    For all the people complaining about the mindless torp spamming, I'd like to complain about the mindless and far more constant AP spamming from battleships. I mean, that just makes the game less fun for everyone, so let's just cap BBs to two per team and nerf the crap out of them. That should make for a better game. But seriously, why is launching torpedoes not considered acceptable gameplay? Is it becaus the big bad torpedoes hurt your feelings when they hit? Is it so wrong for some destroyers to use the weapon that gives them an acceptable amount of damage when their other options are severely limited?

  4. This is a bad idea. It's taking what's already the greatest source of damage in the game, and buffs it, especially against targets you can nuke with proper aiming anyway.

    T8 isn't bad if you're decent at it. I make good money there (no premium, no economy flags). Also make money at T9, although there you have to play well to avoid going into the reds. I've not checked the actual numbers, but I think if you make on average about 200k, you're good. One hint is to use the credit bonus flags on the high tier ships. The more you make per game, before repair costs, the more you earn with the flags. It might not make up the entire cost at T10, but it sure helps a lot. If you have a 20% flag, and you earn 250k before deductions, that's another 50k extra, which pays entirely for two premium consumables.

    Battleships are the easiest to play. Plenty of time to fire a salvo, check the map, hit one of the WASD keys, go for a cup of coffee, and then come back and fire the next salvo. Whether cruisers or destroyers come second depends on the game. Carriers are hardest.

    I got a new record for highest personal score. 4141 base xp. Finally broke the 4k barrier. A combination of high damage, two caps, and a little bit of cap defence farming. Just a shame it was the second win for the day. Although that means the victory screen actually shows the base xp, since I didn't have any xp mods. Replay.

    An idea to make fighters more relevant

    What's so hard about giving a ribbon for disrupting an air squadron? It's a simple check. Chasing away someone isn't nearly the same thing, as that requires all the behaviour logic and stuff. If you're shooting enemies in the cap, you're not getting the potential xp and credits. You get a lot more than that. Farming hits on enemies in a cap gives you loads of xp, which is far more than you could get from the actual cap.

    Just that one thing. Typo? T4 don't meet T2. Two Blyskas is bad news, though. It means there are two ships with a lot less health than a battleship for you to farm damage on.

    So you're saying that people aren't allowed to play certain ships unless they shell out tons of cash for a better computer? You can also add those who have their computers randomly start to reshuffle their midget porn (a.k.a. any Windows user), and any instances of game crashes, load fails, or other errors.

    There's a mission, which attracts DDs. There are tons of BBs around with the German ones, which also attracts DDs. If you think there are so many DDs around, play CV or CL/CA. Those are good at dealing with DDs.

    Look, if you say you're not going to tell someone what to do, don't tell that someone what to do. Wouldn't that be sort of the same as cap defence? Doesn't really matter if the enemies cap it after, you still reduced the capping progress a bit, just like you'd either reduce plane drop precision or made them turn around and drop later. However it may be, it would be better to increase the impact an AS loadout can have on the game. If it's a crap loadout, it needs to be improved (either by making it more balanced, or changing mechanics to fit it better), not encouraged.

  16. Met up with Capra76 on my team when I was going for the DD victories mission. We ended up sealclubbing pretty hard. Wasn't too far off a Double Strike and Kraken after I died.

    I wasn't arguing either way, just trying to rerail a derailed argument that went into useless specifics. Without stats on it, we don't know. Personally, my experience is that it's more common to have more bottom tier ships than top tier ships in three-tier spreads, but I've not payed that much attention to exact numbers. I've just noticed that if I'm top tier, I rarely have many equals, and if I'm bottom tier, I'm rarely alone or mostly so.
  18. I've had at least decent results in Ashigara. Basically, you just need to be much more careful while playing a cruiser than normally. You need to make effective use of islands. Make sure as few battleships as possible can fire at you, while you have a clear shot at your preferable targets. I also would worry less about showing a broadside and more about constantly WASDing in irregular patterns (unless you know no one's firing at you). Most cruisers are accurate at max range, so use that range whenever you face battleships. At that range it's also easier to dodge shots.

    I think the point was that if the vast majority of ships in a game are bottom tier, it's not nearly as bad as if you're the sole bottom tier ship. I mean, recently I was in a T7 battle in König. But there were only three T7 ships and two T6 ships per team, leaving seven T5 ships. In those games it doesn't feel nearly as much as if you're in bottom tier as if half the ships are T7, a few T6, and only you and maybe another at T5.

  22. Which means it favours high-damaging ships who let their teammates die while they survive to the end of the battle while plinking away at enemies when the battle is already lost. It also works against ships who risk their lives trying to cap.

    I'm gonna guess on a desync. Happened to me a few times. Worst case, torpedoes didn't render at all for me. I've had them appearing first when they were already past me, or been hit by torps I didn't see even when I was looking in the right direction. One case only one or two torps didn't render.

    Yeah, same for me. It went horrible for me with my usual playstyle, but once I adapted to a sniper mindset, she's very enjoyable. Good range, great precision, and fast enough to keep out of range if need be. I remember one game on Ocean (probably my last Ocean game) where I actually outranged every single ship. That was a very fun battle. Never got hit unless I made the choice. Which is how you should play that ship, since you never want to get hit even once. Well, once is okay. On the second hit you sink.
