Donskoi, Buffalo and Riga all suffer from the same major design flaw : Not being Alaska or Krohnstadt. If you want to bring a cruiser, bring a good T8, that way you force the enemy team into also bringing a T8, there is less imbalance at T8. As to vladivostok vs soyuz : Both are good, especially on smaller maps, the T9 is not significantly better than the T8, it's an incremental improvement, similar to how the iowa doesn't feel like a full tier better than north carolina. If you're not a great player, as you said yourself (this is totally fine by the way, as long as you're learning and understand that you are in fact learning) - I always suggest making yourself bottom tier. This has many benefits : - You take up a less "valuable" slot on the team - You force the enemy team to also have someone bottom tier - If you end up in a bad team and you did reasonably well, it's super easy to save your star with a bottom tier ship Good players should take top tier ships, it allows them to carry just a bit harder. But good players sadly are often sick and tired of carrying in ranked and also just bottom tier themselves to make certain they save their star on a loss. Go with the T8, the T9 is only marginally better and takes up a T9 slot. In cruisers definitely go with a T8 unless you have krohnstadt or alaska. If you take a tech tree T9 you're cursing your team, cuz the enemy team will have a krohnstadt or alaska and you'll be in a donskoi or an ibuki or whatever else meme ship The only tech tree T9 that can kinda/sorta put up a fight against those things is Riga, but just play tallinn or baltimore instead, they are tech tree monsters at T8, there aren't any premium T8s that bully you in those.

He is 42% - The lowest winrate you can get playing solo, it is only achievable by being consistently turbo-useless in a destroyer, it has to be a destroyer. The only way to go lower is play in a division with other people who are also turbo-useless. Cruisers and battleships can not go under 44% even if they go AFK for thousands of games. But to hit 42% in a destroyer you actually have to be consistently more useless than someone who is AFK, so like, you have to get in the way of other destroyers doing their thing while you are dying and being turbo useless, stuff like that. The specimen found a way to be more useless than someone who hits battle and goes AFK, that's impressive, in a weird way.

This is a fair point, if we made destroyers ten times larger, gave them 100.000HP, 457mm guns and 450mm belt armor and named them "battleships" - these destroyers could fight battleships like a man to make Deak120 very happy. We could rename the videogame world of battleships while we're at it. And those damn cruisers, those damn cruisers with their rudder, and their WASD keys, CHEATERS! All of them. They should just turn broadside and sit still so you can blap them. CHEATING COWARDS WITH YOUR RUDDERS!!! Some of them even accelerate and decelerate so I can't oneshot them in my battleship. Can you believe this? Unbelievable, wargaming please fix this cheat immediately. Turn destroyers into battleships with 15.000hp and 120mm guns, also turn cruisers into battleships with 25.000hp and 200mm guns. I get to keep my 100.000hp and 457mm guns, obviously. And you have to make all of them promise me to fight me like a man, with 6 times less HP and 5 times smaller guns smileyface

Short range AA does nothing against any carrier, planes don't have to be in that aura for more than 0,1 seconds. Medium/Long range does something, kinda. Flak is what allows you to play the videogame against potato CVs, without flak they would dominate you too. Good CV players take 0 damage from it, but they will kill you and do pushups on your grave anyway, they picked the superior class, you're a peasant. tldr : Short range does nothing, medium/long range does, flak does a lot but only against potato CVs. AA captain skills and defAA consumable do nothing, because unless you have all these skills and consumables and the critical mass of them means the CV gets one less strike in on you, they don't benefit you at all, it's just copium. Very bad copium too, because AA skills don't change how many strikes a CV gets on you, it just increases how many plane-shot-down ribbons you get, planes are just ammo, you wasted skillpoints to make the CV waste some ammo. You're not supposed to be able to deny a drop or even be able to reduce how many drops the CV gets. The skills, sector reinforcement, consumables, it's all there as a coping mechanism, make you feel as if you stood a chance, you didn't, the CV is playing a singleplayer minigame and you're the bot, sorry.

What is the last fun "Premium" ship that you actually bought (and that was available ONLY for Doubloons or Real Money in Premium Shop)?

I can't be disappointed, ran out of missions/containers and missing 1 piece of the collection. Or does this make me turbo disappointed?

If you get ohio cuz it's actually good, the other options are all about what you think could be fun. I got slava last week, got a triple citadel on a yamato 22km away, i lold, so it's fun and therefor worth it. It's not a particularly strong ship though in the sense that if your opponent is running the brain.exe mod, he angles and you're an iowa without armor.

Should DD players at least get spread evenly between teams according to their DD stats?
COPlUM replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
DD main is hard work, sometimes we need a break and we play like US server DD mains : - Cruisers risk their lives capping, get in that cap, hindenburg. - Battleships spot by tanking a million damage with their face, go spot, slava. - We speedboost around in the back farming. -
Sometimes it's obvious from the start, if a ship spawns and does a 90° turn to drive to another flank for no reason at all, you know he's 44%. I just like knowing in detail who on the map is competent and who is not. With no intention of saying anything about it, I just need to know to adjust my play. It has immense influence on my decisionmaking, for example if there's 4 destroyers and 3 caps, one of our destroyers is terrible, the other 3 including myself are good. I will go with the terrible one, assuming he will die immediately, to keep that flank alive when he drives into groningen hydro or whatever it is potato DD players do to get killed in the 2nd minute. These assumptions are almost never wrong. I like monitor so much because periods when I'm using it I can visibly see my winrate curve go up, I'm just making more informed decisions. Using monitor also increases my karma, because battleship players cringe when the DD in front of them explodes in the 2nd minute, they are grateful another DD (me) anticipated this would happen and is there to take over. If I wasn't there, their entire match would be kiting away and getting farmed.

The game is designed to become harder as you go up the tiers, everything hits harder. This is especially true for DDs. Wargaming did a good job of designing it in such a way that you learn as you go, you're introduced to some mild radar at T7, bit more at T8 etc. The problem is everyone is rushing to T10, they stay there, learn bad habits and never unlearn them. This is a problem for every class, but it's a huge problem for DDs. If you play DDs at T10 the way you would at T6, you're gonna have a bad time, about 2 minutes worth of bad time -
Collect data on how, why and to what extent submarines in their current state are hilariously overpowered in the right hands and entirely useless in the wrong hands. Maybe this is also why they are making us suffer through this on live servers. I mean, they cant post an ad asking pepegas, specifically, to come test the ship.

When do we get the next break from submarines?
COPlUM replied to Shirakami_Kon's topic in General Discussion
Submarine testing will resume until morale improves, says so in the last patch notes. -

I'm leaving for another year or whatever, I disagree with how nice you are and how much patience you have with some of these ... specimens. But I do respect it in a weird way, I could not do what you do, I would have unironically blown my brains out by now. -

COPlUM replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
That too is balanced by the randomness of it, over thousands of games, just like how the average winrate of all your teammates would have been 50%, your team would have had the stronger ships 50% of the time. You're talking about a game, or 10 games, or 100 games. I'm talking about thousands. Over thousands of games, the only differentiating factor is you, not your team, not the ship line-up, you. -
Battleships responding differently to Q and E keys?
COPlUM replied to Purnylla's topic in General Discussion
It's supposed to respond differently to the Q and E keys. Q makes it go left, E makes it go right. -

idk how some people keep doing it man, I can do it a couple days a year, I get tilted and leave, guys like dfens and forlorn left this cesspool after thousands of real answers because their brain was just rotting away trying to help people. Pete has been doing this every hour of every day for years, i'd have blown my brains out by now. It's like drowning in an ocean of stupid cringe, you can swim but you're not getting anywhere, there's just more cringe in every direction. I'm out, see you guys in six months or whatever idk. -
are you guys too geting a lot of free stuff from WG ?
COPlUM replied to czolgfilip2's topic in General Discussion
I got prinz eugen from my first ever recruiting station container, afaik by far the most expensive thing you can get in those if you were to buy it with doubloons. It fit well in my fleet too because I didn't have a ship like it at T8, much appreciated. -
It's also just personal like do you feel like you need it? How much use do you feel you get out of it? You can't do a poll on this, go with the majority and assume you are or aren't missing out. Like priority target for battleships, until a year ago when it was one point people said "haha you don't have priority target, NOOB" - now it's two points and people say "Haha you have priority target, NOOB" - Just build your captains the way you're comfy with. He should try RPF, keep it if he likes it, ditch it if he doesn't.

Should DD players at least get spread evenly between teams according to their DD stats?
COPlUM replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
What's garbage about it? It's random. Just like every other war-type game and every other multiplayer shooter game. The randomness is what makes it fair, because after thousands of games, the average winrate of all the teammates and opponents you ever had is 50%, making you the only differentiating factor, that's what a matchmaker is supposed to achieve, only a random system can do that. -
whats the new research ship
COPlUM replied to SilentEnimLegesInterArma's topic in General Discussion
Please no more unsubstantiated crap today, I had enough to last me through winter. You do not know this, many people are playing the ship and doing the best they can to see it released in a good state. None of the current RB ships were busted either, they're all unique but none of them are busted in the same way thunderer was. RB ships have been suprisingly well balanced so far -

Sevastopol T10 Russian cruiser. tldr : 380mm guns with improved pen angles, a unique heal and DCP with fast reload and 90 seconds action time (looks almost immune to fire?) But only 6 guns, absolute trash DPM, no radar and a krohnstadt hull, which is nothing at all like petro or even stalin hull, not tanky at all, it's huge and it eats damage of both AP and HE variety for breakfast, lunch and diner Don't quote me on this, I don't have a glass ball, but it doesn't look like a must-have RB ship, if there's an RB ship you want now, get it, enjoy it. -
If you look at submarines objectively, there's potential for them to make the game better, not worse. When a match is too tactical and "campy" to be any fun, submarines can make things more dynamic, make you reposition, make you move. In their current iteration though, they are oppressive and frustrating. I'm not a game dev, I won't suggest how to make them a part of this game, I have no idea, what I can tell you is their current iteration made the game drastically less enjoyable for me and everyone I know, literally everyone.
