    Upgraded torps have longer range and more damage, why not use them? Btw, AFT is working really well for me on Clemson. I may not use CE on Clemson as didn't find it particularly useful on Farraggut. Might take survival expert or demo expert instead.

    I'm a newb please help?

    1) Think there is a tutorial video for this, certainly a YouTube video explaining. I don't have time to go into it fully but it's situational based on what you're sailing and what you're shooting at. 2) Personal preference, I'd play a mix of all at the beginning, reminding that some lines see significant changes to play style as you progress. 3) I would say no, not until you've reached T5 at least. Low tier premiums don't generate much and it's a (very) bad idea to play a premium higher if you haven't got used to game play at higher tiers. 4) Play and have fun, if you don'y enjoy a ship, stop playing for a while and run with something different. Go back later, it's a good idea to play all varieties, that way you get an idea of what you're up against and how to counter it.

    I've tried the Farragut and even with CE skill it's not great in ranked, as said earlier, I wish I could take the Clemson.

    Same for me, both battles this morning the same. I installed PT last night, thought it might be that but looks like it's a wider problem than that, maybe GNB weekend causing it?

    First battle with AFT was going swimmingly until I ate 2 torps from a "friendly" Tenryu! Onwards and upwards.

    This captain will most likely stay on the Clemson, so yeah, was thinking AFT might be the way to go. As you say, my higher tier US DDs have DE. I don't mind spending a bit of gold so no major damage done if it doesn't work out.

    Yes, obviously cheating . I got detonated in my Fletcher a couple of days ago, single shell from a Hatsu, very annoying (not to mention expensive) but did I come crying cheat? Or did it persuade me to hoist a flag on my high tier DDs?

    I was accused of cheating yesterday, happens now and again. Apparently when a Furutaka is sat broadside on to an Aoba at 8km and gets ripped a new one, the Aoba is obviously cheating.

    wait time,

    On my previous laptop it would take up to 2 mins (not every time) to load in so I would miss the first minute or so,very annoying in a DD in domination. New laptop loads almost instantly but I have no problem waiting a minute to start the battle, better that than half a team missing.

    I just can't win

    92 games in the Fletcher and 40% win rate, I couldn't be more depressed. I had an abysmal start (20-40 games) but stats are improving (damage, kills, exp) but win rate is deteriorating if anything. Such a comedown after thoroughly enjoying the Benson.

    One team kill gets you 5 battles in pink. If you do any friendly damage, including collisions, it gets extended.

    So what ships to use? I'd got the Benson all prepped for ranked, at the expense of training a new captain when I unlocked Fletcher. Drop back to Mahan or maybe the Hatsu? I'm thinking Warspite is a good choice for the T5-6 battles. Colorado or Nagato worth a punt? I've unlocked the Colorado but not bought, I could complete the Fuso grind in a few days. 9 days to plan this so time is on my side unless Shchors is worth it, only at T4 with that line.

    Simple solution, don't loose torps when there is any chance they could hit a friendly. That way they won't detonate when they hit a friendly.

    Sailing While Drunk, Like a Real Sailor

    Saturday evening I came home early from a wedding reception and decided it was a great idea to test out my fresh New Orleans. It wasn't but my drunken brain told me to keep on trying, it didn't get any better. The stats on that ship will take a while to recover after that session.

    Fletcher gun range

    The stock range is more than enough and you can invisi-fire without CE. Don't go for range on the slot 3 upgrade either, torp reload is better. I really struggled stepping up from Benson but a lot is to do with higher quality opponents and the differing game play. I'd say it took nearly 50 battles before I got a real feel for the Fletch.

    Level of fun / enjoyment lately (in past 3+ GNB weeks)...

    Seen a fair few AFK and a few strange decisions but I've enjoyed the last 3+ weeks. I've played all across the tiers so seen a fair spread, I've only got the carrier mission left to complete so my level of enjoyment will drop until that's done but only as I am useless in CVs.

    Tip for First Premium Ship

    I made a major mistake in getting the Atago when I had only progressed to a T6 ship and got massacred in top tier matches, you quite often see T10 battles. I then made the same mistake with the Saipan, probably only taken her out 5 times. Since then got the Warspite, she's my favorite BB, improved secondary module and AFT gives your secondaries 7.2km range and puts most DDs at high risk to try a torp run on you. Tirpitz is fun but can and will end up in some very challenging matches. Texas I love, purely for the AA cover. Based on my experience, I agree with earlier posts, don't jump to a high tier Premium without grinding to that level, it will generally end in tears primarily due to the difference in play style and quality of your opponents.

    New Orleans - CitadelHits

    Just got the NO, 4 games in not one citadel hit. I'm 99% sure I'm hitting the correct spot but not one big boom. I thought the guns were the same as the Pensacola but slightly harder hitting. First 2 games were in tier 8-10 and did below average damage but ok, new stock ship. 3rd game tier 6-8 and some division had brought along a Furutaka which I met along with a Cleveland, both broadside on from 5km, I reckon I put 12 good hits on the Furu, nothing, over-pen maybe. Same on the Cleveland, again nothing. I was awful in the Pepsi to begin with but by the end of the grind had found it a decent ship to play although mistakes were (rightly) treated with brutal justice. I think the transition to NO would be fairly straightforward but not if I don't ever hit a citadel. Is this just RNG lucking me out or is the NO a tough beast to master?

    I was under the impression Britain won the Battle of Jutland. Both sides had objectives, Britain met hers, Germany didn't. Yes Britain lost more ships, but the Germans ran for port and never came out again.

    Okey seriously im pink after 1 accident

    I got my first pink today, hit a friendly Hatsu with a stray torp at 10km, absolutely fair enough. The new update tells me I have 5 games to play clean, again fair enough. However, in game 5 I'm sat in smoke on the edge of a cap, and I mean sat stationary, when a St Louis steams into me, the warning against me comes up in chat and I'm not able to clear my TK status. Not only that, he pushed and turned me out of the smoke where I was promptly torn apart.That, surely, is not a fair way to run the TK system?

    Thanks for the feedback. T_H_O_R. Currently a 12 point skipper in her with (1) SA, (2) EM, IFA, (3) VIG, (4) AFT. What hook up would you recommend? What do you recommend for upgrades, currently I'm set up as: 1) MBM1 2) Empty but was thinking AAGM2, was going to do a few more battles before decision, GFCSM1 could be useful too but accuracy doesn't seem an issue on first impression. 3) DCSM1 4) Empty, though probably rudder, I was going to wait and see how the B hull performed before committing 5) CSM1

    Torpedo arming distance

    I work offshore and to be honest it's really hard to tell how close or far away objects at sea are, other rigs / ships etc. A rig that appears 1km away is actually 3km. A ship you think is pretty close (almost colliding) is actually 500-1000m away. Although if you're referring to the mini map, yes scaling is way off, guess it's cause the ship icons are magnified.

    I agree, as a DD driver it's a nightmare when there are too many DDs, it's not just BBs that suffer from MM.

    Your SA warning activates, torps start heading your way. Hunt the DD, you know roughly what direction it's in as that's where the torps came from and in a cruiser one of your primary jobs is to hunt DDs. Even if you don't sight it, chances are you'll spook it and protect your BBs. Even better if you manage to get it to fire it's guns, unless it's stealth firing you've then got 20secs to waste it. If MM gives you 1:5 DDs, chances are you have 5:1 DD killers (cruisers).
