    Maybe just the feeling of power when launching 15 torpedoes... Once IJN where very attractive due to being able to stealth launch torps with long range and high damage, and the Shima was the pinnacle of this type of ships.

    Ouais le jour où je verrais les 155mm secondaires du Yamato faire une citadelle sur un croiseurs, hum, je joue 5000€ en courses de chevaux direct après. Je suis sceptique comme une fosse pour le double avion aussi, mais il n'y a rien de vraiment utile au lvl1 pour un commandant de Yamato... Vigilance pour moi n'est utile que si tu le couples avec le module de détection... Et ce n'est pas mon build actuel Je suis assez content de Fire Prevention ! Un bon buff de survivabilité est toujours bon à prendre !

    L'ognevoi aura à priori des torpilles avec 10km de portée à 56 nœuds, 2 triple lanceurs et 69 secondes de reload, ce qui est plutôt décent à mon avis. Ca le positionne à peu près au même niveau que le Z23 (avec canons de 128mm), et il utilisera plus souvent ses torpilles que ses canons c'est sur...

    Graf Spee (T6)

    ​En offensif il marche très très bien, ses canons sont assez précis et déboitent les croiseurs assez facilement (mais il n'y a que 6 obus par volée....). Tu peux le jouer comme le Scharnhorst, c'est à dire comme un croiseur lourd, tu vas viser les croiseurs ennemis en priorité et contre les cuirassés ben tu feras moyennement des dégâts avec tes canons... Pour ma part en compétence de commandants il a : Preventive maintenance (pour garder les tourelles et les lances torpilles en état plus souvent ^^), Adrenaline Rush (très bon skill quand tu as un reload de plus de 15 secondes), Superintendant et Fire prevention pour tanker un peu plus.

    Yeah saw the video too ^^ Anyway I always considered using the 12km torps with Topredo Acceleration, you have a 10km torp which is standard now in all Destroyers (except the Gearing...). I use the F3 in my Yugumo right now with somewhat mitigated results. Maybe by the time I unlock the Shima the IJN DD will be changed again ^^ (maybe a bit of buff ?)

  8. Yeah, those are not bad upgrades overall (albeit the Spotter plane upgrade, really ?), but the ones already existing are so much important... Put all the new upgrades in the 3rd slot, that's actually the most useless slot.

  10. I hope they'll keep the first ranks "T6 only", actually I would like to continue playing T6 only games even when ranked higher ! I see a lot of Scharn and smoked Fiji and Belfast coming, so i'll play my shiratsuyu and torp these smokes ^^

    On the other hand, i like to have a little imbalance in the game, and if someday all the batlles have fixed numbers of BBs and Cruisers and DDs, same tier, or same performance, the game will be very boring. There are some ships that are underperforming yes, but it's a ship problem and I don't want to manipulate the MM to compensate for the bad performance of a ship.
  12. Well the Grozovoi seems to be a very good ship, maybe too good... I'll maybe re-purchase the Udaloi, grind some points for a new captain in the expectation of this ship ^^

    I don't play CV much, the UI is not very great for micro-managing and even with 4-5 squadrons i struggle with it. But the most important part that discourage me to play CV is the AA efficiency of all the ships in the game, and the fact that you're always mirrored with another CV. For those who played Alpha or Beta, when there were only 1 CV sometimes per side and no CV in the opposing team, was the match so imbalanced ? Sometimes in random fights when by chance I don't encounter enemy CV planes (either he's on the other end of the map or he's afk/killed) it's hard to deal decent damage with the amount of AA one basic ship has. The defensive fire consumable should be tweaked IMHO, instead of adding AA DPS AND panic, the consumable should add panic AND lower DPS. There should be commander skills to reduce the panic effects or buffing planes HP more
  14. ​Not entirely true, the Messenger (more "The way the message is delivered") is important in communication, if you have the right answer but you're a giant douche when talking to others or you're sarcastic, ppl tend to be angry at you and automatically rejects your words. Back on topic, when I play DD I never go alone on a capzone, if my team is a potato and decide to sail parallely at 15km of the caps, I stay in front of them but I don't push. Also when there're let's say 3 DDs and 3 capzones, I prefer going in a cap with one of my fellow DD instead of "one DD for each cap", especially if i'm a gunboat and i can escort an IJN DD.

    I have an idea for upping the German DDs concerning the smoke : Make that the smoke is instant, you don't have to wait for the first puff to be hidden. This way you can at least head towards an enemy smoke and hydro it while using your own smoke in the same time. Otherwise, as i don't intend to use stealth fire, the nerfed german HE and detection bloom is not a big problem imho

    Well I see your point about don't want to be up front every time because ppl tend to stay in the back or just sail in a parallel way to the caps.... But it's random, sometimes you have decent team who advance together to get the caps, sometimes not, sometimes you have 2 afk and 2 suicides DDs going straight in the enemy line. The best way to have a decent game is to division with 1 or 2 other ships and play together, you won't be alone and some ppl prefer to follow divisions even when they're not in them.

    Yeah the hydro on the T8 is not very effective for aggressive playstyle See you in 2 months so when i'll be unlocking the Z52 :p

    The Hipper (which was my first T8 cruiser !) was really enjoyable and I had a lot of good games in it, the Roon is better but I didn't play it much. German cruisers are like german DDs, average, the Roon and Hindenburg can dish out a lot of broadside dmg to a BB (good AP and high ROF) and if they want they can spam HE from afar and set some fires

    In theory yes but this scenario almost never happen, most of the time i play like any other stealth DD (advance to caps or open water to spot, or in the usual routes DDs tend to sail) and try to torp the advancing fleet, but when I encounter enemy DDs there're the scenarios : - against IJN DDs, they spot me first, I get shot from enemy cruisers/bb, eventually I catch them up when they turn but if they flee and I pursue firing at him i'll get shot down by the rest of the team, if he smokes and i rush him with hydro i'll have to smoke when i'm in range of hydro-spotting distance and wait for the smoke to cover me to shoot him otherwise i'll be spotted again and shot/torped. - against USN DDs the fight is close and it's a matter of aiming, but if he smokes and i want to hydro him, same again as above the risk is too high. - against Soviet DDs I can spot them before and hope my team will assist before he spots me, but if he decides to hunt me i'm dead. I like the idea of the German DDs being "average" and I think they can be a good torpedo boat, but in general torpedoes are not so powerful in an average game.

    I feel Something similar for DDs right now, I like the ships and I enjoyed grinding the USN and SN ones, but the Germans are not so interesting and i don't like very much the IJN (the torpedoes are not very appealing for me). I play the gearing or the khaba from time to time to earn some crédits, but i'm not so fond of grinding through the Shima or past the T8 german DD. I always feel like in random battles the group always disregard DDs, they have to cap, spot, lay smokes, torp enemy BBs, and all that in 30 seconds and in all the cap zones... When I play cruisers i try to stay behind them to provide fire support when they early spot a DD in a cap but depending on the map it's not always easy. Generally I feel a little bored in the game lately, the RN CL line was very good and I can't wait to the Minotaur (the Neptune is a really good ship so i have fun grinding in it ^^) and I was expecting Something as "refreshing" with the Germans, but unfortunately....

    Fire prevention + damage control mod

    I took this skill for my Montana and Yamato, one last point in my Kurfurst captain to have the third lvl4 skill and I hesitate between Fire prevention and IFHE for secondaries. Took it for my Nikolai too... I think the skill may be more useful for T5-8 Battleships because you encounter a lot more Light Cruisers with high ROF. But with this skill the things that keep bugging me is now, when to use the Damage Control consumable ? Previously having two fires was not uncommon and you waited to have those two fires to extinguish them, but now if you have only one fire running and less chances to have 2 fires (because setting the bow or stern is more difficult), do you always wait to have 2 fire to use the DamaCon ?

    Hmmm yeah I see what you mean, I tend to do that too when playing gunboat DDs, I try to isolate myself from enemy ships so that if i'm spotted (and i'll be spotted because I fire often) I won't be targeted by 5 ships, that's why CE is not my first priority on the Akizuki. I'll try CE+AFT this week and see what damage i can inflict on DDs.

    German destroyers - tactics experience

    ​I'm at the Z23 too and use the same build as you (except RPF which has no use for me as i don't hunt ships with german DDs). German DDs are torpedo-oriented-boats for me, I can't compete with other DDs in a knife fight (maybe the Kagero...) and sometimes smoke near BBs or cruisers and spam a little HE on enemy ships. I use the 150mm guns for extra fire chance and one more gun, but I think against enemy DDs the 128mm may be better.

    Well for me I didn't have much games with this ship, but I use BFT, IFHE and AFT, IFHE is really mandatory for me as a DD hunter (and most DDs have 19mm armor) and I was tired of doing no dmg to BBs superstructure. But i didn't try a lot using AP on BBs superstructure, is it viable ? I tend to think also that AFT is not really a good choice maybe, I want to hunt DDs but I don't have the speed to chase them, but even at max range i can scare an enemy DD with my guns, maybe I'll try using CE instead.
