Festive Cheer Prize Draw - Do you feel lucky!
Egoleter replied to Major_Riff's topic in General Discussion
I'll highlight your edit a bit by quoting. With that offer you deserve our thanks as well. -
Those carrier secondaries are mostly for show. Their range is low and their numbers are few. Unless a DD is already badly hurt, those guns will not disturb him at all. No matter how many skill points and flags you use.
-
Which is, for many players, not enough time to prepare properly. It also isn't enough time to get answers from Wargaming if there are still questions open after the patch notes have been posted.

Festive Cheer Prize Draw - Do you feel lucky!

This is very generous of you. I guess with the gamer ID tag you mean the username. Well... that is easy... Egoleter it is. The prefered ship would be a Kamikaze. (If that is not available next month I'd take an Arizona as an alternative) -
Where you zoomed in? Was there smoke you didn't notice?
-
The patch notes are released with enough time before the actual patch to prepare our fleets accordingly? The evening before the patch would not qualify as "enough time". We will get more detailed stats, including tech updates, for the new ships to decide if we want them, with or before those patch notes?
-
Thanks for these first few answers but there is more... What about the captain and the captain skills? What about the accumulated XP still on the ship? What about researched higher tier ships and the spend XP if the higher tier ship has not been bought? I'll give you a specific example. My Fubuki, currently tier VIII, soon reduced to tier VI. There are 450k XP on that ship. The Kagero is already researched but never bought. There is a 16, nearly 17, point captain on board. What will happen in this example? Will my new Tier VIII ship still have 450k spare XP? Will my tier VIII captain still be near his 17th skill point? Will I have researched the Yugumo? Will my now tier reduced Fubuki still have a near 17 point captain? Will my now tier reduced Fubuki still have 450k spare XP? Will the replacement be in the line the Fubuki now belongs to? What about the other line? There are ships in there I researched previously. Will I still have access to them? As I have previously researched the follow up ship of the Hatsuharu, then the Fubuki now the Shiratsuyu, will I still have access to that follow up ship? And I haven't been here at a time where such shifts happened. This is the first time for me and we got promised a detailed explanation of how we will be compensated.

ARP Takao? nah, prepare for the ARP Nachi pain
Egoleter replied to Jvd2000's topic in General Discussion
Let me ignore the generalization (you really like to attack people for no reason at all, don't you?). Oh, look... why do those players act like that (they chase the squirrel even without such a mission plenty of times) currently? Oh, yes... because of the mission design we are critizising. We don't demand an easier mission because we want to get the ship any easier. Heck... make it 200 kills and another 5 million damage afterwards for all I care. We want Wargaming EU to adjust the mission because it is bad for the playing environment, as you yourself just admitted. So please don't tell us to stop complaining if we want the same thing. -

If you don't care then why are you in this thread? We have our opinion. Clearly stated in the title. If you disagree, yet can't ingore the topic, a single post is enough. Other then that the thread is about the poor mission design and not if you specifically are fine with it or not. Unlike you, most of us do not argue for ourselfs. -
I'd like to keep it without a mod. I'm mod free and want to stay that way.

It helps in training one captain quick. In regards to the port there is a bad and some good news. The bad news: MrConway said we will lose the Yokozuka port at the end of the year. The good news: We will get a different way to enable these cooperation contents. So you'll most likely be able to use those ships in other ports without a mod.

ARP Takao? nah, prepare for the ARP Nachi pain
Egoleter replied to Jvd2000's topic in General Discussion
I start to get the feeling that you only participate on the forums to antagonize. I'll still answer your post. - Please show me where I complained that I didn't get the ship? If you read up my posts on this topic you'll see that I actually stated that I am confident to complete it before the time runs out. - That you only care about the Takao is completly irrelevant to all those who want a complete collection of those ships. It doesn't matter that you don't care. You are not the center of the universe. Empathy might be hard for you but you should still try it some time. Not to mention that you are missing the point of the complaints. That the mission is uneccessary hard for no reason at all. The tier restriction and the RU kill objective are, in combination, to much to create a fun gaming environment. You do not want to create stress in your playerbase or the players will sooner or later start to run away. A game should never feel like work. - Thank you for providing targets for those who do care about the ships. But calling those who care about the ships obsessed, just because you don't care at all is still trolling. -
ARP Takao? nah, prepare for the ARP Nachi pain
Egoleter replied to Jvd2000's topic in General Discussion
It's not the same thing. Because by that logic we wouldn't need a mission for the ship at all, as it is an exact copy of the standard tier VII cruiser that everybody can research. Those missions and rewards are meant to get the players to play. The reward is there, so that the players have a good feeling after spending so much time at the game. Frustrating the players with incredibly hard to achieve mission objectives usually does not help the players to enjoy the game. -
ARP Takao? nah, prepare for the ARP Nachi pain
Egoleter replied to Jvd2000's topic in General Discussion
Just had a Khaba before my guns. I did hit it again and again but those last 821 hitpoints it had didn't want to vanish. Damage saturation prevented my 12th RU kill. I congratulated the player in chat for getting away like that. I just hope that the next five weeks will not be filled with more situations like that. -
There is a difference between giving advice and publicly announcing that you reported someone because that player doesn't play to your standards. Often enough, those complaining also don't fullfill those standards themself. And be honest. With your message that you reported a player, you hoped that others would report that one as well. Your plan, of which you might not even have been aware of in your anger, backfired on you.
-
No, you can't. You have to start with a new account over there. You can play on the EU server while you are there. The latency isn't much of a problem. Of course you wouldn't be able to play together with your cusin then.

In somewhat nicer words... Please use this thread to discuss the informations provided: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/56433-discussion-thread-for-some-interesting-info-from-ru/

Normally I'd say the truth is more like 10 to 12 km as your main fighting distance. But sometimes even that is not close enough. (Dear children, this stunt has been performed by a trained professional. Stay safe. Please don't try it at home.)

ARP Takao? nah, prepare for the ARP Nachi pain
Egoleter replied to Jvd2000's topic in General Discussion
I will soon have completed the 500 secondary hits mission. It is the last of the easy ones as I did all the others with my Fubuki. Once I got Myoko that way, Nachi is all that is left. I have to get back into my Fubuki (in cooperation with Takao) and hunt for nine more RU kills. I could tier up a few other ships instead, which would be much more fun, but the collector in me wants that last ARP ship. It will be one boring grind. -
That's the problem. Once you realize that one or two fires are nothing serious to worry about, you'll start to get much better results. A lot of players panic if they are on fire. If they'd stay calm, they could kill the cruiser(s) responsible for it, or at least make them think twice about messing with a BB.
-
I remember. I never get them.
-
Well... so you let the ship that is supposed to counter you live, so you can deal bigger damage numbers. Sounds like a smart move. Not. Low hitpoint target. Can die through a single volley of your guns or at least get severly hurt (without any chance to heal). Armed with lots and lots of torpedos that are out to hurt you. Ignoring it is never an option.
-
You are way to fixated on which shiptype should engage the others. Every ship can harm every other ship.
-
So you ignore DDs or run away from them? Why don't you run from overwhelming odds and superior teamplay? I am successfull in BBs. I shoot DDs. Until they are dead or until they run away. Works surprisingly well and supports your team in getting rid of dangerous, but low hitpoints, targets.
