How do you get this patch?

I have those, but not 100 ships. I think it's 50 ships in port.
  2. Got a day of premium from some mission or somesuch so I decided to grind my Missouri a bit for extra cash. Went into one battle which went as normal. Which means I move forward while the rest of my team's BBs stay far behind. Except for the bottom tier Tirpitz who actually had some balls. Later in the battle I run low on health and the enemy Missouri was around the corner just some 5km away, so I went for the ram. Then I noticed the name of the player I rammed under his emblem. Quite a fancy emblem at that. After the BBs noticed the enemy had mostly died off they got the courage to advance. The Yamato driver then had some choice words to say to our Harugumo captain because he wasn't currently capping. We won half a minute later on points. The Harugumo player was such a bad player, hardly did anything /s. @Crysantos and I also did rather well.

Ship you love. That everyone else hates

Wait, the Gaede is a disliked ship? I thought it was awesome. I mean, for me it was the first taste of hydro on a DD. Otherwise, I've previously said, like some others in this thread, that I like the Emerald. She carried me through last ranked sprint. I have very meh stats in the Colorado since I played her when I was still learning the game, but I still remember that she was the first BB I actually liked. Likewise, the Gneisenau was enjoyable, but when you've also got the Bismarck it kinda pales in comparison. Pepsi was perfectly good at tier 7 and is even better at tier 6. The Aurora was a reward I got sometime when RU cruisers were new and I haven't really heard anyone say anything good about her but she's nice to play. Also, that turning circle is godly. Oh, and everyone seems to hate the Kebab, not necessarily playing her, but against her, does that still count?
  4. Yeah. It surprised me too. I think he was firing HE though, but he did fire at a lot of different targets at different angles, so I assume the Mino just caught him with HE loaded. Or, like many others, he forgot that UK BBs have AP as well. But I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt in this case. It's also interesting how often teams like that also fail to cap the cap they congregate at.
  5. Look at that. We had two sets of border patrol. And even with that we somehow managed to lose.

    [Leaked infos] Next rework..

That doesn't seem fair. BBs can so easily be devstriked by DDs. They should get some protection against that.

    AP Penetration Query

With the Emerald you really have to aim for the citadel. It's citadels or overpens. It's not a small target though, so she gets deleted easily enough.

    Game Mechanics Suggestions

I'm with the 15s, 20s, 30s, for DDs, cruisers and BBs respectively crowd. But the 15s for DDs is far less important than the 30s for BBs. No ship should be able to fire their guns at maximum frequency and still go undetected between shots. Having ships constantly blink in and out of view is something WG has said they want to reduce. I think it's okay to have fairly simple rules for the gun bloom time, but not as simple as they are now. I think they had damage from grounding in early alpha or beta, but they removed it because it wasn't fun. Also, with the way flooding currently works, if you get flooding while your damage control is on cooldown you take massive amounts of damage. I've heard that they're thinking of reworking how DoT works, probably because of the CV rework, which is a good thing. I don't think the way DoT works now is all that good. Sounds good in theory, but I think it would give DDs far too much of an advantage in smoke and ambush situations. Also, what @DFens_666 said about that being combined with TASM is a big thing since it'd make you practially have constant hydro against bigger ships. Absolutely not. The game is focused on doing damage too much as it is. We don't need more of that. It's very hard to pinpoint exactly what actions are actually contributing the most to winning, so just winning will have to do. I'd even link credits income to wins if I didn't think that'd be really demoralising for players. As a sidenote: top player keeping his star in ranked should be removed for the same reason. We had Bastion mode. Very few players liked it so it was removed. Otherwise, troop transportation is in Operation Dynamo. I think we should have more ops like that. But as for randoms. Eh, I'm not sure. Just having caps seem to be too hard for many players to grasp. I don't really care about historical operations specifically, I just want more ops in general.

    Sweet! It worked. Thankee!

    RL for Destroyers.

Actually, during ranked RL works quite well for the Kebab. You'll have to sacrifice some combat strength for it, but it does help when there's fewer ships around and you can't always rely on others doing the spotting for you. It can make you a very scary DD hunter. For randoms though, eh, I'd rather have more fighting power. In general though, pick it if you think you can afford it. It's good, especially if you know how to use it, but not crucial.

    What is ?

You do get XP for capping, yes, but it's maybe the fourth best way to earn it after damage, damage and more damage.

How many selected you as target?

Good luck! Try not to die!

  14. I tend to not use the ignore list, I usually just ignore ignorable posts anyway. And sometimes, those posts can be funny. As far as I know, it's a limit of all of the reactions. And I've run out of them using likes one time, but I rarely use them normally.
  15. Well, anyone who's read and remembered more than three of my posts would probably know which ship I'd pick. Clearly the Emerald. Or perhaps the Kebab. It's one or the other. Or both, because I'm a rebel like that.

How many selected you as target?

I usually don't fire to increase my spotting range, I just start turning as soon as I get spotted and hit the spoodbeest when the PT numbers get higher. What usually spots you in the beginning is almost always other DDs, and none of them are at an advantage against a Kebab that starts to kite at 9.7km. Aggressive Kebab starts have netted me the full 12. At least I'm fairly confident I've seen that number. But yeah, since you're the first one spotted everyone just target you more or less automatically, even if they don't have a fair shot.

    Radar Discussion Megathread

I did not say that playing radar ships is easy. I said that radar is a powerful tool. That does not necessarily mean the ships themselves are easy to play; they are cruisers after all (Missouri not counted). But the thing is, you chose to focus on that little comment, which I used as one of the arguments for why there are so many radar ships about. The funny thing about that is that it doesn't actually matter how powerful radar is for that argument to work; players just have to believe it's powerful. And you can just take a glance at the rest of the forum to confirm that yes, a lot of players do think that. In essense, you decided to play the ad hominem card on a part of an argument that wasn't even important. Good job. You also conveniently skipped that I do well enough in the other three radar ships I have (not counting Edinburgh for obvious reasons). I've also earlier talked about why I don't do so well in some ships and how radar fits into that. See, I know that radar is very powerful, so I want to use that tool. And I do. I go up, radar some DD and get him killed. But ships like Donskoi and Moskva aren't really suitable for such aggressive play, so I take a lot of fire and exchanging a radar ship for a DD doesn't always work out that well. It's kinda like how you see a perceived weakness, and so you lunge in with an ad hominem instead of using proper arguments, despite it not being the optimal choice.

Really? What stops you from using proper arguments of an acceptable level then? If you want to argue at all, then do that without stat shaming. If you can not, then do not try to think you have a point.

Then it's good that it'd work out well for DD vs cruiser balance as well. The extra pen is not a problem for other DDs; the DPM is though. Not, it's not. DDs aren't in any way universal. They're the least played type other than CVs. The US cruisers are good at hiding behind islands with their high shell arcs and the RU ones are good at long distance open water combat (like the radar-less heavy cruisers) with the Moskva even able to bowtank Yamato shells. The rise of radar ships is mostly because there have been more released lately and players find the Wooster to be very strong, which makes them grind for it, which means more US light cruisers in play. Also, radar is very powerful. Players like having powerful tools, so they play the ships that has them. Som why do cruisers have better survivability and do more damage than DDs then? Not to mention AA capability. There' no contest there. Listening to you it seems the main reason radar can't go away is that players would whine too much. Not implying you're whining, just that you seem to put so much emphasis on whining being a major factor behind WGs decisions. And you better believe there would be whining if radar got gone.

    Radar Discussion Megathread

Well, "supposed to be". DDs don't actually kill BBs. BBs kill BBs. When I play cruisers I find that having more cruisers is always nice, since that means the BBs have more targets that isn't you. Otherwise, I think the most important part of how I want the line-up to be is to have fewer BBs.
  22. Sorry for being lazy, but I don't feel like watching that right now. Is it possible you could give some tl:dw on that?

    Radar Discussion Megathread

The reason that's worst for cruisers is that there are fewer easy targets for the BBs to shoot at. If you're the only one out of two cruisers you have two and a half BBs that will shoot you the moment they think they have a half-decent shot. If there are more cruisers then the BB fire will be more spread out. Speaking about averages of course. Also, if you have good enough islands to hide from the BB shells a CV might not be so bad if you have a decent AA-build. I tend to prefer having CVs in my Cleveland battles for that reason. DDs can spot cruisers, yes, but they aren't likely to deal a great amount of damage to them. Spotting is a main part of a DD's job after all. And that DPM is also more lethal to other DDs. I think a theoretical DPM comparable to CAs (not Des Moines) is fine though, with some 200k DPM being the limit. Gearing has 216k unmodified, but also has those high moon arcs, and it's an old and tried ship, so it's fine. Though fires vs cruisers isn't much damage. Fire damage in general is actually not that significant, even against BBs. Never heard of that. Most I've heard on the forums is that players don't use it. Got any numbers on it? That's just your prediction. I don't think it holds much water. Possibly because we expect different things from one type of ship being used as a baseline for balance. And because you think DDs are too strong against cruiers, which they aren't. As I said to DFens earlier, DDs may spot cruisers, but they don't actually do a whole lot of damage to them. DDs don't even deal a whole lot of damage to BBs for that matter, and they're supposed to be their counter.
