Karlsruhe was definitely cursed for me, as was Hermelin. Wickes, on the other hand, was a blessed ship. Fuso and New York both suffered from an early curse, but are now both badasses that bring good results.

How much money have you guys spent on the game?
Agantas replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
I'm a free player. Haven't spent anything on the game. -
Maybe we could also have some saugages and marshmallows to roast at the campfire?
-
Sell the hotel and go back to tier 5.

Should premium ships be banned once and for all from competitive modes?
Agantas replied to OVanBruce's topic in Archive
Perhaps it would be good if all ships had competition captains that you could respec for free? It would only work in competion modes and the captain would have fixed amount of stat points. Every ship would have its own competition mode captain with same amount of points (there would be no need or option to transfer competition captains). This would certainly help in making the competition aspect of the game fair. -
There is a difference between Free to Play and 100% Free. There is a very long discussion thread about meaning of the word free in Topmudsites. The difference is that Free to Play games may contain purchasable in-game content, while 100% Free games do not contain purchasable in-game content (they do accept donations from players, though). Some of the oldest still running MMOs are 100% Free. And yes, the devs of those games are often unpaid volunteers who develop the game as their hobby.

It is probably because someone had to sit a long time in queue, so MM threw a match for him with less ships, since that's what was available.

When will we be able to sell arpeggio ships ?
Agantas replied to Goer12's topic in General Discussion
Yes, that's one captain taking a slot, not captains taking slots. So Fritz is either exaggerating the problem with his plural or hasn't assigned the captains to their ships. So assigning the captains either mitigates or solves the problem, depending of number of ARP missions completed. I have only one Hiei captain, but without her ship, so I too have more captain than ships. I would prefer ARP captains having separate slots over removing the Hiei captain. -

Go to Yokosuka port and check that you have commanders assigned to each ARP ship. -
Spotting Damage - only in WoT, NOT in WoWS
Agantas replied to SFCGunny313's topic in General Discussion
Since OP is hasn't given very specific details about the spotting damage mechanics, I'll bite. I don't know how they do it in Tanks and don't expect other people to know that either. To people who claim that DDs don't need more xp I say, yes, but do you need DDs and CVs spotting enemies for you? Because very often it is so that they don't give a damn about spotting for others. When I'm driving BBs and CA's, I do hope someone would spot targets for me. I also like knowing what lies ahead, so that I can plan my actions in advance. This is how I think it should work: Spotting damage When player A shoots a ship that he doesn't detect, the same amount of damage is counted as spotting damage, which is then divided between ships that spot the target. Spotting ribbons When player A shoots a ship that he doesn't detect, the ship spotting the target is awarded a ribbon for spotting. If there are multiple ships spotting the target, all the ships are awarded a ribbon for assisting in spotting. A ribbon for spotting for a frag is also a possibility. Example scenarios: Players A, B and C are in green team. Player X is in red team. Scenario 1: Player A does not see player X. Player B sees player X, spotting him for the team. Player C is elsewhere and not part of scenario 1. -Player A fires a salvo at player X and scores 10000 damage. Player B earns 10000 spotting damage and a ribbon for 'spotting'. -Player B fires a salvo at player X and scores 2000 damage. No spotting damage is awarded to anyone since player B already spots the target. Scenario 2: Player A does not see player X. Players B and C see player X, spotting him for the team. -Player A fires a salvo at player X and scores 10000 damage. Players B and C earn 5000 spotting damage each and a ribbon for 'assisting in spotting'. -Player B fires a salvo at player X and scores 2000 damage. No spotting damage is awarded to anyone since player B already spots the target. The value of spotting damage would be weighed similarly by target's HP as actual damage is. In this system, the total amount of spotting damage awarded is always less (or equal) than the total amount actual damage dealt to the enemy team. -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Agantas replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
First Clear Sky achievement ever, with 34 planes shot down. The ship that got it was Cleveland. It really has been a good day in WOWS. Here's the replay: http://wowreplays.com/Replay/4567-Agantas-Cleveland-Two-Brothers -
-You need Situational Awareness captain perk to know you are detected. -You can switch on the alternative battle interface by pressing ALT key or from Settings/Controls in your options menu.

Two BB krakens in a row (5 kills with Fuso, then 6 kills with New York). Replays here: http://wowreplays.com/Replay/4527 http://wowreplays.com/Replay/4529 -
Currently there is always someone whose game hasn't loaded by the time beginning counter ends. In the loading screen when the timer is still going on, you can see which players have fully loaded and which haven't. The long loading times will be adressed in 0.5.5 or whatever that patch was called. You should wait for 0.5.5 and see how that improves the situation in the beginning of the battle before asking for AFKing sanctions.

Contests/competitions on the EU Server in 2016, has WG-EU given up?
Agantas replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
I'll point out that there is an ongoing gunboat destroyer guide contest: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/49342-gunboat-destroyer-guide-contest/ -
There are multiple channels matching the description. Please add the name of the person who started the channel into the OP.

Russian Battleships will come with 890mm Tsar Cannons equipped. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsar_Cannon

Almost had a single-cruiser game as my last game in Aoba. There was a Fuso on our side in addition to the cruisers in the game.
-
Bragging rights. This Gnevny game gave me +1 karma (I now have total of 8, it grows slowly): http://wowreplays.com/Replay/4127 Probably due to using smoke screen to cover the retreat of a friendly Omaha who went past the northern cape alone in Solomon Islands.

While every captain is responsible for his own torps, not blocking the torping paths of friendly destroyers is a good idea.
-
Maybe it is the direction his guns are pointing towards?

Is it possible that without Premium account you loose money when playing?
Agantas replied to Ilanh's topic in Newcomers' Section
It does happen in tier 7. Your repair costs are around 50k-60k credits if your ship sinks at tier 7. Then add the price of camo on top of that. As for tier 6 or below, are you using expensive consumables in your ship? -
If you want to nitpick about the spelling, it is Yūdachi, not Yudachi. The line over the vowel signifies a long vowel. The actual correct spelling is in the Japanese script and translitterations may vary. OP's Yuudachi is one option in my opinion (with the double u signifying a long vowel in this case, like it does in Finnish).

I'm sad to hear that the Spanish aircraft were not to your liking. Perhaps you could buy them from another country next time.
-
How else would you counter the big mass of aircraft and protect your team from taking the damage from them? People can always not fly their aircraft in one big clump or try to evade strafe by dispersing when fighters get near.
