Teamkiller status from coop mode?
Egoleter replied to InfinityIncarnate's topic in General Discussion
Then why do you refuse to do that? - You are pointing your finger at others. - You refuse to take responsibility. - You didn't pay attention. - You didn't use your common sense. You might want to start acting on your own advice and take responsibilty for what you have done, by stoppping to accuse others, by learning to pay attention for your teammates position, and by starting using your common sense and not drop torps that might endanger a teammate. -
Clash of the Elements Event rigged by WG - magical points to make the losing team seem losing less
Egoleter replied to eliastion's topic in General Discussion
Well... apparently there are indeed some massive lags on this result screen. Just now I had a Kraken game (about 30 minutes ago) and the website still didn't update my counter. Might have something to do with the website logging me out just before the battle. I had to log in once more afterwards. At least I hope that it is just lag. Because if the result is not taken into account, just because the website cookie became invalid, it would be a very poorly designed system. -
https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/community/shipbuilding/ 25 years ago, when I was still building models of all kinds, even had some Star Wars ones showcased in a local store, I would have probably taken part in it. Now I would need to start over and purchase all the materials again. I don't even know if I can still paint the way I did back then.

Teamkiller status from coop mode?
Egoleter replied to InfinityIncarnate's topic in General Discussion
I started to notice that I already have the habit of first looking in my teammates direction when I get a torp warning. Far more often then I would like, they are indeed coming from that direction. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Egoleter replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Nope. Just bad positioning. I fought the Kurfürst and Yamato at less then 5 km distance. I've made a wrong turn and gave them a perfect shot. The HE damage was from smaller calibers. Edit: It is kind of interesting that this topic only appeared so recently. I have always used AP from my BBs to hunt DDs, as I never had the time to switch ammo first. For 15 months I didn't even think that there might be something odd about it. -

Just met _FTD_ in battle. Managed to put a torp into his Hindenburg. In the end his team was more capable then mine, there was only so much I could carry (and boy did I have to carry hard), and they won. -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Egoleter replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Today I achieved a rather elusive result. -
That. I have all the speed boost mods that I need (thanks supercontainers ), the good prices are out of reach, the consumable packages are of no interest to me, so I'll probably end up with some premium time and a few camos for my collection. I'm glad that at least this time all servers are treated the same way and everyone has to grind the same amount.

Wasn't exactly my most glorious battle. Running on ground by accident (which did save me from torps I'd have eaten otherwise), only getting minimum damage hits for most of my shots, spending to much time in a postion where I can't contribute, and finally going with my already damaged Amagi into a close range duell with a Yamato (which I survived and the Yama didn't thanks to you and your division mates). Well... at least it wasn't one of my bad battles either. -
Bitte schwächt Torpedos und HE Granaten ab.
Egoleter replied to mocbo's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
Damit wären wir dann endgültig bei World or Battleships angelangt. -
Please use the dedicated discussion thread if you want to comment on the informations posted here. You can find it if you follow this link: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/56433-discussion-thread-for-some-interesting-info-from-ru/ It's kinda sad that this reminder needs to be posted after every third informational post.

Did you even follow the thread or did you just jump in, without taking note of previous posts, to make your complaints about AFK players once more? How you are supposed to report them can be found in my previous replies in this thread. And that's the last direct reply you will ever see from my end. Just like Wargaming does. You might want to actually read those rules and understand that there is already an ingame punishment and an extra one for those who are reported through the portal who do it repeatedly and intentionally.
-
It's interesting as I see very few players wanting harder punishment for AFKs. You are in the minority, you just didn't realize it yet. And I have the tendency to say what I think even in public, even while I am in minority with my opinion, because most people are not mindless brutes who would punch others in their face because they have a different viewpoint. I'm standing up for others here because I do it in real life as well. You just want to be right. You want everyone to conform to your rules. You are the brute with a minority opinion here and the sad part is you don't even realize it. I told you before: You are not the authority who can tell others what they can or can't do in this game. Wargaming is. Wargaming has set up their punishment. Most players seem to agree with that. A few, like you and the OP, don't. Matter of fact, as I repeated several times in this thread already, if someone AFKs repeatedly and intentionally you can report them to Wargaming and they will investigate the issue. Because non-participation is a violation of their game rules. So if you want something done against those who do it intentionally, step up and do your work and report them. But don't be surprised that if you start crying wolf all to often they might stop listening to your reports. This is not a game for a few hardcore gamers. It is a game for casuals and hardcore players alike and Wargaming needs to keep both sides comfortable. They will never punish someone for issues outside of the gaming realms. The sooner you start to accept it the better.

An important announcement for all BB captains
Egoleter replied to tenacious_torps's topic in General Discussion
It's always nice to see how some players want to tell all the others how they are supposed to play the game. You know... it is very hard for a BB to push. Once it is commited there is almost no way back. More often then not a pushing BB will get no support from the cruisers and DDs in their team. Those cruisers and DDs demand such a push but are more often then not unwilling to be a part of it themself. I love brawling in my BBs but if I am alone, with the nearest allied cruiser hiding 10+ kilometers away behind an island or in a smoke cloud, then it is wasted effort. Yes, there are BBs who camp at the part of the map that is the furthest from the battle zone. Not every BB player does that though. Most play their ships at medium ranges or push a flank. Claims like 90 % of them are just unconstructive drivel and insult a large part of the player base. So here is an important message to all those who think they have an important message for others: Your opinion is welcome but it is just that. It is not even remotely as important as you may think. -
You must be a very lonely person if that is the case. I live by myself. Yet even I have from time to time unexpected phone calls, door bells ringing, or other issues calling me away from the game. You know... neighbours, work, real life friends and family and all that. They all have a much higher priority then any time schedule I may have set up for WoWs. If I had friends who gave a time schedule for a game a higher priority then their real life then I would politly suggest to them to get a therapy.

Spotted by a plane? Spotted by radar? Maybe spotted by someone you didn't even notice? Without a replay we can't tell but a cheat like that would be very hard to do, as it essentially needs a hack of Wargamings servers to work.
-
WieczoremZubr, if real life goes over the game then no, not all AFKs are bad. Sorry but you are starting to contradict yourself there. It is either one or the other and in one case you are taking a game way to seriously. (slightly changed from the Ferengi rules of acquisition) A game is a game is a game... but only between gamers. I guess if this is more then a game for you and if it takes precedence over real life, then the one with a problem is you and you alone.
-
Ok... there is a question in there and I'll answer it (even though this thread is normally just for WG employees to answer). Sorry, but ST is just a fancy title on the forums. Except for getting access to new ships before anyone else does, as well as a few other tasks, I'm just a normal player like you. I have as much influence as you do. Same goes for the ST-Coordinators. They are also just normal players. @Mr. Conway The next time you make a promise for a specific date or timeframe and you can't make it, would it be to much to ask to at least inform us that you couldn't make it? Something like this? "I am sorry but I couldn't make it today. I will post the answers at the next possible opportunity." That wouldn't take long and helps a lot, as it is already one big step in the direction of "better communication".

So you are willing to adjust the number, yet you didn't address the rest of my post. - You wanting to punish everyone for a few bad apples. - You apparently being unwilling to act yourself in the form of screenshots and tickets send to support if you believe someone is doing it intentionally. - All the problems your suggested punishment will bring. For me it looks like you want to use a sledgehammer while a fine brush would be more appropriate.
-
There already is a light punishment. No income, no XP, and actual loss in ingame currency due to the repiar bill. Anything more then that and we move into the hard punishment regions. And just because the loss is no big deal for you, doesn't mean that it is the same for everyone else. Losing 2000, XP like it has been suggested in this thread, can be a very hard punishment or one barely noticable. As a fix number It will not scale with the tier you are playing at, while losing a few hundred thousend silver at tier 10 is nothing to laugh at. It comes with complicated issues, like what happens if the players doesn't have that much XP on his ship? Will he lose modules? Will he lose access to the ship? Will he lose player rank and therefore game functionality? Will he lose progress to the next container? There are so many things tied to XP that such a punishment is a really big issue to implement and a very severe punishment for the player if he has real life issues to attend to. Real life always has priority over a game. You wouldn't want to contest that simple statement, or do you? And all those complications and punishments for mostly innocents, because you can't be bothered to make a screenshot and write a ticket?

Is there a reason why you are not posting with that account? No, the idea of general punishment for AFK players is bad. We had it in all kind of forms, ranging from players not connecting (in person or in the technical meaning) at all, players not connecting in time for battle, and everything in between. It all boils down to this: Being AFK is most often not the choice of the player. Being rewarded with zero XP, no income, and a repair bill for the ship is enough of a punishment already for this issue. The few rare occasions where a player is activly trying to avoid to perform any action, by botting or simple refusal to play, are already covered by the rules set up by Wargaming and you can report those with a ticket to support.
