Sisters of Fog, Stage 1 done, no ship in port.
slingerpig replied to Finplayer321's topic in Off-Topic
I thought the mission had to be fully completed to get the premium ship. First part is x amount damage second part x amount of hits third x amount damage and last x amount of hits. Problem is that halfway through you need at least tier seven ship to qualify... -
I think much of the notoriety of both bismark and tirpitz is more due to ww2 brittish propaganda than to their combat effectiveness or tactical usefullness. Probably this was also the reason why the regime back then didn t invest money or time in them, instead diverting most of their resources to the luftwaffe. (Graf zeppelin: kiel laid, stopped. Tirpitz turrets, stopped) also some kriegsmarine officers did not really like a.h. and vice versa adding to the lack of investment. Most other navies have a good line of "tiers" leading to their tier ten ship, bismark/tirpitz line seems to have a few missing links. all in all it doesn't seem that unlogical to me to have us and ijn first, ships enough, big battles enough, no missing tiers, this also goes for rn but someone posted above the problems with them. I could be wrong, but apart from these 3 there's just small naval forces.

It would be fun to have something along the lines of an escort vs raiding force scenario to play. perhaps with bots as victory class ships... Perhaps interesting to see ships of different classes and nations in the role they were designed for. i dont think german cruisers were designed for the scale of fleet action that is the standard in WOWs games and i assume they would perform better in smaller scale games.

I just realised that the title of this topic pretty accurately describes the historical situation of the german navy in ww2.

Unless you like hybrid technology, late war german u boats are very energy efficient. the tirpitz was also very energy efficient in its own special way...

It would be nice to see crazy ships like habakkuk in the game too, not just crazy german ones.

On a side note, i was surprised to not find the royal brittish navy when i first played the game. As they were present in every period and stages of the second world war, in both hemispheres, unlike the kriegsmarine, where the focus was on commerce raiding in the north sea and small actions in the baltic sea, and uboat actios in the north atlantic ocean.

Having played a lot of WOT and just a little WOW, i expect the makers of this game will eventually add even prototype ships, ships of wich only the kiel was laid and ships that only existed in blueprint. They did so in WOT in any case. as for historically accurate, it would probably be better to get into tabletop strategy games, some of these are a lot better at depicting actual historical situations and ships by for instace using the date of the conflict being played. WOW is more fun based howeverer, unless anyone would like to solo the bismarck for instance.
