefully you play for your own sake, not WG. So the time and effort you put into the game should be a reward in itself otherwise I do not understand why you would play at all?

    RNG and individual gameplay eperience

    It seems to me, from my experience, that there's just those kind of team streaks both of the good and bad kind. Some day's you just end up on teams where you have a gathering of sniping BBs, iland huggers of all kinds and so on. Other times it just somehow all comes together. It's when the bad streaks seem to go on and on that makes it frustrating. I've had a bad period of several months where both my own play and the teams I ended up in, just... did... not... work. And then lately I have had more of the good fights, ending up in battles where both teams tried playing together for the objectives, leading to lot's of fun. And then suddenly, last night I had a string of strange occurences, like a Neptune broadsiding my DD with torps from behind in a mindbogling stupid maneuver, another cruiser later shot at me for leaving cap seconds before I would have been spotted and deleted by three cruisers pushing into the cap uopposed by any of my team mates that where mostely hidinh behind ilands with no chance to shoot (except at me) - we won that with me ending up top exp with four ships sunk and two caps, so that helped my mood. And my start today, oh... First game whole team went west hid behind the largets possible iland and let me and another DD duke it out with opposing team for caps, did not end well ... Thing is, I find, if I let myself get too frustrated by lack of teamplay, mstupid RNG team ups etc, it makes me play bad further compounding the issue. So I try (really try) to not let that get to me - and when I succeed I find that I tend to get more good batlles even in seemingly hopeless teams. And if not, I can always come here to vent/whine, that also helps some times .

    Phew . Hmm, actually I am not so impressed by Gadja Mada, and would definitely not call it overpowered. Strong yes and they can hold their own against other DDs in a tight spot. Shenyang felt very strong, however, I only had 10 battles in it as it was just a step on the way to get to higher tier also in the PA DD line. Anyway, thank you for clearing that up with the nerf bit .
  14. So I have played German and IJN DDs to TX and US to TIX. An enjoyable ride. I am at OGNEVOI in the russian line free xp'ing past Minsk that I hated from the get go. Now I am returning to the russian line and in an effort to not lose motivation, I ask for advice on playstyle for the russian DDs. Derzski and Gnevny I remember as being hugely fun but have not really ben able to find any fondness for the others. They feel a bit unvieldly and for gunboats, their guns seem underwelming, at least in my hands. Any good advice are welcome as I am pretty sure they can be fun with the right approach?

    Source? I think it would be a real pitty. The Pan A DDs are fine as they are - I would say on par with the US DDs with the added plus they can actually put a dent in the BBs and I think we need that. As it is, when I play BB - which do happen on occasion- I do not pay much attension to IJN, nor US DDs as you can easily shrug off a torp or two from those. Good RU DD players can whittle you down with guns, but meh. However if a PAN A DD is in the waters I am much more prone to the good ol wsad hack, just to be sure...

    Good to know, thank you! Well at least the Ognevoi should suit me well as I hugely enjoy playing the Benson. Maybe I should just try out both RU banches of DDs (oh, thegrinding...)

    I would not mind a little focus window, although purely for viewing the ship currently in focus enyoing it visually up close. Don't need the other stuff
  22. Just came from such a TX game (in a T8 myself). Usually I can dodge / skirt radar in my DD, but in this case the opposing team had four Radar ships, we one... Opposing team played well, pushed hard and I literally was under radar the whole freaking time except 20 sec where I dared push for a cap, got detected by another DD and ... pronto radar'ed again. We lost... with our DDs eradicated even if we did stay alive quite long dodging the hails of shells. Would have been fun if not for the fact that it felt quite hopeless being perma spotted that way and knowing we had little to counter their four radar ships... And yes. I would rather see radar disaapeared altogether but just balancing it in the MM would go a long way...

    Stop smoking up BBs!

    Hmm, pretty devoid of nuance. Smoked up a BB yesterday giving him a chance to heal after he overextended. He healed up and proceeded to thereafter devestate the two BBs that had him pinned down moments before. Smoked up another BB today that made the "turn of death" for some reason, saving his a:::. However you do have a point, you gotta keep on spotting so you do not blind the rest of the team - and the BB gotta know not to fire other wise its a waste. So its not so black and white as to never smoke up a BB or a cruiser for that matter - or even another DD that is in troble.

    I like this, but then again I prefer DDs so I am biased that way. Then again I also play CV's and enjoy that - and could see it work. Just one issue - would be H... to chase DDs then....
