If you had to pick either Tachibana or Smith and not have the other, which would you prefer to keep?

It is always lovely when the BB misses his aim, but one shell disperses wildly and citadels the target cruiser anyway.

Can you upload some replays/videos of the ship gameplay? I'd be interested in seeing videos of these new ships. It would help in deciding which ship to get, as I likely can't pick multiple ships.

So my 59088 damage Kawachi replay didn't count for some reason? It was meant for the contest. Et Lanatus Baro did only 41001 damage in his replay. Stay calm, analyze the situation and remember what Trigger Happy Dad taught you about good torpedo angles. Also, torpedo acceleration on captain is nice. I'm not a great CV player (and thought the same way about the 25 kills) either but still managed 9 kills in two games today (and 7 in the 10 games). I have the same problem of staying spotted after SA goes off (SA goes off when I should get unspotted, but for some reason don't), but people shoot accurately 2-3 salvos at my DD still. Seems to happen every time I get spotted and go to hide again. So now, instead of just getting out of spotting range, I have to flee to much farther in the back. And since the spotting time is so long now, there is a good chance that I've attracted the red CV's attention. If I try to pop smoke to cover my retreat, people fire accurately into the smoke. It feels like smoke in IJN DDs is practically useless as an escape cover, since people just see through it during the most critical time it needs to be effective. I don't know how to play concealment-dependent DDs when the game is like this. My Minekaze stays in port until this is fixed. Personally, I don't think it is related to firing guns, since I see this effect even when I don't shoot them. People shoot at you after you get unspotted for a while still, with those 1-3 salvos coming at you. They can't all be blind fire. These days, if I get spotted when playing my Hatsuharu, I shoot at the spotter. If this is intended, it is a huge nerf to DDs. When I play other ships, I see visible DDs much more often than before, without seeing the reason why they are visible.

There, I subscribed to your Youtube channel for the contest (I have no idea how you verify that, since my Youtube name isn't same as the name here). I'm planning to participate with Kawachi and Ognevoi in this week's contest. I already uploaded one Kawachi replay, with 59k damage done. A nice game with 5 DDs on both sides. I was dancing in the Umikaze torps during it and fighting the Umikazes at close range (also kudos to TomTomOne for playing a Kraken+High Caliber+Confederate+Arsonist+Double Strike game).

Does the game need to be played during the contest week in question?

Japanese DDs are stealth torpedo boats with weak guns and Soviet DDs are gunboats with very short torpedo range. Soviet DDs rarely use their torpedoes and Japanese DDs rarely use their guns. I suggest that you try both. It doesn't take that long to elite a tier 2 ship and unlock the tier 3 one.

When the damage control party consumable (R key) is active (green color with timer), it immediately puts out fires, floods and repairs other broken stuff. If you set them on fire during yellow timer, they have to wait out either the yellow timer or the fire.

I think I have most influence on winning or losing a World of Warships match when I use: BB or DD. I think good CV has the potential to be the most influential player. I'm not good at playing CV's though. The ship class which I consider my most dangerous opponent in World of Warships: Depends of what I'm playing. Based on my in game experience, the country which I think has the best destroyer(s) in World of Warships: Japan. Torpedo boats have more unique niche than gunboats. Based on my in game experience, the country which I think has the best cruisers in World of Warships: Hard to name the best. Based on my in game experience, the country which I think has the best battleship(s) in World of Warships:Difficult to say. Like Aoba, Furutaka has the great Japanese gun arc. Furutaka may be more difficult than other tier 5 cruisers, but it does not have inaccurate guns. I have 30% accuracy with the ship, which is better than the 20%ish accuracy I have with Königsberg and Omaha. AS for the turret configuration, three guns will bring to bear in a reasonable time if you switch broadsides for some reason (3 turn around bow (1,2,4), 3 turn around aft(3,5,6)), while the rest will require preturning to be effective. Japanese heavy cruisers have easier time hitting the target due to their superior gun arc and AP hits citadel in good angle to penetrate from a longer distance. This allows cruisers like Aoba to have longer effective fighting distance than cruisers like Cleveland.
