Alternatively, they make 155mm mogami a premium and you get a free premium, but only the 155 variant, the one many people love. That would be very nice of them, they did this before with ships that no longer fit anywhere in the tech tree.

Yes, and schlieffen played even somewhat competently dumpsters a petro or any other cruiser in a clean 1v1. The underlined part however was clearly missing in this "happening" He was flat broadside to petro and shooting its belt, u know, the only way to lose that fight.

I have literally never played warships without the whole plethora of aslain's mods active, I couldn't imagine playing warships without, it has literally never crashed. Just keep the mods up to date and you'll be fine.

That news article wasn't about modstation or aslain mods, it was about ... other mods. Warning people they will get banned if they use them. The mods that will get you banned are obvious, you'll know when you see them, don't worry.

I see someone already answered the question, I took the liberty of adding more scumbaggery to it I just ranked out bronze and silver twice without losing a rank once. Just play destroyers, bottom tier yourself, speedboost in spawn, problem solved. Even potato cruisers and potato battleships specifically playing to save their star can't beat this, you'll just get way too much base XP. -

Because you're playing battleships in ranked. In terms of how much influence you have on the outcome of the match it goes Carrier > Destroyer > Radar cruiser > Battleship > HE spammer You're a good DD player, play them, losing streaks won't happen anymore Specifically : Play destroyers and bottom tier yourself. This way, even if you don't win, you save your star because A) You waste your speedboost in spawn to get a solo cap, more base XP B) You get more base XP simply for being bottom tier Doing this you will either win, or lose but save your star. Bottom tier destroyers is how you make ranked a one-way street, up, never down. -
You played 175 games in battleships, 150 of those was tier 2-3-4-5. The person who beat you up using petro could have beat you up in anything, literally anything, if he was in a hipper he would have beat you up too. You shouldn't be in a T10. This is not directed at you specifically, many made this mistake, I made it, don't play high tier before you crush people at low and mid tier. Go back to T5 until you do exceptionally well in T5, then play T6 until you do exceptionally well in T6, it's the only way to git gud.

Are subs MORE impactful than CV's???

"Well played" submarines are more impactful than CVs on their flank, because every enemy ship on that flank can effectively not play the videogame. Destroyers lose concealment (it's all they have) island cruisers can't sit where they're supposed to sit, battleships can't push when they're supposed to push. Overall however, CVs are still god, because they are god everywhere anywhere, not just one flank. -
I advocate monitor to anyone "old enough" to handle it, not only does it allow you to make better overall decisions like -the enemy CV is bad, I have more freedom- -The radar cruiser behind me is good, I can expect a well timed radar- It also allows you to make better micro decisions and guess with almost absolute certainty the build and playstyle of enemy ships : Good average damage 45% winrate thunderer? I can show broadside, he will never shoot AP. Good average damage 45% winrate minotaur? He's running smoke, not radar. Good average damage 40% winrate carrier? He'll go after battleships. Knowing such things before a match makes you win more, you could theoretically get punished by thunderer AP or minotaur radar if you do this, but it's so rare, 99/100 you have an advantage because the presumption is correct.

That's great, if the indicator now gives a rough idea of where the submarine is. But, my brain, I cannot comprehend, why did anyone think it was a good idea to make the indicator -for all intents and purposes- spam? The indicator was "it's somewhere on the map, we will ping random spots on the map, it could be anywhere lol" => Why do this? Are we being trolled? Someone thought this was a good idea and I just don't understand. Why does it take a controversial former CC from Finland to point out painfully obvious things. I don't even like the guy but you're making him a hero by only fixing things when he makes fun of you.- 77 replies

I have all the ships I want/need, I don't see the point in playing pokemon-collect-them-all with ships. I bought the occasional premium and premium time to support development. Now however, with submarines being implemented the way they are, making me a beta tester against my will against what can only be described as mega-cringe, I don't see why I would support this. I will keep playing the game with the ships I have, I just won't fund making the game worse from now on. If, by some miracle, they find a way to balance submarines properly, I'll spend money again, not because I need to but because I want to, until then I'm spending it on beer, possibly cheese, mostly beer.

Karma system is a joke, you should install the mod that replaces it with a meme, thats what it is, a meme, I just got reported twice after this ranked game for not carrying hard enough. I was 1v5 after 3 minutes, got 4 solo caps and 4 kills 1v5, I lost 2 karma because my teammates who all died in the first 3 minutes were not satisfied with how hard I carried them. If you lose karma for killing three quarters of the enemy team but not killing the entire enemy team, the system is a joke.

Several people on my team reported me and were angry that I did not win it for them. Its all my fault, I only got 4 kills and 4 solo caps, I should have gotten 6 kills and 4 solo caps. I deserved those reports, I suck. Karma system is a joke. Reported for not carrying me harder 3 minutes into the match = YOU ARE THE LAST HOPE 17 minutes and 4 kills later = Reported for not carrying me harder

That is on PTS, radius for depth charges was doubled in 11.4, on live you would not get 16 hits in that situation, you would get 2 or 3. In that same situation on live server he would have to ask the submarine nicely to please stay where he is, sit on top of it and do this for 7-10 minutes- 77 replies

I recall them testing something to this effect : The CV can spot you way more easily, but only for himself, not for his entire team. I don't know what if anything came of it. As to CVs in general, submarines are so messed up people dislike CVs less, don't even report them anymore, I preserve those for submarines in the 1st second of the game, regardless of what team they're on.

Submarines made low tier great again, loads of people in T1-T5, normally its 1v1 with 11 bots on both sides. Im having fun in my De Ruyter and Furutaka. Im still gonna play the game because I like this game, im just avoiding subs. It will also save me $15/month or whatever because there's no need for premium in low tier, idgaf about $15 but might as well buy beer with it. I'm not too sure the actual new players enjoy me being there but that is of no concern to me, smileyface.

It's not complicated, if a normal player plays submarines, they're fine, even in their current form. Against a submarine player who knows what he's doing you have 2 options : 1) Die and lose 2) Spend 7 minutes sailing to the other flank so you can play the videogame a bit before you die and lose There is no counter to well played submarines, none, you can have the sweatiest unicum 3 man div, they have 2 options, the ones I mentioned. You can't spot them, you can't radar them, you can't hydro them, you can't plane-spot them, they decide when you are lit, every time they surface, you are lit, you get farmed, if you dare shoot anyone while getting farmed, you're lit longer, so you just sit there and die. If they're abusing the bug, they don't even need to surface to keep you lit. There is genuinely nothing you can do against them, the mechanics to do something against them simply are not implemented. Even if by some miracle you find yourself right on top of it, it takes 10 minutes of depth charges to kill it, if by some miracle it's stupid and got itself hard spotted while surfaced, you can't shoot it from long range either, it dives in the time it takes for your shells to land. They are for all intents and purposes immortal, if played correctly.- 77 replies

Won't fix them being able to surface on your forehead, shotgunning you and diving before you realize you're dead. It won't fix them perma-spotting destroyers, which, with concealment no longer being a thing that exists, are now effectively cruisers with trash dps. It won't fix the comedy show that is seeing 9 ships dogpiling on top of a submarine for 10 minutes. They're comedy, the balancing that went into submarines is comedy. If this is what they're like after 2 years, one patch isn't going to magically get it right, we're in for years of cringe.

Oh you want counter-play? Ok - We will pinpoint random locations in a 10X10km area, you do airdrops if you're a battleship (you're out of luck if you're anything else) and hope for the best. If you are in a battleship, if you spend 20 minutes doing this and if the enemy team is nice enough to let you do this for 20 minutes, you might hit it with 1 depth charge (400 damage) -

They are not gatekeepers, you are playing submarines the way wargaming thought they would be played. There are ways to abuse submarines that make them god and these people want a fair fight, they don't wan't god in their game.- 77 replies

Excellent ideas, might I suggest lasers and some kind of force field generator, the 800 damage you take from 9 ships dogpiling on top of you for the entire duration of the match is too much. I'm thinking some kind of consumable that makes you immune to damage for 18 minutes.- 77 replies

I just spent 20 mins hard spotted in a DD against an 85+%WR sub, noticed my premium runs out tomorrow, i'm never extending it again. Subs made me free to play. It's like anything else really, vote with your wallet. A video game is literally you paying to have fun, they're no longer providing fun, so stop paying for it. Submarines will never go away, but they might become less cringe if they see red numbers, either in money spent or hours played. Best you can hope for is submarines won't be broken/gods one day in a future patch.

A bug which allows them to be submerged and surfaced simultaneously and makes them immune to all forms of spotting or damage permanently
