It's not, the only top tier DD that's easier to play is USS black because that one has both radar and smoke. Many ways to take a dump on enemy DDs in Smaland, you can just drive your butt in the cap, pop radar and drive away when you're spotted, enemy DD now has 6 things shooting it for 25 seconds while you're undetected. Or, if you see a smoke cloud, you drive up to it, pop radar, if nothing else is within 11km from you, you can farm the dude in the smoke for free while never being spotted. It has radar and it outguns just about every other destroyer in the game, how is that difficult :p

¿Bait radar via torps?
-
Nobody wonders about that by the way, people hide them once they go under 39%, it's warships tradition
-
You won't get better, you'll pick up bad habits and hate the game. It's impossible to out-play half a dozen nevsky's at T10 if you can't outplay a single belfast at T7. But you do you mate, see you in 2 years with twelve thousand games played and 37% winrate.
-
Easily, the best players who spam T5 aren't that great. And I didn't say the best, I said one of the best. When you feel super confident in T5, you go to T6 etc. Depending on your willingness to learn, it's very much possible 6 months from now you'll actually be ready to play that Smaland properly and you can make people seethe because they didn't get a Smaland before it was too late. If you stay in T10 like this, one of two things will happen : -You'll get bored with getting your teeth kicked in every game and you'll quit, which is a damn shame because this game is great if you don't skip steps. -You'll stink up fifteen thousand T10 games, be one of the worst T10 players on the server and you'll make conspiracy theory topics on this forum about how ACKSUALLY you're not bad at all, wargaming is just rigging your games. You'll also be super negative about everything, because why wouldn't you be, you're playing a videogame in which you always lose. Look at the people always being negative on this forum, they're all potatoes, of course they hate the game. I got a grozovoi after 2 weeks and ruined 500 T10 games in it, my stats were in the gutter with 2K games played, I hated this game. I took Colonel Pete's "go back to low tier" advice last summer, now I've had almost unicum stats for the last 1K games I played in T9/T10. People aren't giving this advice to make you leave, it's for your own good, the advice is real, it's the only way to git gud.
-
It affects everyone's game, especially if you do this in a top tier DD, because if you die, which you do in the 75th second, the rest of your team is now fighting an impossible battle for 18 minutes and 45 seconds. Top tier DDs have extraordinary influence on the outcome of a battle, especially Smaland because people will assume you know what you're doing in that thing, support you and go down with you.
-
If you average 10K damage in a Smaland, we know your contribution to the games in question, nothing. I don't want to be a dlck, I really don't, but you're asking for advice. I'm giving you advice as a former T10 potato : Play T5 until you're consistently among the best players on your team, move up to T6, your stats will take a beating in T6, play T6 until you're consistently among the best players on your team, rinse and repeat until you're ready for T10. Everytime you "get stuck" - As in, not improving anymore. Study game mechanics, watch replays of really good players, install matchmaking monitor to find which player on your team is the best and make it a habit of watching the best player on your team play out the round after you die. Your performance will improve at a hilarious pace.

Massive Balance Changes with Captain Skill Rework.

They will burn more sure, but the only viable tactic for an ibuki fighting a kronshtadt will remain "be very quiet, hope he doesn't see me, OH GOD IT'S SHOOTING ME" -
Massive Balance Changes with Captain Skill Rework.
COPlUM replied to Sunleader's topic in General Discussion
Significant buff to DDs, they can no longer waste skillpoints on skills that don't work. -
Not denigrate, I'm helping you, you're delusional about what's going on. You said yourself you got into high tiers because you struggled in low tiers, that's the exact opposite of what you should do to improve in this game. What you should do is park that Smaland, be happy you got it before it's deleted (it's a god ship) and learn the game before you play it, all you're doing is stinking up T10 games where people actually want to win.
-
10.7K dmg and 1300xp makes you 749th out of 751 people playing Smaland. There's literally two people in Europe playing that ship worse than you.
-
You just said you left warships for WT two weeks ago, not that anyone cares. So why are you here

Arcade in WT feels more realistic than wows? Really? With the built-in wallhacks and aim-assist? You can roll your face over your keyboard in WT arcade and win kek

Question about captain XP ahead of changes
COPlUM replied to Bindolaf_Werebane's topic in General Discussion
Actually moving your captains around now will save you doubloons, I moved 30 captains around in anticipation of the changes, retraining is completed for free when 0.10.0 goes live, saved me 1.500 doubloons even with the one month long 90% discount on retraining. To answer OP - Smartest way to use captain XP in my opinion is as follows - Have one good destroyer, one good cruiser and one good battleship at every tier (T5 and up) with a good captain (L15+) - After that, spend all your captain XP getting one or two captains to max level - In a premium or permacamo ship you enjoy. This way you always have what you need for ranked/clan battles at any tier and you turn your favorite ship(s) into elite XP farms. The shortest path to good captains in good ships is getting rid of ships and captains you don't need, you don't need 50 ships with 50 captains. A small fleet with high level captains is always better than a massive fleet with lower level captains, not just because you have higher level captains, but also because you know your ships better. Especially now because they're about to let you salvage 25% XP of captains you don't need anymore, get rid of boats you don't play and 12pt captains you don't need. So like, my only T7s are Gadjah Mada, Fiji and Sinop with max level captains. My only T8s are Lightning, Baltimore and NC with max level captains etc. Super easy to keep high/max level captains if your fleet is small. And that doesn't mean stop grinding, just keep grinding to collect T10s for annual supercontainers. -
I look forward to the rework because one skilltree for multiple classes never made sense to me 1) lol arcade peasant - at least play realistic 2) you'll be back here when you find out about high tier stock syndrome, gaijin's monetization model and economy in high tier, if you think warships is bad with balancing, you're in for a real treat there.

Are we seeing a coming MM Skill based change ?
COPlUM replied to StraightUpYourA's topic in General Discussion
It just means the clan you're fighting isn't in another league, there will be no PR MM in warships because it doesn't work in games like this, all it would do is systematically punish good players with bad teammates and reward bad players with good teammates. It would mean an unlimited source of frustration for people who went through the trouble of gitting gud because they would be forced to carry 100% of their rounds. -
More is less (the upcoming Commander Skills Update 19 -> 21 points - most current "reference" builds will simply cost more in new system for same functionality and will deplete great deal of resources and cause months / years of unnecessary grind)!

1.2 million to go from L19 to L21? EZ 10 clan battles with signals stacked -
Don't mind, level of play does seem lower but goes both ways, get more dev strikes on weekends.

Anyone know how long the MM-****-list lasts?

There's so many things here that are mutually exclusive that I find it difficult to recommend you a ship. Alaska has powerful AP, good AA and survivability - But terrible velocity & agility, it's massive and it does spend time lobbing shells, ambushing DDs and tanking. The reason people love Alaska is versatility, if your team needs an extra radar cruiser, you can be a very tanky buffalo with bad dpm. If your team needs an extra battleship, you can be a very squishy Iowa with small guns.

COPlUM replied to KapteinSabeltann's topic in General Discussion
How long does this thing I just made up last. You get good days and bad days, both in how you play and the teammates you get. I had days this month with 75% WR over 27 games, one day I had 100% WR over 14 games. I also had 3 days with 30% WR. You can get rid of some of the matchmaking RNG by playing a ship that has more impact on the outcome. If you play an HE spammer, you'll have minimal impact, you're just "part of the team" - If you play a cap contesting DD or a radar cruiser, you'll have far more impact on which team actually wins. -
Stalingrad isn't what she used to be, these days it's a petropavlovsk, but bigger, on fire, spotted from the moon and free real estate for MvR.

My List of Everything Good About the Game.

Hidden profile, high tier DDs, we know you lost those rounds because you died in the 75th second mate, don't even need to see it. -
PSA: Commander skills - opt-in skill reset
COPlUM replied to Jethro_Grey's topic in General Discussion
That's not how business works sadly, I build housing for a living, for every 10 homes I build - There's 1 where I or one of my employees made a small mistake. A pipe leaking, an airvent or a door squeeking. Those people lose their minds if I don't come and fix it on a sunday, everyone else that's 100% satisfied for the next 30 years I'll never hear from again.
