  1. Honestly, I'd rather sail with a team of players having all knowledge from him than the random potatoes I usually end up with.

    Kamikaze R i love it

More like Kamikaze is one of the few IJN not nerfed too much. Speed's not bad, and stealth is excellent. And ever since the overall gun nerf, I've found her to have relatively workable guns. Fletcher's just incredibly strong in all ways, with no real weakness. Well, for a destroyer.

    Kamikaze R i love it

I mostly just use Kamikaze to get a little bit of extra experience to my captains. Sadly, today I only ended up with teams that couldn't shoot their way out of a wet paper bag. Most fun I had sealclubbing was taking the Vampire out for a spin, though. 70k damage, but not quite Kraken. I was laughing the whole way. Especially when I detonated a Phoenix with an HE shell. It's just such a fun ship to play.
  4. The operation isn't hard, if at least a few people have a clue. I usually just do the lazy thing and place myself in the middle and snipe at everything until it's time to take those two ships up north. Fuso's an easy ship to perform well in (and in randoms, still has my damage record, as well as outperforming my T7 BBs). Got a lot of DPM. If you can hit things. Those cruisers you meet in that operation only have tin armour and no citadel, so there's nothing but overpens all day long. The best ship for that operation is still Cleveland, though. Not that I have one. And say what you want about Jingles; he's at least reasonably competent at the game, which is more than you can say about the average player.
  5. The basic Kuma-class outfit is one of the ugliest in the game, and the early art is kind of crap. Tama has been at the far bottom for me for a long while, which only really began to change with her saury CG, which looks really good. This one follows very well. Might actually recruit her for it. Still, at the moment I need blueprints for Unryuu and maybe Chikuma. Shoukaku best CV. Accept no substitutes. I don't really mind Ryuujou, but the fandom's ruined her image. It's really more like a bright indigo.
  6. Mogami with only seaplane bombers can still attack, unlike Akitsumaru, so she's not completely useless. That helps for the S node (which is also rather trollish), and maybe to clear some subs from the first node. The rest are night, so no planes. I think I still got AS+ on the boss with my setup, though. Of course, I also had a ducky to help with the air nodes, but I don't think that affects air superiority. I've used seaplane fighters before, but this is the first event where I've used a lot of them, and it helped a lot. Even someone like Pola with 2-plane slots can secure better air combat results if you stuff her with fighters. Yeah, RNG is the name of the game. There's a reason I ran with Iyo rather than another DD for better firepower, since her being able to negate all the night cut-in attacks is a huge boon for consistency. But there's also been events where I ran the exact same setup as someone else (or slightly better), and yet I had absolute crap luck with it. For the record, what I actually used was: Mogami, lvl 82: 2x 15.5 cm secondary guns, Command Facility, Ro.44 Fighter. (Would place 5th if not for the CF.) Poi, lvl 163: 2x 10 cm + AAFD guns, Type 3 Sonar, 40 mm Bofors. (Sonar for OASW in first sub node, and taking out the potential second sub in the night sub node.) Iyo, lvl 56: 3x boilers, turbine. (All the dodges, including within the first three for extra dodge in Vanguard Formation.) Teruduki, lvl 94: 2x 10 cm + AAFD guns, Type 13 Radar Kai, 40 mm Bofors. (Dakka, dakka, dakka.) Shigure, lvl 96: 2x 10 cm + AAFD guns, Skilled Lookouts. (May have given her a flare shell at some point.) Yamashirou, lvl 97: 2x big guns, AP shell, Model 12 Zuiun. Fusou, lvl 98: 2x big guns, AP shell, Model 12 Zuiun.
  7. You can do it with seaplane bombers (I had one Model 12 Zuiun each on the BBVs and one Ro.44 fighter on Mogami, but the last can be replaced with a couple bombers, I believe), although then you probably need those two and Mogami. The airbase is also very close, so you can use very short-ranged interceptor fighters to get better air superiority (I use 2+1 fighters). You still basically need to get parallel or T-advantage on the boss to succeed, though, as well as luck with high health ships at the boss, plus no one damaging the BBVs during that fight. And they need to be last in the fleet. I'd also recommend Fusou and Yamashirou as the first ships to use blueprints on. They're two of the best battleships in the game, and Fusou has carried more than a few event maps by herself for me.
  8. It's more that they have a relatively poor grasp of good game design. Past events have shifted a lot in difficulty. The winter event one or two years ago was ridiculously easy. Doing the entire event on Hard was easily easier than the last map here on Easy. Although the winter events tend to be easier. Teruduki best duki. I'm totally not saying that because she was my first duki. She's probably my second main DD overall, which is saying a lot. This event's E-4 is ridiculous. I mean, I've completed it, but I've also played the game for nearly three years, got a couple of Hard mode medals, most ships I'm using in events at level 90+, and I've got a bunch of high-level equipment (although granted, not the top level stuff you get from ranking rewards and some Hard mode event rewards). I don't think I should've had all the trouble I had on E-4 Easy if it was reasonably balanced. It should be completable for someone without too many high level ships. First event ever I did I could've completed on Medium if I had the resources (but I was running low, so Easy it was). That was with only one or two kai ni ships, some not even kai, mostly starter equipment, and most ships at level ~40, some of which I got during the event. This E-4 is significantly harder on Easy than the final map of that event on Medium.
  9. Now I'm done with the event. Just went with Easy on the last stage, because [edited]RNG. Iyo tanked well (less firepower, but more consistent runs), and Yamashiro killed all of the bosses. Other than the drop mentioned below, I only got one new ship (not counting rewards), presented by Kamikaze: Oh, and since I took that sceenshot of my totally not inflated resources, it's easy to calculate the total event costs from there: 73k fuel, 28k ammo, 29k steel, 29k bauxite, and 273 buckets. Well, approximately, since I've also done some quests on the side (like finally getting B44 done; good riddance Naga, Ina, and Ika), and some expeditions. That's actually the best drop I got the entire event. I've been waiting to do those quests for years. I have a few ships that can OASW with full ASW equipment: Yuubari, Kashima, Asashimo, Hibiki, Satsuki, and Ushio. Maybe others, but those are the top picks. If I need more than that, DEs, Poi, and Isuzu can do OASW with just one sonar, or none. I find that that's enough for my ASW needs. Oh, and Taiyou. She's a bit special. But other than Isuzu and Taiyou, you rarely need more than two or three ASW specialist DDs.

MM needs a serious look at.

T8 ships have a habit of getting T10 games, but T6 ships have, for the same reason, more of a habit of getting into T7 games. Things might change a little with the new DD line, once the masses get up in tiers. Either way, your impressions are probably not accurate to what you actually get. We get threads like this all the time, and they invariably turn out to be false.

The DD spam has to stop

So the biggest problem with having a lot of DDs in matches is that other ships don't even try to go for the objectives or support their teammates?

    Ocean

I still remember when I was the one outranging everyone on the enemy team. Only I was in a Kirov, not a battleship, so I could actually hit at those ranges, and no one could catch me even if they tried. Kirov OP, plz nrf

    Love the report system

If they've taken damage to the bow before, then they might've already saturated it, or gotten close to it. But most of the time you can sink a half-health BB with RN single-fire torps hitting only the bow. I think, anyway. Done it a few times, mainly with Fiji.

    Ocean

I could probably do with less ambiguous statements. Personally I have fun in the former, and the latter is at worst still a little bit bad, but can easily be interesting. Also, the latter didn't have any specifications. Honestly, standard battle there is much like most other standard battle maps. Other than North and Mountain Range, which still sucks. Northern Lights has been even worse since they decided to remove the actual northern lights from it and just make it like any other map, but with snow.

    Love the report system

You can take all the torps to the nose and not die. You will just saturate the bow section and then become more or less immune to further damage. A half-HP BB probably can't, but almost any full-health ship can. I'm uncertain about DDs vs torps that do enough damage for a single hit kill. Hydro matter with torp aiming, but not with guns, since the moment he fires, he's detected at hydro range. Or close enough, anyway. Then there's that there are two of them. Just try to come from a 90° relative to each other, and there's nothing any cruiser or battleship can do. Then again, all of those things require game knowledge and competent players, so I suppose it's moot.

    Ocean

It's not terrible in an IJN DD. I tend to kemp circle in those. It's also not quite as bad in Domination, since that gives a different spread and focus of ships.

    Ocean

Ocean is a better map than most other maps. And why remove it when you have crap maps like Mountain Range and North? Then you have shipwrecks like Okinawa, which is exactly like Ocean, but with a trap for idiots up northwest.

  19. I think the problem with introducing A.I.s with some kind of neural intelligence is that they will vastly outpace the average human WoWs player, rather than as it is now, bots being just above average.

The DD spam has to stop

Oh, I agree. Much better when I'm in my DD and I have less competition and more targets, as well as more BBs that can sink those pesky cruisers that stand a chance against me. I have been the single DD in a match once or twice. Those matches ended up with me sailing all over the map going "Whee!" and just owning everyone without them having a chance in hell of doing anything against me unless I allow it. More of that, plz.

Before i click enter for a PvP game....

Mid to high tier I always use camo and premium damage control party. I usually use a few flags (but not always, since I don't have a lot of some flags), and one or two more premium consumables (if they only costs silver, I prefer raising my effectiveness over min-maxing income). Captains and ships I train/upgrade in PvP. Not going to spend free XP on those unless it's an absolute wreck at stock (but I try at least once or twice to check). A DD captain I might retrain to the ship so I get the concealment (if it's not a new captain, but by now I have enough 10+ skill captains to go around). Higher tiers get higher priorities for stuff, as does competitive modes.

    Game Choice, Planes, Invisibility, Historicity

For me, Fuso has a higher average damage than my T7 BBs. You mentioned researching naval history. What does that tell you about historical hit rates from battleship main guns? Were they in the 15%-30% range your battleships have?

DD limitation from T8 up to T10

Honestly, if I'm in a BB and there are many DDs in the game, I can usually much more safely get closer, since they make for an effective torpedo picket. Statistically it's more likely that you have at least one good DD player if you have five than if you only have two. With few DDs, there's an even greater chance one side will quickly lose all DDs, which can make for a lopsided game. I don't think you should talk about correcting and people not reading your posts if you can't read other posts yourself. In no place did I say you claimed many DDs were a problem.

    Proposal about hard carry.

Actually, yes, it would. Good idea. Removing things like Kraken and High Caliber would probably improve the game, and not giving such stupid XP bonuses for damage above all things would encourage team play far more than the current rewards. Now, there are individual rewards you can still have without encouraging selfish play. It's a bit tricky to do, but essentially you have to encourage things that help the team win that isn't already a task a lot of people focus on. The rest of your post is just garbage, so I'll ignore that.
