Reconsideration of historical flags for German ships (USK)
Egoleter replied to WeGreedy's question in Q&A Section
Yes and no. It is banned in general. For everything. Exceptions can be made. Potentially those exceptions to some computer games could have made sooner as well. If the USK would not consist of some backwater conservative members that were unwilling to adapt to modern times. It's a board that adopts veeeery slowly to the worlds realities. -

Considering the current NTC plans and their heated discussion, I doubt it is a smart move to announce such a rebatte right now. -
Are you willing to BOYCOTT Wargaming products untill they cancel the Naval Training Centre initiative is officially cancelled?
Egoleter replied to BlackFish__'s topic in General Discussion
Moderators are volunteer users like you and me. They are not employees of Wargaming and had nothing to do with the idea. And biased polls are bad. -

Was FB dazu sagt ist völlig irrelevant.

Reconsideration of historical flags for German ships (USK)
Egoleter replied to WeGreedy's question in Q&A Section
Then you understood wrongly. It wasn't banned completly before either. The USK just chose to expand their already used list ofexceptions to computer games. For educational use or in an artistic sense it was already allowed in all other forms of art. Movies, series, pictures and more made use of it in the past decades and where shown uncensored to the german public. If it fits neither of those bolded requirements it was and still is banned. For something to be artistic it needs not just be a recreation of previously existing things. Copies are not creative art. No, it is telling a story of a different timeline with some added sci-fi elements. They created something with artistic value by adding a new twist to it while still maintaining the picture of the evil third reich. WoWs does none of that. -

There is a mission in regards to todays independence day. Road to independence Stage 1: Destroy 12 Ships (Random or savage battles only) Stage 2: Earn 50.000 XP (Random or savage battles only) Stage 3: Earn 12.500 base XP (Random or savage battles only) Stage 4: Earn 12.500 freeXP (Random or savage battles only) Reward for stage 1-3: 2 Stars and Stripes camos Reward for Stage 4: Star & Stripes perma camo for Texas Final reward: Premium ship Texas + 3-point captain Time to complete: 12th July. As this is a regular mission reward, my guess is on credits as compensation. -
ST, Naval Training Center, free Premium Consumables and improvement of the matchmaker.
Egoleter replied to Tanatoy's topic in Development Blog
Premium consumables do not even come close to the suggested ship improvements by the NTC system. That's like taking one step forward and then going a kilometer backwards. The matchmaker adjustments will not matter anymore if you encounter a ship that is buffed by the NTC in a way that, despite being on the same tier, could be considered two or more tiers higher. The whole tier system will be thrown into disarray. -

ST, Naval Training Center, free Premium Consumables and improvement of the matchmaker.
Egoleter replied to Tanatoy's topic in Development Blog
My concerns and comments in a few easy to understand points(might have been mentioned by others previously): I have some favorite ships that I love to play. Among them is my Shimakaze with far beyond 2 million accumulated XP on it. Instead of allowing me to do something usefull with that XP, you will instead force me to grind the entire line again (would that include the IJN DD split line?) and move all those XP to the useless tier I, so I might gain a better version of that one ship. The upgrades when all combined are extremly powerfull. You essentially create new more powerfull duplicates of the existing lines. It's the purest form of powercreep. They by themself have the ability to unbalance the game massivly. Which brings us to ... Balancing. How will you perform it if every ship has four potential settings to keep track of? There will be a multitude of balance issues once you implement the Naval Training Center system. How long do you expect to fidle with the system to get it right? How will your supertesters test new ships? What will you do if I realize that one ship became a monstrous overpowered beast in its upgraded form but works fine without? Discrepancy in balance between new and old players. Older players, if they chose to regrind a line, which you say takes a several month event, gain a significant advantage over new players. New players will never be able to catch up to that. Grind, grind, grind, grind, grind. Sorry, but we told you in the past (and MrFingers continues to do so with every event) that grind after grind after grind is causing players fatigue. At some point everyone will experience it stop bothering with the events or the game alltogether. Now you add another layer of grind on top of the event grinds and expect us to like it. This will backfire sooner rather then later. That one I have definatly seen mentioned: Do not give performance gains. If you absolutly have to implement the system despite your players obviously hating it (a good way to show that you don't care about the playerbase and nail in your games coffin) make it economic bonuses. More free XP, more credits, less maintenence. 2 - 4 are essentially about the same thing. I added them seperatly though as each subpoint is an issue by itself. I'll add more arguments once they come to mind. Edit (found one more reason against it): Competetive gameplay will no longer be competetive as teams engaging each other could have completly different ship stats. Clan battles, ranked battles, as well as any player made tournament, can be decided by who spend more money for freeXP conversions or had a lot of time to re-grind ship lines to upgrade their favorite ship. It would be no longer about skill. -
A word on communication strategy (and damage control)
Egoleter replied to Aotearas's topic in Off-Topic
There is no tradition. This is Wargamings forum, not ours. They make the rules. They define what topics fit where. When you create your own forum you can allow traditions to exist and deal with the chaos. That's your choice. On the boards here you will have to bow to their rules. The volunteer moderators (always remember that they are players like the rest of us) are just enforcing what you accepted when you started posting here. -
ST, Naval Training Center, free Premium Consumables and improvement of the matchmaker.
Egoleter replied to Tanatoy's topic in Development Blog
The naval training center sounds like an awful idea and a great way to unbalance ships just for being owned by veteran players. Please scrap this idea and don't bother with developing this concept any further. The rest is ok. -
Nope. It was always there. You detonate because your ammunition depot has been hit. It doesn't matter what hostile ammunition caused this. Statistics. Sometimes they work against you.

I recieved my 3 year anniversary gifts at the end of January. It worked at least back then. I'm not sure if there actually is a fourth year gift yet. @MrConway @Crysantos could you enlighten us here? Did you just create your account on this day four years ago, or is it also the same day you started playing?

That's what camos and signals are for. Not a chance. Imagine the laughing James Jonah Jameson gif NO! Definatly not. There are upgrades and signals for that. We have a captain skill for that. For flood and fire we have signals and a captain skill. Increasing chances for citadels is increasing accuracy or even improved penetration. See my reply in regards to accuracy and damage above. Camos and captains skills for that. Maybe once hell freezes over. That's the most pay to win suggestion I have seen on the forums in a long long time.

All we want is to be treated the same way. No playing favorite with one part of the community while leaving the rest in the dust. No matter if a third party is involved or not (you could have refused those Steam deals). And we'd like to know how you react to this. No behind closed doors decisions that we will never learn about.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Egoleter replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
@aboomination accidentally stumbled into the savage battle team I was forming with a clanmate. The three of us killed five and we all survived. It was a nice run. -
Are you grinding (or will grind) USS Tier IX DD "Benham" for 800 "Fuel Tokens"?
Egoleter replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
The hardest part about the grind are the 48 necessary daily missions. That's tough, twice the number I usually achieve for a whole month, but I'll probably somehow manage this. If need be by grinding quick co-op battles for the victory XPs. -
