Why ranked is not competitive at all

Wouldn't work because software can't interpret winning moves, let's say you're in a hipper and you yolo into a rock at the exact right time, catching a DD and two battleships on the other side in your hydro, the DD died fleeing your hydro and both battleships remain pinned behind that rock for 8 minutes worried about eating torps if they leave. Ranking and xp-wise, you didn't do anything but in reality you won the game. What you're suggesting would result in even more J-line sniping, because that, sadly, is how you top the scoreboard. If you're playing ranked and you want to rank out fast, just make yourself bottom tier in a strong ship. You get way more xp when you're bottom tier, save your star more often than not. -

Playing through the UK CA line Devonshire and surrey : Meh, okay I guess, kinda boring Albemarle : Horrible, neptune hull so you either get devastated or you get to use the superheal once because you ate too many citadel hits Drake : Hilarious, built-in 3D printer Drake is so funny to play, the ship is not powerful, no DPM, no utility but you can be a massive troll in it. Go super wide, make a bunch of ships angry by lighting them on fire repeatedly, make them chase you, go low HP, they think "wow a low HP cruiser, lets chase it for easy kill" so you print a new ship, burn them some more, go low HP again, they chase you some more. I just pulled 6 guys to the corner of the map doing this, after 5 mins two of them burned to death and the other 4 turned around to try and get some map control back. It's the ultimate troll -

I'm not saying bullshlt losing streaks and bullshlt winning streaks are not balanced, they are, I got 21 wins in a row in ranked last week, went from bronze to gold in one straight line. I'm suggesting matchmaker remains random but checks for absurd statistical anomalies like my 15 game loss streak earlier this morning. Suggesting this because I'm a calm guy & was close to ragequitting, if this happens to someone with less nerves, I imagine many quit over the years after a day like this. I always use matchmaking monitor, I never let it piss me off, because as I've said in this topic plenty of times, getting a potato team and getting a good team is balanced, both happen an equal amount of times. This morning though I got 38%-40% teams against multiple unicum divisions fifteen games in a row. I'm talking to some people right now who play every day but haven't played a random battle game solo since early 2018 - Because of nonsense streaks like this. I too am considering to start playing sweaty divisions exclusively and never play solo anymore after this morning, so that days like this can't happen to me anymore. That screenshot I posted : 4v3 with 6 minutes to play - 2 mins until the enemy team wins - 1 cap vs 2 caps - All 4 of our remaining ships right next to B-cap. I was being cynical in chat but they actually didn't go into that cap, they really all did a hard right turn to avoid driving into that cap, they disengaged entirely & the enemy won 2 minutes later. The only way to lose that was for 4 people to all turn hard right and dodge the cap circle, exactly what they did. What this game really needs is a tutorial explaining basic game mechanics, I don't care if you force people to watch it without the option of clicking next or continue, even people who played 10.000 games, too many people do not know what the cap circles do. None of those 4 guys knew that driving into that cap would buy them 4 extra minutes to win 4v3.

I don't want stat-based matchmaker but I do wish it had some kind of fail-safe system checking for abnormal losing streaks, I'm at 11 losses in a row this morning, 9 games with mouth breathers against multiple superunicum divisions, one game where the enemy team was down to 1 ship vs our 5 ships, everyone but me chased after that one destroyer while he ran out the clock because he had all the caps. I spent the last 5 minutes of my game trying to cap in a battleship and begging my team to please stop chasing one DD across the map while he wins on points, nobody listened, 11 losses in a row. I like how matchmaker is random but sometimes random can mean the game is pushing even someone who loves the game to his/her breaking point of just quitting the game. I'm going to keep going and if matchmaker decides to do this to me all day, I'll interpret it as wargaming telling me "bro, just quit, we want you to leave" and take a long break from the game. -13 losses in a row, again full team of mouth breathers against a triple musashi unicum div. Ill keep going to 20 losses in a row and then im out. I want you to throw me 7 more losses to make it 20 in a row, give me a reason to uninstall so I can stop being addicted to your game. -14 losses in a row, going for a guinness world record here I won my 16th game after 15 losses in a row - somewhat suspiciously I had 15 +200%/+777% XP camos and full sets of special signals. I remain in favour of random matchmaking and know that on average random is fair and this is a statistical anomaly, but perhaps consider a fail-safe so that one does not get put in with mega potato teams against sweaty tryhard unicum divisions fifteen matches in a row. The odds of being on the pepega team fifteen times in a row is 1-a(5000,19)/25000 or about 0.00237281

Yeah, 0.10.0 made it worse though, and soyuz/vladivostok feel it too now. I don't like high tier russians anymore, my kuznetsov is very comfy in sinop these days.

Player distribution is top heavy, meaning most people are in T10, less in T9, less in T8 etc, think of it like an upside-down pyramid. Thus you're always more likely to be bottom tier than top tier. However there's limitations in place and T8 battleships don't suffer too much when bottom tier. T7 is kinda painful because you're covered in 26 not 32, so you get overmatched by T8/T9 battleships and you can't do it to them. Basically if you're bottom tier in a T7 battleship, every other battleship is a yamato, that doesn't happen if you're bottom tier in a T8 battleship.

It's OP in sweaty divisions, pepegas will see that, not look at or understand the armor scheme, buy it and get devastated with overmatch citadels even by HenriIV and supercruisers + be very upset with Flambass. -
Jingles is correct because the other stats can be and often are meaningless. Damage? Could just be dropping single fires on battleships. The worst player in europe has 240K damage record in thunderer. Kills? Could be someone ignoring flat broadsides to do the last 1K damage to something that's about to burn to death anyway. Xp? This could be a somewhat useful measurement because xp does factor in what you're shooting and are you capping etc, but it can't be used at all because it doesn't factor in who is premium and who isn't. Winrate is the only stat that matters because -on average- so after thousands of games, your team will be as good as the enemy team, with you as the only differentiating factor. The only caveat here is tiers 1-4 don't count because tiers 1-4 is just murdering bots and division winrate doesn't count because that boosts your winrate by a lot. The only thing that matters is solo winrate in tiers 5-10. The reason it matters is because 1/3rd of your games are guaranteed losses (potato team) 1/3rd of your games are guaranteed wins (good team) and 1/3rd of your games can go either way (the ones where you can make all the difference) There's always going to be people claiming winrate doesn't matter because 'muh team bad' but they are lying to themselves. It's cope for being bad. The law of averages says on average your team will be as good as the enemy team because you play thousands of games.

I wasn't sure if you said no because you see that thing once a year or if you were being a lvl3.000 wizard mathematician again because 152mm is technically not a 150mm cruiser. Also I'm pretty sure Ulysseita made up the 18km russian smoke cruiser, it just so happens to actually exist, sort of, and he heard about it for the first time approximately 6 minutes ago My spider senses are tingling you see, I can feel these things.

Mikhail Kutuzov does have 150mm guns 19km range and smoke. It's like a five year old premium, rarely see one these days.

Yeah not having RPF probably made the experience worse than it had to be, because I bumped into other DDs too often and when I did, I often had my guns pointed the wrong way & they take forever to turn.

I do take advice when offered, I do it all the time and I'm grateful for it every time, it's why my stats are improving at a good pace. But if I am constantly bumping into petros, Hakuryu and darings with Kagero, I didn't see how Pete's advice is going to help me much in that case. I also already got the answer I was looking for from quite a few people telling me it's not abnormal to struggle in kagero and be decent in akizuki or lightning. Kagero is in a rough spot, especially when bottom tier, the vast majority of T8 games. When Flamu says ijn torpedo DDs have been powercrept to hell and back & yuro says kagero has no role if asashio exists, I interpret this as me being good enough to do well in good boats, decent in decent boats and I'm just not good enough to perform in bad boats. Reason I made this topic at all is because I was doing really well -for me anyway- for a long time, I get Kagero and I was suddenly horrible, it had me confused, last boat I struggled in was Donskoi awhile ago.

What lol, short and longe range continous is triple, flak is double. That thunderer-ohio comparison you posted reeks of confirmation bias. Everyone hates thunderer but there's no need to make stuff up to make it sound worse than it already is, it does not have way better AA than ohio as your chart suggested and 80K HP is not thesame as 100K as your chart suggested.

You got banned for spamming thesame topic four times and while everyone agrees Thunderer is a broken ship, your thunderer vs ohio comparison (conveniently) skips some "minor details" like Ohio having a 38mm deck and a 40% thicker torpedo belt. Your excel-spreadsheet comparison thing was also disingenuous/misleading. You mark 1 second slower reload on Ohio as RED VERY VERY BAD SUPER BAD OMG SO BAD and you mark Thunderer having 20% less HP as yellow, implying 20% less health in a battleship is a non-issue. You mark Thunderer's AA as GREEN OMG SO GOOD SO VERY VERY GOOD for having DefAA but ignore the fact that Ohio's AA is more than twice as powerful.
