Agreed.

This is interesting. I think there would have to be some kind of a threshold as well. For example, there have been occasions where I am in the scope and I do not realize that I'm about to pass by a much taller ship. Say I'm in a DD and I pass by a BB at close range. My shells have landed in their super structure and caused, minor, but damage. It was a complete accident, but in that scenario, with no previous history of TK'ing, I'm not sure that would work well. Another example would be a bad decision on torps. It's not on purpose, yes a poor decision, but not intentional. The only true solution to TK'ing is to remove friendly damage completely, but that takes away an element of the game. I also understand why WG doesn't just ban these players. They'll just create another account and be right at it again. You can't just ban the problem away which is most likely why no significant actions happen right now to TK'ers.

I read a post the other day from the devs that they are working on a different smoke rendering model that will allow it to be more obvious that you are in smoke. The problem is frame rate right now with the current smoke textures. Showing more smoke means you get really poor frame rates. Not sure when this is coming, but they are aware of it and will be doing something in the future. I'll try to find the post today.

Which year are you planning to sort out the ctrl key problem?
Jammin411 replied to Columbus_Columbonius's topic in General Discussion
I think I might agree with DJ_Die on this one, sounds like you have another application running that might be taking control of the CTRL key. I've had similar issues when I was using various keys to start screen capture software. Couldn't figure out why it kept breaking things until I realized the key was being captured by another application instead of the WoWs client. -
While we waiting for the much to finish,it would be cool if we could explore the bottom of the ocean...

It wouldn't be a complete game without them, but I do not want to see them in-game. I think we're good without them. Want to play a sub, play a DD instead. It's basically the same gameplay. -
Yes, you are correct that I left the WG side of this rather open. The reason I did this is because I do have a lot of plans in the future to expand the site. Things like your stats overall and in specific ships, clans that you belong to so we could do some kind of a leader board, etc. I'll revisit them today to see if there is anything that I can shave off the list without compromising features I have planned. I understand your concern, trust me, security and privacy is very important. What I can tell you is that WG does not give out ANY personal information. I don't even get your email address when you login. All of the data exposed is 100% WG related and in-game related. Here are my responses to your feedback. Keep it coming! I'll do whatever I can to make the site a better place for you all. Right now yes, I used to restrict it by IP address, but that left some people unable to vote due to bad IP addresses being reported due to some ISP's and VPN's. I am going to change this so you have to be logged in to vote to help reduce the amount of abuse it receives. This is coming soon, but for now, I manually watch it to ensure it's not receiving a thousand votes at a time. This is a feature that I hope to have rolled out this weekend, maybe Monday. If you are featured in the replay I will give you the ability to edit it via your account page. This is displayed between the thumbs up and thumbs down icons. This is a great suggestion, I will add it to a future build. You can see this if you login to the system. It will show you the replays you have uploaded as well as those that involve you. IE: Games someone else uploaded but you played in. Unfortunately the server is not included in the replay data right now. The replays are very basic right now and a lot of this data is not included yet. I wanted to include a lot more detail on the site, but it is currently impossible due to it simply not existing in the replay files.

By popular demand I have added a feature today that will allow you to upload your battle results along with the replay file. The system allows you to upload three images, one for each battle results screen, along with your replay file. Please be patient if you do upload images as I do compress them in real-time so it does slow the upload process down just a bit. I know this solution is not perfect and it would be best to strip the data from the replay files, but it is unfortunately not currently saved in the replays. I've been working with the Wargaming team lately to come up with a solution, but it's not currently an option. Until it is, be sure to screenshot your results so the world can see your scores! Hope you all enjoy! WoWReplays.com

Thank you, definitely plan to. Still have a lot more features in the pipeline.

Thanks, appreciate it! Hope you enjoy!

Not yet, I am working on that functionality. Giving you the ability to edit replays that belong to you, but doesn't exist yet. If you send me the images via email and the replay they belong to I'll post them for you though.

Thank you, hope you like the site. I have a new feature coming out tonight, I hope, that will allow you to comment on videos and carry conversations. This weekend I'm going to add the ability to pin screenshots to a match so you can show off your damage, achievements, etc. It's getting there.

There are some good guides on this and videos, but in my experience it is best to pop smoke and immediately come to a full stop inside it. If you are moving it makes it easy to outrun the smoke or accidentally move outside of it. A tactic that I employ often is popping smoke and then firing my guns out of the smoke. You'll stay undetected and it gives you the opportunity to do some supplemental damage by potentially causing fires. Just be careful to stop firing long before your smoke clears as you will be detected easier while firing. Best advice I can give though is to not outrun your smoke.

I appreciate the offers for the older clients, but at the rate the new uploads come in now there is not a huge need for them. I am only able to do a small percentage of the total replays uploaded now so having an older client would most likely be a loss on me. I am looking into automating the replay to video conversion though and if that goes well I may take you up on this offer for older clients. I still have a lot of coding to do to make that work properly on a large scale.

Thank you sir, appreciate the support.

Killquest ruin the average players game experience
Jammin411 replied to zgrssd's topic in General Discussion
I like how you pointed out that T10 players are encouraged to play lower levels and just dominate. I'll admit it, I do like to play low level matches every now and then, not to seal club, but rather because of the in your face action that comes along with lower tiers. Maps are smaller, ships don't do as much damage, and you can generally have a lot of fun duking it out. Upper tiers turn into long range battles and somewhat favors the ships with a longer range. I'm rambling now, I like that you brought up a valid point about higher tier players potentially running off lower tiered players in an attempt to complete the missions. A valid point I feel. -
Killquest ruin the average players game experience
Jammin411 replied to zgrssd's topic in General Discussion
Those are good suggestions. I like the number of citadels. Would push more players to play big ships like BB's and such. XP over # of games is good as well. So I also assume you are ok with the missions of kill X number of planes or score X number of torpedo hits? -
I haven't heard of this happening to anyone either on the EU or NA forums. Wish I could be of more assistance here, but might think about opening a ticket for support with Wargaming. https://eu.wargaming.net/support/

This is Hardcore mode. Flips the screen at a random angle every 30 seconds.

Killquest ruin the average players game experience

I'm curious what types of missions you all would like to see? Kill challenges could go either way, but curious how you would solve the "problem". -
What if ammo capacity is limited as WoT?
Jammin411 replied to TheSoulCollector's topic in General Discussion
I'm not sure this mechanic would work well in this game. I have thought about limiting the number of torpedoes a ship could carry, but limiting the actual amount of shells would be a rough addition to the game. BB's would be able to fire the entire match with no concerns while a ship like the Atlanta would run out 5 minutes into the match. I wouldn't mind a game mode where this was available though, but it would need to be completely optional. Call it Hardcore or Realistic mode. -
I'm not sure I follow your logic that torps should disappear again after being spotted. Think real-life here. If we spot torpedoes in the water 2km out and we know their speed, why couldn't we continue spotting them? Simple math would allow a ship captain to accurately track the torps in the water. I think that the other thing to keep in mind is that planes are only in the air for short periods and have a really long cool down. I usually launch a plane about 3-5 minutes into a match and then I don't get another until around 10-12 minutes depending upon when I actually launched. I for one think this aspect of the game is really good the way it is right now. Curious what everyone else thinks though.

New premium DD to be ROCN "Lo Yang" (Benson class)
Jammin411 replied to RoyalColor's topic in General Discussion
I'm so glad to see more ships coming to the game. I love the diversity and can't wait to see how players find unique and creative ways to play them. -
I believe this is a 1:1 ratio so if you earn 3000xp in a match your captain also earns 3000xp. This is assuming you are not retraining and you do not have the 50% penalty applied during this period.

I wish that I did, however I only started the site around 0.5.2ish so I only have the latest client available. I will do my best to keep working copies of the game as we roll up in versions. Curious why it's a hard time to have a site like this?

To expand on this as well. You run a much higher chance of over-penetration as well. You shells go in one side and out the other without doing any damage to anything significant. The higher the caliber of gun the higher the chance of over-penetration. It's not that you can't damage a destroyer using AP, it's just more practical to use HE and guarantee damage to the ship and components.
