Nagato and Amagi don't play the same at all. Amagi is basically taking the best from Kongo, Fuso, and Nagato, and putting them into one ship. You've got the speed and agility of Kongo, the broadside of Fuso, and the guns of Nagato. Gameplay wise it's most similar to Kongo, in that you're good at roaming around the map with the cruisers. You've also got a turtleback that's very effective at close ranges, so it's a great brawling ship as well. I sometimes wait until I'm 6-7 km away from a battleship before I start to turn away, rather than try my luck at a longer range, and even showing a full broadside at that range isn't as risky as it is for other battleships. Or at least I've gotten away with it any time I can think of.

You keep saying "frequent", but two games is not frequent by any stretch of the imagination. And we're not talking about sailing broadside here. We're talking about bow penetrations. This is apparently "suiciding". If you say exposing yourself to those is bad play that should be punished, then exposing yourself to any shots at all throughout the entire game is bad play. Which is just as ridiculous as it sounds. It's exactly the kind of elitist bullcrap I'm talking about. Punish players the moment they don't reach your standard of gameplay, whether by luck or skill. So if you get deleted from the front, you're automatically a bad player? Right. If there's something wrong with someone, I don't think it's about him.

Honestly, I don't think the game is stable enough for only two times to warrant that punishment.

Yeah, the training room or COOP are great to find out what actually works in a real PvP battle. Bots are not real people. Come on. Use a real argument. Calling it Unsporting Conduct is just plain bullcrap when there isn't an alternative. So in your world, bot battleships always hit cruisers at max range? That's what your logic adds up to. So if it can't read intent, why should it assume malicious intent when in doubt? That's just screwed up. And don't tell me two games is not in doubt. That's not even a pattern.

No, but it shouldn't have a wider net that affects more people than it needs to. Whether this particular incident fits or not isn't something I particularly care about. I'm talking about the general principle of how the system should work.
  6. The colours are nice, and it's distinct while not being overdone. I'd compliment you on having good taste, but then you went and ruined it by claiming you hate so many good designs, so I can't do that. I don't actually mind Akebono's old design. The drawing isn't great, but it doesn't look terrible, and the design is good.

If you're expecting everyone to learn from every instance and not repeat it, including if the same thing happens despite trying to change it, then you're just punishing players who're not playing optimally. If it's not okay to test things out more than once, you're stifling the game and encouraging camping. I would count you as a toxic player who doesn't deserve forum rights. People are allowed to experiment. People are allowed to not make perfect choices. This is a game. This is not a real war. By any reasonably definition you're just whining and dogpiling someone to increase your e-peen. It's possible to play the ship that way. You have to learn how to do it, and to learn that takes more than a few games if you're not used to it. Yes it is, because you think it's reasonable that a player gets punished for rulebreaking while trying to play the game, just because of not being all that good of a player (or just being unlucky). That's inherently a system that punishes lesser skilled players, which is elitist. There is a difference: intent. Now, if you agree with me that a player shouldn't be unfairly punished for someone they didn't do, then that's fine, but please make clear that's what you actually saying, since any reasonable interpretation of your post was the opposite.

That's probably the worst problem Izumo has: She sits between Amagi and Yamato, both ships with awesome potentials.
  9. If we're talking more generally about favourites, other than Poi and Ashigara, I have a full list, thanks to the Kancolle sorter. (Although I don't think it's been updated recently.) Murakumo is my starter, and for a good reason. She's a bit tsundere, but that mostly wears off when she get her kai ni. And she's got the second floofiest hair (after Hatsuharu). Yuu is far better than Ro. That doesn't mean Ro is bad, though. It's just that Japanese fetishes have ruined tanlines for me, so that just falls in the same category as shorts as something that just looks horrible. Of the battleships, I like Bismarck, Fusou, and Kirishima. They're solid characters with solid designs. Italia's not bad either. There are a bunch of cruisers I like. Kinugasa is just so positive and straightforward it's hard to not like her, Choukai is similar to Kirishima in being very reliable, Kumarinko strangly fits in as reliable as well, and Pola's just awesome. Kitakami is laid back, and Jintsuu less so but still has that silk-hiding-steel demeanor. Evil Jintsuu is one of the best abyssals. Shoukaku is my main CV, and she's plain nice. I'd rank several of the CVLs reasonably high, with only Ryuujou getting points docked for tired jokes, and Houshou for being a potato. And Wo is best abyssal. Can't forget about Akashi either. She's got a great personality that's just the right amount of mischievous while still being very pleasant to listen to (which is great, considering she's the secretary quite often). Her non-kai MVP line might just be the best one. I like the blue-black-white Kagero trio of as well, and a few of the Yuugumos. That outfit is rather nice. Takanami, Asashimo, and Nagananami in particular. On the whole, I don't tend to like the kiddy characters. Inazuchi and Ikazuma are at the very bottom, along with those imp abyssals. Yukikaze falls there as well, as she also has an annoying voice (but not as annoying as Abukuma). Tokitsukaze and Tanikaze I don't like for similar reasons (and I often mix them up), but I'm more neutral about them. Nagara's art is crap, so I've never liked her much. Tama's art was crap, but her kai ni is very nice.

AFK in Ranked - Dear WG

So, this thing about AFK ships... I mean, not that I did great, but considering I shot down three planes in Shima, you can probably guess why. Also, I managed to get a solo cap, so there's that. The Montana went AFK after noticing that our Midway was AFK. If I count the total number of plane squadrons from allied CVs I've seen throughout the entire Ranked season so far, it would be one dive bomber squadron. That's it. All CV matches have been automatic losses because of that. This was rather typical for me today in Ranked. Almost entirely weekend warriors on my teams. Completely awful day. Lost a bunch of stars, back to Rank 10 with zero stars. Doesn't help that Shima isn't a great damage dealer (fewer ships to torp means lower chance to hit), so I rarely get enough points to get top XP for no star loss. Even if I get two or three solo caps. Because WG only rewards damage.

Accuracy in Izumo is great. The shell arcs are also good, with good penetration. Citadels... Amagi doesn't eat anything if you angle decently, and at short ranges, nothing at all. However, Izumo can tank AP all day long (well, other than Yamato-class AP) if you're bow in.

If making a mistake once a year is the limit, you're being unreasonably elitist. People make mistakes. Buddy, yes. Kirov and Shchors (and Chappy)? No. To angle your armour you first need to have armour. Against anything that won't be affected by BFT or AFT, you're going to take damage anyway. Battleships will citadel you at any angle. Donskoi, on the other hand, can actually angle. You're just being elitist by whining about players who make mistakes. If you think making a mistake should be equally punishable as someone who deliberately sabotages for their own team, then I think you should be banned from the forums, because your opinion breeds the kind of toxic behaviour we don't need. You have no constructive contribution here, so by your argument, you don't belong here. Sure, you can argue that. If you don't know how points work. The only time early points actually matter, if you're going to lose them anyway, is when the whole team is collapsing, in which case it's a moot point anyway.

If you're deleted early the punishment system shouldn't flag you for it. It happens in normal gameplay, and isn't anything anyone should be punished for.

    new penalty system

I accidentally torped someone (single torp, flooding repaired) with Shima recently, and I didn't turn pink. If you turn pink from one shot, there's probably more to it than that.

AFK in Ranked - Dear WG

I played the T8 Ranked matches in Amagi and Benson. Mostly just Amagi, because that worked very well (not that Benson didn't, but why change a winning strategy?) Shimakaze's my only T10 ship, though. needs moar moneyz. Like 20M. If I had that I could buy Gearing or Yamato. I actually rarely use smoke for myself. Don't need it very often, since I usually play the stealthier ships, and I prefer spotting over smoke firing. With Shimakaze's buff it's even more so.
  16. AnotherDuck

The TK system is just broken

How common is that, compared to accidental damage to division mates? In my experience, if you're in a division, you take more risks, since you're usually more confident that you can communicate what you're doing to the others. As such, those risks far more often pay off, which makes them more worthwhile. I think that when the TK system makes regular gameplay restrictive, then it oversteps its bounds. I also think that if you find someone deliberately sabotaging the team, then you should be able to send in a ticket to support and have them look at it. That's a far more serious infraction than a mistake, and having the same system and punishments for both accidents and malice is not a good idea. Contact damage is so minor it doesn't really count. It only counts if you're already pink and are working to remove that.

The TK system is just broken

The TK system should not work for players within a division.

    Mirror MM and "fail" divisions

I don't think a one tier difference is that much of a practical difference in the game. And if someone wants to bring a Missouri in my Shimakaze + Yamato division, who am I to complain?

AFK in Ranked - Dear WG

So you're saying it's impossible for me to do something incredible like not using the same ship in the ranks 15-11 as I'm using in ranks 10-1? And yeah, I remember that game. Well, I think it was that game, anyway. I often forget looking at the names of the players I'm playing with, so I completely missed you. However, I didn't see many Z-52s, so I'm guessing it was the match on Sleeping Giant (well, most my games were on that map, as I mentioned in the chat) where we roamed east from north spawn and south to get both eastern caps. I found it funny that we encountered the DDs one at a time (although one ran to get Zao help, probably wise). Was a good game. Well, Shimakaze doesn't get a whole lot of experience, at least not compared to Amagi. After all, spotting doesn't matter, and capping barely matters.
  20. Pretty much the same for me. Ashigara is my second favourite character in the game. I usually don't like that, since it clashes so much with how they're supposed to be warships. The ones I find it works with are Yamakaze and Takanami. Yama still manages to come off as resolute somehow. Outside her slight tsundere mentality. And she's got the best Christmas line. Takanami is mostly just insecure, but has spirit. She's also an honourable duckie. Ushio's fine too, when she's more confident.
  21. I find it strange that Ashigara seems to need help with cooking. Isn't she one of the ones who're usually depicted as actually competent at it?
  22. am i doin it rite in my amgai?

AFK in Ranked - Dear WG

I ran into someone who deliberately went AFK to throw the game, just because he didn't like how I won the previous game against him. Sent in a ticket about it. I don't expect anything from it, but I find that deliberately doing crap like that should be more harshly punished than when it's accidental. Funny thing is that I still carried the team to victory (with good help). Amagi is a great ship in ranked.
  24. I always wonder why that would be something you'd want to fight your battles.
