Sad. Been a member for some years now. Have seen members arrive and members leave. Community was nice. Loved the humor. Some trolls, some mindbogling posts.. but I have enjoyed the forum else I would not have the numbers of posts or the years present. And it’s Gone. With a 3 day warning in advance. Like that. Can WG do it? For sure it’s theirs from a technical/ judicial pov. But it feels like this forum should be us. Playerbase and WG. But the unspoken truth is that there is no us in WG’s mindset. Or the us in WG mind is WG and €. This removes any doubt about their (lack) of respect for their playerbase. For me the forum was part of the wows experience, And as before, where subs and cv’s already had their negative impact, this closing of the forum ( and especially the lack of tact and communication on WG’s side) is just another nail in the coffin.

None of the options will replace this forum. Twitch is just for the CT. As is discord. I might follow the Thursday Twitch if there is some interesting news.. But from a communication pov this forum was ideally learn about shared codes, informations, learning about all the “ good “ things WG has in store for us etc.. This forum actually had utility regarding events, joining opt in missions and using codes for goodies. All that is gone. Absolutely dislike discord as a serious replacement. Reddit might be somehow a limited alternative. At least regarding sharing codes. But nothing will replace the social part. Players advising new players. With friendships or at least recognition and mutual appreciation but also some dislikes between certain members. And it’s Gone. With a 3 day warning in advance. Like that. Can WG do it? As for players who are doubting to either use silver for the permanent economic bonus ( T5-T8) or as a conversion currency to get their gold in their run for a T8: WG gave away some T5-T7 permanent economic bonus sets last year. You can use these to equip the new Spanish ships and when you buy them during the event the spend silver is automatically refunded into *2 gold. Benefit of this: I do want to have the T8 permanent bonus. But I had some unspent T5 and T7 permanent economic boosters laying around. I still have to cycle through the 4 phases but the silver coins spent on the T5 and T7 will be returned to me in the form of gold. That’s 150 extra gold that I won’t need FXP or CT to spend on to get through the T8 camo and the actual T8 ship.

True, while most T9 coal ships can be bought by doubloon directly, the T10’s are hidden behind coal. How nice of WG to open up another monetary route towards these T10’s. Just hand in that token T5 ship plus pay the additional 30k doubloons..and you get that T10 coal ship formerly behind the coal wall.. But it seems very monetary inefficient compared to going f.e. full Satan crates ( if the ship does not drop directly all the dropped coal/ steel will give access) or going for coal during an auction event.

Only way this might work for a very select group of players is that: A. You can trade in a T10 coal ship for a doubloon only T9/ T8 B. You are allowed to rebuy for coal that T10 ship C. You have such abundance of coal that the conversion coal —> doubloons ( aka a doubloon only ship) that a bad conversion rate is acceptable due to having so much coal to burn that it’s just no longer relevant. D. You already have all available coal ships. If not you are paying T10 coal prizes for T8 ships. Some interesting T8’s ( Tirpitz, Kaga, Bayard, San Diego (?), I-56 ( lol) ) and a T9, Dalian ( would require additional dubs) could be acquired bij trading in a coal T10 ( most efficient would be a T10 coal destroyer that is currently available) since they are only 10 k coal more expensive then their T9 kin.

I bought it…misread a 0 and thought like 2M is ok. Like it’s a camo I would never use but buying it for “ just” 2M silver removes it from the pool of camo’s that can drop from fe the travel containers. My brain - eye interaction was slow, my brain - finger interaction clicking purchase while my brain was shouting “ stop!” was even slower…

Not a SC but still a welcome surprise. Collected my US temporary Event collection. Was aiming for the quick 2K CT. But the collection also included a premium container.......

I like it. The CT mission for 50k BXP is finished so that can be a measure of popularity. Good games, especially with a mediocre team and a good ship I can get 2k bxp victories. That’s 1.6M+silver with blue boosters. Mediocre games are in the 1200-1600 bxp bracket but still 1 M. Except for the daily Santander game ( leveling, finished today)I play my T9 premium BB equipped with blue’s for silver, FXP end CXP. While otherwise broke regarding silver the extra income enabled me to purchased St. Martin plus all modules + some missing modules with combined worth 35m silver. With St Martin in port and the new EU dd line not yet researchable that leaves no more silver ships to buy ( except for some tier 2/3). Any money ( and FXP) earned will go in the reset and purchase for RB reset of the jpn dd line next month. Nice to be collecting silver in front instead of afterwards.

Coupon is going to be for a steel ship. Miscalculated my steel with the Xmas coupon,so used it on a coal ship, now have unprecedented 36k steel. Steel goes before coal, but even then, no coal ships remain. No problem buying Brisbane full prize. Steel options are many. Only have Bourgogne, Shikishima and Stalingrad. My steel income is not reliable large enough to buy a steel ship with coupon each half year. ( not buying BP each month) But goal is to try to buy a steel ship next 2-3 coupons. Do not care about remaining steel ships as such, it’s just another T10 for snowflake. So will go for the trio of cheapest T10 steel ships: Plymouth, Ragnar and then depending on steel the Z42 or the Austin.

Sometimes it’s rng loot boxes with the most likely ( worst) outcome having less value. Sometimes we get an early acces ship with a lower tier. Sometimes the reward is good, like a direct amount of doubloons. Still it is a port space, 750k silver plus an additional 1.8m if you already have the ship. For new players it gives a shortcut to the German BB tree. Still a bit unimaginative. But then 25 additional black and red camo is just 1m silver extra. Players are entitled to nothing. It’s an extra goodie attached to a subscription that’s way wider then wows or WG. No need for work. It’s not that you have to watch twitch for 4 hrs and get a measly 100 CT, a camo and some flags..it’s clicking a collect button. If WG decides to give 1 coal and a middle finger or even cancels this reward there is zero legal ground to complain. ( not sure though if WG has obligations to Twitch regarding value) in the end you can always decide not to collect the reward if it’s so bad… For me, although preferring the earlier 1500d (but understanding that it was more an unicum then a base reward), I happy cash in my 2.5m silver plus the port spot.

15K coal from the SC weekend mission. Not that bad. Just another 15K coal short for Tromp. With another 10K as a reward from DY incoming I should get my last coal ship this week. Then it’s just starting over again saving coal for Brisbane… Does mean that coal is about to lose its main selling point though ( acquiring premium/ freemium ships)…

Currently feel rich with almost 40m silver..That’s not that much but… I only miss ( need to purchase) the T9 and T10 PA cruiser ( waiting for the line to unlock, have 180k xp on the T8 ready), the T10 UK sub ( needs 300 k FXP) and the T10 US BB Hybrid ( needs another 150k XP). Beyond that I reset for RB the dd dakka line which I FXP 3 times a year and only rebuy it once for snowflakes. Plus I need silver to equip premium an freemium ships. Currently have 500+ ships in port, fully upgraded ( and f.e. No A hulls sold) and equipped with minimum 10 pnt captains from T6 onward. ( some T5 have to do with a 6 pnt)

Got my 2 birthday SC. Hyped me was enthusiastic that I got 2 SC before the nerf…Let’s get that 5K doubloons and 30 days premium… Spoiler alert: 2x 50 green bonus…

If you have the choice between 3 ships. Gorizia has been offered for free before. Hood has not. And Tashkent is a new release. To be willing to pay a higher base prize in ingame currency (and not doubloons because you are cheaper off if you buy Hood/ Gorizia directly from the armory) it’s only advantageous if you have so much of a certain currency that it’s actual relative value is so low that converting it into a premium ship at these conversion rates is actually ok. So that’s the economic pov. As for gameplay. All of them can be ok but they are a bit niche on their capabilities. Some specific capabilities and some very specific liabilities. Like you said Gorizia has some powerful sap but when it meets BB’s…Hood is fast, has good shells but only 8 guns. Tashkent has nice torps, reload is migitated by reload booster and has good HP. But you are visible from the moon. Yes you have your smoke but with 3 guns you are not going to do much dakka dakka. If you have currency to spare ( like combination of silver and CXP) I would go for Tashkent first. It’s the cheapest one and then Hood ( all depending on your bottomless currency stocks). At least you can remove them from future drop pools while getting them for “ free” now.

Yes, but free resources —> Tashkent only. Paid by CXP, silver and 100k coal. Why? Because even if it’s expensive for a Tier 7 coal wise. It’s still irrelevant since it’s normally not available for coal. Either pay for it in free available ingame resources now or have it show up in a SC/ Satan container instead of a premium ship not been made available for free ingame ( not paid for) resources. And both CXP and silver are easily available and less needed in the quantities i had. Coal is still useful but only missing goodies purchasable by coal is Tromp and in the future Brisbane. Have all other admirals and ships… Purchase of Tromp is delayed by 3 months or less. Now I have a ship in port that is not available normally for coal. Unless WG offers it for coal for a normal prize in the armory…Which, knowing WG being dirty, might always happen.

Depends on which ships you already own from T5 and T7. Basically before buying those T5 or T7 containers make sure you have removed any other free to get drops from the pool. Thus coal ships and cheap CT containers ( like the 300 ones). You don’t want a Lazo or Marblehead for that expensive CT container when you can safely eliminate them before with coal.

I would like to “ eliminate” Tashkent 39 from future SC/ Satan drop pools. Currently I have no T7 or lower polluting my potential drops. While the coal ratio is high for a T7 I am even more limited in CT ( other way was flushing her out with T7 premium CT containers). I Have a nice amount of not used CXP, some credits plus the coal available. So might be a good trade if WG does not surprise me (I trust WG as far as mynGneisenau has reliable guns) by making Tashkent available in an other way relative soon..

There is no doubloon inflation. Or you must mean the increased number of events, gamble options etc where WG tries to get those doubloons. And then it’s for sure not positive if players spend free doubloons from SC where WG is after our hard currency… WG only worried about their own economy..understandable but then don’t find false excuses..

Unfortunately more and more unable to grind the FXP for the cheapest reset line each 3 months.. Before economic rework a dedicated FXP build ( not even using mosaic lvl of camo’s)gave 20k FXP for a reasonable operation. Now with blues I get 6k… and Red FXP are in no way as easy to get in numbers then comparable or way better dragoon flags and FXP camo’s before rework… Plus the FXP drain to get those subs fxp’ed to T10..

The DY reward ( T9 ) looks cheap for just 5500D especially if you take into account that if you go the BP route you gain some additional goodies. But there are some extremely grinding missions especially at the end. These CXP are not the toughest ( and you will get some blue and red boosters anyway through the BP pack) since there are some stinky BXP missions at the end. Its not the individual mission and the 5500D entry fee that made me , for the first time ignore a DY, but the grind vs available time ( going on holiday) increasing the risk of a possible increase of cost if you fail to get the grind missions in time. Although with BP you can delay the purchase decision. Also Daison being yet another T9 JPN BB does not make the deal better. Looking at the 255k CXP requirement: will need 2 so will focus on BB and cruisers with mainly OPS. Even mediocre wins will give 20k CXP with blues. Still looking at 10 operations games for each class if rng does not give me teammates that refuse to be even carried.. That’s 3 OPS games a day for 7 days minimum to get both classes covered. But then I need some coop games to work on the other requirement. It’s more work work and “ to do” then playing the game. And while I enjoy OPS and regard it as one of the more solid ( aka Random with current playerbase is too unreliable) credit/ resource earning methods, I just can’t be bothered.. Will progress the DY and will try to get some rewards ( close to get the 10k coal f.e.) but will end in the early 20’s phase wise.. edit: the current BP free “ reward” of 3 KOTS container ( 45k credits), does not really motivate me to go deep into BP effort / playing multiple games each day either..

The numbers of players that are either entitled or have troubles reading English ( or both)… But maybe it’s better for WG to have a fixed reward like 1 silver or 1 coal instead of nothing just to shut up the “ I did not get anything must be fraud” members on this forum.. Did not get the 2000CT nor the BB so I concluded that I did get nothing..no notification needed…

Easy no for this BP. Even trying to finish the free version is useless as I finished the KOTS event years ago. As for Daisen, the grind requirement make the cheapest option ( BP+ 2 single purchased phases) undesirable. So it’s going to be another Wows holiday. Log in to get that free ( soon to be nerfed SC) maybe 1-4 games to get the first coal container and that 8 th DY phase for the 10 k coal which seems doable for the duration.

All depends on mission requirements. Yes to get the minimum 5 phases it’s an ok deal to get the premium BP + 3k for the 2 remaining phases…but only if the missions ( especially those in the last group) are not incredibly grindy..and you find out that it’s only doable to do the work…now with BP you have the advantage of not having to commit yourself ( by buying the discounted package which usually is only available at the start) but can be made at the end instead. But for me the grind has become more tiresome then the investment of another 5.5k Doubloons..
