I completely missed the fact that you can just buy your way into top tier and play ranked, god thats so terrible

    I want to buy anything

People aren't laughing at you for buying a T9 premium, people are laughing at you for driving a T9 premium 600 games before you are able to shoot bots in T1 games. Look at your numbers in Georgia, 27.000 people play that ship, 28 of them are worse than you and they played it once but got disconnected. You're the worst Georgia captain in the entire game and you're asking people what to buy. When you do something 27.000 other people are doing and 26.999 of them are better than you, probably time to ask yourself if you should be doing it. Learning the game before you buy top tier premium ships doesn't mean you're poor lol. You're ruining it for yourself by not learning how to play before you go to top tier, you're ruining it for others too, but mostly for yourself.

You need to buy this ship, it's an aicraft carrier, they're very cool, you will kill many ships with planes do many damages, 100% satisfaction guaranteed. It is the only way OP

This is obviously horrible for the game but I'm not convinced it's good for WG's bottom line either, I mean sure he gave WG $50 but -Do sane people really stick around if they skip straight to T9 and just die 600 games in a row? -How many people quit because they had a streak of playing with people like this? I never gave this any thought but seeing this makes me want limitations on when you can buy high tier premium ships.

    I want to buy anything

The 28 players who did worse played the ship once and disconnected

I agree, buy a T8 premium aircraft carrier instead Then all is good and we support this.

    I want to buy anything

How do you even get a PR of 32 with 300 games in a Georgia? The secondaries should get you more than 32 and they don't require user input Please man start at tier 1 and slowly work your way up so you learn to play, all you're doing in tier 9 is dying. You literally just played 600 games in which you died, nothing else happened, you know nothing else happened, you were there.

    I want to buy anything

I figured you must be exaggerating, clicked on it, holy hell, my eyes, it burns. Literally installed the game, bought a Georgia and a Tirpitz, played them for 600 games, 600 games where any team he was in did not have a snowball's chance in hell of winning.

    QUALIFICATION SO HARD

Sure but if he's kinda bad and he's trying to rank out in a hipper with a 4pt captain it's not going to improve his odds.

    Your new ranked system SUCKS

Per week if you're good, you're skipping over the per week part. If you rank out every week that's 1600 doubloons a month

You're looking at dockyard events wrong. It's a new ship, you can do 1 of 3 things : A) I want it and I want it now, take my money, take it now and take it all, I must have it, now. B) I want it but at a pretty big discount, I'll do the missions, get rewards and get a discounted premium next month. C) I don't want it, i'll just do the missions and get the rewards. Sometimes the discount with dockyard is very big too, the last one was a pretty decent T8 for 1.750 doubloons, T8s go for 8.000+ doubloons usually. There's a bunch of people with college degrees in art, design and programming designing these ships, they eat food, their cars use gas, need to sell stuff.

Flamu's reviews are excellent but he reviews the ships from the perspective of what can a very good player use to carry hard, what's good advice for some may be shlt advice for others. My first ship was grozovoi, I suffered for 250 rounds because I, complete noob, was following reddit advice from the best Grozovoi player on NA on how to play it, without CE, full gunboat. That obviously didn't go well. The reddit post simply said "This is the best DD and here's how the best of us play it" - It probably was the best at the time if you were chuck norris. Littlewhitemouse's reviews are more helpful for everyone because you can see, is it a low skillfloor ship, a high skillfloor ship. Hizen may be an excellent ship for a below average player but have less carry potential for an above average one. Also bargain at 4K doubloons for T9 premium BB. I think this applies to the new american BBs too, people pull their noses up for these because they're slow, bad dpm, meh accuracy, you can barely reposition, near impossible to dodge any plane damage. But then I thought about how I used to play : I didn't reposition, wouldn't know where, couldn't read the map, i never once cared about how fast or slow I was. My aim was garbage, sigma didn't matter to me, wish I had more shells, more chance something lands. I didn't know how to anticipate planes and mitigate some of the damage, wish I had more AA so the goddamn planes would die quicker. New american BB line solves all of these problems. Flamu's reviews typically ignore fun factor, they always ignore historical value, ingame value and looks, a bunch of reasons why someone may want Hizen knowing full well there's stronger T9s. I typically recommend friends to read Littlewhitemouse's stuff to know more about a ship + watch Flamu's stuff to learn how to drive it. He's always ripping on German DDs for example, I'm sure he's right, but I wish my first DD line was Germans, smoke and hydro is like playing with cheats in the cap. He knows where the torps are coming from so he doesn't value hydro.

    teams are awful, as expected

    1) Yes it does, means everything, I love math, this is legit just math, the average winrate of your teammates overtime is 50%, it's always 50%, it's not 49,7% - it's not 50,3% - It's 50% That's how averages work. If your WR is 60, your team has dramatically increased odds of winning despite you being one of twelve ships. If your WR is 40, your team has dramatically increased odds of losing despite you being one of twelve ships. All you need is a set of eyes, watch a 40%WR player play the game and then watch 60%. The difference is hilarious. 2) You played 22 games in sinop, the only thing that is a prime example of is how tiny samples can't be used to draw conclusions. The reason you lose in it is because you might be doing OK damage but you're not yet doing what needs to be done to win in T7, I was in your exact situation 1K games ago, carried my team in T5, was a burden to my team in T8. Are you farming fire damage on full HP ships 7km away when you could be finishing off almost-dead ships 16km away? I did that, that's how you get decent damage numbers and lose. Do you tank for your team when they need you to tank? Because you could just sit in the back and stay alive the longest, good for PR, good for damage, not so much for winrate ... Numbers are only useful if you have a lot of them, my first ships was Russian DD's, I was terrible for obvious reasons, yet I somehow have "unicum winrate" in the T4, because I was carried 20 times. Every line I've grinded to T10 since then I had progressively better stats than the previous line. You can even measure it for specific ships, my winrate and stats in Grozovoi was horrid, my first T10, was 40% for 200 games, I got it up to 48% playing it 200 more games. If WR was random, I wouldn't be able to do this. If you simply take line after line up to T10, you'll see your first line dark red bad, your second line orange below average, then average, I'm 7 lines in, more experience, good stats on all my most recent ships. My winrate was 40% at 1K games (T10 way too soon) 45% at 2K games, now nearly 50% with 3K games and 60% win rate in some T9 ships I played 100+ games in. Everyone's winrate is a curve going up, with dips if they move up to the next tier, if winrate was meaningless and random, there would be no curve, there would be no dips. Your dip now in T7, couple months from now your dip should be in T8, T9 etc If you actually look at the numbers you should be able to draw conclusions, the only reason you can is because stats are not meaningless or random. There's guys with 80% winrate 20.000 games - What's more likely, they got really lucky twenty thousand times or something else going on there?

    QUALIFICATION SO HARD

Memes aside, I would add it's not just skill, it's mostly skill, but you also need a good ship with a decent level captain. Do you have the right tool for the job? Do you need advice on what ship to get? If so

    QUALIFICATION SO HARD

I've seen this exactly once over the last 3000 games with matchmaking monitor open on a second screen. A guy in a jutland with hidden stats straight up slaughtering everyone. I felt kinda stupid because I specifically use monitor when playing support cruisers so I can avoid supporting potato DDs. It happened months ago and it's so unique I still remember it. The other 2.999 games hidden stats = play with crayon in the nose. And not like halfway in their nose, all the way in.

    QUALIFICATION SO HARD

Nobody said it's accidental, people are telling you -with dank memes- your complaint is a direct result of math. -If your winrate is 40%, this means you're so bad at the game your team has a 60% chance of losing despite you only being one of twelve players on a team. -If your winrate is 60%, this means you're so good at the game your team has a 60% chance of winning despite you only being one of twelve players on a team. Ignore all these dank memes for a moment and think, your stats are hidden, hidden stats means 40%WR, I don't know why people even bother hiding them, people know what hidden means. If you win 40% and thus lose 60% of your games, statistically, how would your rank increase? The only way would be to get lucky with very good teammates over and over again. You'll get lucky once, twice, maybe three times, but you won't get lucky 30 games in a row. If you play a lot of games, luck stops being a factor and math takes over, 40% is less than 51%, you could play 24/7 for the next 2 months, you still wouldn't rank out.

    teams are awful, as expected

His post isn't wrong though, you argue a terrible player got luck his way into gold, that's true. But if someone just can't handle playing with bad players ever, he would be playing with them a lot less up there. Wargaming solved 2 problems with this ranked system 1) WTF do I do with my interesting lower tier ships, there's no incentive to play them other than for phun. 2) I'm allergic to potatoes, when I see a potato I feel pressing urges to strangle someone. 1) Solved periodically because your lower tier ships will be useful at times 2) Solved periodically because during the day, when there's enough people playing randoms, you can play with people at your skill level repeatedly if you want I think it might solve a 3rd problem periodically : "Fck CVs, just let me play the game without CVs for awhile please" - Ok tier 5 ranked this week, no CVs.

    teams are awful, as expected

Oh you're talking about ranked? Yes for sure you'll see 39% WR players ranking out, not many but you'll see them. This too is math. If a 39%WR player were to play one million games, he would be stuck in the lowest rank, he has to, because he's so bad his team loses far more it wins, there's simply no way up. If he plays 100 games though, he could very well rank out, because he lucked out in the sense that his teammates were above average say 60% of the time.

    teams are awful, as expected

Never seen it, I assume it was flamu, a very skilled player, watching a horrible one and being confused. Basically the sentiment of this topic dialed up. I'm sure you could find it, i'm curious now too
  20. COPlUM

    teams are awful, as expected

Right sure extreme luck and bad luck becomes a factor with 1000 attempts, the 39% might beat the 68% twice in a thousand or whatever. Put both in opposite teams with exactly 50% winrate teammates and the 68% is going to win ... well 68% obviously. What I'm getting at is is if your winrate is in the high 50s or 60s and you're watching a 39% play, you can't be like "Oh god, what's he doing, how can he be this bad" - He is literally that bad, it's simple math, the person you're watching is so bad that despite being one of twelve people on a team, his team loses 61% of the time simply because he spawned in the game.
  21. COPlUM

    teams are awful, as expected

Win rates are very interesting in this game and they mean more than many would like to admit 40% means you're so bad that despite you only being 1 of 12 ships, your teams odds of winning are reduced by 50% because you're there. 60% means you're so good that despite you only being 1 of 12 ships, your teams odds of winning are increased by 50% because you're there. You see 60% is not 20% more than 40% - 60% is 50% more than 40%. Translate that to an individual player being just 1 ship on a team of 12, this explains why a 55%WR player is not marginally better than a 45%WR player, they're not even in the same ballpark level of skill, as you can clearly see ingame when looking at someone. The skill gap between 45% and 55% is comical. This is why a 60%WR player looking at a 39%WR player isn't just annoyed, he's confused. Flamu famously said "animal research" once but that's basically what that was for him. It's like watching a monkey do silly things and you don't get it, of course you don't, you're not a monkey. If you let a 68%WR player 1v1 a 39%WR player one thousand times, he wouldn't win two out of three, or three out of four, he would win all one thousand times. I'll put it this way, lets say real madrid started winning 10% less games since they sold Ronaldo - This does not mean Ronaldo was 10% better than the average forward in la liga. Winning 10% less because 1/10th of the team was changed means he was a god among men.

Some charity work with the disabled doesn't make me an expert but there's different levels of stupid (fictional player ratings) >An IQ50 imbecile or a 2 year old could play 10K games and still not hit something right in front of him. 20K games 1K average damage 32% WR >An IQ70 dumb person or a 5 year old could consistently hit something but only if it's right in front of him after thousands of games. 20K games 10K average damage 35% WR >An IQ80 person could hit a moving target sometimes but only after years of paying, a target that is both moving and turning would be too complex regardless of how many games they play. 20K games 15K average damage 37% WR And then there's you, you were bad, admit it, you sucked, the game was designed for you, your brain works, you recognize patterns, this made you less bad. Now you're average, or great, depending on how long you've been practicing at the pattern. To shoot a moving ship in this game you have to memorize the flight patttern of a shell, many different shells, analyze movements of a ship, correlate the flight pattern and time to impact with the movement, that's just when they're going in a straight line. If they aren't going in a straight line, you also have to anticipate what that ship, another person, is likely going to do 10-20 seconds from now, make an informed guess and aim for a seemingly random spot hoping for a hit. To get a winrate in the 50s and 60s you have to do all this simultaneously for yourself and every other ship around you. We do this dozens of times in 10 minutes, you do it 20 times per minute in a kitakaze it's simple enough for you and me but for millions of people this is the equivalent of rocket science, they can't do it no matter how hard they try. I hope this helps put potato teammates into perspective.

    teams are awful, as expected

Precisely yes, and a young child is effectively a small stupid person, weird way of putting it but that's what they are. An imbecile might have an IQ of say 50 and a mental age of two, that would be the Halland story I posted earlier. A player that is exceptionally bad and has been for thousands of games, what we would call a potato, could either be a dumb person, say IQ of 80 and a mental age of 5. But it could also just be an actual 5 year old. That would be my Sov Soyuz story or your Pommern's story. But that's the thing, you have to expect this, 24 random people, depending on how bad they are and -more importantly- how many games they've been that bad without any sign of improvement, could be kindergarteners, a stupid person or a full-on imbecile. If someone playing this game for any reasonable amount of time is a fully developed healthy adult, they will progress from bad, to below average, to average etc. It's just a matter of time, aiming a gun in this game is nothing more than motor skills and pattern recognition, repetition. It might take someone 1K games, 5K games to hit 50%, might take 10K, but you'll get there. Not everyone is dealt the same hand of cards in life, hundreds of millions of people in the world could do something tens of thousands of times and they still wouldn't get it, world of warships is no exception.
  24. COPlUM

    teams are awful, as expected

I don't know man, if he was talking he's not an actual idiot, if he was being abnormally useless could be he's brand new to the game. There's also just many people that are not quite idiots (IQ of 70 or less) but still really really dumb, IQ in the high 70s and low 80s. These people can shoot something sometimes, they can recognize patterns, which is what aiming in this game basically is, but it would take them a decade to git gud at it when it took you a couple months. Yesterday I played Gadjah Mada, one of the enemy ships was in a Sov Soyuz, his stats were terrible, but not "he's never succesfully shot a gun at an enemy ship" terrible. He started saying stuff in chat as soon as he spawned, he sailed in to my cap, straight line, pushed into my smoke, ate a bag of torpedoes and exploded. Maybe he shot his guns at something once? He probably did 5K damage to something before he sank. Either way, after he died he spent the rest of the game chatting, like "Hooohooo hey woah you really got me there" and a few sentences that didn't even make sense grammatically, nevermind contextually. It's an online game, 24 entirely random people every 15 mins, random matchmaking. You'll see anything from super unicums to average players, bad players, dumb people and actual imbeciles. In the 20th century, about 1 in 10 people were rejected for military service because they could not fold a sheet of paper, put it in an envelope, lick it and close it, this was the actual test for basic service like cleaning duty. This 1 in 10 plays the game with you, their aim will never be good because their brain literally can't see patterns, being mad at them won't change a thing lol.
  25. COPlUM

    teams are awful, as expected

I know you don't and it's a team game, teammates being so bad you can't carry them is annoying. I'm just saying if what you see is truly bizarre, like it doesn't even make sense on a very basic level, you see this once a day if you play a lot, that person is likely stupid, in the literal sense of the word.
