    That's my guess as well. If they could sell them, we probably would've seen it by now. On the other hand, they're really just standard ships with the downside of not being able to get pretty make-up. I think Takao should be handled just like any other ARP ship in terms of income. Giving them the benefit of a camo (whether free or not) would be appreciated, but isn't strictly necessary.

    Cyclones make CA torpedoes more useful, and if you have radar, that's a lot easier to use, since you can pretty much always know if there's a DD around and close enough. What you can't do is snipe, which is what a lot of CAs do (and are good at), especially against BBs.

    With regards to the ship imbalance, I think WG should implement a 20% bonus to credits earned for the ship type most lacking in the MM queue. Just not sure how to count CVs.

    I've not had this problem. It's rarely an issue with smoke, and with other consumables they activate immediately. I've had more problems with the enter key not registering (I have a crappy keyboard) opening chat, and I fire off all available consumables instead...

    I've not had that bad issues, just slightly worse loading times since one or two patches ago, as well as a few games that failed to load. At least I've not "seen" any invisible torpedoes in a while.

    Yeah, after that earlier change it became a lot better (and lots of posts here about it being a great change). However, in a more recent patch (most or second most recent), things changed for the worse again for a lot of players from my understanding. It's still not as bad as it used to be, though. I load between 30 seconds early to 5 seconds late, depending on my computer, and I tend to be among the last to load (according to the dots on the loading screen). Not counting loading failures where I get stuck on the loading screen and have to restart, which happens once or twice every other week.

    A player playing with a somewhat bad but acceptable computer should be allowed to play the game. Having a small disadvantage is minor compared to not being allowed to play the game at all. Most players who get late into game don't do it KNOWING they arrive late, though, so the comparison is still invalid. Also, a player arriving late to a game gets to start the game on the bench, and possibly be switched in later, so that is also different.

    For all the talk about realism and the accuracy of torpedoes, what about guns? They historically had a very bad hit rate. There are several help systems that make the accuracy far better in the game, since it's an arcade game. Point is, realistic accuracy is not a factor in this game (other than perhaps the individual differences between ships), and don't pretend it is. Also, gotta say, for all that's said about the 20 km torpedoes, they work well enough with Torpedo Acceleration (which means 16 km), if you know how to use them. Kagero is my highest damage DD, and I use those torps with her, along with (for the greater part of her history with me) Torpedo Reload Booster. I prefer to go in as close as possible, as that naturally gives a higher hit rate, but with the range I still have the option to deny zones, force turns, make those long-range shots (especially around islands), or aim for entire clusters of ships. If your torpedo range isn't significantly longer than your detectability range, you just can't do those things. I've tried the other torps, but they're not as versatile, even if they're theoretically "better". Torps that fizzle out can't do anything, while even slow and easily spotted torps can actually hit something. If you really wanted to avoid the "one trick pony" bit, you never should've reduced the range. The range is versatility. Not the speed. Not the damage. The short range torps are the "one trick pony" conversion of the ships. For other the average player, they've never been overpowered, or even average powered. They've always been on the lower half.

    Best match today was probably a fast Isokaze match. Got three torp kills in the slightly over six minutes the match lasted. Replay. Also had a 1.9k base xp loss, because team lottery.

    I think the "paying for it" is one of the strongest arguments. Most of the game is free, but this is paid content. "Just mod it" is just crap in the face.

    If that's all you're measuring, you can get by with a ten year old computer, if it was reasonably good when it was new. Meeting that standard is far from enough to reliably load on time, however.
  15. Driving cars poorly gets people killed. Playing ships poorly may reduce your team's chance of winning, which at worst costs some enjoyment.
  16. For me it's about 50/50. I designate the cap (or usually caps) where the majority of the force is, with most consideration for DDs. Regardless of which ship I'm playing, and where I spawn. I think that's about the worst mentality around here, and in the long run, it only drives people away, and hinders people from growing as players. Criticism is fine. Abuse, insults, and misbehaving is not. But as I've said elsewhere, I don't think the overall chat atmosphere here is that bad. Could certainly be better, but I don't agree that it's a cesspool.     That only holds true if you always only load in minutes into the game. And in that case, I wonder if you can even play decently. I have a six year old computer that's basically a crap work computer (although with a half decent graphics card), and I load just fine, most of the time. However, if it's something that only happens occasionally, no, it's not selfish. If it's a bot, why would there be such a delay to start to move? Granted, I don't know how crappy the bots are, but is there any problem at all to just start sailing when the game starts?
  18. Thank you. I think I gave you a compliment, but I might've forgotten. Your team there was like most of my teams today. A third of them managed to die before I get to kill the first of the enemies, and that's basically rushing to the centre and torping something. Crap teams happen, and no amount of carrying is enough. Salt is fine, as long as it's not hurling insults and abuse at someone. König is a fine ship. What with the matchmaker seemingly giving her more T7 matches than anything else, she still holds her own. It's rare I'm below the top three. Gets very few citadels (I get most of them on cruisers at max range), but that's a two-way street, so tanking capacity is great.

    Those gun buffs don't mean much if they still can't compete with DDs of other nations, since USN DDs already have better torpedoes in some aspects, and the SN DDs (a.k.a. fast CLs) are much better with their guns, survivability, and speed. I just question why WG thinks torpedoes isn't legitimate gameplay. Annoying to avoid torps... It's utterly annoying to avoid shells all the time. I mean, they hurt me, and that's annoying. We should just limit all artillery gameplay, because that's just an annoying aspect of the game. If there are that many DDs, how do you expect a DD to slip past all other DDs to get to the larger ships? CLs and CAs counter DDs not by being able to spot them easily, but being able to shoot them down when they are spotted. And if there are that many DDs, spotting them shouldn't be much of an issue.

    Pushing you to do stupid things, like what? Stop being intimate with the border? And no, 80% of battles aren't domination for me. Probably the majority, but I wouldn't say above 60%.

    So if you have some temporary problems you can't predict, you shouldn't play the game at all. What an incredibly selfish mindset. I usually load in time. After the last major patch, loading times have been worse by 20-40 s. Sometimes I don't load in time. Sometimes I don't load at all, and have to restart the game. One time I had to go answer the door in the middle of a match because apparently there's something called a "world" that exists outside the game. But sure, you use your reports for what you want, and I'll use my reports for what I want.

    Being able to take back reports is a good idea. While you should certainly exercise caution, mistakes do happen, and if it's something like that it's something you might want to fix. So you want to report people for having a laggy connection, a slow computer, or for simply playing a sometimes unstable game, even without mods? That's just one of the crap attitudes that plagues this game. Would be so much better if all that just disappeared. Then again, as far as I've heard, most bot reports are false anyway, and are treated as such by WG.
