You get a month to do it for free, you can either do it individually per captain ingame or a button to do them all. -
You still get 100% elite with max level captains but now you also get 5% elite with non-max captains.

Deciding if I want to get Massa before it's gone. I know looking at the averages on warships is pointless, it doesn't factor in recent changes to ships, doesn't factor in the fact that many people just grind through NC with a 9pt captain and never spend any real time in her. But none of this applies to how the top 5% does in both ships, that should be an actual indication of the potential of both ships. The top 5% does 20% better in Massa across the board, winrate, damage, K/D and XP. The gap between them in recent weeks on maple is even greater. Is settling with NC as a go-to T8 BB a mistake? Is NC really 20% weaker? I have Georgia and Ohio as my go-to T9/T10 BBs so the different build is not an issue, I don't mind the 13K doubloons either. I must say seeing a premium ship outperform her tech tree sister ship by 20% across the board isn't a pleasant sight, I typically mock people claiming pay to win, this does actually look like pay to win, am I missing something here? Can I pay to win 20% more?

There is also a 22.5% accuracy buff for german secondaries, announced just now. Not that it matters much but people thought it does so, rejoice.

Worse, you're often having the exact same fight, the only difference being the enemy team is fighting from within the cap and you're fighting from well behind the cap. It's legit just the exact same fight with but the enemy team has more islands to use as cover and points constantly tick in their favor.

You got plenty of time to get 30K coal even without snowflakes, just do your dailies and select resource containers, you should always select those anyway.

I didn't think of that, there's about 5X more NCs than Massas. So then ... The 20% powergap for the top 5% is explained by the top 5% Massa players being a more select group? The 20% powergap in maplesyrup is explained by, I guess by people mindlessly grinding through NC? The 20% powergap for individual players who are top 5% with both ships is explained by what? Them having played NC years ago maybe?

Knowing that difference in a BB is the hardest thing to learn in a battleship, except for playing a DD properly, that requires dealing with 17 things simultaneously. In a way it's a blessing most terrible players are in battleships, because a useless DD on your team mostly means you lose the moment you spawn. Install monitor, it will keep you sane if you use it properly. Don't use it to go "Reeee 54% vs 51% team we are doomed" - 51% people can have great games, 54% people can have bad games - Just use it to count potatoes, they never have good games and are easy to spot, all their stats are dark red. You go into a match and count the potatoes as follows "Ok we have 5 potatoes, they have 4, so it's 7v8 instead of 12v12 - this is winnable" Sometimes you'll get games where it's 5v12 because your team has all the potatoes but it's very rare, when this happens, don't play to win, you can't, use that match to try something funny, something risky, or just pad your damage numbers for once, bat habit but it's OK if your team is the potato army. I've been doing this for awhile, the odd imbalanced match does not piss me off anymore, I see them as an opportunity to try something funky in a match I would have lost regardless. I was in a 39% WR team yesterday, I drove my jutland into a Fletcher's smoke, beat him up in his own smoke cloud and then went CV hunting for the rest of the match, laughing at my team doing this - Best fun I had all day. I lost, but I would have lost anyway, and I had fun.

A J-line HE slinging BB potato is born from going up the tiers too soon. What happens is they go up the tiers where they melt in seconds if they over-extend. They adapt to this by sitting in the back, that's a reasonable response. The problem is they never took the step from J-line slinging HE. This is how you get people with 35.000 T10 games - 41% WR. They went through half of the adaptation process for high tiers and just kept going with it. Nothing you can say to them will convince them to git gud, because that would require them to acknowledge they have been mostly useless for 35.000 games, admitting you did something for ten thousand hours and didn't learn anything is not easy. So just don't say anything to them. If they're 3.000 games in they might still be willing to listen, someone with 10K potato games will always be a potato.

Welcome to warships and sorry but there is no logic, they just suck at the game. 3 BB categories : Potato Charge in and die, these people are actually more useful than the next category, because for a few minutes they cause a distraction and make the enemy team reveal their locations, other people on the team can make use of this. They have bad winrates and terrible damage output Mega potato Sit far back, start fires on many different targets, this has no impact on the game whatsoever because fire damage is 100% repairable, but it makes the people doing it feel good, as their damage output is high - because nobody puts out single fires, there's no point putting them out. The mega potato will always shoot the biggest target, because that's easier to hit and results in larger (entirely useless) damage numbers. They have the worst winrates and average damage output Actual BB captain Tank for the team without over-extending and melting under pressure, so basically take pressure but not too much so they can sustain it, they do damage that isn't 100% repairable (AP damage or multiple permanent fires if there's no way to apply good AP damage) - The actual BB captain will shoot based on priority, typically destroyers and radar cruisers first. They have good winrates and don't care about damage output because landing 2 shells on a destroyer has more impact than farming 50K fire damage on some battleships. There's an exception with the Russian research bureau battleship Slava, that thing is actually designed as a sniper, it can't tank. And that thing can actually be impactful from max range. Part of playing warships or any game like it is you have to watch teammates do incredibly stupid things, yesterday I played a game where the enemy team had 1 ship left, a GK with 5K HP running out the clock for the win. Our last ship was a full HP thunderer. Running away is so hard-wired in these people that even in this scenario, it ran away. So a Thunderer with 100K HP will typically run away from the last ship on the enemy team, even if shooting that ship once will result in a win and running away will result in a loss. My advice is ignore it, don't let it distract or piss you off, take comfort in knowing the enemy team also had to deal with a few potatoes, it's balanced in a way. I recommend installing matchmaking monitor for several reasons 1) Know which teammates you can rely on and which you can't, know which teammates you should help and which aren't worth helping, this will increase your own winrate since you won't be trading some of your HP to support potatoes. 2) If your team has absolutely no chance of winning, use that match to pad your damage numbers, but only if you tream has no chance, so like if it's a 44% WR team against a 59% WR team or whatever. 3) Use the info on which players are good to watch them play out the rest of the match after you die, if you consistently do this instead of leaving the match when you die, you will make much more progress. It's cruel but as a support cruiser, there's no point in wasting 10K HP to help a 42% WR destroyer, he will just sit sideways and eat a torpedo or gunboat a light cruiser 30 seconds later.

Why are we pretending they will just take the current German DD line and remove smoke, obviously their stats will get jacked up, might be good if they are jacked up hard.

Our CV was in a division with a bunch of battleships, their plan was all go to A10 and guard the CV. Watching it made me lose the will to play so I went CV hunting like a potato. I complimented them on their brilliant tactics, they +1 me because didn't realize I was being sarcastic. -
Why was neustrashimy even removed rather soon, it certainly wasn't too popular, haven't seen one in weeks.

The problem is timed events are a tool to keep people engaged, that does not work if you can get the reward of timed events at any time later. As for premiums being made unavailable, they do that with ships that became too popular, to avoid T5 games with 8 kamikazes and T10 games with 8 thunderers and 6 smolensks. The whole purpose of removing ships is so you see less of them as time goes by. You'll still see thunderers 2 years from now but you won't see half a dozen of them in every game

Exactly, smoke allows them to delay death-by-plane for about a minute, this is unacceptable.

That last thing about limiting ships to 1 or 2 of the same ship in clan battles was music to my ears. Always hated the 'meta' and everyone spamming a bunch of the same ship with one CV.

Mini-cruisers, no smoke, 150MM hard hitting AP. So basically tiny nurnbergs with better concealment and no citadel, that actually sounds interesting.
