Subs CANNOT be countered. Here's PROOF.
COPlUM replied to SolanumTuberosumRex's topic in General Discussion
They have really thick torpedo belts too, just hit one with a torpedo, did like 5K. Apparently they're also supposed to be immune to the funniest possible way of dying in them. -
>Sail up to a ship, there literally isn't a game mechanic that would allow this ship to know you're coming in any way/shape/form >Surface briefly 1km from the ship you're about to shotgun >Shotgun it to death with torpedoes >The worst thing that can happen to you is your prey spotted you briefly before his death -& his teammates shoot you but you can dive in the time it takes for their shells to land >Is your team losing? Woah, we can't have that. Just dolphin around, keep them permanently spotted while being immune to all forms of spotting and/or damage >Oh no, 7 ships driving circles on top of me, they are so desperate to get rid of me they are getting slaughtered by my team, 17 of their depth charges took 3K of my HP, I best get out of here >Obviously I will dolphin away so my team can finish slaughtering them as I walk away

Man, you got me there, tatra really has been underperforming this week. I guess that settles it, debate over, hipper has just as much influence on the match as a lexington. There is literally 0 difference in carry potential between ships. Montanas hunting destroyers happens all the time, because Tatra is underperforming. Enjoy your 100 forum posts per game played good sir.

Just noticed they balanced submarines the same way they balanced carriers. Submarine on my team just now got 3 solo caps + 4 kills, he got 7th on the team. They balanced them by only giving them half as much XP so you don't have to look at them being 1st on the team every-single-match. When they're dolphining, they can get the cap with a minotaur, a wooster and a napoli sitting right next to them, while keeping them all spotted. Hilarious. Just give them half as much XP so it doesn't look overpowered in the scoreboard, is balanced now kek.

It's not about the minsk, it's about the fact that their minsk makes it so ships behind him can farm you to death from behind an island, you can't shoot them back because you can't see them, so you turn around and piss off. It's not about me and if you are studying me, do it right, i'm between 60% and 70% in every destroyer I played since 2018 except for Ragnar because I haven't figured out how that thing plays yet. Both teams are mostly dead, the enemy team has one DD remaining, he's capping everything. You're in a battleship, you're in a hipper, what do you do? You start thinking about your next match. But if you're in a destroyer, radar cruiser or carrier, you find it and kill it. Your DD died, the enemy DD has 2K HP remaining, you're in a radar cruiser, you can trade some of your HP to kill it and give your flank a chance. If you're in amalfi or a north carolina you sigh, turn your ship around and hope for the best. Some ships have more tools to deal with more situations, pretending otherwise is cringe. You're arguing for the sake of arguing, presumably you do this often considering you played 50 games this year but made 4000 posts.

MM is fair, it always has been, I never claimed otherwise, you get bad days with mostly pepega teams, you get days with good teams, it's fair over thousands of games. What I am saying to the people visiting this thread complaining about bad days is that, if you wish to be at the mercy of matchmaker to a lesser extent, if you wish to "beat the odds" more often - you can play ships that have more influence on the outcome of the game. -Battleships and cruisers without radar have some influence on the outcome of the match because they can blap things. -Radar cruisers have more influence on the outcome of the match because they can blap things and get rid of destroyers. -Destroyers have tons of influence on the outcome of the match because they can blap things, spot, cap and get rid of destroyers. -Carriers have incredible influence on the outcome of a match, because, like god, they can do whatever they want to anyone, anytime. This is reflected in the highest achievable winrates by top players in these ships. It is also reflected in what a good player prioritizes as a target. It doesn't mean you can't play a spammer or a battleship, it just means that you have less influence in the outcome of the match and you will be frustrated with matchmaker more often. It also works the other way around, the only way to get less than 40% WR is play destroyers and die fast, the only way to dip under 35% is play carrier poorly. BB and CA players literally can't go under 40% because they're not important enough to the outcome of the match.

I am not here to entertain you to get to 35.000 posts before the end of the week, you know how to use the website too, top players get significantly higher WR in destroyers and radar cruisers because of what I described. I specifically said your flank runs when your DD died and the enemy DD did not, it does not matter which DD it is, it can spot you, you can't see anything, the enemy ships can farm you, you are fcked, simple. I did not say I turn my ship around before my DD is sunk, if the DD in front of me has an average lifespan of 60 seconds, I will also support him, but I will be more cautious so that I can still join the others when they inevitably turn around and leave because it died. I just came back to the game 5 weeks ago after a one year break, nothing has changed : 350 games in destroyers and radar cruisers, 60% solo WR. Since last week I started grinding some new cruiser and battleship lines, ships without radar, ships that have no tools against destroyers, my winrate is down by 10 points, simply because these ships don't have the carry potential a destroyer or a radar cruiser has, they have no way of dealing with destroyers. Next week i'll play destroyers and radar cruisers again, my winrate will go up to 60 again. The game is literally this simple. I'm 60% - up to 70% solo in dozens of destroyers and radar cruisers, the ones I played in the last few years anyway, hundreds of games, even in neptune, because it can slot radar. I cannot achieve similar results in battleships or non-radar cruisers, simply because these ships lack the tools to turn a game around. In such ships, if your destroyer explodes, you're screwed. I'm sure there are people who hit 60 solo in hippers and amalfis, but it's rare, hitting 60 is not rare at all in destroyers or radar cruisers, it's very common. You can check the numbers in ranked too, who brings a hipper to ranked, they'll bring a chapayev, a baltimore, an alaska or a destroyer so they can, you know, have some influence in the outcome of the battle. If you bring a hipper or a north carolina, you're a tourist, all you can do is hope someone else brought a good DD or a good radar cruiser. Are you denying that a good player can carry harder in a destroyer or a radar cruiser because he/she has the tools to do so? Is there no difference in carry potential between ships? Why are you arguing? Do you just want more posts or what even is this discussion.

Dude, everyone who plays this game does this : DD died => Flank lost => Turn my ship around => Start kiting away and farm some damage while you hope to god your DD on the other side of the map didn't die. Everyone does this because this is literally all this game is lol
-
He's debating me about how it's totally possible to dominate your flank in a montana with 2 dead destroyers on your team and 2 shimakazes chasing you, just git gud bro.
-
Warships when playing a cruiser or battleship is pretty simple Step 1) Start videogame Step 2) Open matchmaking monitor. Decent DD in front of you => Support it as best you can because you might win your flank. Potato DD in front of you => Abandon it, let it die, it will die anyway, it is determined to die within the first minute, supporting it will put you in a position where you can no longer kite away and do some damage on this flank. It's better this way for everyone involved because A) You get to farm some damage, probably B) Your teams chance of winning goes from a whopping 25% to a staggering 35% because you didn't support the potato DD and died with it, even the DD who blew up in the 60th second gets 10% higher winrate because you let it die
-
Im not doing to "debate" whether or not a team is screwed if their destroyers yolo in and die in the 75th second, I feel like an idiot "debating" this.
-
I never said stay back, you go in to support your DD, but if he smokes up in the middle of the cap providing 0 vision, gets radared and dies in the 75th second there is nothing you can do. Pretending otherwise because you love this game -i love it too- is comical. You cant shoot the enemy DD if you never see it. I just had a 4 kill 1400XP amalfi game on a loss, it was a loss, I knew it was a loss in the 75th second when the DD on my flank did the underlined part. I played the remaining 18 minutes and 25 seconds for fun, a win was never possible and I knew this in the 75th second. So do you, if you are ever honest about this games flaws. Dmg farming cruisers and battleships cant do anything meaningful on their flank in the first 10 minutes if their DD blows up, thats just world of warships 101
-
Numbers don't back you up, they simply div with a carrier or a destroyer that doesn't explode in the 75th second to consistently perform well, solo winrates for the top 5% in battleships and non-radar cruisers are 10 percentage points lower than destroyers or radar cruisers because of this, when playing solo in ships like that sometimes you are simply on the suicide dd flank and your options are limited.
-
That is not what I meant, I was being hyperbolic but my point remains, in a dmg farming cruiser or a BB, you rely on the lolibote in front of you to not be suicidal to play a decent match. I'm going through the italian cruiser line now, every match where the DD in front of me suicides, I have very little game impact, every game where the DD in front of me is competent enough to stay alive and give me some vision of the red DD, I slap the red DD with sap a couple times to kill it or at least give my DD the upper hand. 9/10 games : Your DD dies, your flank is lost. The red DD dies, your flank won, the game is almost entirely one-dimensional in a cruiser without radar or a battleship. You can change the outcome to an extent by aiming properly, but if your DD is determined to die in the 75th second, you can't realistically do much to prevent your side from collapsing. Destroyers and radar cruisers decide who wins, everyone else is along for the ride.

I assume this is the MM of the future and just the way WG wanted it to be *sigh*

Could we worse, the 3 ships in this game that can be spotted could be smoke cruisers. Imagine spawning in a game like that -

Hydro doesn't do anything until the submarine is within proximity spotting distance -i.e 2km- i.e it would have made 0 difference, dead in the 7th second after being spotted. -

That was a nice touch, the only ships with any hope of ever locating the submarine can't do damage to it -
Depends on the ship. In a destroyer or a carrier and -to a lesser extent- in a radar cruiser, you decide who wins the match. In a battleship or a damage farming cruiser, you're just along for the ride, can't do anything if your DD blew up in the first minute, you can kite away, farm a bit and go back to port. Basically battleships and damage farming cruisers are "along for the ride" they have a 50% chance of being on the flank that gets farmed to death without shooting anything because their DD blew up early and they can't see anything - Destroyers and radar cruisers decide which team wins, everyone else is a tourist. The correct way to use monitor, if you use it at all, is look at stats of the destroyers, if they're red, you lose, unless your carrier is purple. The other ships are almost irrelevant to the result. Knowing this is a curse though, I wish I did not know this, because after awhile you stop playing anything other than destroyers and radar cruisers if you wish to have some influence on who wins the match.

There's a bug that allows submarines to be in the zone between submerged and surfaced, it lets you permanently spot and attack everyone as if you were surfaced, while also being impossible to spot with planes, hydro, radar or anything else and immune to all forms of damage. We need more people abusing this bug, the only way it gets fixed is if submarines have 90% winrate for about 4 months. -

COPlUM replied to SolanumTuberosumRex's topic in General Discussion
He should have dropped a depth charge that does 400 damage in the 7 seconds between him being spotted and him being dead -
Unicum submarine players, the same ones who were abusing the bug before it was well known, also hard counter destroyers by using the bug (keeping DDs permaspotted while submerged) and/or driving into a DD smoke cloud, surfacing and shotgunning the DD.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
COPlUM replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Found the only viable strategy to grind T6/T7 italian cruisers - Locate T9 battleship, there should be plenty in a T7 game - Enable smoke - Ram it Trento and Zara are effectively homing torpedoes with smoke and they do 100K damage per torpedo -
Even if the submarine is not abusing the bug, they can dive in the time it takes for your shells to land, they made immortal ships lol
-
They are in testing, we understand that, but they are bugged, surely that is a reason to pull them temporarily. They can hover between submerged and surfaced, allowing them to spot as if they were surfaced but remain undetected and immune to damage as if they were submerged. How is this not a valid reason to at least temporarily pull them out of the game. There's 39% WR pepegas with 75% WR in submarines because they watched a video on how to become gods by abusing a bug, this is not ok.
