Mikasa/Pre-Dreadnought Appreciation Fleet
Egoleter replied to Close_Quarters_Expert's topic in Other
I am using my higher tier IJN BB captain whenever I take the Mikasa for a drive. That one is specialized in secondaries. Considering the large amount of secondary guns it is not a bad choice. You need to be aware of the enemies who are near you to select them as a target.- 102 replies

Interestingly enough the US server promotes this Q&A as available on FB and twitch. Apparently it is possible.

Auto Avoidance of Islands - needs to be removed by be an option
Egoleter replied to RevelAndQuaff's topic in General Discussion
I am absolutly certain that even on the ocean map a rogue island suddenly jumped at the front of my ship to stop me dead in the water. You never know where those little buggers show up but it usually at the worst possible moment for yourself. -
I would like some numbers on percentages of ship nations played at tier 8+ during the mission time. Chances to meet a russian ship on the opposing team. On average or per week doesn't matter much. Did the numbers drop or raise after ranked battles ended? By how much? Some numbers on players who achieved the three other conditions (kill german, US, IJN) but failed at the russian kills, would also be nice. And making it a hard mission, just so that it is a hard mission, is hardly a good reason. Why did you decide to make the missions so much harder then on the other servers and deny the collectors a reliable chance to gather a full set of those ships? You probably will not have, or tell us, the number of players who collected full sets on the other servers? That would also be a nice comparison. Yes, it is only another clone of a standard tier 7 ship. For some of us that didn't matter. And please don't blame me for asking. One of you guys made that promise about detailed informations.

Step one already includes allowing FB scripts to work. There is no profit in it for me. Only for FB.
-
If I remember correctly, you wanted to provide us with detailed numbers on that mission. This is just a very generic statement and in comparison to the Takao only shows just how hard the mission was to complete. Something we players already told you in several threads over the whole runtime of the event. Will we still get those numbers and informations?

Yes, there is such an option in the settings. You'll find it under Controls. The name is Collision Avoidance System. Just turn it off. -
How the "majority" of non-forum players see RDF/RL

ARP Takao? nah, prepare for the ARP Nachi pain
Egoleter replied to Jvd2000's topic in General Discussion
That number is not how many users played that ship. It is clearly stated as how many recieved it. As it comes from a Wargaming employee I trust that to be an accurate representation of numbers. -
I would have found a different descriptor for that number. Something like "only" or "as few as". Makes you wonder what their target number was. We were told to be given detailed informations, were we not?

ARP Takao? nah, prepare for the ARP Nachi pain
Egoleter replied to Jvd2000's topic in General Discussion
According to this post only somewhat over 15k players got Nachi. Takao has been achieved by three times as many players. Makes you wonder why WG-EU decided to make it such a rare ship on this server. Remember that they told us that the completion rate looked satisfying to them. -
They just started distributing those things. It seems to take some time to get all rewards to the players. Some informations can be found here (in spanish though): http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/71977-barcos-arp/

Yes, ARP flag arrived as well as reserve slots. No sign of the captains.

Why post feedback if you are going to ignore it anyway? All the feedback you need has been posted (by supertesters as well as public tests 1 and 2). You already decided that it doesn't matter what we say. This thread therefore serves no purpose.

0.6.0 New Commander Skills - Frequently Asked Questions
Egoleter replied to Cynd3r's topic in News Archive
If this is a Q&A I'm sure you'll answer further questions and comments. Ok... Why? Lots of those concerns came with details how this 'skill' (sorry, it isn't a skill it is an always on, unlimited range, unprecise, radar module that you can buy with skill points. It has nothing to do with actual skills) will impact gameplay. Did you study those details as well? An educated guess is often all you need. Most of the better players can already make those without this skill. With the skill the guess becomes certainty. The ability to evade no longer includes the ability to engage. Initiative here became totally passive and defensive for the party with the better concealment. The equalizer is just telling you to better abort your attack run. It kills any endgame chance a player might have. There is no equalizer if there is no way to escape. No amount of warnings can help with that. I had no problem fitting it into a build for german BBs and by that turn them into deadly DD hunters. It might work even better on ships like Missouri. The invested cost made the ships almost immune to the class that is supposed to counter them. Totally worth the cost I'd say. Making the life harder for the class that is supposed to counter BBs is also a buff to BBs. Even if the BBs do not take it, it still makes it harder for DDs to perform successfull attack runs. A buff is a buff. If it is a direct buff or not, doesn't matter. You essentially turned everyone into DD hunters with no chance for DDs to counter it. DDs already have a hard time performing well and need a skilled player or lots of luck to make a good impact. Why did you see the need to make their life even harder? What DDs did you intend to hunt with it in the first place? As you mention other DDs as DD hunters as well in previous statements, It leaves only the IJN DDs to be hunted. Those are slow and sluggish and have no chance to escape another DD which is hunting them. Spotting might be frequent but there were plenty of battles where a lone stealthy DD, due to the smaller team sizes, decided the match in the end. This will no longer be possible. If that isn't an impact I have no idea what is. I can't say much about this. I haven't played team battles when they were available. I guess I have to trust your word. I'd rather trust the word of the actual competitive teams who mostly don't like the 'skill'. This has nothing to do with RPF. It addresses nothing in regards to the concerns. That is the only redeeming point about the skill. It is still way to powerfull. If you are asking for feedback but then decide to ignore any and all feedback you get, why ask in the first place?- 49 replies

Just 10k XP more on my Yugumo until I can spam torps from the other end of the map (as useless as it is).
-
Weird. I have done just that on the public test server. And If I didn't score a hit I activated Hydro and pushed into the general direction, and soon after scored hits on the now spotted target. Just because you can't do it, doesn't mean nobody can.

What did everyone get in their 'New Year Special Container'?

Premium time would have been nice. I got 100 Zulu Hotel. -
100 Zulu Hotel flags (it's not like I already had 300 of those and seem to earn them faster then I can use them). For a new player or one who earns fewer rewards certainly a usuable reward. For me personally it was rather

By now I am wondering: Will Hoarder, the achievement where you need to get all other achievements, need a higher completion rate then To The Bottom, which is the second next lowest currently and gold for quite some time?
-
I'm not sure if I should take you serious. DDs completly dominating the gameplay? In which world? Yes, a good DD player can have a large impact on the game. Many DD players are not good, but plenty cruiser and battleship players are not that good either and from that direction come many complaints. If you are to afraid of DDs then you are doing something wrong as there are plenty of counters to them. I have recently tested the skills on german battleships. The result has been devestating for any DD that dared to get close. On higher tiers you can combine that skill with your spotter planes and hydro-accustic search and become near immune to them. If a battleship becomes a DD hunter, hunting the class that is supposed to be the hard counter to BBs, then somewhere balance is screwed way to much against a complete line of ships.
